Abu Bakr is a shithound

Not a good athlete, not a great reader of the game, not good on the ball. What is the point of him playing again?

So u guys saying that the commentators picking on him cause he Black?

or

Allyuh picking up for him cause he black?

Thank you!

Balotelli is an ass plain and simple. A blind man could see that he was going to get a red card today. I'm sure the ref saw his tackle on Song at half time so he was watching Balotelli closely. Mancini failed the team by not taking him off and Balotelli failed himself by not making any potentially reckless challenges. A pardna of mine describe him as being like Tyson. He lacks insight or the ability to be introspective.

Where did we find this keeper?

He played in de SSFL with Carapichaima and he was in the squad that went to the 2009 U-20 World Cup in Egypt.
I saw the highlights of both games. This guy is way to excitable and error prone.

I saw the 2nd half and was bitterly disappointed.

First off we play with a back 3. I don't know of anyone else in world football doing that now. Positioning defensively was a problem as a result. There were always gaps wide as the wide midfielders were clueless defensively. When the back 3 went out to challenge, more gaps were created in the middle. Why reinvent the wheel? Having said that, we are good in the air, however our defenders go to the ground a little too much and tracking our attackers needs to be better.

Our midfield is a problem. There is too large a gap from back to front at all times, both offensively and defensively. That is a coaching problem as Eve needs to prepare the team to be more compact. The midfielders, except for a #4 did not routinely show for the ball from defenders. That resulted in our defenders hoofing the ball to the forwards. Nobody seemed capable of holding the ball and controlling the play.

I question the tactical awareness of the coach and the players. Things never changed or improved during the course of the match. From a technical standpoint, we are not very good either. Our touch was not good and we were not well organized. Players did not look like they understood their roles. Canada was not very  good but they were well organized.

Maybe the team was tired from a hectic schedule or Eve was looking at different players but this team has a lot of work to do to stand a chance.

Is it me or is Mertesacker unconvincing? Wenger really need to get an adviser when buying central defenders Cygan, Squillachi, Senderos and now Mertesacker  ;D

He's grown on me still not my idea of a great centre back but he does a job and keeps it simple ... still of the opinion that as long as we get back our wingbacks his day as a starter is numbered. I think in Kos and TV we may have the best two central defenders in the league and considering the work theyre doing as wingbacks as well .. in terms of versatility they are second to none!
Absolutely right!!!

Good lord; Arshavin is shite!
Sell him to Anzhi!
That man clearly not able at this level anymore.

Oxalde-Chamberlain was the best player on the field in the Carling Cup game. Why is Wenger playing Arshavin above him?

Ship him out with Anelka! If Arsenal had gotten something from Walcott today Arsenal could have at least gotten a point. Rick James was making some nice runs but Arsenal couldn't put pressure on Walcott's side to work that City defence.

Totally agree with you there. Theo was anonymous. I was hoping he would have more of an impact second half but once Arshavin came on I knew it was game over.

which is a hell of a thing to know as a fan...the players know it too make no mistake.  all these cameos arsh getting i hope some club side mad enuf to take him in january.

all i have to say is this:

we are all just fans, we do nothing that directly affects the team and how they play, maybe if we are actually at each game screaming our heads off.
BUT
buying a shirt and backing "ah bess side" doesnt give ANY of us the right to shit on another human being for solely backing another side.
be it banter or picong should remain team/player/manager focused and NOT directed at the supporter.

the quicker we realise this and do not engage tollerate and teach the younger one how to be real FOOTBALL fans the more fun we will have. now i a man cant take talk about his sides performance thats his problem and should take up golf

just remember, nothing lasts forever, manu fans in particular will find that lesson the hardest to learn simpy because of the great heights they have been lifted to by thier manager and the players he controlled NOT by wearing a shirt and shouting glory glory man united. i have alwayssaid i like manu the club an drespect thie rachievements i do not like how thier fans treat other supporters of other clubs. wlcome to the beginning of the end of an era

As much as i'd like to believe in the man, Wenger doesn't make sense sometimes. He keeps saying that he will only sign players of super quality that can add something to Arsenal. How does this square with his signing of Silvestre, Squillaci and Sol? He has said that we need a CB since January and nada so far. Man needs a calpet to get moving!

