Yes cartman big respect. i visit the pure football forum every day and it will be nice to get additional info on the club. BTW have you heard anything new on carlos?                    positive.

Hey Just Cool....cool name by the way, the new forum I am talking about is not the PF one you talk about, this one has no links to the SMB at all.

It has only been around since January and we have nearly 800 members already, if you fancy a look visit

www.blackcatchat.net

You can get away with murder on the site mate and the mods are so relaxed  ;D

At least he appreciates his fans....Let's hope he stays that way.

In this day andage with the average footballer being a multi millionare it is really nice to hear of a player putting something back into the community. In Sunderland it's things like this that makes a player special

Yeh but he need to score some goals.

Nobody is worriedby his lack of goals man, he creates chances for others and his all round play is fantastic, I would not swap him for any striker in the PL

Last I heard the club had Carlos in an oxygen tent to speed up his recovery, he may be fit a week or 2 hopefully. He has been so unlucky this season

Don't know if any of you are aware or even interested  ;D but there is a new Sunderland forum at www.blackcatchat.net

It is really easy going and not at bitchy as the SMB, you can swear and everything, anything goes really

If any of you do join put me down as a referer as I get credits to use in the games section of the site  8)

It is very much in it's infancy at the moment and at any one time there is only around 40 people on it but we are a nice family  :beermug:

You will be welcomed with open arms

JUst heard our chairman Niall Quinn on the radio singing the praises of big Kenwynne, he was at an autograph signing session yesterday and was only supposed to be there for an hour, so many people turned up to see him that he stayed 3 hours so that all the kids got their autographs.

Kenwynne is becoming a bit of a cult figure at Sunderland and has improved so much as a player under Keano, I hope he is still at Sunderland in ten years time

Big respect to big Kenwynne

Oh, I kind of understand now, cheers mate. Life is great in the North East it has been a nice sunny day today and temperature reached the dizzy heights of 8 degrees  8)

Had a great night last night after our win and Newcastle's defeat, I could not smile wide enough all night  ;D

Kenwynne looked a little tired yesterday with all the travelling he did last week but still put in 100%. He is such an important player to us an if we stay up I am sure he will be given a new contract and a lot more money. We did well to win yesterday when you consider we had around 8 midfield players out injured

Have you visited www.blackcatchat.net, it a new forum for Sunderland supporters

Could have done with a team full of Trini's yesterday, we were terrible in the 2nd half. We could not hold the ball up and really missed Yorke in the middle pulling the strings.

Gutted about Richardson, done his hamstring again after about 30 seconds, it was game over from then imo

We move on, simple as

Kenwynne has been fabulous for Sunderland this season, our best player in fact and Keane rates him as the best striker in the PL, he says he would not sel him for £40m  :o

I can't beleive at Southampton he was accused of being lazy, he runs his ass off for 90 minutes at Sunderland.

Carlos isn't fit yet, probably another couple of weeks, he must be really gutted as he has hardly played this season. We expected so much from Carlos this season and I am convinced if both he and Keiran Richardson had remained fit this season we would be a lot higher up the league.

Bring on Liverpool, easy 3 points eh  ;D

Disagree JP, the atmosphere where I was sitting was great and I am pretty close to the SE corner and therefore the away fans. The North stand was quiet but both SE & SW corners were up for it. The Liverpool fans were fantastic to be fair, backed their team throughout and certainly added to the occasion.

I sit about 3 rows in front of houghton ref in the west stand, very near the swc and away fans, and the atmosphere was pants, we badly lack variation and any creativity in our songs.  It was like a morgue in the home end at times.  Liverpool by contrast had a huge array of songs and were loud throughout despite having their allocation ridiculously reduced.  Lets not dress it up like we are creating a cauldron of noise, because we definitely didnt.

Never said we made cauldran of noise mate, what I did say was that the atmosphere was good which I still believe

yeah i spent one week here, doing nothing

just floating man,...........just floating ;D
now its back to the serious stuff of football

on another note, what's with some SMBers and their opinions about what's going on?
some seem harsh

Some of our fans want instant success mate, it aint gonna happen overnight and our board seems to be overun with kids at the moment without a brain cell between them  ;D Most of the fans understand that it will take time to achieve any kind of success

Cheers mate, yeah it's been fab but the summer has gone so quickly, it doesn't seem 2 minutes since we were promoted last season.

I am relatively happy with our start so far, we played well against Tottenham and did ok against Liverpool but they were just too good for us. The atmosphere for the home games has been fantastic with big crowds, we had the 2nd biggest crowd of the day on Saturday, only Arsenal had more, not bad for a newly promoted side and Liverpool only brought 2000 fans.

The thing that bothered me over the summer was that we seem to struggle to attract the top players to Sunderland at the moment, that will hopefully change when we establish ourselves as a PL team.

