Football / Fitness is a Huge Problem
« on: July 20, 2015, 07:01:16 AM »
These guys are not fit.

Is one thing to talk about heat and days rest etc

but fitness is fitness.

from the start to the end we were slower and did not have the required intensity.

As Hart mention we are not playing in the same leagues as our opponents.

Nowadays men wearing heart monitors in training and computers monitoring distance travelled and average velocity.

without tools how can we know which players and which areas need fitness work.

We still asking man to run laps and hoping for the best.

Football / Cayman Islands

How all these tournaments in cayman islands so.

All these tournaments used to be in Trinidad and we use to have no travel issue.

Now all of a sudden everything is in cayman islands

probably dont even have football on the island far less that much people

At least Trinidad could say they had a history of being a football top team in the carribean.

Cayman island dry so........

what it is taking place

Bring back Benhacker

Hire S Hart as coach.

These are some of the suggestions that have been made in the past if things dont go well in the gold cup we would have used up two of our best options in one week......lol

Warner and blazer is small fish in big ponds... If the thief so much money and nobody miss it for upteept years how much money it is FIFA really have and where does all this money come from. One tournament every 4 years generating all these money for all these people to thief. How much money it is FIFA really have and whee it coming from?

Concacaf I would expect to have a small budget compared to uefa or Combebol

How much blatter and platini have?

Beware of the wag the dog syndrome

Football / Better to Lose now
« on: December 11, 2012, 08:43:56 AM »
Than go Gold cup and lose then.

They cost will be less and we know the TTFF have to money.

Imagine how painfull it would be if Guyana did not do us a favor and beat us out. with regard to wlord cup qualifying.

This current team is not competitive at Concacaf top level making Gold cup or winning digicel cup will give false sense of improvement.

We need to continue to rebuild, the team is young and we they have a good core, need to keep developing.

Only good thing about going gold cup is the experience for the young players but we will have to get that in another way.

The leadership need to realise that the world has changed and talent is not enough.

Improvement need to be made at all levels

false sense of success gives the leadership reason to believe they are doing a good job.

Failure provides evidence that what they are doing is not good enough.

It is beeter to lose now and for the TTFF to realise that they days of being the best in the carribean based on natural talent is over.

Things need to be put in place.

Look at antigua for example

They put a plan in place and their team got a lot better." They put a team in USL to form the core of the national team"

Look at Guyana

They put a plan in place and their team got a lot better " Hire an experience coach and send all players to TnT to play in the pro league"

What plan does trinindad have in place...

Nothing
We still feeling good because we qualified for World cup 12 years ago.

better to Lose Now and realise that the foundation is not there to be tops in West Indies far less for concacaf.

Came across this quote and thought it was a fitting description for how we approach football development.

In a recent interview a chastened minister Abdullahi was quoted as saying: "If we want to win and compete sustainably, we have to develop systems that establish clear connection between process and outcome."

Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.

Anybody can win a gold medal every 40 years by hit or miss.

To continue to win year after year
we have to develop systems that establish clear connection between process and outcome."

We know what the outcome we want is , ie to make the world cup every 4 years to compete on a global stage

But when was the last time we sat down and developed a system that we know would produce the outcome.

Not once have we developed a system; yet still we expect an outcome................

yuh know every tom dick and harry is a Javelin man in TnT now.

beware accidents happen

**************

BERLIN (AP) -A sports official in Germany has died after being struck in the throat by a javelin, police said Monday.

The 74-year-old man was adjudicating at a youth athletics event in the western city of Duesseldorf when the incident happened late Sunday, said police spokesman Andre Hartwig.

He was immediately taken to hospital but died of injuries early Monday, Hartwig said.

The local athletics association for Duesseldorf and Neuss identified the man as Dieter Strack.

"The popular and experienced sports judge was the victim of a tragic accident while carrying out his duties on Aug. 26," the association said on its website. "All of us who were there are horrified and in shock."

Hartwig said that the 15-year-old athlete who threw the javelin was receiving psychological counseling.

Police have opened an investigation into the official's death but initial indications were that it had been an accident, he added.

The competition in the Rath district of Duesseldorf was called off after the incident.

Football / Goal Line Technology
« on: July 05, 2012, 11:07:53 AM »
What should happen once goal line technology is approved

if a player takes a shot it hits the bar clearly bounces outside the goals but the goal line technology says it is a goal.

Would the ref be able to over rule and say it is not a goal or is the technology the final call?

