Football / TTFF real messing up the Jersey Thing
« on: November 07, 2005, 09:14:14 AM »
Is years now they talking bout Jerseys short and hard to Get.

I cannot see what the problem is.

Is about 2 years now they release the new Finta Kit and man cannot get to find the jerseys anywhere.

Now man all in England asking for Jersey and cannot find none.

and these men quick to as Govt for money.

Where the hell they getting the jerseys from for the players to use? they cant just duplicate a million times and sell some jerseys and make a lil money.

These men in England will pay all 30 pounds for a TnT jersey It costing TTFF about 10TT to make one.

Even if we cannot get none from factory in Brazil how hard it go be to buy some cloth and hire a seamstress in TnT to sew some jersey.

All they have to do is take one jersey and send it china and ask them to duplicate
You getting about a million at $1US for one Shipping included.
They could copy anything over they.

And these same TTFF men does be talking about support and lack of support.

2 Years now we have a backlog of Jersey on order from some factory in Brazil.

World Cup fever come and gone and not a damn Jersey aint sell yet.

Even if we changing Kits

Sell one jersey and then resell the new one and make double money.

I never see thing so.

The things Jack supposed to be talking about he keeping quiet about.

Where is the Jerseys, Man looking to buy Who selling

Football / Is College league in a mess?
« on: November 01, 2005, 11:11:47 AM »
With Sides like St Georges and Tranquill who went a whole season without scoring a goal
what does this say about our nations premier youth football league

Is it that teams are getting so good like San Juan Fatima Mucarapo or is it just that these other teams are just plain crap.

South seems to be the best grouping because I dont remember any team in south taking real licks and Naps win the Big Five

But what is really going on with SSFL in TnT

Is this good for our football or should Lincoln Phillips start some kind of program to address this.

Or should we just leave this alone and focus on Jabloteh and W connection youth teams

I find it very Hard to Believe that a team can play a whole season
against other school boys sides
We talking about kids the same age here

and not even score a goal and every game collecting double figues

Something have to be wrong they
This is not School football as I know it

Who is playing for these teams and Better yet who is coaching them and what are these coaches doing.

at least you should be able to draw a match

How the ass Saints getting 7 from Fatima One day and Tranquill getting 9 from Fatima and them Tranquill going and get 5 from Saints too.

Nah something wrong they

what is they kids playing?

AT some point in the season somebody, the principal or parent somebody need to take stock of the team and get them to at least fight the games,

This turning into a Jokey league.

Secondary School Football is an essential part of TnT football development, It is the first and only time a youth player could learn to play infront of a crowd, which is important to learn before they reach national level.

We need to keep this league legit or replace it with a club version that is more competitive.

Football / Bahrain Acting Amature Amature
« on: November 01, 2005, 10:13:49 AM »
It is quite clear they are not ready for this level of football

They are very disorganize

First the getting all they foreign based for a 2 week camp then they not coming again.
They have to wait for men to come 5 days before the game

Then they hire Nakid as a TnT Insider, now the coach dont trust Nakhid.

Then they pay big money for a Panama match, now they complain that Panama send a youth team.

First they was going Jamaica
Now they not
Then They going Jamaica again then the match was on now it off but the camp still on

It is quite clear that these men have no clue what to do or how to prepare

AMATURES

Clear and Concise Communication from Bennie man
The Players will arive 5 days before the game once they are released from the clubs.

Story has not change since.

We have a plan and we sticking to it.

If I did not know better I would say Jack Warner have a cousin in the Bahrain FA

Too much Comess in the place

Good thing it it dont have a road between TnT and Bahrain
Them men would have tried to take Maxi to the game and stop off in the Mosque on the way to the game.

Ahhh how nice it is to have a professional in Charge of the procedings.

Bahrain dead and buried before the game even start, They are cluless!

Football / I hear First Hand Bahrain is a Muslim state
« on: October 27, 2005, 03:20:35 PM »

« on: October 26, 2005, 09:09:40 AM »

But now that it look like they in who is going to get drop.

I can only assume that if they coming they coming to play not sure if they will start but I will have to assume they will.

So if Jloyd starting in the back and Zamora Starting up front who going to get Drop.

Tony Warner is also coming soon so I guess one keeper will get drop as well.

