:applause: for Sammy. If we could get the entire team with that level of commitment, we will be good to go. Sammy is not the most talented, but he is a fighter. They must drop Samuels and Baugh. Samuels has been pulling stones for years and Baugh has always been brainless.

I'm concerned about small Bravo loss of form, but don't know what the answer is. He has not scored many runs since the India/Bangladesh tour. Big Bravo is experienced enough now to be batting more responsibly than he does.

Anyway, hope we win the T20 series.

I'm backing we boys to take the series today.

Didn't see the game, but just watched the highlights above. Why do T&T defenders always suffer from ballwatchingitis. Check out most of the Mexicans goals and you will see want I mean. Several defenders were merely ball watching in the penalty area. That is real school boy stuff. You can't beat anybody if you defend like that.

34
Thank God Samuels out! This guy is the biggest pull stones in the current WI. team. I'll be glad when he is no longer part of the team.

35
Still did well to even have a chance after 78-5 and then again at 190-8. I thought it was over each time. Considering that we just ended a 13-match losing streak against the Aussies I think 2 games unbeaten is something take. Against India and Pakistan last year we were losing after being in competitive positions. We haven't turned the corner yet (nor will we for some time again), but it's encouraging not to be 0-3 down.

Bravo has the class that those other batsmen could only dream about. Form is temporary but class is class.

I never thought I would say it, but the WI is improving. The middle and lower order is competitive with the bat. It is long time since we could say that. The bowling is good and will be strengthened with Rampaul. The problem is the top order is too weak at present. We need Bharath and Simmons to return and small Bravo to start making some runs and we will be good to go.

Cricket Anyone / Re: New faces for the 4 day game

I know the current team is young, but it would be good to see some new faces in the squad for the 4 day game. Particularly when a few of them go off to the BPL. I have heard a lot about Shannon Gabriel and would like to see him get a bowl. Any other up and coming stars I should look out for?
This tread have all the tryouts for the last 20 20 ,lots of names .

Anyone who is surprised by this result, knows nothing about football. Warriors has played crap since 2006. The preparation, organisation and motivation of the team is useless. And if you all think this is bad, wait until Antigua and St. Kitts start cutting we arse. If we continue to organise football in the way we do, it will happen!

Cricket Anyone / Re: If Afghanistan can achieve ODI Status, so can T&T
« on: October 06, 2011, 12:36:50 AM »
What would be the point of that? If T&T were given associate membership status, that would be the end of CLT20, as it would be the championship club of the member the represent. Also, only clubs from the full members participate in CLT20. So that would most likely rule out 'Preysal'.

No way the T&T population has the resources to support full membership and play test matches. That's just wishful thinking.

I admit that a current full strength T&T team could beat the WI in any form of the game, but that's not a surprise. The current WI is everybody's 'bobolee'.

Cricket Anyone / Who to drop to make way for Bravo and Pollard
« on: October 05, 2011, 10:11:05 AM »
The team has a good fighting spirit, but Bravo and Pollard should be picked on merit if available. I say the Ganga brothers are the ones that should make way. But we know how much politics there is sport in the caribbean.

Condolences to the St Louis family. I remember him well from the '80s.

An easier way is to find out who her cousins are in Trini and encourage them to take up athletics. They could have the same sprinting genes. That's a win-win situation. The UK gets to keep Jodie and we get our own track star!

The 8 players missing in action are (all in India):
Bharath
Gayle
Simmonds
Bravo Darren
Bravo Dwayne
Pollard
Ramdin
Rampaul

That is a lot of talented payers to be without.

Kai Selvon has the potential to run close to 11s next season if not to also join the Sub-11s Club!
We must not forget the great potential she showed and how well she ran in Daegu in the 200m!
Here is a link to her bio: http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/biographies/country=tri/athcode=242992/index.htm

Definitely. Hard training, proper coaching, diet, motivation and a level head will be the key. Oh and not too much limin'.

This Windies T/20 team dont seem to have a clue of how to play this game, such a good start by Smith and Charles should have been properly used.Hyatt seems the only one who understands T/20,Smith is hit or miss.

Correct! They don't seem to know what the hell they're doing! I expected Sammy to come in a lot earlier than he did and try to get the RR up again rather than send in the debutantes in tough conditions....but I guess i was expecting too much . Even Andre Russel could have come in a bit earlier as well. New team, same old rubbish....Like Nasser Hussien aptly summed up, " same old Calypso calapso"   >:(

I did not expect any different from this 'B' team. Maybe only Bishoo, Russell and Edwards should make a full strength windies team. The rest of those guys are crap.

IMHO Hackett will also need to improve her technique to go sub 11. More upright in the second half of the race, higher knee lift and straighter arm movements. I saw KAB a few years ago and her technique was also very poor. No surprise that her current form has corresponded with an improvement in her technique.

One more thing- in the 4x100m did you see the poor form that Michelle has?

Agreed. She has a very poor technique, yet very talented. If her coach is Ken Barton from Spectrum, I will not hold my breath for her technique to improve. A friend told me that her mum used to run for Hampton and had one of the best running techniques in Trini. I cant remember who her mum is, but if that is the case, maybe MLA should should get some tips from her mum.

Im done, because you keep answering, despite saying you are done.

You do not have to convince me that the J'cans are clean. I started by saying IMHO. I'm entitled to my opinion and so are you. And how the hell did crime get into this? Talk about straying off the subject!

Socapro you are missing my point. MJ never tested positive. She confessed, that is 2 different things.

Secondly, it is clear that you will believe anytime anyone runs, so long as they have not tested positive or confessed to drug taking. That my friend is a very naive view.

The racist and right wing groups have freedom of speech though.

erm, no they don't. Not in the UK anyway. People have been banned from football grounds for racial chanting. Why do you think you do not hear that sort of thing at UK football grounds anymore? Unlike in Spain and Italy.

History will be the judge, but too many of their sprinters are running ultra quick times. That 19.26 by Blake, yesterday, confirmed it for me. The guy did not even look 'flat out'.

Remember, Flo Jo, Marion Jones and the chinese middle and long distance runners in the 1990s never tested positive.

Wasn't Marion Jones found guilty of using performance enhancement drugs in the end?

Also note that back in the day the drugs testing procedures were not as stringent as they are now!!

Athletes who try to cheat today are highly likely to be caught especially if they are breaking records and are Jamaican as they will be put under the microscope and targeted for regular tests!

As far as I am concerned if Bolt & Blake or any of the other Jamaican sprinters are not tested positive thru the numerous tests they have to go thru on a regular basis then as far as I am concerned they are clean!

As Trini_2014 said above if they are using drugs they WILL be caught! These days they are way more stringent than they used to be back in the day with drug testing athletes, hence why the USA are getting their asses whipped by the Jamaicans and others these days!

No, Marion Jones was never caught using PED. All her tests were negative, despite others in her camp like Tim Montgomery and CJ Hunter testing positive. What she went to prison for was lying under oath by saying she never used PED. When she later confessed, she was convicted for perjury.

Are you guys saying that if someone runs 18.9 secs for the 200, that is all down to natural talent?

IMHO, DB has had too many injuries to ever be a major force again (too much scar tissue). So I am doubtful whether he will run under 10 secs in the future.

59
Option 1
no way

Option 2
double no way

That was easy.

What sort ah laziness is that BDB!! Make ah little effort and indulge in the exercise ah little nah, yuh might be surprise by the possibilties and results!!   ;)

Soca, that's not laziness, that's brutal honesty. Of course is the US gets dq'd, drop their baton, or a runner pulls a hammy during the race, anything is possible!
