General Discussion / Re: Explain "Banton" please.
« on: July 14, 2012, 09:02:47 PM »
Its something JW and Blaze developed on their morning show. it started off as a fluke where one time Blaze identified one the callers who was a police officer as 'Law Banton' and it just took off from there. JW and Blaze have a very good rapport with their callers, so they nicknamed their callers as a Banton based on for eg, their occupation, interests, football team, character etc. The callers themselves make up their own nicknames. So for eg, there is 'Teacher banton', Barca Banton, etc

Its something unique to the callers of Red 96.7 and i personally see nothing wrong with it and its something the callers and listeners to the station seem to enjoy. And it even blew up so big to the point that just last week Red hosted an 'I am Banton' party that from what i understand was a success.

Hazard to Chelsea he just announce

Boom bang  :beermug:

To be honest, I will have to go look him up on Youtube, I've never seen him play lol. I've been following him on Twitter recently though and he seems like an imps, so I wont believe it until the club announce it.

But who wouldn't want to play for the European Champions;D

He is a glory hunter and a wagonnist. and his lack of humility turned me off a great deal. but if its true that he comin, hell be a force on that wing, with mata in centre and ramires/marin and lampy and mikel in those defensive roles, midfield will be looking real sexy

That pts system would destroy the art of counter attacking football and never ever give David a chance against Goliath!!

ah love it!!

How so?  "David" have an entire 120 minutes plus to leggo dem slingshot.

Counter attacking football is great.  What?  Yuh doh take shots at goal and get corners etc in counter attacking football?

As an alternative to penalty kicks, a points system would ONLY come into effect in the event teams are deadlocked at the end of extra time

In essence, what you really confirming is that there are teams that go solely into such matches NOT looking to score....but hoping to just get to penalties where they feel maybe they could have a chance.

But it really doh matter.  PK's will be here for the forseeable future.  All I suggested was an alternative.

^^^^^ I know this bunnin yuh, and it probably makes you sick whenever you see it, but u need to get over it. You, Blatter and everyone else need to get over yourselves. If every team played the same style of football, it would become boring wouldnt it. Toatin feelings is not a good look for you palos

Would you believe this is what drew me to the club in the first place as well. also happened to be jose mourinho's first year as coach. i was a spanish league fan but got bored of the same top three almost every year

So yuh get bored of de spanish league wit de same top 3 every year so yuh transfer yuh allegiance to chelsea when mourinho first come on as coach and didn't get bored dat de english top 3 dem times was man u, chelsea, and arsenal every year  ???

when a league could be decided two whole weeks in advance, yes I'd get bored

and take your time palos, you know the top half of the english league table regularly changes. now that Man City, spurs and even newcastle saying something, makes it even more competitive for next season once they can maintain that level

Lukaku: 'I will never forgive AVB'

May 21, 2012
By ESPN staff

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has launched a stinging criticism of former manager Andre Villas-Boas, insisting he will "never forgive" the Portuguese boss.

Lukaku, 19, believes that he was sidelined by Villas-Boas from the day he arrived at the club, saying the former Porto boss did not treat him with respect.

Although Lukaku was signed during the Villas-Boas era at Stamford Bridge, he was bought as a result of a long-standing scouting project by the club - not at Villas-Boas' request.

Speaking after Chelsea's Champions League triumph, Lukaku told Sport Wereld: "I could not believe it. I had to think 'Is this really happening'? European champion ... My life has changed and I'm only nineteen.

"But there is one person that I will never forgive for what he did to me - the previous coach. It's not just that. It was also the way he spoke to me and treated me. Right from the beginning, it was weird. I could not stand how he was treating me. I received no explanation.

"In training he put me on the right or left wing. In training matches I was a substitute with a shirt to keep swapping teams. I really learned nothing! I have told the club that too. I understand that he was under pressure, but I was also thinking of myself. I have improved in recent months."

