Brent Sancho set to sign for Brighton.

Former Dens defender Brent Sancho is set to sign for Coca-Cola Championship side Brighton. Relegation from the SPL meant Dundee were not in a position to offer the Trinidad international a new deal.
The 28-year-old impressed as a trialist against Lewes at the weekend and has talks planned with Seagulls boss Mark McGhee later this week.
With Kilmarnock and Livingston showing an interest, Sancho had the chance to remain north of the border, but fancies testing himself in England.
“I played in a trial game at the weekend and did OK, so, hopefully, something will happen. Brighton are a good club going places and this is a lovely part of the world, so I’m keen to stay here,” he said.
“The manager has seen me in training as well now and we’re going to talk things over. “I loved my time in Scotland, but I’ve always wanted the chance to play in England.
“The Championship is a great league with some really well-known clubs, so it’s a chance to play in big games every week.”
Boss Jim Duffy was happy with the performance of his players in yesterday’s closed door friendly against Blackburn reserves.
The game finished 2-2 with new signing Simon Lynch among the goals. He is set to be on duty again against Raith Rovers at Stark’s Park tomorrow night.

But I was looking at Jabloteh's Terry Fenwick's story.

Terry Fenwick (Northampton Town)

Former England international Terry Fenwick was another manager who arrived at a lower league club to a fanfare. It was a fanfare that was soon replaced by the cries of pain from supporters as they watched their players run around the pitch with no leadership or tactical awareness.

Fenwick took over at Sixfields just after the turn of the year in the 2002/03 season. He was in charge for just seven games over 47 days, during which the Cobblers failed to win a single game and picked up just two points.

They would not recover from a tenure of complete farce and Northampton finished bottom of the Second Division, five points adrift of Mansfield and a further six from the safety zone.

All that can be said in defence of Fenwick is that the team was not exactly performing well before his arrival - but they were even worse afterwards.

Fenwick's spell as Northampton boss is the second shortest in English football history. He was last seen at Ashford Town of the Ryman League First Division, a job from which he resigned in January - the club went on to finish third from bottom, avoiding relegation by one point.

Yorke ready to end career down under

Dwight Yorke revealed he is ready to end his career in Australia on the day he officially signed for new club Sydney FC.
The former Manchester United, Aston Villa, Blackburn and Birmingham striker is Sydney's marquee player, with rules for the inaugural A-League allowing the eight clubs to sign one star name above the salary cap of £600,000.

The 33-year-old, who jetted in yesterday a day late following problems with his baggage, has been given a car and accommodation as part of his package.

But Yorke, who has signed a two-year deal with an option for a third season, has suggested he may quit football when his current contract expires.

'There is a possibility that I may come to a decision that I don't want to be playing football anymore after the next two years,' revealed Yorke, who also made it clear his move down under was not about money.

'This is certainly not a money-orientated move because I could have gone to the Far East if I was thinking about money - no disrespect to Sydney.'

Football / Brent Rahim & Brent Sancho
« on: June 27, 2005, 01:57:40 PM »
Does anyone know if there are any offers for Sancho & Rahim or if they are linked with any clubs at the moment. At one point I read somewhere that Sancho was linked with Falkirk & Motherwell but nothing came of it and it seems unsubstantiated.