I have not been on here much lately or the SMB to be honest as my laptop in broken and it is a pain in the arse to have to use the computer upstairs. Mostly just go on when I am at work now  :rotfl:

How have you been lately, do anything nice over the summer?

Cartman, you've gone mad, the atmosphere against liverpool was shite, we were outsung by 2000 scousers in our own ground.

Rumours around Sunderland are that he is set to sign very soon with possilbly Stern John going the other way.

I don't really know much about Kenwyne to be honest guys, what are his attributes? Is he quick, physical, strong etc?

Do you think he can make the step up to the EPL?

We are really missing Carlos at Sunderland, we have no balance in midfield now as we do not have another right winger at the club. He is out for another 3 weeks according to Sunderland's physio......never mind though as we have a real easy game next week, Manchester United away  :'(

I am gonna be in Turkey that day so no doubt I will be the only Sunderland supporter there surrounded by loads on Man U fans  :o

Every body wishing Spann all de best on his trial, dat is very good, let meh wish him all de best also. But hear meh nah, like all de members forget tuh give Keane his ratings and large him up, yuh have tuh love dis man, which club coach yuh know dat willing tuh give so many T&T players (beside Yorke) players ah chance tuh be some body and put food on dey table? Of course Yorke will have his opinion and help push tuh get de T&T players ah contract, but doh get it twisted, at de end of de day, is Keane decision tuh decide if yuh should stay or go. So ah will say, Large up tuh Mr Keane, and huge respect tuh you sir. Whether Spann get a contract at Sunderland or not, we de people of T&T appreciate your efforts and faith dat you have in our lil island players and we hope you continue tuh look at our players. HIGHLY BLESSED.

Nice comments Supa

I think Stern John may go, he the 2nd half of the friendly against Darlington on Wednesday night and missed loads of chances.

Yorke will not be going anywhere, he is Keane's general on the pitch imo. He may not start every game next season but will be in every squad. Keane has talked about Dwight's influence on other players, they all look up to him and respect him.

Future coach I hope.

We bear Darlington 2 - 0 by the way, we took 5,500 fans to an away friendly match. Very impressive.

Hi guys, there is a rumour going around Sunderland at the moment that we have Sylvio Spann on trial at the club, he has been seen training with the first team.

Can you tell me about him, do you think he is good enough for the EPL?

Did you hear that we have bid £9m for scottish goalie Craig Gordon, a lot of money for a keeper imo

Football / Saturday night/Sunday morning
« on: May 09, 2007, 05:57:23 AM »
I am back in the land of the living after the longest weekend of my life. I went out with my wife for a 'few' drinks on Saturday night bt I had decided to be careful as I was going to Luton Sunday morning.

Well I think you guys know me well enough to know what happened, I bumped into a lot of friends and we had a few drinks too many and by midnight I was a litte drunk  :-[ Got home at 1am and ordered takeaway food, chicken kebab very nice, finally went to bed at around 2am. What a good boy I am.

I could not sleep as I was soooooo excited about the game but I must have fell asleep around 3am. My alarm woke me at 4:30 and I felt like a complete bag of sh*t, I had 100 hundred soldiers marching around in my head! Quick shower and some headache tablets and I was in the taxi.

We got picked up outside the stadium at 5:40 and we were on our way by 6am. I tried to sleep but couldn't as I felt terrible, my own fault I know. The journey seemd to take forever but at every stop on the way there were so many Sunderland fans, we were only given 1800 tickets but the police reckon we took around 8000 fans down.

We got to the ground with about 40 minutes to kick off so we got seats behind the goal in the front row, we were applauding the players and they were applauding us back, very nice in fact niceness.

The match kicked off, you all know the score but the performance was just awesome, we murdered them big time. When we scored the first goal pockets of Sunderland fans in every stand jumped up and it was only then could you see how many fans we had in the ground, some even had colours on in with the home fans, crazy  :rotfl:

At 4 nil up a little ripple started in the directors box and then our end erupted as we heard that Preston had scored, we knew then we were champions, what a feeling. To top it off we added a 5th goal near the end.

Our fans were magnificent throughout, the singing at times had me a little emotional to be honest and my chest was bursting with pride.

The players at the end were great too, they were celebrating with us like we were all friends together, that's how it should be in football there is too much of the 'them and us' attitude, surely we are all in it together as one. I have to admit I turned into a big kid wanting to shake players hands and pat them on the back  ;D

The journey home seemed to take forever but I finally got home at 9pm, totally exhausted but managed to stay awake long enough (2am) to watch the highlights and drink a half a bottle of vodka!

This season, especially since January has been the best in my memory. Hopefully next season can be equally as exciting. We are being linked with some fabulous players and I am sure our signings will be impressive but we have the basis of a good team and maybe need a goalkeeper and a good striker, also a couple of defenders if Jonny Evans and Danny Simpson go back to Man Utd.
