He's born in Denmark and they have a lot of goal keeping talent. So it's TnT or nothing.
What's been done to Ranjitsingh is an injustice. I have heard excuses that they don't get to see many USL many matches but that doesn't fly when Hackshaw, Guerra, Nathan Lewis etc get regular call ups. I suppose because we're brimming with goalkeeping talent we can ignore a quality prospect like Greg. Jan Michael, Marvin Phillip are 34 years old, Adrian Foncette, 30. Ranjitsingh is the right age to start grooming for a significant role on the national team but we'll probably wait until he's looking to commit to Canada (who'll co-host a WC in 8 years) to show interest.

I thought we would have tried to physically impose ourselves on this Thai team much more. Possession was 50-50 but most of our possession was in our own third of the field. Thailand most deservedly won. Not sure if it was the humidity but we played too slow and predictable. They looked tired from early on. In a game like this a Kenwyne Jones type player would have made a massive difference.

WATCH: Trinidad and Tobago to play World Cup Qualifier against Honduras at Ato Boldon Stadium on Friday, September 1st at 8pm

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/llVqpIXPvtQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/llVqpIXPvtQ</a>

Very foolish decision by the federation to take the team to couva in traffic which reminds me of when they took the team to Tobago to play Costa rica in 2009. how could you take the team all the way to couva 45 minutes away when they could take a five minute ride to the hasely crawford where we have grown accustomed too. what would fat head DJW think of next. there's never dull moment in Trinidad football, what a bunch of brainless mooks.

I am not sure where the team will be based for this match but for the Gold Cup playoffs, which were played at the Ato Boldon Stadium, they were based in Cara Suites which is about a 15 minute drive.

Incredibly, if we win our next two games (Honduras at home and Panama away), we could possibly be in 4th spot.

Football / Re: Alvin Corneal Articles

I’m not let down.
By Alvin Corneal (Guardian).

Due to their pre-game preparations, the Soca Warriors appeared to have been more than ready for what the USA could produce, in terms of high altitude, increased ball speed and troublesome respiratory issues for the players. T&T went down 2-0 in a very tough, but competitive match-up.

Both teams recognised that any increased velocity during the early stages of the game may incite physical discomfort. After the first five minutes, which was filled with slow methodical build-up by both teams within their portions of the field, the quality of the game during that period appeared to demonstrate their intention of caution before aggression. But as time passed the USA recognised that coach Dennis Lawrence decided upon a “wait and see pattern” by rotating passes laterally and causing the opponents to chase from side to side.

There was good chemistry in the process as the back three of Daniel Cyrus, Sheldon Bateau and Mekeil Williams, showing a pattern of play which could have allowed five midfield players to combine ball possession and extra defensive strength.

Tactically, our system seemed to have been lopsided with Nathan Lewis, Mekiel Williams and Joevin Jones being left sided players. This was well done in defense, but the attacking process did not materialise. I was hoping and praying that the coaching staff made the decision to use a solid defender to mark the young German American Pulisic, whose goal scoring success over the past five matches should have invited the thought.

However, Hyland seemed to have been the player to do the job, but his first tackle on the youngster brought a serious warning from the referee early in the first half, a factor which would have received the signal to the former Mucurapo dynamo to transfer the responsibility to his defensive midfield partner Kevon George.

The plan did not work as Pulisic has a tremendous work rate and his blindsided runs towards the T&T goal, attracted the attention to the entire defense, causing space and time for Dempsey and Altidore to fire seven shots at Jean Michel Williams, whose brilliance showed up seven time in the first half alone, and if we understood the extra speed of the ball through the air space, you will appreciate the keeper’s brilliance even more.

It actually work as a challenge to keeper Tim Howard and as competent as he was in his career, he was forced into error when Hyland missed the target by centimetres, Edwards made him bungle a diving save, and misread Joevin Jones’ impeccable cross to Kenwyne Jones’ header. It was the gift of the night which may have turned the game the way of the visitors.

