Football / Re: Stern John arrested for breaching curfew
« on: October 20, 2011, 10:23:12 AM »
Folks I have seen the light.

U guys are right and I am wrong.

Every Celebrity, especially those who play football are entitled to break our apartheid laws and go free. How could i be so blind and irresponsible to  think that these guys are below the law like us lesser mortals.

A man tried to explain to you that certain laws can be enforced at the discretion of police officers provided that common sense comes into the equation!

Ah guess you are one of those who argues for the non-application of common sense in law enforcement!

If that is the case then I would expect the police to arrest Ian Allyene on set tonight during CrimeWatch for using his mobile phone while driving on a number of occasions and then arrogantly broadcasting that he is at liberty to break the law on national TV! Not a good example to all his fans and viewers!
Who the hell does Ian Alleyne think he is, Jack Warner?  ::)

Lock up Ian’s ass and hit him with the maximum fine to the full extent of the law!
Let someone else who is 100% law abiding and more useful to society present CrimeWatch from now on!

My sister in law and her boyfriend were late getting home and they were stopped by Police, they had thier 4 year daughter with them. The police, being reasonable people actually escorted them home. They didn't arrest the parents and take the child the home.

And I'm sorry I still don't see the point in wasting time investigating why Stern was let out on bail when there are actual criminals being released. Investigte that.

Additionally, some police officers have no idea what they are talking about and just want to feel big. Remember the officer who wanted to arrest the express reporter because his permit didn't have a vehicle number, when none of them actually do. Like I said, maybe when they were taken back the police station, seniors realised that an Emergency is cause to be delayed in getting home. I would understand the hoopla is they were found in 51degrees car park with bottles of stag and a spooon making old noise. But they were clearly in distress, so the police man, wanting to prove a point decides to arrested the everyone else except the injured person, like the injured person could have taken himself to the hospital or something.

Well it's very important the police spend time and resources finding out why that rough neck Stern John was let out on Bail... I'm sure he's going back to Nelson Street where he will continue to snatch bangs and chains and sell drugs.

273
I was thinking that same thing. It probably went to buy the Black Berries they were giving out. That's probably why the gov't ain't try to move in on them yet.

274
I hear you. In England and Germany the media would have hounded Warner out of office in the 1990's and probably Camps too...certainly by now. The supporters would have put pressure on the Associations. The clubs would have pressured their leagues and the leagues would have voted for executives replacement. In reality, certainly in England, Warner & Camps would have resigned by now. There would have been questions asked in parliament and the Minister of Sport would have met Warner & Camps for dinner and suggested "Isn't it time for you chaps to resign? We don't want to have to go down the road of investigations, do we? " Yes, there would have been behind the scenes govt involvement...all deniable of course, but many countries would not have suffered this embarrassment. England even had a parliamentary enquiry into why they didn't win the 2018 bid. And believe it or not, if Warner & Camps didn't resign, MI5 would have followed them around until they had a "lever" to remove them, such as a sex scandal or financial matter. It would never have made the papers, just a brown envelope containing evidence and a suggestion to resign. Trust me...I'm being serious here.

Can they be charged with misuse of public funds. As the Gov't gave them this money, shouldn't it be accounted for. Couldn't they be charged for not auditing,or fabricating financial statements... or something to scare them away.

275
I'm sorry but I was off Soca Warriors because I don't support any thing half-a*s. That was a half -a*s team and I didn't feel they represented Trinidad's true potential. I was still rooting for the guys in thier club careers but I wasn't about the get excited to a team that was weak and not our best. The beef was never with the players. It was with the TTFF. Same way, my beef is not with players of the West Indies team, it's with the board and the Banana Republic mentality.

And yes I am supporting the team now because the Black Listing over and we have our best possible team playing. This is not about jumping on any bandwagon. They probably not going far in qualification and I'm still supporting, most people not even bothering.

I am anything but a Bandwagonist when it comes to supporting Trinidadians. Take Thema Williams, I'm sure most of you have no idea who she is... but let her make it the olympics and everyone will say she's their hero.

And there has to be some other way to get these guys without TTFF going bankrupt. What would England, Germany or Brazil do if they were in a situation like this... certainly not what you're suggesting.

276
So they didn't tell them a set amount. They told them a percentage... that's dumb. Can't the players take 600k each and cool it. I thought this was just about world cup bonuses. How much bonus do they actually need.