Clearly, AVB is very poor in the man-management department and hopefully he will recognize that and make the necessary adjustments in his future.  The players, though, need to get over certain things and remember they are professionals and that they play for the club and the fans.  To me, once you playing a sport you love and gettin' paid seeeeerious money to do it, yuh cyah let certain things keep you down.

Lukaku need to take his time. He young in his football ting. he eh no legend like Drogba so he need to humble himself. with that being said, i loved avb but he needed to move different with the players. but then again, avb wasnt brough there to babysit and make fren. he was put there to change the style of our football. babysittin wud have been di matteo's job

Small Mag wasn’t even born in the 80’s. The first time he see United they was already winning titles, so that mean he” jump on” because they winning.

 Yes.  :D
nah I almost sure d manu ting hereditary jus like d england ting...............but winnin is always ah factor for "far removed" fans.............I personally did loss touch wit english and Int. club football for years especially when TTT stop bringing regular football an I din get cable for years after dat .......den I went by my aunt and was flippin through channels bounce up ah chelsea game and started watchin..........drogba came on as ah sub as he used to in d earlies and score ah double was very impressed with d man play........and I will admit how "black" d team was and dat was dat................had no clue bout dey record previous to dat.

Would you believe this is what drew me to the club in the first place as well. also happened to be jose mourinho's first year as coach. i was a spanish league fan but got bored of the same top three almost every year

People rarely hate on individuals as much as the franchises. The Yankees and the Lakers are examples people people hate on them for success, their financial muscle and being big market teams. Chelsea is now getting a taste of that, winning things, having a lot of money and being a big market team (regular top 4).

They are getting what other successfual teams get it does not make them especially hated. It only feel so to Omar because he is a Chelsea fan.

And LeBron is an expection, of sorts. He is an individual who is successful, has financial muscle and is the biggest brand in basketball and people have a visceral desire to dee him fail as a result.

Dat is shit talk dan!  I myself witness people comin out the woodwork to emphatically back any team other than Chelsea.  Chelsea hasn't had enough success to generate that kind of response and yet it was there.  If you does watch spanish football and your team is Real Madrid as an example, why would you specifically care to express that you want Bayern to win.  Is not man was sayin "Bayern is the stronger team so I expect them to win" ino, man was out and out sayin "I backin Bayern" or "I want Chelsea to lose."  You eh ha to endure it so you wouldn't notice but every Chelsea fan who I kno and does talk to regular was all saying the exact same thing and we all in different circles professionally.  The hate fuh Chelsea seem abnormally strong for such a relatively new team to success.  I could understand ManUre, Liverpool, Real Madrid, etc haters because these teams have a strong legacy of being the best by virtue of all their titles, but Chelsea?!!

a fella at my work is a Real Madrid fan. He bawl oh he supporting bayern because they beat his team, and because they showed they were better than them. i honestly dont get that logic. if a team beats Chelsea, i would want that team to get level licks for their next game, especially if they knocked me out of a tournament such as the Champions league.

daiz d kinda distance men would go to because they hate Chelsea so much

Imagine today, men still want to give me talks, about oh they have 9 championships (Madrid fan ), and having one dont mean anything and oh we have real catchin up to do. real sour grapes with some men  ::)

Barataria - the number for today is 7.

In all seriousness been saying it, Barca looking a lil fatigued and wounded by their standards.  Xavi is clearly not 100% fit, Iniesta not on top form, Villa hurt, Abidal out, Pedro is not the Pedro of last season etc... On their day they can still kill anyone of course, but the rest of the top tier football world have a better shot of beating them on any given day.

Bayern Munich next!!

Yea. Next Season

Torres is shit , d bitch always falling down or giving bad pass.

Take time. d man is not a physical player. and in that arsenal game, if he made 3 bad passes, he made plenty. if is one thing he does well is distribute the ball and assist.

This is why AVB is a dunce...should never have gotten rid of Anelka and Alex...

why are people stll calling this man's name. you all got what u wanted, he was fired. get off d man back