Dansteel, the point about British 'Character' has less to do with international football than adaptability to the Premier League. Those are 2 different beasts. Man U won the PL last year on character. Maybe you haven't been watching but French football is like Trini football. They are at their lowest ebb currently. Remember SA 2010?

Don't believe the hype about Csec and Nasri being in the CL squad. It also includes Bendtner, Almunia and Eboue who we know are all moving. Having said that, I think we will know more about our squad for this season when we see who lines up against Udinese next week.

I also do believe that the English media love to see Arsenal fail, but that is because of the perceived arrogance of Wenger who fails to see what everyone else sees. I agree that the team was not far last year but has he done enough so far? If we keep both or at least one of Csec and Nasri plus we add a top notch CB, we will contend.

I was there.

Plenty of Barca bandwagonists. Poor form booing Chivas in a friendly match tells you that the crowd didn't know much about football. Chivas has a forward #9, big, strong, fast and technical. The #8 who scored the goals was good too. They had a guy on the left wing who was eating Dos Santos in the entire first half.

Xavi is so sublime on the ball it's scary. Thiago is pressure too, just got his first Spain call up. I agree that Barca lack depth. Even their backup keeper Pinto is a snake.

Fun game!

It's not an attack/defense thing, but I will agree that the attack has a lot to do with it. Oftentimes last season, I have commented during games that Arsenal needs to stop playing with their food. They are usually in complete control of a game on the field, but not on the scoreboard, and (much like this weekend with NY) they piss away chances until the opposition scores (usually a lucky goal or a set piece). I think this is why Wenger looks at attacking players more. He knows it's not enough to dominate, everybody can get scored on, but you need to be able to make your dominance count. I don't count preseason games much, after all, Van Persie spent most of his time trying to nutmeg a defender. Not exactly a focused effort.

One of the things this team does, that the invincibles era did not, is slow down their game. When Arsenal went down a goal in the Highbury days, they didn't change the attacking philosophy, it didn't become more direct, they just did it faster and faster so that the opponent was run ragged and then the killer blow was applied. This team likes to get into a lead and then coast. It's the coasting that's killing them, not the offence or defense.

Just my 2 cents.
Very well said. The truth is if we put away half the chances we have and stop coasting we would be much better. They were clinical in 2 games for me last season and they had alternate results because of their mentality.

Newcastle they were clinical and got to 4-0 then their arrogance made them stop playing and they were punished for it. Chelsea they were up 3-0 but because they respected that Chelsea could still come back they kept vigilant to the end.

The big problem with this team is they need to be more "efficient" offensively and more mentally stable.

this isn't sour grapes because I have raised this point before but why does FIFA leave time keeping to the reff and 4th official???

Too much room for error and space for accusations of cheating or favoritism

It should be like in basketball the reff only blows a whistle for action on the field period

Refs catch their ass to see everything as the game goes on farless what time it is how much to add etc

Why won't FIFA do they things that will increase integrity to the game?

What exactly are you complaining about?  There were two very long delays caused by injuries to both Carroll and Carragher.  I was actually surprised there wasn't more time added.  Then on top of that you had two more delays in added time... one for Arsenal's penalty and then for the Suarez free kick.  Time keeping definitely wasn't a factor in this game.
I think he makes a good point. If they got rid of the running clock then everyone would know the final whistle comes a 90min period.

Secondly, they usually don't add time to the added time.  That they went to 12min added time is ridiculous.

That said, Arsenal are their own worst enemy led by Arsene Wenger. I have always been a supporter of his but clearly he is unable to inspire this team to the title.

I sincerely hope to eat those words.

Chow all that talk about parking the bus is just you hating as a Chelsea fan. Exactly what Barca does, attacking the ball while on defense, is exactly what Arsenal did. Fact is, Arsenal outshot Barca. If RVP was his usual more clinical self it could have been more. The first chance of the game is something he would normally score.
Barca had more possession as you would expect but you have to consider where that possession was. Mostly at the middle and back. I saw someone say that Barca didn't respect Arsenal so they left the middle open. In the same vein you could say that Arsenal didn't respect Barca so they gave Villa a free run on goal. Arsenal's possession is much more direct than Barca. Besides Messi and to some extent Alves, no Barca player really attempted to take on their defenders. Nasri and Walcott ran at defenders with every chance. Fact is, Fabregas and RVP didn't have their best games overall and will improve for the next game. Nasri will improve, Song will improve, Sagna will replace Eboue. The better team won.

