We need to play as many European sides as possible.  Chances are there will be 2 Euro teams in our group and we've always had problems with the their style of play.

Top good looking teachers at Fatima during the 80's

1) Ms Zakoor
2) Ms Gooding
3) Ms Avril Coar

Holy Sh!t I allyuh real bringin back memories!

Ms Gooding was one of my teachers in Form 1, Mr Ramdass was our home teacher.

I remember he was checking her out hard but she ended up with one of the upper six boys (I forget his name). Years later he was the goalie my GUADIY side (the campus football competition at UWI) .  The last time I saw him he was living in French Guiana.

That man was my hero.

FATIMA need they own category on this Forum yes, any time a thread start with Fatima in it, it does turn into reunion and walk down memory lane.
With our own category we could start our own threads like:
Who was the sexiest female teacher.
Who get the most licks from Romero and Fr. Giraud
Who copy the most homework.
Who tief the most gyal from Saints men.

Tallman what yuh say?

Seeing as I spent every day (and a few times twice in one day) in Romero's office in Form 3 (83/84) the most licks thing have to be mine.

That Ifill fella was a real jackass.....come to thimk of it Mrs Marin wasn't fond of me either.

Plenty of them was going to Belmont and Belmont was not playing any football this year so they get draft over.

When Moore was principal he never wanted men drafted to run ball...even brace Gally as coach...is one man I know come over from 5 rivers, dey had to send 2 fellas to help him write he entrance exam cause he couldn't spell or read properly...he end up playing only half a season den get ban...if ah say why allyuh go make out who and i ent want to embarass nobody

I remember that policy.  It was funny because Saints and QRC used to (if not still) draft men in wholesale to play football.

I don't see a problem with giving poeple with talent a chance at better education  ;) .

Moore didn't have a clue about very much though, the school went to hell when he took over...pleasant fellow though.  I remember in form 6 getting sent to the principals office along with one Scott Rodriguez for breaking beach and spending the rest of the afternoon there discussing the upcoming game against Pres in the big Seven!

By the time the bell rang at the end of school I think he had forgotten why we were there and we left without punishment!

It's VERY unlikely that we would be drawn in the same group.

The simple fact is that because of our mineral wealth we have never promoted ourselves for tourism as has been done in Jamaica and Barbados.  Eric Williams never did want the white tourists contaminating his country (I mean............Barbados culture is an oxymoron and it's only through reggae/dancehall and its larger size that Jamaica has managed to hold on to its identity in the face of the white tide).

Is it any wonder that they are the islands most recognized in the Caribbean???

Also be fair who ever came up the with the name Jamaica is a marketing genius after all It does roll off the tougue more easily the Trinidad and Tobago  ;D!

BTW before people start bawling racism I'm a white Trini.........OK more like off-white.

Football / Re: Bahrain players get big rewards after World Cup bid
« on: November 29, 2005, 06:11:16 PM »
confusion causing story.

Bahrain have money like rain so they could do things like that.

We need to remember that TnT on the whole is a poor country with many sub standard parts of society.
So money cannot be just handed out to players who did well......................

That's a load of rubbish TnT is not a poor nation by any stretch.  The problem is the poor distribution of wealth combined with the corruption in government.  Add to that the tendency to give contracts to foreign companies (to send OUR money abroad) instead of nuturing and developing local business to fulfil such contracts so that most of the money can stay where it belongs.

The "substandard parts of society" exist solely because of our leaders lack of desire to truly raise the standard of living for ALL its citizens.  All of the problems of crime and violence stem directly from this single factor.

You can buy a house for each player and throw in a hefty cash bonus as well and that would be insignificant compared to what is going into the pockets of Gov't ministers.

What the players have done is put our nation on the world stage and excorcised the demons of 1989.

I'm not saying that we should make them milliionares but such merit deserves a concrete token of appreciation.

Stern would be better off going back to MLS than struggling in the Championship.

The MLS standard has improved and he would play regularly.

« on: November 26, 2005, 05:23:58 PM »
We have a seroius weakness against the European style of play so we definitely need to play a few games against some teams from that region.

I remember when the U20's were preparing for the world cup we beat Brazil 4-2 then lost 4-0 to England right afterwards.  In the world cup Brazil made the finals and England didn't get past the first round (neither did we for that matter).

The tight marking gives us a hard time for some reason.

I'll take my chances against any Asian, South American (bar Brazil and Argentina), and African team.  It the european I'm worried about.

« on: November 25, 2005, 01:04:29 PM »
Any talk of catastrophic misses must include Philbert Jones.

It was an Olympic Qualifier against the USA in 1987 or 88 when Gally had just been appointed coach.

My boy was in the 6 yard box when he head a ball down and it bounce off the ground and went over the bar!!!

As a matter of fact there were a host of catastrophic misses in that game.

So we meeting up St. Augustine in the Intercol finals once again.

I was there in 1981 when we lost 1:0 on a swamp that passed for a football pitch.

I hope history doesn't repeat itself  ;D.

Maybe Australia breds but not Ghana or Serbia.

If Beenie still around in 2010 then we'll be a force but right now we still have a LOT of work to do.

Ah want to ask a honest question, you feel that Luton training hard than Jabloteh training :waiting:? and if so please stat why ........ah boy :bs:

 ::)
I seriously doubt that any PFL side could be competitive in the Football Conference much less the Championship.

I'm not questioning the talent of Trini players but the preparation methods of the football clubs.  For example the days of running laps for fitness are long gone.  Now it's a combination of swimming, aerobics and gymwork.  There's a lot more science involved these days.

You really can't compare Jabloteh to a club like Luton.

Autis could only benefit from training in such an environment.

Consoles are good for sports and fighting games.  For anything else invest in a decent PC.

Trinicana forget Doom 3 and get FEAR.  Thats the best shooter since Half Life 2.

The FIFA rankings are a pile of @$$ and have little bearing on the relative strength of national teams especially among the top 25%.

Anyone here seriously think that the US (ranked 7th) is really better than Spain (8th), England (9th), Italy (12th), Germany (15th) or even Croatia (19th)??????????

We're ranked higher than Scotland.  Anyone remember what happened the last time we played them?

As for Jamaica we've beaten them once since 2000!  How is it that we're so much better than them now?

Don't let World Cup qualification go to your head.