I hope they thinking about this type of situation

Football / Link the football to Party
« on: July 03, 2012, 01:25:09 PM »
Sport has to be a social event to attract fan and money.

Football in trinidad especially at the PRO level has lost any kind of social aspect.

Hence no fans , no money and eventually no leagues.

Look at the transformation of Aripita Ave in Trinidad.

Bar after Bar, pact every day of the week.

people lining up to spend they money.

For professional football to survive in TnT they need to find a way to link it to the Party lifestyle.

Ask any EPL fan what is the best part of the game....they after game lime.

How will we incorporate this back into the football?/

Football / People read too much into Defeat and victory
« on: November 25, 2011, 10:51:27 AM »
if things did go a little different in Guyana most people would be content if not happy that we still can qualify.

When in fact it is irrelevant whether or not we can qualify.

Most of the times when we were able to make the Hex it was because we were in an easy group;

we have not really ever performed with any kind of consistiency on the concacaf world cup level.

One gold cup semis and a lot of low finishes in the hex.

In 2006 we came 4th out of 6 and then went down to the wire with bahrian to make the world cup.

The fact of the matter is you cannot react to how far you reach or how many world cups you make.

Focus should be on how the team is development and the performances and improvement over time.

This cannot be measured by advancement in the tournament only.

We lost a close game to guyana......so what......it happens.

Are we any better as a team or worse as a team before and after that game.

The most important things to note is that for what ever reason.

TnT is not developing competitive football players that allows us to compete in concacaf.

The game is not of interest of anybody in trinidad,

Stadiums are empty and sponsors are hiding.

Football / Should PK Shootout be eliminated
« on: July 18, 2011, 09:37:53 AM »
I used to be a big fan of the PK it is tense and dramatic.

The rule change that allows the GK to move has allowed the Save percentage to increase and nowawdays a significant amount of PK are in fact "missed" or saved

Teams still play for draws with the hope that they can win in the PKs.

i think is time for a change away from the PK.

If PK were to be eliminated

Replaced with 30 Mins extra time

then sudden death extra time where 1st goal wins it may in fact be a better way to declare a winner.

Argentina, Brazil and USA all dominated the game and drove forward to make the game more exciting only to get piped from the spot.

By eliminating the PK this may in fact make the game more attacking and exciting since this lifeline will not be there for defensive teams.

Keep playing the game give a few additional subs or something and allow the game to continue to the end.

Sooner or later a winner will be determined.

the down side is the game may go on for hours but that is part of the excitement.

Football / Where should Guyana play and Why?
« on: July 14, 2011, 10:56:42 AM »
Being Based in South America Guyana has the option to push to join south america qualification versus play through concacaf. In the long run this may make more sense because even if the you get more licks initially in the long run things may be better if the correct program is put in place. Just look at venezuela they used to take real licks now they get much better.

Revenue will go way up.

When big teams come to town tickets will sell out, away fan tourism will grow , Tv money will increase a million fold.

This money could then be reinvested into making the football better.

Facilities will have to immediately improve.

Necesity is the mother of invention. Joining south america is probably the fastest way to improve football in Guyana on the fast track.

In fact this idea sound so good Trinidad and tobago should probably pursue it. Similar to what Austraila did in Asia Fifa will allow it if the pitch is correct.

Imagine having 18 critical games against top opposition every 4 years instead of struggling to find teams to play.

Every game will sell out and that is just on the world cup side.

Copa America is a whole set of 3 additional games at a minimum.

At first we will be towards the bottom or last but in 8 - 12 years time we should be able to compete for a world cup spot.

We have competed with columbia, paraguay etc in the past so it is not a pipe dream.

If fact we need not be so pressed to even make the world cup because if you in the south america group you playing against world cup quality teams on a daily basis.

From a football perspective it might be a master move.
Geographically we used to be connected to South America and we can get to the mainland much quicker than going to the USA.
Football style wise we like the south america brand so culturally it is a natural fit. only issue is language which is easy to overcome because english is universal.

makes sense to me!

We should ready a plan to try to join South America. They might be intersted since it gives them more votes in FIFA.

Football / When was the last time we
« on: November 07, 2010, 06:03:27 AM »
Beat up caribean teams so with a local squad.

I dont remember this happening in recent memory.

Haiti is a team that usually gives us problems even under great dutch coaches like Wim I remember haiti giving us problems in the digicel.

St Vincent probably have a weaker squad than usual so maybe that is why hit them for 6 and the Guyana game could have been 4-0 if win finished 2 sitters in the second half.

realistically speaking based on this young squad with mostly new men with limited 1 st team caps these are some very good results.