Toonmili, I see you are an "new" warrior.  I take it you are "new" as in you weren't lurking around the site for while and finally decided to join but rather "new" as in just come on de site and eh know the history.  In case of the latter I understand why you ask this question because without SW.net and this forum I would be asking dem same questions too.

Now if FS' response did clear things up for you, there are tons and tons and tons of threads here to get informed, just ask E-man to help you find dem....doh ask me..... ;D

You're right I have been coming to this site since 2005/06 and never posted until this year. I never followed the whole issue because I thought it would go away and by the time they started black listing and playing crap I decided to treat them like West Indies.

That's why I'm posting now, all the black listing done and there seems to be a real effort to go Brazil.

But I agree that the federation should be punished. But the Federation is Camps and Warner... the federation is a Trinidadian institution and it represents Trinidad. Punish those guys, not the federation. I'm don't see the point in allowing up to BK and having to start all over because of some bad apples... kick them out, get things in order. We don't need to burn a house down because you don't like some of the tenants.

And to Football Supporter. It's not about not getting what they deserve. If people got what they deserve the world would be a totally different place. It's just about not sending the country down another footbal spiral.

These guys at the head need to do the right thing and leave.

277

Some people have lost their minds, justifying all sorts of non-sense in the name of political affiliation. The kind of answers I see for TV6 people meter makes me worried for this country.

This country is filled with a bunch of  "Four legs good, two legs bad" people. No thinkers, only sheep.

I'm sorry but if Stern John is biggest name you worried about getting released then this is just a joke. Don't waste people time investigating how he made bail... check out why police officers can't seem to build a case against these gang members and don't even seem to know the parameters they operating under. When they arrested those people, they didn't know they needed evidence that admissible by law, they didn't think to secure victims who are willing to testify against them.

If they can't prosecute all they are doing is sending out criminals with a grudge, and the ones who are innocent now getting hardened in prison and becoming criminals.

So I don't want to hear any crap about Stern John being released on bail.... for something he probably shouldn't have been arrested for. I want to know about gang members being released. The fact the people who bringing in cocaine still out there. No cocaine bust, only marijuana... all this is a big ole show. But don't worry, just now the Union bargaining time running out so maybe they'll end it then.... or who knows, maybe we'll be in a perpetual state of emergency, and never call an election.

279
How much money does the TTFF owe the players? Do they owe them so much that the Ministry of Sport would let our federation go to ruin.

What I think will happen is: they will get a bail out of some sort.
People will be forced to resign. ( sort of, since they won't want it to seem like the gov't is messing with the football). But heads will have to roll.

Besides the federation will make more money if we make the next rounds, and even more so if we make the hex. ( not  that I think it's going to happen)

All this is so stupid. It's high time they end this curfew.

I wouldn't be suprised if some Police man who was feeling special decided it would look sooo cool if he arrest Stern John. it probably wasn't even 11 yet as Stern said. So when they got to the station and his seniors realised the Police officer was an idiot they tried to cover thier tracks and let him out on bail.

And even if that is not the case, I don't care. Everyone knows he isn't any criminal. They can't even hold and keep the actual criminals... big fish and small fish alike. So what are they trying to prove by holding someone who has been awarded for thier sevice to the country and everyone know has a clean background.

It seems to me like he is being an advocate for the players and calling on the media to investigate these agents.

so why we couldn't have killed Bermuda this way...

Anyways positive vibes, 4-0 TnT
It's obvious you've never seen bermuda play, cause if you did you'd know that they're not that easy as many perceive.

yuh right i never see them play but come on man a team as TnT ranked 80th vs Bermuda ranked 189th should get level cutarse.  True FIFA ranking is nonsense but i still cah believe it.  I always want best for TnT.

In 2001 Trinidad was ranked 25th... Just saying those rankings are politics

em how much u know bout dat 2001 team it fella apart in d hex because of bad admin decision making but dat team was borse

So you really think we had the 25th best team in the world? Is that what you're saying?

Well Rowley brought it up in Parliment that there was a Police Football and Basketball team playing in the Police Games in NY... so you know... they can't make themselves look bad like that. Even though disrupting the TT Pro League for 3 months (and who knows how long) might look just as bad. I say kick them out and let some Super League teams take their place this year.

Wow- I really didn't understand just how bad that pitch was until I saw this. I could see why our guys didn't play harder- can't blame them for trying to avoid injury in such an easily winnable game.

I agree. I  can't believe that's a national stadium. Barbados has money, they can afford better than that.  Anyone has an idea what Guyana and Bahamas stadiums are like?
