« on: August 21, 2007, 07:33:40 PM »
I saw the TT goal vs Ghana on FIFA highlight. Great shot. Nice set play. We getting left out on the quick one-twos. Out defence are not running back hard enough to prevent the on coming forwards. But go brave Young Warriors. I believe they can get a point in the next game.

Cricket Anyone / Re: Aanensen resigns as CEO of WICB

The Trini CEOs got a rough ride with WICBC. I felt they were undermined by other officials. They want our money not our intellectual input.

Yes. When I heard him say that cricket is a stupid game. I wonder what the English Caribbean is thinking. That means all of us are stupid, according to him.

I hope he wears a helment like Eskandarian who use to play with DC United. He had a concussion at one time and played with rubber helment for a while.

I heard the  recording of the interview on WHUR. I am no Jack fan. He gave his opinios on certain things which of course all of us would disagree with. But it is his opinion. The part about  England not important and is not liked by the rest of Europe is laughable. What came out of his mouth was directed by his rear end. His stance on FIFA change of heart with the rotation after the 2018 WC  is understandable. If the US host it, you all know is JACKPOT. He don't want to lose out on that. After the Olimpics in Los Angeles, all FIFA been thinking. about is dollar signs. All the stadiums in the US is over 65, 000. All the ads. More money, more money. It is his region. That is his retirement money.

The gov't need to fund sporting infrastructure(up to a point) for the betterment of the entire population. Each sporting association needs to create mechanism to derive funds in addition to the assistance they get from gov't. Some association may get more than the others because of the competition they are competing in. WC for football, Olimpics for track and field. For instance the hockey team has to go to play-off for a spot in the Olimpics. The Hockey board should be engaging both Business and Gov't for assitance for  proper preparation for the play-offs. The US business community pump money in sports. They build facilities as long as their business logo is plastered all over the damn place. In other contries (Australia, China, Cuba, gov't subsidies sports on a massive scale.

All I know is tht FIFA rule is an impediment to our football in TT. What makes things worst is that a VP is incharge of we football. A bloody double whammy. How many times Jack say he done TT football and then come back more invigorated ?? I just flipping tired of this Warner regime. We want new people!!!!

Good Evening,
Socafan made a good point. but the fact is that the government can't interfere with Jack because FIFA will ban TT. If UNC win, Jack will get part of the Treasury for his family. If COP win, I don't know what they will do for football. If PNM win is the same status quo. The fact remains that the entire TTFF has to go for the PNM gov't to seriously put money in football. We not asking for a blank check. That will be unfair. Football needs to stand on its own two feet. It is not able to do that because of serious transperancy issues with TTFF.

The only thing that saving Jack from being kicked out of TT football  is the FIFA rule that forbids governments from getting involved in the Administration of football in FiFA member countries. As far the European claims for more teams. Tell them this is the World Cup. Not the Euro Nation cup.

Quota or restriction? It is all the same. That is why we need to make the pro leaugue in TT more attraction for the fans to attend. When England put their restrctions is we to ketch.

For baseball, yes. By the way, they building a new baseball stadium on the other side of town for the Nationals. DC United want to build stadium close by, but some of the people don't want it. Don't be surprise if DC United move to MD or VA in the future.

Freakazoid, I live in DC. I don't know where they get them stats from. They wrong. When Redskin played there the games always sold out. People has been waiting donkey years to get set for the skins.

When it come to football, them stats dubious again. I saw 4 WC games there, also sold out. I saw Barsa played. I saw Brazil/Germany, Brazil/England. The MLS final. Cosmos with Pele. Then Cosmos/Fort L:auderdale Soccer Bowl. They exagerating Beckham pulling power.

Football / Re: is TnT football heading the way of the reggae boyz?
« on: August 09, 2007, 03:22:04 PM »
TT football was already in comess. The WC just diverted the situation for about 2 yrs. But look at the footbal in TT right now. Most people on this forum only care about the national team, but don't want to look at the disarray in club football. How on earth do you expect us to produce a good national team when we have a weak football league. I hope you all not depending on the EPL to solve that problem. It is nice some of the players can go EPL, but we still need to have a decent league at home. What if the EPL implement a ban on foreigners for what ever reason. Then what?

Jack playing politics. How the hell he could come to a conclusion like that. If they decide on rotation then rightly a Concacaf country(US or Mex, probably Canada) should host the tournament. If they decide by vote, I think England has the best chance. The EPL is the most popular in terms of worldwide tv ratings. Jack trying to make the English sweat. He is in a position of power. That is the only way he can say them things.
