Tim Kee should state who the TTFF is voting for tomorrow just like the US. Everything always in secret

Don't we have a game against Jordan coming up? Where Sepp challenger from? Then again England bring a squad to play us in the Stadium and Jack never give them a vote as far as we can tell.

Partner I doubt the US really doing this to gain control over world football, but if you buy into that theory, yuh could do a lot better than to quote Putin. He has a direct interest in making sure FIFA's secrets regarding the WC bids are kept hidden. What Putin doing here is mostly for his constituents and plays into his broader narrative that the West out to get Russia and it's us vs them... Putin taking front because he knows what could be found and wants to make sure his people are doubtful enough that any revelations will be cast aside as the West disrespecting Russia. I also find it laughable that Putin is now the defender of international sovereignty...

I don't doubt that Sepp is the big target and that's why the Swiss have launched the investigation into 2018 and 2022 WC bids. I am also pretty sure that whatever information the accused have to share will be passed to the Swiss in their broader investigation.

Also as for the US overreaching, the charges unveiled yesterday are very focused on the Concacaf side of business and pretty clearly establish a link to the US and jurisdiction for US law enforcement and courts.

    • Concacaf is headquartered in the US
    • Four of the charge/arrested/indicted are US citizens: Chuck Blazer, Aaron Davidson-the sports marketing guy, Eugenio Figueredo-the Uruguayan and naturalized US citizen who is also charged with lying on his citizenship application, and one of Jack sons
    • Traffic Sports USA is headquartered in Miami (one of the sports marketing firms that paid bribes
    • Over $100M in bribes were paid related to the 2016 Copa America that being held in the US
    • Warner sons was flying up and down the US depositing bribe money in under $10K US chunks into accounts for people
    • Some of the bribe money for Jeffrey Webb went to build a pool and was put in a US bank in GA for a US contractor

NO need in spilling so much of your guts trying to convince me that America has no personal interest in the matter. I am posting the news similar to how other posters are posting the news. If you are bothered with what Putin is saying I cannot help you.[/list]

Well thanks for posting that piece of "news" and furthering the discussion on the board.

Baked the last part of my original post says that the Warners get a $500k fine and a year probation as part of the plea.

Also announced today was that the Swiss open a criminal investigation on the bidding for 2018 and 2022 WC. So it looks like the CONCACAF bacchanal was the opening for a broader investigation on FIFA.

Nah, is de "corporate defendants" who get the year probation and $500k fine.  Sentencing yet to pass on the Warners plea.

    Ok got it.
I was wondering what kinda info they gave up to get away so easy, but good to know that sentencing still due...

Daryan and Daryll Warner face maximum terms of incarceration of 10 years for structuring financial transactions to evade currency reporting requirements.

I doubt they facing the max... if so then what was the point of cutting a deal?  Likely they had charges dropped and the DOJ will recommend a reduced sentenced as part of the plea deal.

I am sure Sepp is the ultimate prize here. Just as they use iron clad cases as leverage on smaller fish like Chuck and the Warner gang to ketch bigger fish, so the same with Webb & Co. to get to Sepp, Issa and perhaps Platini? Apparently Chuck was wearing a wire for a while and The Warner gang tell dey daddy secrets. No honor among thieves.

Nah I think this is specifically a CONCACAF issue... looking at the players, we posted about this Traffic Sports deal, at least I know I have, on this site and on Big Soccer years now.  Blazer negotiate the CONCACAF TV rights with Traffic using his Cayman company as broker.  That violates NYS (CONCACAF HQ was in NYC then) corporate laws... among other things.  The use of wire transfers makes it a federal crime, hence the DOJ's involvement.  Was wondering what became of this probe.

Interesting the 2 Warner's both pleaded guilty to 'Bobbol', and they were
not member's of FIFA, yet the Patriarch of the Warner family has not been
questioned, and continues to proclaim his innocence.

    Hmmmmmmmm..........

I am guessing the 2 son's were given the opportunity to come forward, before
they were hunted, smart on their part, and the Patriarch was also afforded the
opportunity to come forward, and answer a few questions, but chose not to.

And after all of this news about FIFA, and the allegations of 'rampant corruption',
Mr. Overseer of Corruption, the Earl of Fifa, aka Sepp, will carry on with his
    election this Friday.