"
Three young Bahrainis are to live out every schoolboy’s dream after they prove themselves to be Bahrain’s best bet in its search for the first Arab Formula One champion.
Osama Al Buflasa, Kamail Ali and Faisal Raffii yesterday raced past 10,000 other Bahrainis to clinch the National Find-A-Driver championship and earn themselves an unprecedented all expenses paid shot at motorsport glory.
"

More Proof them men real fast is running records breaking and thing.......

We need to adjust we tactics

His Majesty the King, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, yesterday hailed Bahrain’s achievements in regional and international sports which enhanced the Kingdom’s status in the sports sector.
HM the King, who received at Al Safriya Palace the Bahrain track and field team, stressed that the achievements were the result of efforts and cooperation between technical and administrative officials as well as the players which affirmed the Kingdom’s qualification in joining international competitions.
The team has won 20 medals including nine golds and bagged the second slot in the 14th Arab Championships in Tunisia.
The President of the General Organisation for Youth and Sports, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, said that the achievements were the result of HM the King’s constant support and follow-up on the sports movement which helped win a number of medals including the first gold in Helsinki Games by Bahrain’s Rashid Ramzi.
Shaikh Fawaz said that 2005 was a year of victories for the Kingdom’s players who broke 150 local, nine Arab and seven Asian records in various competitions.

Football / How these men does find this site (All Bahrain men ride out)
« on: October 19, 2005, 06:41:06 AM »
One Set of baharain men all over the place.

Them men worst that RF, Sting Pana and Bim Blast combined.

Whe they hell they come out!

Time for them to ride out cause we not really on them.
and is not like we could go back to their site and deal with them cause on them site is nothing but scribbles.
we cant read nothing.

I watch the goals video from the Baharain site, they had real fans and thing in the stands.
I go feel sorry for them on Nov 16th.
Sad to say but they go be real disapointed.

Ba-ha-rain ride out Joke

Yesterday I hear Nakhid say on the radio that only the Syrian and them Glad we have to play Baharain.
When they ask him why? he say because they go sell plenty cloth, Them men have on long dress and long head tie. Plenty Yards
Time they reach in Piarco and Bwee lost they suitcase is straight down to Town they heading to buy Yards and Yards of cloth to make dress. :rotfl: :rotfl:

A next one

Why did Jack Warner put the TnT home game first?
Because in Baharain women cannot attend the games in the stadium.
When them Baharain men start to see bottom and tits bouncing in the stadium so them go get Bazodee not to mention hair, noses and mouths..... :rotfl: :rotfl:
Let Bennie man stay in Holland for this one, just put the Carib girls to give lap dances on the Baharain bench all them men and them go fake injury and ask to come off
we go win by default.

and the last one

I go save that one for later (men might say I is a racist)

Post your Baharain Ride out joke here and let we ride them out

161
I cant believe man actually considering Jlloyd and Zamora amoung others to play on the World Cup team

alyuh men have to be freaking crazy and dotish too

I carrying Eve and Nixon before them men

Is decades now we trying to make world cup and now that we might be going you want to bring men who did not lift a leg to get we there.

Do not let your greed for success cloud your judgement.

Trinidad is going to the world cup to Take real licks ( unless we get an easy group) these second rate players will not help us that much.

Look at it this way

We are going to the world cup to compete with the teams the likes of England.

Taking men who cannot make England bench will not get us any better in terms of beating england.

I am totally against Foreigners player for TNT.
I was against Birchald Playing for TNT and if I was the coach I would not have brought him on.

Why ... Because it is a cop out, a bandaid to fix the problems in our football development, Our National football team must relect the standard of players that can be developed within the TnT nation football structure.

Borrowing foreign based players allows for artificial results.

TnT is going to the world cup
to celebrate the 40 Year journey that we have been trying to make

We not going to play football , we going to celebrate getting there and to celebrate the coaches and players who go us to this point.

We going to see first hand what the worlds best football is all about experience it and bring it back to the next generation.

The team will do fine without the foreign imports we doing fine now.

In Addition

Senior Players who have contributed a lot should be allowed to go with the team.

We need to take some youth players who will be there for the next world cup

We need to take some local coaches so that they can come back and train the next generation.

Gally, ST Clair, Steadman, Morris, Maurice, Williams should be allowed to travel with the team as passive coaches,

These are the top coaches in the country who can benefit from the experience.

Past players such as Nixon, eve, Dwarika , should be looked at again to see if they ready if so they should go as well.

Youth players such as Durance Williams Josh Joshson, Diaz, williams etc should also be considered.

We need to travel with about 35 Players and 10 coaches.
The more the better.

This is all about Experience
Dont get greedy and dont let foreign based steal your hard work away from you.