Unfortunately, two tactical errors brought victory for the USA. The both goals came from the right side for the USA with Nagbe making full use of the distorted defence line which Williams attempted to drift in central defence to offer some assistance. Pulisic’s blindsided run saw him rushing between two defenders and sliding the cross into the net. The second portion of his brace cam from the same position, but has tap in was much easier.

The statistics will show a two-nil victory, but the consolatory picture was a possible three goal opportunities for the Warriors and two of them before the Americans had scored. Possession percentage was almost equal, but an 8-5 advantage of goal chances gave the USA the victory they had worked for. Tough game, but home teams usually end up with a two-goal advantage if the teams are equal in strength.

Tuesday is another day and although Costa Rica was held to a draw by Panama the same night, our task is now more difficult, but not impossible. The game will be more exciting because both these teams will make use of skill and creativity rather than the robotic methods of the USA. Good luck Warriors.

I am personally not a fan of his opinions but most of what is said I agree. I just think that if you take the time to write such a piece, you should do the proper research. Christian Puliisic is not German American. He has a grand father that was Croatian. I am not sure what he was trying to infer by putting in that piece of information and not even getting it correct.

I go take a beating for what I'm about to say...but I don't think national players should get paid it represent the country. It's a privilege. Win something...as in a tournament, get ah lil raise, house and land...Other than that...it's a privilege and it allows other opportunities to come all yuh way. Just my humble opinion.
Lol, so only de men in suits and shirt jack should benefit while the men on the field, sticking they foot in wild tackle, risking they career for pride alone...?

Mints, I hear and agree about the risks. I specifically said I don't think players on the national team should get paid, unless they win a tournament, it is a privilege to play for your country.

Now what should 100% be afforded to the players are, proper meals, accommodation, training and training gear, transportation and insurance. Regarding the staff...as a soldier pointed out, staff could be anyone, they hv administrative suites and should be compensated fairly aligned with their position. Positions not limited to a coach and his staff, right down to the water boy...

So, isn't it a privilege to play for England, Germany, Mexico, Ghana, Bolivia etc also? Their players are paid. Once other countries are paying their players, our players will view not being paid as inequity in their minds and that will result in reduced performance on the field. When you play a sport and you're not paid for it...that's being an amateur, like my Sunday league. Being honoured to represent your national team and being paid for it, one should not affect the other imho.

Boat Cruise Jammers will be happy with Latas as a coach. He will join them on the boat lime and then they will run for 60 minutes and the Coach will say lack of Fitness was responsible for the late goals.
Latas will bring his friend Dwight to help him out with , the necessary addition of liming after each session. In all fairness to  Saintfiet , he never stood a chance with this C team that others picked for him.

I feel sorry for Saintfield. There were periods when the team didn't  look too bad.
But is only so much any Coach could do with the coming and going of so many players.

It good for the TTFA.

VB

He was a patsy for the TTFA (DJW) and did not realise. From that perspective I feel sorry for him. His tenure was ultimately doomed, he  marginalised some of our best players, our core of the last 3 years. Even if he was getting a mandate from above, he was burning bridges that surely he knew he would have needed if we were to collect any points in the next 8 games.

Guerra added to the T&T Roster for World Cup Qualifier against Costa Rica
TTFA Media

Trinidad and Tobago head coach Stephen Hart has added US-based midfielder Ataulla Guerra to his squad for Friday’s World Cup qualifier versus Costa Rica.

Guerra who is back in the country on offseason away from his club Charleston Battery, joined the T&T camp on Monday as the 24th player.

The 28-year-old midfielder made 26 appearances for Charleston Battery. He is a former player with Caledonia AIA, San Juan Jabloteh, Central FC and ROPS of Finland.

Maybe I reading into things too much. But this call up is a back in case SOMEONE does not show up by Wednesday..
Yep. I was thinking the same thing.

