Nani is a gifted player no question but talented left-footed wingers are ...Bale for me.

Btw Bale is definitely not the best player in the world but I challenge any of you to name a better left-footed winger than him or better yet name a team that wouldn't want a player like him.

Hard luck today reds.  I thought it was going to be your day with the early injuries to key players, shots cleared off the line and the penalty miss (granted it was a bad call).

Hell of a fightback today but I feel we pushing our luck now.....supporting Spurs is definitely not for weak hearts :D

Under Florida's Stand Your Ground Law, a resident can presume the threat of bodily harm or death from anyone who breaks into a home, and is allowed to take defensive measures, including deadly force, against an intruder.

We need laws like that in T&T, as it is stands you'll probably spend more time in jail for killing a bandit that's trying to rob you than the bandit will for killing you.

That comic ent joking nah.  I was reading comments from the first half in the game thread on the Spurs fan site  and men was ready to scrap the whole team and fire Harry...amazing what 45 mins can do to one's outlook.

English fans are a very volatile lot....not that we much better :D

I don't see what this will accomplish.  If it's the police themselves that are arming criminals who are we expecting to gather the evidence to get convictions?  If the police are corrupt and/or incompetent no law can be effective.  We might as well change the laws to let citizens arm themselves and give them the right to defend their life and property from the kinds of criminals.

I already mentioned this in other threads but I'll say it again:  The only way to get rid of leeches is to cut off their blood supply.

We need a grassroots campaign to end all monetary support, public and private, to the TTFF until there is a change in leadership and measures are adopted to to ensure transparency in all business transactions.  When it's no longer possible for the leeches running Trinidad and Tobago football to suck funds into their personal coffers they'll step down.

Spurs and Bolton went at it.

Bolton 4 vs Tottenham 2  FT

I'm not surprised by this result at all.  I think Harry went to defensive at the beginning playing 2 defensive midfielders plus Krancjar on the right wing was out of his element so we lacked balance.  Our defense was incredibly poor today as well.

I felt that when we pulled it back to 3-2 we were going to get a point because they got nervy at that point but that stamp by Huddlestone incensed them and brought them right back at us.

Overall Bolton deserved the 3 points offside first goal notwithstanding.

Football / Re: Maicon
« on: November 04, 2010, 01:30:03 PM »
I find all this abuse for Maicon is harsh.  In addition to not supporting him on the wing Inter allowed Bale to repeatedly get the ball in midfield unchallenged and attack the defense at full pace.  You can bet your life that Bale won't have that kind of room against Bolton this weekend. Besides there were other factors contributing to Inter's defeat, you can't lay it all at Maicon's feet.

Rafa clearly has to share the burden.  One get's the feeling his game plan was based on how Bale played last season and not the last game against Inter plus you have to wonder how different the game would have been if Milito had started.

The problem here is not with Islam, it's Arabic culture.  Whenever there's news like this related to Islam it invariably comes from the Middle east region.

I'm curious if the same happens in Islamic nations like Indonesia and Brunei.

Final Score Inter 4 -Spurs 3

Amazing fightback in the second half but 4 goals was just too much to overcome....Gareth Bale is on an amazing run of form though.  Now only if we can get our first half issues in away games we'd bet set.

They sparkle a little, but still end up in ... pieces!

10 men pull back 3 goals against the defending champions and that's 'sparkle a little'?   Allyuh men is kicks yes.

Spurs getting skin outtt from inter...

Dey ent sparkle?

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

4-0 now and Spurs down to 10 men with Gomes sent off...

It not looking too good for Spurs.

Pieces...... Pieces!!

Inter score a goal in the 2'nd minute and then 5 minutes after that Gomes give up a penalty and get a red card.  Pretty much game over from that point.

I always  like Beneteau sailboats, well appointed inside and quick as hell.  I used to do some racing in T&T at TYA and I went up to Grenada in the Girl Pat race one year.  There was a company that chartered Beneteaus there and I got to tour a few of the boats.  It's been my dream to own one since.

Could be speculation.. or it could be true...

I normally pay most respect to the Guardian and Times but mind you this is the same guy that had sources saying Vidic will definitely leave this summer that now ended and now he's the captain...

It's all too early... of course the press will be littered in this nonsense tomorrow... maybe he's just trying the that's not enough money wildcard until we fold and offer more

I think it will be career suicide should he leave

I cannot imagine United without Rooney 10 in it...it will be a massive shock and massive loss... Irreplaceable

Yeah because Tevez form has nosedived badly since leaving you.

Allyuh ManU fans is kicks yes.  It's one thing if Rooney was in his 30's but the man is still in his physical prime at 24.  Clearly his loss of form is due to off-field issues affecting his focus, those issues will pass and he'll return to form.  Except now Fergie has alienated Rooney so the resurgence may well occur at another club.  If that club should happen to be the billionaires across town expect to finish behind TWO teams in blue on a regular basis.

No player is bigger than any club but apparently the manager is....at ManU anyway.

Dred pleeze! ferguson tried tuh help rooney by sayin he nursin an ankle injury; rooney let his ego take over and contradicted his manager in the press. Rooney has been very unprofessional by creatin drama and now he can't do his damn job. fergusion's responsibiity is to the team not indulge rooney on the present head trip he seems to be on. so if rooney have a problem with that then he should buss it.

Rooney is in no way an innocent in all this, that's a given but considering the debt hanging over the club ManU cannot afford to lose their last marquee player.  Not only is he irreplaceable but the Glazers won't even bother to try.

The only loser in a Rooney transfer is ManU.

Rooney is very replaceable especially with the type of effort and shite he playing this year. I have no problem with United selling him and using the funds to bring in another player. My only concern is whether they will be allowed to use the money to buy a quality player.

Given the Glazers' track record you think that going to happen?  What happened to the $80 million from Ronaldo's transfer?

Latapy needs to help develop our local players and not look to depend on the foreign base to bail him out, after all he makes alot of money and should justify it.

What this person wants Latapy do to, sit on his ass and wait for the foreigners to make him look good.

Spend some time with the locals, get a solid program and get the TTFF to support and if the TTFF not support it, then leave because you will look like that bad guy in the end, not the TTFF.

Last time I checked Latapy is the national coach not national football director.  His job is to select the best players available and mold them into a cohesive unit not nurture and develop local talent....that's supposed to be the TTFF's job.

I'm not saying that Latapy has been a success at his job but don't lump the TTFF's failures on him as well.
