The man league was very Popular indeed and Jack shut it down
You might not be a fan of Jack the person and you are well aware of his character. But as corrupt as he is there is not one person in power that works harder than Jack does, and there is no one whose accomplishments on the international stage can stand up against Jack's. Those are known facts.
If you can't give credence to what Jack has been able to accomplish for this country then more power to you.
As worried as I am about him in power, I have much more confidence in him accomplishing something in government compared to any of them incompetent administrators we've gotten used to.
he got rid of the competiton dinho
Yuh see that moving away from the Privy Council thing. De last UNC administration was for it. They ended up in the opposition and changed their minds.http://www.caribbeancourtofjustice.org/about.htm
Ever since then we still going to the Privy Council. I don't remember Kamla saying that they would bring legislation to make the CCJ our highest court, which would be going back to their original position. It was one of the questions I had and was hoping it would have been answered during the campaign season....
Benefitting from Jack is rarely portrayed as positive on this forum, hence my purposely apparently confusing statement.right!!
Why does it pain so much to afford a man the recognition he so richly deserves?Congratulations on winning Chaguanas West my Man
Jack has done so much and done so well, not only politically, but in business as well. That his dealings may be suspect or immoral is a topic well discussed and debated and will not continue in this particular post.
What will be however, is Jack's potential benefit to our football.
Haven't we benefitted enough? Whether negative or positive? Or are we all disguised hypocrites who have their hand out because 'daddy get a big wuk'?
Jack's affiliation (interference) with our football should remain unchanged. Do you expect Jack to throw sums of money in football's direction because his party has now been elected into government? Wasn't he doing that before? Or have we all gotten more greedy and are now mirroring the very trait Jack possesses that we claim to abhor?
For those who may not be so showered with the waters of knowledge, or those whose knowledge has been evaporated by the intense heat of ignorance, Jack does not need Trinidad's money. While he can do with it and surely will not refuse it...he does not NEED it.
Football will remain the same...the beneficiary of Jack's benevolence, via his personal wealth, or the beneficiary of govt funding (as in the previous administration) via his new found political power. Similarly, it may suffer ffrom the opposite.
Has there ever been an elected female Prime Minister in the Caribbean before Kamla ?in 1977, Lucinda da Costa of the Netherlands Antilles, was the first woman elected in her own right as head of government in the Americas.
"Dreads (E) A violent group of disaffected youth who branched away from mainstream Rastafarianism in Dominica during the 1970s. Persons described as Dreads because of their lifestyle and "dread locks" took to living in the forest, raiding the gardens of farming communities and, particularly in the southern half of Dominica, some were responsible for the deaths of a number of citizens in isolated areas. As a mood of panic hit the island, The Prohibited and Unlawful Societies and Associations Act was passed in 1974, commonly called "The Dread Act". The wearing of grass skirts for clothes was also banned. Certain persons questioned the constitutionality of these measures. In August 1975 a Commission of Enquiry was established to look into the situation and its social causes. After a lull of some years, events reached a climax in 1981 when a group of Dreads, assisted secretly by members of the now defunct Defence Force, were found to be associated with plans to overthrow the Dominica Freedom Party government. The "Dread Act" was repealed and replaced by The Terrorist Act. By 1982 the "Dread period" could be said to have been over."They called margerrete tacher the iron lady, but i feel this charles woman was the real forkin iron lady yes!! imagine she ban all rasta from dominica and no body with the hairstyle was allowed in the country!Has there ever been an elected female Prime Minister in the Caribbean before Kamla ?
Eugenia Charles was Dominica's Prime Minister from 1980-1995.
she run dat place with ah iron fist! fellas couldn't make ah note , or else is hangman noose in yuh rass!
Winning Post right hereThe government cannot directly "run" football. I want to see how this going and work. Will JW continue to be the spokes person for the TTFF/TTFA? Will this be seen as government intervention?
Our football not getting any better anytime soon, we just have to deal with it.
Well he is only a "Special Advisor" no more no less so i expect business as usual
most of this still confusing to me yes..it seems like a drug lord has more power than a PM..The ruling Party, lead by Bruce Golding, were supporters of Mr Christopher "Dudus" Coke.
ya beating this "jinks" ting tonite ehMaybe she can answer how she intends to deal with crime.
Yuh eh easy ... why does it matter at this point? If it wasn't distilled during the election why bother now?
Juliana Pena was de first prime minister... Patrick "projek manager" Manning was she puppet....oh gaddoh
Manning do shit...yes we all agree but we now have a government with a constitutional majority.....Win lose or draw our politicians are not mature enough to understand the responsibility that comes with a constitutional majority...!!!The "status quo bias" in TnT politics does not give me much encouragement
"Et tu, Jacke?"Let me just point out that the people's partnership did not win this election... the UNC did as it has won 21 seats and has the majority on its own. A collation is not formed until after the results, not before. Given that UNC has won 21 there is really no collation government officially.
your political science is weak
elaborate please
you started off by saying that a coalition is not formed until after elections. There is such a thing as a pre electoral coalition. Like the NAR. Like the PP. You just witnessed it.
Now whether it remains one is left to be seen... but Brutus is an honourable gentleman
they are now dropping bombs on tivali. like crazy, i think the trying to flatten tivoli.
So i heard..buh me eh see any official news reports bout it. This...is rel madness.
yow i have no mercy for these fools, a while a go the JDF was in armored vehicle clearing road blocks and gun man came right up to the vehicle firing shot like they were invincible, the JDF kill them all. they so stupid, am wondering if they are on drugs or something. some U.S army is already on the ground, some are in the air mapping out the direction of criminals so the ground army can do their job. they have finally move into Tivoli today.
is just a different way to do it I guesshow come the "Other" party have so many votes in all the ridings/
Election Ridings Map - http://www.ctntworld.com/imap/
thanks this is the best map so i found so far..(better than both Guardian and Express)..when you click on each constituency you can see the most recent tally of votes vote count done start in caroni central
I want to believe yuh being sarcastic ...de constituencies with 100% votes for "other" has not started counting their votes yet...check the scenario with Couva north and Fyzabad..as of right now both parties have huge leads in those constituencies
how come the "Other" party have so many votes in all the ridings/

yeahI pondering.
The allegations of poll clerks not signing ballots. How dat go work?
If 4000 voters turn up to vote....they cross 4000 names off the list. But...when they check the ballots, quite a few are missing signatures of the poll clerks. What can be done?
If you check..and see...4000 voters ....but 5000 ballots present......and some missing signatures....then...you could infer that those ballots were planted.
If you check..and see 4000 ballots...and 4000 names crossed off the list....then you could infer that it hadda be a serious breach of proceedure..which is de responsibility of the poll clerk!
Why anybody go take a risk like dat? It eh like yuh could get away.
Just heard on TV 6 that a ballot without the requisite signature will not be counted as spoilt......
Right. So following with that...this is my question.
4000 voters voted. 5000 ballots counted. 1000 without signatures.
No question marks?
Hush nah... how allyuh "disrespecting" Trini journalism so?YoutsTruly, I never see ah bowler get lash like this
To paraphrase the saying... better to remain idle and have the nation think your profession is shambolic, than log on to the internet and remove all doubt.