If Zamora what to play in the world cup he could put Rooney on the bench because he cant make TnT side.

Football / Back To Football ......Based on My Infinite Football Knowledge
« on: October 17, 2005, 01:42:33 PM »
I have been analyzing the recent TnT game over and over, I have watched the Mexico and Guatemala games at least 4 times each.

The key things that benefitted us in that last Mexico game was lack of High Pressure by mexico and this was the main reason for our improved play in that game.

In world Football the game is about Respect.
The better teams in the world respect each other. You will never see Barcelona rushing real madrid with a full team press in the attacking third of play.

However in the past teams like mexico used to rush we whole day and force Dog Tallman, John, etc into turnovers which sometimes led to goals.

As lincoln say ball possesion and lack of stupid mistakes.

Does Mexico respect us now...Hell No they just did not care enough to chase the game.

If you watch the game Our Back 4 was given infinte time on the ball to build from the back. In the past we would have been under pressure and is boom kick or bad passing.

In the midfield we have improved because of Latapy, who is able to maintain possesion under pressure
Carlos, Whitley and to a lesser extent Birchald still gives the ball away frequently.
But Bennie has countered this by making us play a structured positional play with a safe number of players behind the ball.

We do not commit that many players forward as a team.

Stern John is still not playing well, His link up play is poor and he is not able to receive the long ball and bring the midfield into the game.
His link up play is what he needs to get back now that his confidence is on the rise.
The main reason for his increased Chance and Goals are as a result of Latapy.

Before teams would Key in there Defense on Stern and to a lesser extent Yorke because Yorke is now playing Deeper. But with Latapy in the fold he is able to make unbalancing runs in the middle which sucks defends out leaving Stern free to slot home.

These Dribbing runs by Latapy is creating space for our whole team to play.

Yorke is working hard to defense to make up for latapy he is doing a job for the team. His offense however is not existant hopefully he can get amoung the goals.

Whittley is playing well and getting more confedence to shoot etc must improve his passing efficency

birchald is steady, but we need to keep looking at playing him in various positions to see if we can get more out of him, Also maybe playing Theobald in the middle instead of him. The fact that he is quite means he is not there yet.
I dont know why Bennie always subs Whittley it may be fittness work rate related but sometimes we should Sub Birchald.

We have improved the results have improved but realistically speaking we are not the finished article.

We won the games we were expecting to win since last year looking into the Hex.

The 5 in Guatemala was a poor result,
The Mexico second 11 win was great but we did that on the road to 2002

Panama reults were expected but we still needed to execute.

We are still unable to beat Costa Rica

the Guatemala win showed fight which is all you can really ask for.

Chances are we will Beat Baharain.
We have demonstrated enough professionalism and execution under Bennie man for me to believe we will win.

The players believe in Bennie man and they believe his tactics will work.
He has simplyfied the game for us and used ket strengths and negated weaknesses.

He is a real big coach.

Hopefully we can make the world up and put the past behind us.

The best part would be the energy addition to the game in TnT and hopefully funding to follow.

Players wise we will be better in 4 years,

Jack, Charles, Birchald, Whitley, Theobald, Jones, Carlos, Sealy will still be there and improved from their current level.
Chances for 2010 looks good but the aim and plan must be for a top 3 finish.

Hopefully we make the world cup.

How we do in the world cup is not that important.

The Most important goal for TnT if and when we make the world cup should be

1) Funding for the National Football Academy
2) A rebirth of fan support to club football
3) Restructing of TnT football administration
4) Improved funding for youth team preparations
5) Improved funding and development for the women's game

Keep the wave going all the way to 2010.

Football / Real Men Training Hard Now
« on: October 14, 2005, 09:07:31 AM »

Football / What was the best part of the match last night?
« on: October 13, 2005, 12:27:15 PM »

1) The ball went in the stands and the fans refuse to throw it back wasting time.
We as a people finally reach in terms of fan support.

2) When the ref blew the final whistle, None of the players were over celebrating because in truth and in fact we aint do nothing yet.

It is the little things that make a big difference in international football.

Football / Travelling to Bahrain
« on: October 13, 2005, 08:16:07 AM »
Who going with Meh
I just check it out online

That is small money to pay to be there when TnT make the world cup.

Apparently Bahrain is an Island in the Gulf that is kind of a tourist place for the middle east.

They have a large expat population (I am sure it have some Trini oil men they).