See you guys on Carnival Tuesday.

I hoping for the best vs Barca...but if we hadda get we cutarse...take it early and concentrate on the Carling, FA Cup and League...in that order.

If Squillaci or Kosielny get injured now what?

We were always short in defence and he ent buy nobody when clearly we lacking big time.

Under all kicks...Vermalen and Nasri coming back good as new for that Barca game...he keeping them two quiet.

I agree with your last statement. Clearly this season he has not had guys playing injured. He has been protecting every player until they are fully recovered. I expect Nasri to make a miraculous recovery before the Barca game.

I disagree on your order of priorities. CC first because we are in the final, PL, CL, FA.

It seems obvious that the League, Refs and Media want Man U to win their 19th.

Barton tries to break Diaby's leg and Diaby gets a red for shoving him to the ground.

As if the first penalty call wasn't soft,  the ref calls a second penalty for something that wouldn't even be a foul in basketball.

Funny thing is, i'm not even angry about this game. In fact, I actually think this will galvanize the team and push us on.

We will win the league this year!!!

Seriously FA? That's what passes for onside? That's what passes as an official?

f**k you

To be fair The ball was played back by the Arsenal defender to Saha technically becomes onside. Seldom called because it happens so fast, but its the right decision.

On another note I hope the FA look at Arteta faking he got stamped and rolling all over the place. Everyone seems to be in on this act and it needs to be addressed
You couldn't be more wrong on your interpretation of the offside rule.

Ah waiting! What is the offside law? I know Saha was in an offside position when the ball was played. So take it from there and explain!

Ah doh want to get in the middle of this...but from what I know...as long as the player was offside when HIS team mate passes the ball to him, it does not matter who touched it before he receives the ball, he is still offside. But let say the Arsenal defender controlled the ball and then he attempted to pass the ball back to his keeper, then the offensive player is no longer offside. In this scenario, the ball hit the defender and end up at the feet of Saha who was already offside, even before the defender touched the ball, so he is in this case was offside. Hope this is clear, if I am wrong then someone needs to explain it to me too  :)

Big Up!

Understood, but their is a difference  between touch it and played by.

So are you saying that the defender "played" the ball to the forward? I think that's like saying if the ball had reached in the box and the keeper picked it up, then it would be a back pass...no?

I see it as a continuous play and if the forward was initially offside, then he is still offside...the defender has a right to try and prevent the ball from reaching the forward...the ball bouncing off his foot and then going to the already offside forward makes no difference.

How many times you see a keeper punt a long ball up and a defender jumps up for the ball, the ball hits his head and goes to a forward and the whistle blows for offside? It happens all the time.

Big Up!

or how bout a keeper passes a ball out to his last defender and the ball is intercepted by another player who was standing in an offside position.

Remember what happened with Nani vs Tottenham earlier this year where Gomez placed the ball on the ground and nani ran on to it and scored.
That is not offside because he is behind the ball.

It was offside, Observer, because the defender never had control of the ball so it can't be deemed that he played the ball to the forward. Secondly, Saha was going to a ball played to him in an offside position even before the touch from Koscielny. That would make him offside from the onset of the play. Thirdly, both managers agree that it was offside. Need I say more?

Wilshire ... youth not bad but somehow I would prefer Rosicky instead the man does work hard and have vision and technique to burn..
Fabianski has done well I have to admit but I would prefer the other keeper but because they're so close together they will keep each other honest.

agree with this! would also like to see arsenal sign a DM, because denilson doesn't seem a good fit for the role. if song is injured we in trouble. my guess is that wenger won't sign one and wait on the return of frimpong.

but as you mentioned Vela, what is your opinion of him?

I actually rate Vela good speed and touch could finish too but ...... he is a confidence player (like most players I imagine) my thing with him is he tends to drift in and out of games alot and if the game isn't going Arsenal's way he won't be the one to turn it ... I guess he is not a difference maker so to speak.
To be fair to him he has not gotten enough games but I question whether he would be able to produce in big games... to me with him is all mental because he has more ability than his counterpart in man united yet chicha tends to make better use of his chances and Vela does not :(
Agree here. Mexico had him selected ahead os Chicharito showing that even they rate Vela higher. His problem is mental. He is lacking confidence and bite.
