General Discussion / Re: PNM interim leader
« on: May 27, 2010, 10:39:57 PM »
none ah allyuh know nutten about de PNM.

leh meh rest ah education on allyuh!

Manning was removed after numerous signatures were put on a petition of sorts.  He was told he ahd to resign, it eh come from he.  He eh fall on he own sword!  the party may say he resign because it is a very disclipined party.  it was Manning's plan to stay until the party voted, the party wanted none ah dat excpet ah few.  Dey were INFORMED that the interim leader was Rowley and Manning resigned.

Rowley was asked to be interim leader, and he accepted.  Party has to vote, his appointment is thus temporary!

thanks, hope this clears up the confusion!
yes, the article I quoted above says that he was forced out

uhh. with all respect to dr. rowley, he did say that himself as well as others knew about the alleged corruption on UDECOTT since 2002. that's quite some time to be holding a secret from the public. he kept his mouth shut in the public domain up to the time he was relieved of his post. what would have happened if he was never fired? i would really like it if beckles decides to run for political leader. even thought rowley burst the government's files i havent gained much respect for him due to the circumstances in which he did it.

uhh... all dem UNC people sit through the airport tiefing, including Kamla, and they still ent say nutting to today (and dont fool yourself into thinking she did not know what was going on!)
At least Rowley fight corruption internally for a while now before going public. That is better than most politicians.
what are your thoughts on ramesh?
now that you say that
I wonder when warner going to produce that "File" on Kamla that he showed ramesh?

Jack Warner for Minister of National Security please.

Jack does not what a ministeral post!
Apparently he will have to resign his FIFA post if he takes one! So Jack will remain PP/UNC chairman and play a similar role like he does as special advisor for the TTFF!
That way he will not be officially responsible for any of the $hi% that happens!
Nice move Jackula, yuh ahead of them!

"UNC chairman Jack Warner said yesterday that he will be part of the Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s Cabinet-on her insistence.

’Initially I said I didn’t want any and I meant that seriously, but the Prime Minister insisted that I must be in her Cabinet and I said okay,’ Warner told the Express yesterday after Persad-Bissessar was sworn in as Prime Minister at Knowsley House, Port of Spain.

As an Opposition MP, Warner was the shadow Minister of National Security, Sport and Foreign Affairs."

He said yesterday that he was ready to serve and place his efforts into any portfolio he is given by Persad-Bissessar

I reading this today and wondering how Fifa allowing this to work, but then again, we talking bout Jack Warner.  Blatter didn't stop him from being a parliamentary rep, so why would he stop him from being a minister?  I await to see who is brave enough to broach this with Fifa.
Tenorsaw
ya serious man?
as an esteemed poster on here told me once

In other words
FIFA, Seap Bladder and Jack will not allow "Outsiders" (people who do not live the fifa lifestyle) to act that way.
Keep the Sharpers inside the FIFA family

i feel only penny may have appeal to rival kamla.

If u check it, PNM dont really have much options right now. Rowley can pull the party core base, but what about wooing other voters - i dont think he can- and core bases are no longer sufficient in winning elections. T&T ppl maturing slowly but surely.
yeah
what is it going to take to raise the overall EI of the general public after so many years of the "same old same old" types of political garbage that the leaders throw at us.

West Coast wah yuh say ?..this was a good move ?..
I think that it is a Great move and I hope that he is successful on June 27th
From what he says he seems to have the best intentions for the country
His heart is in the right place
Is the "Status Quo" he will have to convince to bring about change
I wish him well

That would be an excelent question for a reporter to pose to him
But i believe that is probably why he was fired after he worked from within the party for change
but as they sometimes say
"better late than never"

Congrats to him..I look forward to see what type of relationship will Rowley and Imbert have. Also what is the political future of Ms Beckles ?..and I heard Conrad Enill also resigned..