I am sure Sepp is the ultimate prize here. Not seeing Chuck Blazer name?

    He cut a deal?

    From the Express: http://trinidadexpress.com/20150527/news/warner-among-nine-fifa-officials-indicted

The following individuals and corporations previously pleaded guilty under seal:

On July 15, 2013, the defendant Daryll Warner, son of defendant Jack Warner and a former FIFA development officer, waived indictment and pleaded guilty to a two-count information charging him with wire fraud and the structuring of financial transactions.

On Oct. 25, 2013, the defendant Daryan Warner waived indictment and pleaded guilty to a three-count information charging him with wire fraud conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy and the structuring of financial transactions. Daryan Warner forfeited over $1.1 million around the time of his plea and has agreed to pay a second forfeiture money judgment at the time of sentencing.

On Nov. 25, 2013, the defendant Charles Blazer, the former CONCACAF general secretary and a former FIFA executive committee member, waived indictment and pleaded guilty to a 10-count information charging him with racketeering conspiracy, wire fraud conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy, income tax evasion and failure to file a Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR). Blazer forfeited over $1.9 million at the time of his plea and has agreed to pay a second amount to be determined at the time of sentencing.

On Dec. 12, 2014, the defendant José Hawilla, the owner and founder of the Traffic Group, the Brazilian sports marketing conglomerate, waived indictment and pleaded guilty to a four-count information charging him with racketeering conspiracy, wire fraud conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy and obstruction of justice. Hawilla also agreed to forfeit over $151 million, $25 million of which was paid at the time of his plea.

On May 14, 2015, the defendants Traffic Sports USA Inc. and Traffic Sports International Inc. pleaded guilty to wire fraud conspiracy.

Daryan and Daryll Warner face maximum terms of incarceration of 10 years for structuring financial transactions to evade currency reporting requirements. Each individual defendant also faces mandatory restitution, forfeiture and a fine. By the terms of their plea agreements, the corporate defendants face fines of $500,000 and one year of probation.

    Like they turn informer...

What a performance today, a fitting end to a season that seemed to completely implode towards the end. Has Brendan lost the dressing room? The players didn't look like they could be bothered.

If FSG have big reservations about Rodgers, they should go ahead and cut him now. It doesn't make sense to have him involved in transfers and prep for next season if they plan to axe him at the first signs of a run of bad form.

Boss, all I could say is Sansa blight like fawwkk.

I watch that episode and was so vex I couldn't sleep. I kept hoping Theon would grab a knife or do something. But hopefully she learn something from Littlefinger and have a bigger plan than having this joker turn her into Reek 2.0. Whoever take that man out, I hope they do it slow and painful.

And Cersei is like the anti- Littlefinger, this woman can't see beyond the next move on the board. Her father is right, she's not as clever as she thinks she is. She trying to embarrass the one key ally her family has, the family that is literally funding the Kingdom, she is undermining her son's authority and giving religious fanatics free run when she herself have plenty things to hide. All for a personal vendetta against the new queen.

I like how the show contrasts the leadership styles and decision making processes of Jon and Khaleesi against Cersei/Tommen and Stannis.

Emailgate is the gift that keep on giving. I feel like Tanty Kamla and the PP botch this to the nth degree. Even if it's completely false, the way they have reacted attracts as much scrutiny as the original claims.

I mean the leader of the opposition comes to Parliament with a claim so scandalous and outrageous that it almost seems laughable. I can't help but feel that a more deft politician would have been able to quickly spin the claim as a pathetic and desperate act by someone with little credibility. Instead we get an intense over reaction, repeated attempts to exonerate themselves via dubious 3rd parties and interference that seem to preempt or undermine the official enquiries.

    Arsenal way too one dimensional

Aresenal patterns it's game along the Barcelona model.....yet you don't see Barca so stunted and one dimensional in attack

While it's not easy to break down a team that parks the bus.....Barcelona does this practically every game.  Now...they have exceptional players....none of which Arsenal have (except for maybe Sanchez)....but still.....find another route to goal nah man.

When Barca get bogged down, Messi goes into the phonebooth to take off his glasses and work clothes and comes out to save the day. Last night Arsenal brought on Theo.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I wanted to post the following article:

    http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-05-12/what-happens-when-republicans-realize-obamacare-was-written-for-them-

What Happens When Republicans Realize Obamacare Was Written for Them?