Nice Flight on British Air Ways $21,000 TT
Nice Hotel on the Beach $3000 TT

Being their to Watch Stern buss the net and put TnT in the world cup for the first time.

Priceless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I putting it on meh mastercard

ps(Then I calling them and them that I know no body from and have never been to Bahrain, Please take it off as a fraudalent charge ;D ;D)

The Kingdom of Bahrain is an archipelago of low lying island located in the Arabian Gulf of the eastern shore of Saudi Arabia.

Frequently called the Pearl of the Arabian Gulf, Bahrain has a history of more than 5,000 years of civilisation, from the mists of time to a vibrant present under a stable and prosperous government.

Bahrain is the site of immortal Dilmun, religious centre to Summerians, Babylonians and Assyrians, as dramatic excavations prove.  Subsequent visitors include Greeks from the time of Alexander the Great, Portuguese, Omani's and the English.   Marvellous old sites and buildings compete with modern office buildings and colourful traditional markets.

While relatively small in population, land area and resources Bahrain has achieved a high level of social and economic development in a short period.  The road network, international airport, telecommunications, public services, medical facilities and university are all recognised as being among the best in the world.   Although great emphasis is naturally placed on the development of its own citizens, due to its large expatriate population Bahrain has a marvelous multi-national mix of nationalities, all living harmonously together in a completely unique mix of cultures.

English is widely spoken, but traditional Arab courtesy and hospitality are still the hall mark of a friendly and peaceful Bahrain

Football / Is God put we they, That first goal was devine intervention
« on: October 13, 2005, 07:50:53 AM »
Boy watching the replay on that first goal I have to say Devine intervention.

The Ball actually fly off the post straight to stern foot and fly into the net.

That fool Stern start to fall down before the ball even reach him, he Knees weak.
Next thing you know the ball hit he foot and bounce in the net.

Is Jesus score that one for we they.

Boy when Lozano score that chip that had Jack scrambling I start to say what kind of cruel Joke is this God playing on we

A Nov 19th goal all over again

Penalty miss
Guatemala leading 3-0
I start to doubt

Sorry Jesus for Doubting
Never again will I ever doubt.

We must always have faith!

Football / Bennie coming with a Defensive Game Plan
« on: October 11, 2005, 12:31:48 PM »
If you read what he saying you will see he calling for TnT to play a natural game, but this might be a smoke screen as he also called Mexico one of the best teams in the world.

I expect we to start real defensive and cautious and play like we did in Mexico.

Once we keep this game close we should be able to manufacture a goal from cross balls or dead balls.

Tallman Andrews and Stern should be able to out butt any mexican in that side.

We aint score from a corner in ages
we need to execute better.

Tallman throw away a sitter header in that Panama game on the back post.
We cannot afford that kind of thing against Mexico

Dont talk bout jones and the one he let the defender clear off the line.

DONT MAKE SKYLARK WITH GOALS.

170
Football / What is the field Conditions in the Stadium
« on: October 11, 2005, 12:12:26 PM »
Hard or soft.

The soft conditions in Panama seem to affect our passing game from the little I saw on the highlights.

With the same token the Mexican Passing game could be severely disrupted if the stadium was a little muddy

What is the conditions.

Football / Has Jack Warner spend 17M of his own money?
« on: October 11, 2005, 10:12:30 AM »
imagine you is Jack Warner and you have a lil money.

Would you spend your own money to pay for footballers to fly around the world and pay a coach for the National Team.

Does that really make sense.

Is it a loan? DOes he want the money back at some point or is it a gift.
Also where does he get this extra money to donate?

Is he co-signing for a loan or taking the money out of his own account?

I have to ask these questions because
1) 17 M is a decent amount of money so where did warner get this much as disposible.

2) Even though he love the country many people will find it hard to give away that much money.

3) How stupid can one man be at least his wife should stop him, is campaign after campaign Jack Warner putting his own money down and campaign after campaign is one set of shit on the field, at some point a resonable man will say enough is enough.

I think these questions are important because Jack has been publicizing over the years how much of his own money he pay for this and that, Has this money be verified or even approved.

Does he now own Trinidad and Tobago football?

In life nothing is free!

This question might be important if in fact we make a world cup and Prize money, endorsement money, start to flow.

Where is that money going to go?

For football development in terms of Building this or that or for repayment of Jack Warner for all his loans.

This may be a mute point because TnT football may never really get that big in terms of dollars but you never know.

What is going to happen if TnT hit the football lottery one day.

