Football / We do not need to win by 2 clear goals
« on: June 19, 2008, 10:29:10 AM »
I have heard and read in the press that we need to win by 2 clear goals against Bermuda on Sunday. That is incorrect. As long as we score more that 2 away goals, we will be through. For eg, if we won by one goal, lets say 3-2, the aggregate score will be 4-4, but we would have scored more away goals than them. By my knowledge of the rules we would qualify on that basis.

Even a 2-1 win for us, would see, extra time/penalties.

Football / FA cup: Who yuh supportin'
« on: May 17, 2008, 01:02:19 AM »
With 2 'unfancied' teams in the final this year, the FA cup should be a classic. The big teams are notious for producing boring finals. Pompey should win, but Cardiff seem to have the Welsh dragon spirit with them this year. I goin' for Pompey 2-1.

Football / Just met up with Kenwyne
« on: May 14, 2008, 12:01:29 PM »
My rel breds does locks in SW London so he told me he was coming to have them done today. I went over there, and met the man himself. If someone could remind how to upload photos, I will publish the evidence.

He told me that he 'might' play against England and all he needs is fresh air and he will recover in time. He stated that he has a chip bone in the affected wrist. A soft cast is in place, and I have seen nough footballers play with that type of cast. He is travelling to Trini tomorrow. Stern already there and Carlos arriving in the next week and a half.

The man rel cool. My breds ask him what he drinking, he replied, 'bring anyting'... he was then served with an alcoholic beverage.

My request for a ticket from was'nt sucessful, so looks like I reallly have to storm!

Football / We are going up!
« on: May 05, 2008, 02:51:08 PM »
My local team AFC Wimbledon got promoted to the Blue Square League (south) last Saturday. This is the 6th tier of English Football. The team was formed in 2002 after Wimbledon FC (winners of the 1988 FA cup) moved to Milton Keynes and became MK Dons. Look out for us in the premiership in 6 yrs time!

Football / Portmouth starting 11
« on: April 28, 2008, 03:31:46 PM »
I noticed that Pompey stated the match yesterday with an "all black" outfield team. This must have been a first in the EPL. Only the keeper was white and if David James was not injured the entire team would have been black. Shows that football has come a long way in England. It was not that long ago many teams would not even pick a black player.

Football / Ghana 2- 3 Germany

Fantastic game. Both teams are strong in attack but vulnerable in defence. T&T will have to do very well to advance from this group.

An very exciting game. The result gives T&T or Ghana a good opportunity to control the group by winning later. Good luck young warriors.

Football / Is there another No. 13 in International football
« on: June 16, 2006, 11:14:20 AM »
Glenn's number looks unusual for a player, because lots of people are superstitous when it comes to No. 13. I cant think of another team who has/had a no.13. Can anyone else.

Football / Do's and dont's for Beenie
« on: June 01, 2006, 03:53:22 PM »
Football is a game of opinions, so just in case de technical team visit de site for some inspiration, try dis for an improved performace against de Checzs ;D
Do's:
1. Do play Dwight in a more attacking role not a defensive midfielder
2. Do play Carlos as a right winger not a right back
3. Do start with Samuel on de left wing
4. Do unleash Latas and Jones at some point in de game

Dont
1. Don't play Cyd as a central defender
2. Don't start with bleeder

Ah going to Paris for the weekend, so ah hope de hotel show de game. Ah hoping for an improved performance from the Warriors.

Football / How it go look
« on: June 01, 2006, 03:58:02 AM »
Right now the man on the team who playing with the most passion and commitment is Birchall. The man fighting for everything, even with the opponents! If this happens in the WC, what will it tell the world about us as a people? Why cant other other players show that level of passion and commitment? Ah aint expecting miracles, just blood, sweat and tears for when in the T&T colours.

Football / Who would you start with, Samuel or Glenn
« on: April 16, 2006, 05:44:36 AM »
For my money, that is the only outfield position in the starting 11 that is in doubt.

Gray                             Andrews                       Lawrence                           A.John

                                  Birchall                          Whitley
Edwards                                                                                                Samuel/Glenn
                                                      Yorke

                                                       John

Football / Is this the highest ever jump to score a goal?
« on: November 22, 2005, 03:03:41 PM »

Memories of the goal scored by Francois Oman Biyik when Cameroon upset Argentina in the 1990 World Cup by beating them 1-0.

That was some jump!

Football / Big up all who were in the F3K in London
« on: November 13, 2005, 06:03:58 AM »
Very good Trini vibes, but sorry we could'nt link up. Saw people there that I had not seen for donkey years! The Steel band and food was da bomb!

As for the game, well the midfield did not click. Latas and Yorke did not have good games in my opinion. Maybe fear of failure again got to them. Stern got no service. Edwards did some nice dribbling, but his end product could have been better. I kept thinking..."give the ball to Stern and he'll score"! Alas, it was not to be! I think the nerves got to these guys and they will be more relaxed away from home. The goal we conceded was a soft one (poor marking). There were enough defenders in the box to clear that cross. We all know that this was a below par Warrior performance.

I think we need to play 4-4-2 on Wednesday, with Stern and Dwight up front. Bahrain will try to defend as much as they can, so one man up front will be no good to us.

I'll be in F3K again on Wednesday, because win lose or draw, I'm a Soca Warrior!

Ah really hoping that we doh have no Mickey Mouse ting like 1989! BTW where is the T&T team staying this time?

Apparently he got a head knock in a challenge. Not sure how serious it is, as it may have been a pre-caution.