Luis Lang, a 49-year-old smoker and diabetic from South Carolina, is going to go blind unless he figures out how to pay for expensive eye treatment.

Lang is a self-employed, uninsured handyman who stopped working due to his poor vision. He’s also a Republican who decided not to purchase Obamacare and prided himself on being able to pay his own medical bills, but also assumed that there would be some kind of government help in the event of an emergency, the Charlotte Observer reported Tuesday. He missed the enrollment period and wouldn’t have qualified for subsidies because, since he’s not working, he makes too little money. But he still makes too much money for Medicaid, which South Carolina did not expand.

“As each day goes by my vision get worst,” Lang, who apologized for grammatical mistakes due to his deteriorating vision, wrote on his GoFund Me page. “And if I do go blind it will take [surgery] to get my vision bac[k] if they can.” Since the Observer story was published Lang has received over $500 in donations, including several from Obamacare supporters chiding him for not signing up for the health care law. (Example: “I really hope that you get your operation soon so that you can go back to work and hopefully understand why the ACA was passed in the first place.”)

“I drive a 2009 Mazda, and I’m just trying to make it in my little apartment and not be on government assistance.”
    Erin Meredith

Lang’s story is the kind of personal health care anecdote that says something larger about the role the Affordable Care Act plays in people’s political and personal lives. During ACA's first enrollment period, there was a lot of debate over the validity of several Obamacare horror stories: ads featuring men and women who lost their doctors or whose premiums were suddenly unaffordable because of the new law.

But after nearly two years, and one Supreme Court case threatening to gut federal subsidies, a new kind of horror story is emerging: one in which people who are politically opposed to the law see how much it could help them. Instead of conservatives pointing to higher premiums and saying “I told you so,” it’s the left pointing to reports of financially vulnerable people the law was designed to protect.

In a February, for example, The Washington Post interviewed Erin Meredith, a “fifth-generation Republican” from Austin with two children. Meredith lost her insurance after her divorce and discovered that she had a rare medical condition, but her income qualified her for a $132 Obamacare subsidy, bringing her premium down to $89 a month. Like Lang, Meredith prided herself on not relying government assistance. Still, she signed up, and is now worried the Supreme Court will rule against the legality of her subsidy.

“I can still feed my kids and put gas in my car,” Meredith told The Post. “I’m not trying to go to Cancun or carry a Michael Kors bag. I drive a 2009 Mazda, and I’m just trying to make it in my little apartment and not be on government assistance.”

The best example of the conservative-turned-Obamacare-supporter phenomenon is James Webb, known on YouTube as Hot Lead retired. In a video published last month titled “This Tea Party Patriot May Vote For Hillary,” Webb—who said he’s voted for Republicans for 32 years and was a charter member of his local Tea Party Patriots chapter—said that he was thinking of voting for Hillary Clinton because Republicans want to repeal Obamacare. Because of the Affordable Care Act, Webb said, he was able to retire at the age of 50.

Webb's story was picked up by several left-leaning news sites, including Raw Story, Huffington Post, The Nation, Talking Points Memo, and Wonkette. And even though Webb said less than a week later that he “had a few days to think about it” and he wouldn’t be voting for Clinton, he responded to his critics by saying that he has an income and pays for health insurance—it’s subsidized, but not free. It’s worth noting that the Congressional Budget Office estimated in 2014 that Obamacare would reduce the workforce by 1.5 to 2 percent because people would “choose to supply less labor.” In other words, Obamacare makes it easier for people who were unable to leave their jobs to start a business, switch careers, or retire early, to leave their jobs.

The health care law was, in fact, designed to help people in those situations: people like Lang who lack employer insurance but have pre-existing conditions; or who, like Meredith, have low incomes; and people like Webb who want to retire early.

In the long run, however, these stories will likely do more to convince liberals that they’re right about Obamacare than change the hearts and minds of conservatives. The latest health tracking poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation found that 75 percent of Republicans have a somewhat or very unfavorable view of the health care law (compared to 16 percent of Democrats), and 38 percent think the law has hurt them (compared to only 8 percent of Democrats).

Lang is also unconvinced. He and his wife don’t blame the state for not expanding Medicaid, or themselves for waiting until illness struck to sign up for insurance. According to Helms they “blame President Obama and Congressional Democrats for passing a complex and flawed bill.”