172
I read on one of the reports that the team board the Charter plane after the game for back home.

This is the same as having your own private Jet, which only big teams does have like Jordan and the Bulls.

All we need now is to pimp it out to include some special socawarriors.net items and call it the Warrior Jet.

Things looking up.

It makes a big difference rather than having connecting flights through Miami.

All we need to do now is have the Jet going and comming and we go be ready.

We really reach oui!

Bwee right through

Football / Keep alyuh Panties in a Bunch fellas , men getting too excited
« on: October 10, 2005, 08:14:29 AM »
First Things first it is not an actual spot we going for but rather a chance to go for another level of qualifying at a play off spot.

So in truth and in Fact we are no closer than we were at the start of the campaign we have just not been eliminated as yet. Which is good and shows some improvement from the last Hex Campaign.

Both Baharain or Uzbeckistan can totally beat us. I saw a game of Baharain verus Iraq over the weekend and Iraq was luckly to win, Iraq is a big side that is always in the World Cup and competes with the likes of Ireland the last time around, they have many foreign pros so anybody who think can easily win this play off is grossly mistaken.
You never know they might hit us for six like lara.

So to be so excited over a playoff spot is not warranted, it is better to remain sober and prepare one step at a time.

Guatemala has a home game against Costa Rica, Guatemala has more fight in them at this stage added to that the Tradegy caused by Hurricane in that country will be a rallying cry for the team to go out and do it for the nation. Never underestimate the power of inspiration and it effect on sporting performances.

We have a game against a very Very Good mexican side. They may not be that motivated but they can still pass and trap they ball very effectively which is bad news for a side like us who can do neither effectively.

Watch at Mexico Play football and then watch at TnT play football and ask yourself Why we cannot connect 5-10 passes in a game or press the ball and win it back defensively.

I not trying to kill no vibes or bring down the team,
And I really do hope that we can catch a jumbie and win the Mexico game and go on to the qualifiers.
But I think it is important for the Fans, Players and Football Leaders to remain sober and realize the reality of the situation.

After Sat's game the key question to be ask by all involved in Trinidad and Tobago Football is

We have failed at another Qualification of the World Cup because we are effectively 6 points behind Costa Rica with 1 game to go (we could have even said it after the loss in CR). How do we correct this for 2010.
Instead every body happy and glad we still alive in playoff spots.

I am saying this because

in 4 Years
Jack will get 4 spots plus 1 half spot and we will be in sixth place trying to come 5th.

It seem like the easier the qualification get the closer we get to not making it

If you dont focus on the right questions you will never find the right answers.

Relax and enjoy the ride, we aint do nothing to feel happy about yet.

Good Luck to the warriors on Wednesday a victory is required.

Congrats to STern John for Scoring the key goals to get us to this point and conrats to Jack on another Clean sheet.
Trinicity is the Bomb!!!
we run things forever.

« on: October 07, 2005, 10:15:23 AM »
This is in truth and in Fact their Nov 19th.

Based on how they have been improving under Maradiaga they really though 3rd spot was theirs epecially after the previous rounds.

But ever since they have been stuttering.

Every game that goes by the get further away.

The 3-2 loss to us was devastating they relly thought they could hit us for 5 again.

From TnT point of view other than the Avid fans ie "the men on this site" no body not really studying this team.

I am not in TnT but I am sure the Vibes is not like the strike squad vibes.
Back then everybody had catch the fever.

But this time around I am almost 100% sure there will be at least 1 empty seat in the stadium even if we are in with a shot of making the world cup for the Mexico game.

This will work to our favor

We will be more relaxed and in truth and in fact the general public not really expecting much.

If we make the playoffs things might get more tight and tense but for now I think we players are under less stress from the public.

When them mexicans start to drop goal in Guatemala backside and we start to drop goals in Panama look for pressure to buss tank.

forced with a must win game at home against Costa Rica with thousands of crazy ass guatemalians ready to lynch the team for failure look for them to self destruct.

I like Costa Rica odds on the counter attack

That game will be a cracker.

On the flip side look for mexico to come Trinidad and pass the ball around and maintain possesion. I dont expect them to press us but rather sit back and wait to win the ball back.

Hopefully we will be able to break down their defense
I expect bennie man to have us defensing very deep like we did in Mexico and wait for the odd chance to attempt on goal.

Mexico will not chase this game they will sit back and wait for their chance as well so this game will be quite dull I expect when compared to Guate Guate versus Costa Rica.