People have to remember that most of our previous losses were on the road and young players with limited experience sometimes do not adjust well.

It is more about the experience than the result.

Now that we are in competition and results matter

Look At the Results!

Fire Latapy my ass.

They better lock in the contract from Now!

They man doing a good job,
Locally focused
Youth Focused

Trying new players

and most of all willing to work and develop the players.

He is the right man for the Job.

Not so much to make gold cup or make world cup, but rather to mold the next generation of players that will be the core of our team for the next 10-15 years.

The man is doing a good Job

When was the last time we beat up Caribbean opposition so?????????

Football / Jack developing the cricket now....
« on: February 28, 2010, 06:06:23 AM »
The Guardian UK newspaper

What do Trinidadian cricket and England's 2018 World Cup bid have in common? Longdenville Cricket Club will be the site of a clinic for T&T soccer coaches put on by Frenchman David Ginola, an ambassador for England's 2018 World Cup bid. David Dein, England 2018's international president, the bid's chief executive, Andy Anson, and the director of campaign operations, Jane Bateman, were also headed to Trinidad & Tobago for the Caribbean Football Union dinner and congress.

The connection? Trinidadian Jack Warner is the president of Concacaf and an influential member of the FIFA executive committee that will decide the hosts of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. Warner hails from Longdenville, whose cricket clubs are seeking assistance to get cricket facilities.

"Clubs in Longdenville are craving better opportunities and better facilities for their cricket," Warner said. "If we have to seek assistance from outside of the country, then we shall do that as I have promised them that I will take whatever necessary steps are required."

« on: January 26, 2010, 12:37:03 PM »
Imagine if Jack and them win the election. Then he go be the Govt so when it come time to pass out money to the TTFF I wonder if he go pass it out.

All along the excuse has been that the Govt is not supporting the football, If he becomes the Govt will he be willing to hand out the money.

This will be an interesting situation, he go be caught in a catch 22

When you is both giver and receiver and you greedy do you give it or keep it.

This situation might send jack Senile.

Football / TnT need to invest in Coaching
« on: October 01, 2009, 06:44:42 AM »
Watching the Jabloteh game last night it was clear which team had the better game plan. The Jabloteh players were just as quick as the DC players, and had similar technical ability. The issue was approach to the game.

That comes from coaching.

It is the same problem we have at the national level from senior to U20 to U17.

It is the primary reason we does collect goals at all levels.

Tactically our approach to the game is not good enough.

That responsibility lies with the coach.

Foreign coach is not the answer, we have been having foreign coaching since the 60's the issue is they come and go.

This will not work.

Coaching needs to be made a profession.

It starts at the community level.

Lincoln Philips has started this with the coaching badges etc F,E,D,C,B,A but more needs to be done.

In order to coach your local club at youth level formal educations needs to be required.
To coach in primary school a certain badge should be required
To Coach in Secondary School a certain badge should be required
All TTFF regional leagues should have certified coaches.
Super League should require the Top badge
PFL should require a Top Badge

This is not an invention, This is the American System, which is build on the Europen System, Something similar also exist in South America.

The next generation of TnT players will need to be under the Training of more advanced coaches if we are to get to the next level.

We focus too much on players where coaching is the Key.

With proper coaching we can improve our football across the board to a decent level.

But it is a long term thing.

10 years minimum before consideral impact is seen, As a nation we seem incapable of seeing long term.

In we get a group of 7 years old now in TnT and expose them to a more professional midset to football

ie under the training of "Trained" Coaching in 10 years they would be much better players than the current players we are putting out.

Papers do not make you a better coach, and you can be a good coach without papers.

But no matter how good you are the process of going through coaching education will make you better that you were before.

This process will improve all the coaches in the country and the Standard of football will follow.

Football / Jack and Camps getting old Dont panic
« on: September 08, 2009, 12:42:51 PM »
Time is on the side of T&T football.

Camps was senile from long time now he starting to look senile, He have a permanant smile on he face that is proof enough.

even Jack starting to look old.

Just now them men riding out from the TTFF

4 years is a long time to wait for big money especially after a nice taste 2 years ago in Germany.

if you think supporters have tabanca
Multiply by 10 for the money men.

Imagine looking forward to 2010, 2011, 2012 with nothing but small games, digicell games and gold cup qualification.

no money in that at-all

With every football world cup qualification them men getting closer to retirement.

The worst we do the faster they leave.

