The best 11 players will not necessarily make the best TEAM. From what I hear and read, we need Birchall in the middle. The team that controls in midfield will win this game.

Some Ghanaians will burn his family house down just for spite! Dey don't make joke.

Thanks man.

Football / Who is the most under rated Warrior?
« on: October 11, 2005, 07:35:03 AM »
Haven't seen any games recently, so just interested. You know, the player that does their thing quietly and effectively, but never wins 'man of the match'. Yet if this player was not playing, the team will not 'click'.

Football / Re: Congrats are in order

Congrats to the Warriors!! Sorry I cant be there Wednesday.

1. 2 Things You remember first about yuh childhood:
1. Toting water (one of my first memories)
2. Kite flying, pitching marbles, 'Bounce and X' and collecting 'stars'. Dem was real happy days

2. Something we would have never guessed you did:
1. Came first on Teen Talent in the prelims, in the early 80's. I was a wicked tenor man! Got knocked out in the semi's though.

2. Played for All Stars for 5 years. Last did in 86 when we won with 'Hammer'

3. Sat next to Ian Bishop, the year I repeated in Belmont Sec.

3. Most Embarrassing Moments:
Ah Convent ting father actually catch we in the act on dey floor! I still surpised that man didn't kill me that day! Wha' a go say, she did real like panmen!

4. Craziest Moments:
1. Walking from town to San Juan on the Priority Bus Route to go and line up outside Ritz cinema with mih pardners for the Late show. Dat was a real experience. John Holmes wasn't easy nah!

2. A friend and I met a woman on Park street one night. We never saw this woman before and never saw her after. We spent a good few hours with her liming a going to parties (no sex). Up to this day I convinced she was a Soucouyant!

5. Most Funniest:
My father jump in Fathers race in school sports and pull a 'Hammy' during the race. He was limping for weeks after dat.

6.Happiest Moment:
Too much to mention. Marriage, kids, first home, etc, etc

7. Proudest:
Too much to mention. One example, is shaking 'Robbie' hands when he was Prime minister in 86! Probably the only time I will shake the hands of a 'sitting' Prime minister.

8. Moment Yuh miss most:
School days in T&T.

9. Most Shameful Moment:
I once 'break beach' when I was 5, because I did not do my home work. My teacher Ms Rodney found out and boy dat was licks the next day! Come to think of it, I never 'broke beach' after that day. So that lickin' served its purpose. May her soul rest in peace!

Who next?

Latas for being the 'General'

Brain for his overlapping ability ("watch de man on de wing"!!)

Hutson and Marvin tied for 3rd. Hutson for being a work horse and Marvin for playing 'sexy football'

Thanks for the helpful info Tallman. You are like a human encyclopedia. Actually, I know it is now known Belmont Secondary, as it was also called that when I left in the mid 80's. That team of the mid 70's was class!! I wonder what ever became of dem fellas!

Nice to hear that the Little Magician still has some magic. Congrats to the team though, as it is 11 men on the field. Hopefully, Stern will stop pulling stones now and lead us to the 'promise land'.