Guatemala Loosing to Both Mexico 4-0  and Costa Rica 2-0

TnT Beating Panama 3-0 and 0-0 Versus Mexico.

Off to the playoff not sure how we stand versus those 2 teams they are unknow so that makes them real dangerous added to that we will probably be favourites which adds another layer of pressure.
Too soon to tell

The quote from the coach is the best

"In comparison to us, they (Dominican Republic) played with the skill of men, kicked like men and controlled the ball like men.

I feel these is Sam's girls, am man tell me he like he Gul like Men!

Lord have mercy

FIFA U-20 Women's World Championship
Suddenly dominant, Dominicans put up 25

 The Dominicans run rampant

(FIFA.com) 05 Oct 2005

The U-20 women's team from the Dominican Republic busted an unlikely record on 23 September when they thrashed the British Virgin Islands by an astonishing 25 goals to nil.
The margin of victory is now the most lopsided in any FIFA-sanctioned women's game to date, eclipsing the prior record of 24-0 set by Japan's under-19 team when they thumped Malaysia on 31 May 2004.

Though close, the result is not the biggest in FIFA history if one takes into account all categories. Australia's senior men's national team famously beat American Samoa 31-0 in FIFA World Cup qualifying in 2001. Also, the Aussie U-17 side nearly repeated the dose with a 30-0 drubbing of the same hard-luck Samoans (u-17) in 2000 and more recently, in 2005, they trounced Tonga 26-0.  There have also been several more lopsided results in the world of five-a-side futsal including a 31-0 mauling of Moldova by Russia in a Futsal World Championship qualifier in 1995, a 29-2 result by Brazil over Guatemala in 2000 and a 27-1 win for China PR over Guam in 2004.

In a country where baseball greedily dominates the back pages and football is relegated largely to the realm of the inconsequential, the Dominican players and their coach are hoping that the victory can help raise the profile of the beautiful game in general and the women's version in particular on the Caribbean island.

A moment for Dominican football
Osama Valerio led the attack for the Dominicans on the day with a masterful record of her own. Her ten goals scored before a modest home crowd in Santo Domingo is bound to stand up for quite some time indeed. Oliva Santa scored four times and Jennifer Uribe had three tallies on the day. Ana Frenda Frias and Angelica Cruz each bagged two goals, while Raynela Peralta, Eleniza Pichardo and Leandra Sanchez, each added one in the historic victory.

The British Virgin Islands' goal comes under more attack

The British Virgin Islands - a tiny overseas territory of the UK - went on to suffer an aggregate 48-0 trouncing over their three matches in the pre-qualifying tournament for the U-20 Women's World Championship, thus establishing themselves even further as a side with a long way to go on the fringes of an increasingly competitive CONCACAF confederation.

"The tournament was played at an extremely high level," British Virgin Islands head coach Avonell 'Clarky' Morton told the Virgin Island Daily News. "In comparison to us, they (Dominican Republic) played with the skill of men, kicked like men and controlled the ball like men. We were not prepared, but it will stand as a hard but important lesson for us."

Though the result must surely have fuelled the Dominican players' dreams of a first-ever spot in a FIFA finals - the FIFA U-20 Women's World Championship scheduled for 2006 in Russia - their hopes were dashed only two days later as they went tumbling cruelly out of the competition.

The top-of-table grudge match on25 September saw the Dominicans go out at the final hurdle - but not without putting up their fair share of scrap and resistance on the day.  The Haitians required a last-minute winner in stoppage time from Jesula to seal the night after Lopez had equalised her early opener. The Dominicans' goal was the first conceded by Haiti in the competition in Santo Domingo.

Despite seeing rivals Haiti qualify for the final Caribbean competition in T&T in November, hosts Dominican Republic did themselves proud and made a bit of history in the process.

Football / Panama have real licks to get, it will be a blow out
« on: October 04, 2005, 06:26:18 AM »
At least 3-0

Panama aint have no pride to play for because they already come last and it aint have no pride in that.

they foreign based with contracts not bothering to come back and they will hardly be any fans in the stands.

Good for us TnT usually does not draw a crowd.

As long as we go out there with the desperation and drive which we will have we will blow them out.

The only thing could save Pananma is if Stern throw away goals like peas because once he puting it will be all out.

Panama keeper is real shit
He weak on cross balls and he is fundamentally flawed.

The only people to beat us in this game is ourselves.

Once we score at least 1 goal in the first 20 mins game done.

But if we give them life then the game will get harder.