Dont Panic
The end is near
Jesus Saves.

Football / The Key for TnT is to keep building
« on: September 08, 2009, 08:50:51 AM »
We have to strive to be like Costa Rica.

They are always towards the top of the Hex and make the world Cup consistently

This is the next step for us.

Step one was to make the Hex consistently
We have achieved that (at least the last few times )

Step two was to make the world cup, we did that

Step three is to consistently be competivtive in the Hex and hence always be in the running for the world Cup.
Costa Rica is a good example of this, and they do not have the big US and mexico resources so they are living evidence that we can do it.

We are where we are......

Now we need to continue to build it and look forward.

We still have three big games finishing with 14 points is a big difference from finishing with 5 pts
We still need to play to win and play to put things in place.

The carribean Cup , Gold Cup, international friendlies need to taken very seriously.

We have to build on where we are and not be foreced to start over.

Making the Hex is not easy, just ask Guatemala, Jamaica, Canada.

Consistient performance in the Hex is our next step and that starts with the next 3 games in the HEX.

All these teams comming to win because nobody wants to be 4th.

This is we world cup finals against world cup caliber teams, This is our last chance for the next 2 years to play against Top hex teams at their very best, going all out.

Do not waste this opportunity to test we-self.

Attitude on the field is the number one thing we can fix in preparation for 2014.

It starts tomorrow.

Football / How come nobody does want we for warm up games
« on: August 19, 2009, 06:45:05 AM »
Men always complaining about how we aint have no games.

Most of the time we have to play money for a next team to play with us.

How come teams dont offer us money to come and play versus them.

We is a Big world cup team with big name players, Why is their no demand to play a practice game versus TnT.

Is high time we stop paying for practice game and start getting paid for practice games what is preventing this from happening?

25
Football / No Off Season for Players nowadays
« on: July 20, 2009, 08:41:59 AM »
Men done start to play warm up games for the EPL already and we in July, Season starting full in 3 weeks.

Most teams was playing until May.

That leave only June to rest unless you play World Cup qualifying not to mention confederation cup and gold cup.

It seems like there is no longer an official Off season.

Especially now when you can do a USA or Asia tour and pull in money.

Throw in a Youth world cup and is even more pressure for budding young players.

How will this impact the game?

Will players have a shorter career or will they just be more fit so thier body can handle the pressure.

Football now seems to have the shortest offseason of any sport.

Is FIFA and clubs quest for money going to damage the product in the long run.

Football / Bring More Locals & Youths
« on: June 11, 2009, 09:46:48 AM »
So far the local based carrying this team.

Look at Tinto, best player in the two games and was not even getting a look in for years.

They have more like him.

Yorke have to rest
Dog have to rest, he cause the first goal not Abu Baka you cannot let a man receive , turn and pass. Pressure on the ball is first step of defense. He get he 100 caps let him rest
lawrence have to rest

Find a way to put Carlos up front

if we make these changes will will beat El Salvador easy and be back on the ball.

Now is the time

All we need is more pace.

Football / This is the story ........Problems in order of importance
« on: April 02, 2009, 07:14:56 AM »
1) Maturana is an old school Dentist, he doing extraction when he should be doing root canal. Why else would he take off birchal.

They have a conflict of style, Maturana like the Valderama technical midfield and brichall bring the hard running english style. This is just an extension of the fact that Maturana style does not match up well with our weakness. The Dutch Style was a much better fit because it allowed us to hide our defensive inabilities. Under Wim approach we were much better. Maturana want to pick the ball possesion men but they not running and costing we dearly especially late in the games. In all the games we are fading late because we have too many Yin players when we need some Yang.
Say what you want about Wim or Bennie but you see it in a direct result of the squad selection

Wolfe over Gray
Leon over whitley
Hyland for Birchal

Not saying that Gray, and Whitley have to be on the team but we need players who can run on the field and not just passing passing men. We need to find those kind of players

Mentality cannot be changed not at this age, we have to understand how the man thinking.

When he look at our midfield getting out played he attempts to solve the problem with the attributes that he values, IE technical short passing game

Wim on the other hand would look for a hard running player.

It is about which one your put the value on.

Brazil became the master of this after WC 1986 they even have a voodoo man that does pick the squad based on horiscope etc, I not lying.

We are not balanced in attributes and personality

2) Ince is a negative impact on the entire team.
He constantly fights down the players when they make mistake and that is why God punish is ass with that 3rd goal. He is not a team player.