It's the 1990s/2000s all over again. I honestly thought in the dawn of the professional era we were past this.

Ah well,
One would have thought so, especially given what was at stake...a place in the Hex and possibly your manager's job.

In my very humble opinion, that was not very smart of the players. It does not create the correct optics for public opinion and not to mention was against the agreed rules of the camp. Two days before a crucial qualifier is trying to screw yourself, your team mates and your coach. The act of going on a boat ride is one thing but its the thought process behind it is another. I am fairly certain they know if they did that before a crucial club match, their club manager would have enormous problems and they wouldn't do it to jeopardise their position.

Marvin Phillip had a good game but there is something about him and Jan Michael that has me often feeling they likely to make a mistake that leads to a goal even when they're playing well.

Molino that plays for Orlando still has not turned up for T&T in this WCQ series so far.

When you're playing a well organised/better team, your offense has to be more clinical and play to your strengths. I can't remember any crosses coming into KJ to in the penalty box.

Bostock is needed in this midfield. This nonsense needs to be sorted out.

When I saw that 17 year, 145 lb Pulisic outfighting our players, I knew we were in trouble. Its one thing if its Altidore doing it, but jeez.

The Caribbean Cup qualifiers, we need to treat that competition very seriously and get our best players. It falls in the FIFA window and we can call our foreign based players. We play Dominican Rep and Martinique and its as useful an exercise as any.

When one has to spend approximately more than 90 minutes to get to the game because of traffic, then another 40 - 50 minutes to simply get into the stadium and get a seat, its quite difficult for some to find the energy to be vocal and exuberant. For this last game, you could not even get a cold alcoholic beverage (unless you wanted to stand in long lines and miss the action on the field) to reinvigorate the spirit. I agree fans must try to be vocal and support the team as opposed to watch the team. The TTFA and stadium event organisers must do a much, much better job in creating an environment conducive to fan enjoyment and participation.

The start of the Hex is November 11th and 2nd match is November 15th. Winner of Group C will play Mexico at home. Runner up of Group C will play winner of Group B (Costa Rica or Panama). List of fixtures below. Either way (winner or runners up) we start at home and end the campaign against the USA.

The undertone in this article is frightening.

This could mean the make or break for many people involved in Trinidad and Tobago football.  I cannot fathom the thought of replacing coach Hart.  I really hope this is simply mere speculation, because the removal of Hart could be the breaking point for many die hards.

But then again, we have a "2 weeks" mentality in this country, where we quickly forget the past and jump on the next available bandwagon.

Buh Andre...you carryin on as if you eh know who in charge of T&T football and what they capable of.

The evidence right before yuh eyes and yuh still bawlin bout speculation?

Read this and DIGEST bruh

Quote
New Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) president David John-Williams has already replaced the head coach of every other national football team as well as technical director Kendall Walkes. And the local football body advertised the positions of team manager and press officer last month.

How long is the term of DJW? The only thing keeping football alive in this country is the performances on the field of the national team. We've been making steady progress on the field, a lot of this progress can be quickly eroded with poor administration (granted its already very poor). Reading some of these things can be quite disheartening, one can only imagine what it is to try and work and perform to a high level under these ridiculous, self inflicted conditions.

Any update on Bostock? Supposed to be resolved today.

That is the million dollar question. It's 4pm est. Hence, we should've learned by now. I'm sensing another roadblock or something. I hope I'm wrong.

According to his tweet, John Bostock will be unavailable for the World Cup Qualifiers against Guatemala and the United States.

Fackkkkk :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: Like somebody in FIFA looking for a lil greasin

It's being done on purpose so we don't have the strongest team possible for qualification..

This is utter nonsense. Men from other countries getting international clearance in days. Its been 6 months!!!! That's incredibly long, even if they were intentionally dragging their feet, this is highly unusual. Was an explanation given? A time-frame. One player doesn't change anything really on the team but I don't like the bad vibes this can possibly bring.