Tight in the back and Attack with full force.

6-0

we need to boost our goal difference!

Big dog scoring at least 2 headers in this game and Yorke need to score as well
I cant remember the last time yorke score for TnT.

Time for him to step up amd lead from the front.

Arena Names 18-Man Roster In Advance of Oct. 8 Qualifier in Costa Rica

 10/3/05 11:03 AM

 Matchday 9 of Final Round Qualifying Kicks Off at 7 p.m. MT in San Jose;
Match to Be Broadcast on a One-Hour Delay on ESPN2 Beginning at 10 p.m. ET;
Fans Can Follow Live on ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker
MIAMI (October 3, 2005) — U.S. Men’s National Team Manager Bruce Arena has selected 18 players to prepare for the penultimate World Cup qualifier against Costa Rica on Saturday, October 8 in San Jose, Costa Rica. Kickoff at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa is set for 7 p.m. MT (9 p.m. ET), and the match will be broadcast on a one-hour tape delay on ESPN2 at 10 p.m. ET. Fans can follow the match live on ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker, presented by Philips, beginning at 9 p.m. ET.

The U.S. sits in first place in the final round hexagonal with a 6-1-1 record, becoming the first team in CONCACAF to qualify for the 2006 FIFA World Cup after defeating Mexico 2-0 on Sept. 3 in Columbus, Ohio. Costa Rica, currently in third place and five points ahead of Guatemala, can secure their place in the World Cup with a victory against the United States. (For a complete look at 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying in the CONCACAF region, visit the competitions page at ussoccer.com.)

"Obviously our main goal has been accomplished, which was qualifying for the 2006 World Cup," said Arena, who saw the U.S. qualify first from their region for the first time in 71 years. "However, the last two games in this round are extremely important, not only from a competitive aspect, but also in evaluating players as we look towards the vital preparations for the 2006 World Cup."

Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard will make his first appearance for the United States in the final round hexagonal, as well as his first for the team in 2005. The 2003 English Premier League Goalkeeper of the Year has one qualifying cap to his credit, earning his fifth career shutout for the MNT in the 2-0 win against El Salvador on Sept. 4, 2004, in Foxboro, Mass.

The roster features four starters from the USA’s last meeting against Costa Rica, a 3-0 U.S. win on June 4 in Salt Lake City, Utah, led by PSV Eindhoven midfielder DaMarcus Beasley. The 22-year old is the leading capwinner in 2006 qualifying on the roster, having started 12 matches and scoring four goals. He continues to add to his career-best scoring tally in a single year with the full team, having recorded four goals and four assists. Veteran defender Eddie Pope returns to the U.S. fold after missing the last three qualifiers, and with 72 appearances to his credit, ranks as the USA’s most experienced player in the squad. Carlos Bocanegra and Bobby Convey have both become regulars for the first XI at Fulham and Reading, respectively.

Two other veterans called into the match are defender Oguchi Onyewu of Standard de Liege in Belgium and midfielder Pablo Mastroeni of the Colorado Rapids. Surprisingly, Onyewu will be looking for just his 11th all-time cap this weekend following his sparkling performance in the team's victory over Mexico last month. Mastroeni has 42 caps to his credit and wore the captain's armband for the U.S. in their goalless draw in Guatemala on Sept. 7.

The U.S. roster boasts Major League Soccer’s leading marksman in striker Taylor Twellman, whose 16 goals top the MLS scoring table. The San Jose Earthquakes contribute the largest contingent, sending four players to Miami.  Brian Ching is back in the squad, already with four qualifying appearances under his belt and two goals, including the game-tying finish in the 89th minute of the 1-1 draw against Jamaica on Aug. 18, 2004. Defenders Wade Barrett and Danny Califf also make their return, while Ricardo Clark is the only player on the U.S. roster yet to receive his first cap with the full team.

The U.S. has a lifetime record of 11-9-4 against Costa Rica, but has never won on the road and holds a 0-5-1 record in six qualifying appearances in Costa Rica. In their last 10 meetings, the U.S. holds a 6-3-1 advantage against the Ticos, with all six wins coming in the U.S. and all three losses coming in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The U.S. team began training Monday morning in Miami. After the Costa Rica match on Oct. 8, the team will depart directly for Boston in advance of their final World Cup qualifier against Panama (tickets). That match takes place Wednesday, October 12 in Foxboro, Mass. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

Drama on the final day
30 September 2005
by FIFAworldcup.com

If playing in a FIFA World Cup™ finals remains the ultimate experience for any footballer, then the process of getting there brings its own unique pressure.
The high stakes ensure no shortage of shredded nerves as the qualifying competition concludes and the final verdict could not be starker: a black-and-white picture of joy and pain. As the last matches in Germany 2006 qualifying approach, FIFAworldcup.com recalls past dramas on the road to world football's greatest showpiece.

