Well done to the Warriors.  Keep it up.

Someone please explain to me why Hewitt ran the anchor leg of the relay final? smh enough disappointments at this CWG
Whatever leg Hewitt ran, we would have got the bronze.  He simply is to slow at this level.  Without Lendore and Cedenio it was always going to be difficult.

6
Ja, Naija, Eng in the women 4x400. Our girls was 5th. After the first leg, I realised our girls had no chance at all. They have a lot of work if they want to go Rio.
Until our women start making finals,  I won't be expecting much more.

7
Well done to Joanne Lucas for making the 100MH final.  Shows she's is in form and would have also made the final of the 400m H had she not false started.  Where has she been the past 3 years?

8
Piss poor from Lucas.  False starting in the 400m H is unforgiveable.

Hopefully MLA's injury is not serious although it looks like a hammy.  Good double on the night though.

Not paid much attention to the national team for the past few years. Anyway all best to the guys.

12
The men's 4x4 team looks good.

13
Congrats to Jehue
Much more relaxed running style than previous years is paying off. Anyone know if he is still based in T&T or now in the US?

Rudisha was sensational but the 2nd and 3rd places went to teenagers. The times these guys ran were unbelievable for teenagers. Those who tried this event will know what I'm talking 'bout.

16
Not impressed by Bledman. He runs too much like a robot. A medal will be difficult on that evidence.

17
Jehue should be included in the 4X4.

Not just the top 4 batsmen are to blame, but the WICB and coach as well. How many England players missed this series as a result of the IPL?= 0. Compare that with the west indies IPL players who should be in the team. Gayle, Narine, Bravo. I will suggest we will win the one dayers with a full strength squad.

The coach, well, how on earth can these batsmen be so susceptible to LBW and it not be corrected by the coach. These guys forever playing back to balls they should be forward to. What's the point of a coach?

had a nice clip with Akram showing how Narine spins the ball totally different to anyone else.
hopefully he will be here in the UK for the ODI series. By then the pitches should be a little friendlier to spin as with the weather right now it is a swing bowlers heaven

Have you got tickets for the ODI in de Oval? I have got tickets and will be going with a trini posse in the Pater May Stand. Looking forward to the IPL boys in de team.

The only villa Yorke will ever manage is a holiday home in Tobago!

This guy is a genius. Hope he keeps it up.

the team that should play in the 1st test:

Barath
Deonarine
Edwards
Bravo
Chanderpaul
Baugh
Sammy
Roach
Rampaul
Bishoo
Edwards

imo both powell and KB are wasted picks, should be nowhere near the team and cannot open with Barath, the selectors have messed up in regards to that decision. You have a player like nash that should have been picked ahead of powell or KB to play. West Indies are now a batsman short and it would be a risk to play 5 bowlers. Normally deonarine would fill the #6 spot but he is better suited to open especially against australia, Barath cannot have the pressure placed on him solely.

Don't agree with you. There is no way Deonarine will open so the team will look like this:
Barath
Braithwaite/Powell
K Edwards
Bravo
Chanderpaul
Deonarine
Baugh
Sammy
Rampaul
K Roach/F Edwards
Bishoo

Rampaul may even miss out in favour for Edwards and Roach. Can't see us playing 5 bowlers.

Is Baugh really the best keeper in the Windies? The guy cannot bat, so you are batsman short (pardon de pun), once he is in the team. What a pull stones!

Smith will get strangled with quality spin. Look what t&t do him in t20 final.

That goes for most of the Windies players. Gayle, Pollard and Sammy are also weaker at playing spin than pace. Smith plays all over the world for different teams so clearly they have seen something in him. Hopefully he can improve his ability to read and play spin.

Need Kemar in de mix.  I thought Charles had a good 50 over series, not too sure of his T20 record.  Samuel is definitely a goat; hopefully Russell gets fit quick

IMO Fidel is more potent and Rampaul is more economic than Roach. I don't think we should play 3 fast bowlers in a T20 game, particularly when we have the medium pacers, Bravo, Pollard, Sammy and Russell. So for me, Roach just misses out if everyone is fit.

For me Charles can't get pick before Gayle and Dw Smith. Maybe in time, but once Gayle is playing for the Windies, him and Smith are top class batsmen than can destroy any bowling attack. Smith has definitely underachieved as he has more talent than most of the other Windies batsmen.

The team is making progress in the limited overs version of the game. The Trini contingent of Simmonds, Ramdin and Rampaul will strengthen the team. Not sure yet about small Bravo in limited overs. He appears to need time to play himself in. Add Russell to the mix and we could challenge the big boys.

The players that have to be dropped are Charles, Baugh, Mathurin and Samuels.

My starting eleven for the T20 WC
Gayle (if issues resolved)
Dwayne Smith
Simmonds
Dwayne Bravo
Pollard
Ramdin
Russell
Sammy
Narine
Rampaul
Fidel Edwards

I know its easy to make comments after the event about what we should or shouldn't do etc, etc, but I feel that some of our players sometimes dont understand what is required.I wonder if the coach couldn't send a message to Barath and let him know that it was his duty to bat on for as long as possible without taking chances, had he done that we would have won.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/west-indies-v-australia-2012/engine/match/540172.html?view=runrate

All I am saying is that it is a team game and each and everyone have their part to play. But I agree with you, once Barath gets a bit more experience and composure he will be a very good player.

To lay it all on Barath is unfair IMO. Charles, the 2 Bravos, Baugh and Narine all played poor shots given the circumstances. Barath contributed 42 runs, which was more than those 5 players combined.