“(My husband) should be at the front of the line because he doesn’t work and because he has medical issues,” Mary Lang, Luis’ wife, told the Charlotte Observer. “We call it the Not Fair Health Care Act.”

Well this is the hypocrisy of these open carry laws, yuh could only do that if yuh white.

I'm sure there is hypocrisy in the implementation of the laws, but this video is more sensationalist than anything.  To truly demonstrate that this is racism/bias at play it would first have to be in the same jurisdiction, how the laws are enforced in one state might differ from another... or even if in the same state, how one municipality enforces from another might be different.  Here it's clear these are two different police departments... and possibly even different states.  That aside, what one police officer views as reasonable suspicion to stop a person and investigate, might be different from another, although in theory they shoul be the same.

Bakes I hear yuh and for all we know he probably had 9 relatively "pleasant" interactions but only show the video for #10... That's why I also highlighted the absurd shooting of the fella in WalMart.

Well this is the hypocrisy of these open carry laws, yuh could only do that if yuh white.

Remember when the Feds try to shut down some rancher who lost a court order to move his cattle of gov't lands and all kinda militia turn up armed to confront the Feds? On the news, they show people in ghillie suite taking up sniper positions ready to shoot at gov't officials enforcing a court order. Fox News big them up like David trying to protect the poor rancher's rights against the Goliath that is an unfair gov't. The gov't end up boiling down like baghee... but the black folks in Ferguson/Baltimore etc is thugs and trouble makers with no respect for the government. Right?

Remember the black fella who get gun down in WalMart while carrying a toy gun that was sold in the WalMart? Police roll-up on him and shoot without warning while the man on the phone; in an open carry state.

My wife always says black people need to join the NRA and start driving around with the NRA stickers and tee shirts. When stuff like this happen call out the NRA publically to come and defend black people rights to carry guns too.

Abusive lover stabs girlfriend to death
    By Jensen La Vende (Guardian).

A hostile relationship, a jealous lover and alleged poor policing are being blamed for the murder of Nikita Griffin, who was stabbed to death early yesterday at her Clifton Hill apartment, St Paul Street, East Dry River, Port-of-Spain. Police said around 5.30 am, Griffin, a 28-year-old mother of three, was at her apartment, having just returned home from partying with friends when she and the suspect began arguing.

The man then pulled out a knife and stabbed her repeatedly in front of her 13-year-old child. After stabbing the woman the man placed her in a car and took her to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The man, police said, is now in hiding. Speaking to the media at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, yesterday, Griffin’s friends said she and the man were together for the past five months and were continuously arguing.

The man, they said, was always jealous of any attention Griffin received from the opposite sex and that was the cause of most of the almost daily arguments. The women lamented that Griffin’s killer was arrested by police after the two got into a heated argument recently but was later released.
Griffin’s killing was one of three which occurred between Tuesday night and yesterday morning. In the other killings, police are clueless over the motive for the murder of Alyrio Sergio Howard.

Police reports are that around 8.50 pm on Tuesday, Howard, 35, of Queen Elizabeth Avenue, Petit Valley, was driving east along Carlton Avenue, St James, when a Nissan B-13 stopped in front of his Hyundai Elantra. Two men came out and shot him several times before driving off. The car was later found abandoned. Speaking at the FSC yesterday, his mother, Lorraine Howard, said her son was a loving young man who had recently returned from abroad after completing his studies. He had two children aged two and six  and was an accountant with Sagicor.

An unidentified aunt called on the media to highlight the ills of society so that they could be addressed. She added her nephew’s murder was “a sign of the times in T&T,” adding: “T&T is not becoming a nice place. It really isn't.” In the other killing, homicide detectives say they are reviewing closed circuit television footage in the hope of apprehending the killer/s of Shane Harper.

Police said around 11.30 pm on Tuesday, residents of Belmont Circular Road heard several gunshots and called the police. When police arrived they found Harper, of La Canoa, Santa Cruz, dead at Carr Lane, off Carr Street, Belmont Circular Road. Police are unsure of a motive behind his killing. With the three murders the toll is now 94. The figure for the same period last year was 113.

Terrible situation... BTW, she was 28 with a 13 year old child???
