Sometimes when you lose, you say stupid things mostly because you lose. And sometimes when you win, in your exuberence, you say and do stupid things. The latter is Argentina. My daughter and her husband( a AfroWI Canadian) went to Argentina during the last WC. He is into equestrian stuff. They were there for the final. They had a good time when they went to the pubs in Buenos Aires for the final match. So take what allyuh get from that.

A.B. I understand your frustration. I wish You were in the mix, in terms of development and guidance. But I don't see that happening. But keep voicing your opinion whether we agree or not.

I saw someone posted "LA 2028" - that is exactly 4 years away from today.

I posted that because I know the long drought will end there. The list of athletes below Will end the drought  ;D. They have 4 years.

Janae Degannes
Chinapoo brothers
Sola and Sannah Federicks.
Dylan Woodruff
Natasha Fox
Dorian Charles
Lisa Ariana Raye - someone to keep an eye on. There is also a long distance and middle distance runners(don't have their names at the moment). We have to start now. The options are extremely limited.

Watching Copa America- one slight observation is that the teams at this level play  a ' Mature'  game of football comapred to our  ' village  pick up ball''

While the "village pick up ball" may not be to your liking, some of the Copa games were downright scrappy .That is if you like a high standard of scrappy football. Diving like submarines for the slightest bump. lot's of "professional" fouls. Top class forwards missing easy goals. A high % of PKs to decide games. As much as I liked that Canada advanced, I have to give Ven. for playing an open game. Had they scored some of the chances they would have won. Ven is no longer the socalled door mat of South Amer. football. I want them to qualify for the WC. They have a great chance to do so. I am glad for Jesse Marsch and the Canucks. They punch their way into the next game with dose of pragmatic football.

Football has become too predictable and boring. Every is parking the bus and playing half-court football.

True to a point. But After a long season them men tired. There is so much the human body can give. You have to conserve some energy. Also "blame" Pep.

He needed more time with that team. It just goes to show that a national with top players don't always click they we want them to.

The World Cup is the stick all national teams are measured by. Not the Nations League. Not the Gold Cup.

Trini, that is quite true. But We will take both Nations league and GC Cup any time also.

We always lose to them on that shitty turf they have in San Jose. I believe they don't use that turf anymore. We can beat them. We won't leave San Jose empty handed. The surface is natural grass. The other stadium Sarprissa used to be astro turf. It is now natural grass.

my genuine issue with Yorke is dat he in d earlies at least seemed not to keen on paying his dues in lower leagues, his profile atleast online  reads as woefully unqualified.....Eve CV would hold more water than Dwight

Lefty, maxg, G.O.D, I agree with allyuh

While I have had issues with Dwight on his coaching thing, I am kind of in his corner on this. UTD has been looking for a high profile coach for so long. They got some and they flopped by UTD standards(No EPL or Euro). I heard Fergie wanted Pepe, but he turned it down. They had Jose. Moderate success. Van Gaal, moderate success, Ten Hag, moderate success. Ryan Giggs, David Moyes. Nothing going. Still can't get Pepe. Why can't they give Dwight a chance? But Radcliff will not pick him. He want someone who filters thru.  the coaching system even though they have had no success. So Dwight, too bad You did not put yourself in the "higher then fire" coaches factory system.