I think rowley will have problems with this current crop of MPs. Remember, no one stood with him, and i think they may ultimately blame rowley and not manning for the predicament that they are in.

but these are the ame reps who must have wanted him to be interim leader..right ?..How else can he become interim leader without a majority support from the reps ?..(just thinking ahead here for a moment)

manning's resignation
"PNM Party Chairman Conrad Enill has informed the media that the General Council of the PNM has declared Dr. Keith Rowley as the interim Opposition Leader after former Prime Minister Patrick Manning resigned from the post at Balisier House today."

Lets hope that Common Sense prevails and they realise that the future of the party is at stake and puts their support behind him

Let me ask something. I'm not a expert on the westminster system, my experience is from in the US.

There's a lot of talk about reform and then term limits as the main idea.

But I haven't seen any discussion on the selection of candidates. Why do the parties appoint them instead of having a primary election in the district. And what the hell are the residency requirements - you could just run in any district they put you ???
Not only that EMan but I have seen where a Party Leader has lost his seat in an election, then turns around and get an elected member to resign and then they have a by-election in that "SAFE" riding so that the party leader could get elected :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

WC, who was this ???
Ribbit, check it
"However, Bourassa lost his seat to the Parti Québécois candidate Jean-Guy Parent. In 1986, he was elected in a by-election in the Liberal stronghold of Saint-Laurent after the MNA, Germain Leduc, left his seat vacant."

I remember that like it was yesterday

Poor Manning , i never see a man single handedly shit down he self so nah stueps. the man was the best thing to happen 2 years ago, Now he is the dog shit hmmm. Imagine PNM strong holds votes UNC, how d hell Arima and La Horquetta vote UNC totally blow me off my seat. I living in Arima all meh life, Voting anything other than PNM is blasphemy hmmm. Hard luck eh Manning ah rel sorry, but yuh look for that. Doh fork with Arima People again, they go out yuh lights.

De more i think bout it...the more i doubting he do that under he own volition.

Manning and Panday have a meeting at PM's residence..to talk bout "issues of national importance."
Immediately after...Panday calls UNC internal elections.
Panday loses.....Kamla takes over.
Immediately after this....Manning calls a general elections....for no clear reason yet. He coulda ride out the no confidence motion. Is 26 seats he had compared to 15. Meaning he had 11 seats as a buffer. Why pelt dat away?

It have more in de pestle dan de mortar.
very very interesting indeed
keep us informed ;)

just got this in an email

BULL SHITT!!!

Why TnT, in their re-building prcoess, use the WC teams and good, practice, international friendlies??? USA, MEXICO, HONDURAS and COSTA RICA, would ALWAYS be ahead of us. Costa Rica did not make the WC, but the played France today and lost 2 -1. Who de f*** TnT playing?? Jamaica?? We would NEVER learn and we MAY NEVER see another WC, or may NEVER reach the level of the big boys in CONCACAF, if we keep doing the same nonsense. We played Chile last month, which is good. Why not continue with the international teams and keep pushing and gaining the experience????????????????
easy

Burrell is Jack pardna and they just want to celebrate the fact that Jack fandangle the scene in the JFF for Burrell to take over again and that Jack just got elected.......dais all

TI, ah think ya quote the wrong post ;D

;D my bad bro... didnt realize that, was responding to royal...

but to answer this question also, the tt electoral system, along with the framework of the t constitution is heavily based still on the old uk model, which in my opinion needs to be changed within the next 5-10 years.

Apparently, the UK is changing it. They making the House of Lords an elected Chamber now...
well stephen harper during his last elction campaign here in canada insisted that he would introduce an elected senate
but
as we all know
sweet ting HARD to give up and he has appointed many

I eh know how yet, but he get rid of Panday so he could definitely get rid of Kamla...especially cause she not as surrounded with loyal subjects since it have men like Dooks and McLeod there with there own agenda.
well I hope that she gets her own singular advisors as she will need them

well in Canada the ruling Government tries to "pad" the upper house in their favour by appointing people who are sympathetic to their way of thinking, thus ensuring that bills will pass.