Four years ago David Beckham may have been loved by Manchester United fans but it was not until England's closing qualifier for Korea/Japan that he became a national hero. England had beaten Germany 5-1 in Munich a month earlier but now they trailed Greece 2-1 at Old Trafford and appeared destined for the play-offs. Deep into injury time, however, they won a free-kick on the edge of the Greek penalty area. Beckham stepped up coolly to curl the ball home and England's place in the Far East was secure.

French nightmare
If English fans recall fondly that late flourish then across La Manche, the French still have nightmares about the night of 17 November 1993. Needing a solitary point from home matches against Israel and Bulgaria, France looked certain qualifiers for USA 94 but a 3-2 loss to Israel set nerves on edge.

Then Bulgaria came to the Parc des Princes: Gerard Houllier's side took the lead through Eric Cantona but Emil Kostadinov equalised and in injury time the same player got on to the end of a Bulgarian breakaway to smash in a shot off the underside of the crossbar. While Bulgaria went on to reach the semi-finals in the States, back in France, the international career of David Ginola, who had lost possession in the build-up to Kostadinov's winning goal, never truly recovered.
Paris was not the only European city that witnessed some telling drama that night in 1993. In Seville, Spain lost goalkeeper Andoni Zubizarreta to a red card just ten minutes into their must-win match against Denmark. His replacement was an untried 23-year-old called Santiago Canizares. The future Valencia keeper rose to the occasion, however, making a succession of superb saves as Fernando Hierro's header sent Spain to the US - and left European champions Denmark reflecting on a second successive last-day disappointment.

While Spain celebrated it was an unhappy night for neighbours Portugal as their hopes died with a 1-0 defeat by Italy in Milan, Dino Baggio scoring the late winner before Fernando Couto was sent off as Portuguese frustrations boiled over. Wales supporters, meanwhile, will never forget Paul Bodin's missed penalty in their decisive home match against Romania. With the game in the balance at 1-1, Bodin rattled the crossbar and instead it was the Romanians who found a second goal. Romania proceeded to the quarter-finals in the States while the Welsh wait for a first finals appearance since 1958 continues.

It was against Wales four years earlier that Germany secured their passage to an Italia 90 tournament they would go on to win. It was an uncomfortable evening in Cologne, however, as the Germans fell behind before Rudi Voller and Thomas Hassler secured the victory Franz Beckenbauer's men needed to qualify as one of the best second-placed teams. Of course, the Germans were not the first side to win the FIFA World Cup after scraping into the finals - Argentina had done the same four years earlier.

Argentina leave it late
Diego Maradona would have never illuminated Mexico 86 had it not been for a late goal by Argentina substitute Ricardo Gareca in the Albicelestes' 2-2 draw with Mexico on 30 June 1985 in Buenos Aires. Carlos Bilardo's side needed to avoid defeat to pip Peru to first place in their group – and avoid a repeat of their elimination by the Peruvians prior to the 1970 finals - but were 2-1 down with ten minutes remaining. However, Daniel Pasarella then shot against a post and Gareca turned in the rebound and Argentina were on their way to Mexico.

It is the hard-luck stories that seem to stick in the memory longest, however. Japan famously lost out on a place at USA 94 after conceding an injury-time equaliser to Iraq in a match remembered on the archipelago as the 'Tragedy in Doha'. The 2-2 draw in Qatar meant the Japanese, who had then yet to reach a FIFA World Cup, missed out on goal difference to arch-rivals Korea Republic.

Of course the Japanese have since reached three successive FIFA World Cup finals but you wonder whether Trinidad and Tobago will ever get another chance after coming so close in 1989. Curiously they played the very first qualifier for Italia 90 – a 4-0 win against Guyana on 17 April 1988 – and also the last, against the US 20 months later. The small Caribbean country needed just a draw in Port of Spain to qualify for Italy but went down 1-0 to a goal from the USA's Paul Caligiuri. The Americans had their first finals place in 40 years and have not looked back since. As for T&T, the long wait goes on.

Is that football was not meant to be played on artificial grass.

It really affects the standard of play and the flow of the game.