Case in point men not marking so he cussing them,
When come time to kick out the ball he kick it strait outside. Stern had to put his hand up and say Hey man what you doing. Thay types of negative energy brings down the team. It does not help anybody to point out each other defects. Ince need to find a more positive way to communicate to his team mates.
That is why bennie drop his ass. Poor attitude.
Bring in Warner or find Jack a Club we will not get there with Ince current approach.

We need to support each other within the team.

As a defender I not playing my all for Ince I letting them hit bullet in his backside until he learn to hush his mouth.

Jack was key in the 2006 run big saves and comraderies, How many men you see does run and give ince a high five when he make a big save.

Drop Ince Now!

3) fire the conditioning Coach. Maturana staff is not cutting it.
All the locals who are under their care are not fit.

4) Keon Daniel will never get a contract unless he gets some zess. He continues to be a liability on this team.

5) Leon, Daniel,Wolfe, Akelie are not good enough players to demand constant starting in WCQ, we need to give some other men a chance too once in a while a new man will catch a vaps. The end result is men will step up. The same way how daniel could score all them goal in the first round maybe a new man might show something. Then bring Daniel back in he go be more hungry to keep his place. Rigth now he playing shit for like 4 games in a row and still starting. Birchall running he ass off for 4 games in a row and getting sub right through.
Young players will fade in and out and go up and down they key is to replace them when they are down so they only show good. We cannot affoard to play these men through these down spots give a next man a try.

6) Put Jones in midfield, we need legs in midfield and all he is doing is chasing defenders, Let him presurize in midfield. we get nothing from pressing in our attacking third when we cannot stay with men in the defending third. That is common sense.
If we playing a shit squad put him up front, when we under pressure bring him in midfield so he could battle.

Football / Give Lincoln the Trinity Cross
« on: March 12, 2009, 04:32:17 PM »
Since the man gone back home and take over the technical aspects of the football we Quality for World Cup, U17 World cup and U20 world cup. This is not a happenstance, This is a direct result of the direction he has provided.

We all know the TTFF knows nothing about football so Jack and Camps cannot take the kudos they dont know what the hell they doing.

The Fact that Lincoln can put up with them is reason enough for 2 trinity cross.

On top of that he had to take physical licks from the last coach.

Half of the time he does not even get paid

Through all that he still stayed with the job and is totally dedicated to the country.

Give this man the honor he deserves.

Thanks Tiger!

Football / Lets be Realistic is TnT we talking about
« on: February 12, 2009, 11:27:06 AM »
2-2 after being 2-0 up with 10 minutes left is disapointing but if you give me that score at the start of the game I will take it.

The Key For TnT in the Hex is to try to seperate from El Savlador and Stay within pace of Costa Rica and Honduras.

We missed a golden opportunity to put El Salvador behind the eight ball but say what we not known for being clinical.

TnT did not even expect to be 2-0 up in the first half, They do not have the internal belief that they could win and that is why they got nervous and colapse at the end.

It is a mental thing.

As long as we within striking range of 3 or 4th place after 4 games we good to go.

Honduras will be a tough game for us.
They are better than us we will need to perform at a high level.

A win would be great a tie would be OK

The key is the Head to head match ups between Honduras, Costa Rica

El Salvador will lose their next match against the US
Then they go to Costa Rica probably a next loss then they welcome Mexico a next lost

They will sink Fast.

For our next 2 home games Honduras and Costa Rica we need win at least one of those games That will give us 5- 6 total points with the six games left

With El Salvador rooted at the bottom and TnT Honduras Costa Rica all in the 4-6 points range after 4 games we in good shape

Then it becomes who can pip points against the US and Mexico

We have them Home Late so just like last time better chance for them to slip up.

We play both Costa Rica and Honduras away in the second half that give them hope that they will get 3 points but we know we can go there and play spoiler.
Defend all day and score on the break

The pressure will be on them.

I rather it that way.

Pressure wise we are very poor, as was evident last night.

we are underdogs despite what we think as long as we in with a shot I happy.

when was the last time we was in front in a group standings, never before at the Hex level what is different that we should expect different results.

Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results!

All yuh men insane.

Same players, Same structure, same preparations and we expect to be a front runner in the Hex.

I would rather see Jamaica and Honduras.

Jamaica because they from the West Indies and Honduras because we always jumbie them and Mexico away is usually impossible.

Imagine at this stage mexico can still be eliminated

Stress

Trust me Honduras is capable of resting goals on Mexico at Home. They almost roast them in Mexico.

Pressure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
