how is "he is just another makalele" supposed to be a criticism? That is like the ultimate compliment you could give to a defensive midfielder.

Better passer? Daiz not he wuk!

I'm not calling him a shithong. I think he is very good at fulfilling his role as a midfield destroyer.

IMHO Song is as good defensively as he is but is better offensively. Hence, I think Song is the better overall player.

I respect your opinion, but I think he looks better offensively because he playing too far up de judgement pitch... and i will give him a bly because that could very well be Wenger fault, but Arsenal does leak real goals because their back 4 exposed.. And as a defensive midfielder, a side that can't keep clean sheets is a reflection on you.

Imo Obi Mikel's touch and vision is a cut above.. yuh doh really see him mistrap or get muscle off the ball. De youth does look composed and in control, he just have to improve on he mental.
See I don't really rate his vision.

I have said before that he takes up good positions in support and he doesn't really give the ball away, i.e. he has good touch and holds on to the ball well. But I also think that Song excels at those same things and adds a little more offensively. No doubt that Arsenal doesn't defend as well as Chelsea but I think that's as a team which is a reflection on Wegner.

BTW thanks for engaging in an adult debate. I can't take these young cats on here who think that hurling insults is a form of debate.

But you open yourself to dat with the tone of your initial post.  ???
I eh know where allyuh does come out nuh.   If yuh wanted respectful debate you could have respectfully disagreed.

Mikel has no vision. He only ever spots sideways passes. The exception might be last weekend against Cardiff when he played a straightforward ball over the top for Drogba to score - but dat was really just awful defending, not great vision. Other than that I can't ever remember Mikel making a great pass.

Dunno if it was caught on camera, but at one point yesterday, Drogba threw a full-blown tantrum because he kept making runs than Mikel was completely not spotting.

Ryan, we jess go have to agree to (respectfully) disagree. A few moments of frustration "..at one point...." on Drogba's (the ultimate Drama Queen) part isn't enough in my book to dispel what I have seen him do with my own two eyes in the past and what I know he's capable of.  Chelsea has pigeon-holed him and restricted his role on the team and he seems quite comfortable playing to instructions.  In time, I know people will appreciate his not-so-obvious talent as a natural playmaker.

dumpalewie, when yuh skin soft and yuh sensitivities permit you to engage only in "adult debate" , that is how you must address to people on  "this forum".  Otherwise, pee and go in yuh bed (or go in yuh bed and pee, whichever suits you better)

You are right and for that i respectfully apologize!

I fail to see how people could think Wegner was out of line by saying that 3 major injuries in 5 years cannot be just written off as coincidental.

He never specified that Shawcross was attempting to injure Ramsey and I don't think that anyone in their right mind thinks so. What he was referring to was the "To beat Arsenal you have to get stuck into them" mentality that makes players tackle that much harder and leads to these incidents.

I agree with what he said. If this happened to Rooney, Lampard or any other English star you would see how different the English media would be.

....and to think....the jokers that does want to come and talk shit, comparing Song to Mikel.....week in, week out, song always gettin' caught out of position....same old song, over and over again.....Stoke takes an early lead......I continue to laugh.
Breds again you are jokey!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

If you are one of the idiots that want to claim Alexandre Song is better than John Obi Mikel and everything someone writes has to be broken down to you to the most fundamental of levels, again, I thank you for the compliment.
No i'm one of those people who thinks that you are a ranting idiot!!!

That crap you wrote about Mikel being a misunderstood passer is some of the most dotish analysis i've seen on here. Misunderstood because he keeps passing to nobody. That is level toots.

Song this year and Mikel are about even defensively. Song however is much better offensively than Mikel. Mikel is a just like Makalele, very good at breaking up plays in the midfield but lacking any significant offensive talent. Most of his passes are square. Shows your lack of understanding of the game.  He takes up good supporting positions and keeps the ball well, both of which Song does just as well.
Fella ah know you and your pardna like to have each other's back but stay out of this if you coming with your asinine responses.

The problem with most of allyuh fellas is you don't know how to have a healthy debate. So far I have given reasons for my conclusion that Song is better than Mikel. Neither you or your pardna have given any reasons that you think the opposite. All you guys who are so "learned" in the game come back with is just a bunch of simpleton retorts. If you have a respose to the debate at hand then let me know.

Allyuh fellas jokey :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well sorry if you want to take on Mango by yuhself. Didn't know somethings are restricted.

Saying that OJM only pass sideways is the same thing the mad man in Spain say when they chase Makas out. Jokers. Find out why Marcos Senna and Spain was so successful at the Euros and then try talk.

That side ways pass is a killa pass.
No breds with knowledge of the game.

They ran Makalele out of Madrid because they underestimated how important it was to win the ball back was. In Spain the teams are generally good at keeping possession. Makalele was important in disrupting the possession of the other team. He was not important for his sideways pass.

Trust me Mikel is not on Chelsea's team because of his passing.

;D...ah go take dat. Chelsea eh want no trophies this season....I am convinced!

For the men that want to cry dong JOM....the boy does not play as conventional a game as Chelsea does.  He is a very  solid young player that has a vision that his teammates don't alwas share.  You can see it in the types of passing ability he has and sometimes he makes plays that, on the surface, may look boneheaded, but when you really understand the man's play, its because he doesn't play the "linear" type of football that some of his Chelsea teammates (and most people born, bred and brainwashed solely on english football) can appreciate, add to the fact that Chelsea really have him playing a role that doesn't quite bring out the best of his ability. John Obi Mikel would eat song for lunch and use him for a toothpick.  It is no coincidence that he was voted the second-best player after Messi, in the 2005 U-20 WC and he was really the best player on the field in the final. Song is not in his league.
That is a laughable pack of shit you write there. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

what a finish by Pienaar!!
Almunia went down too quickly. Make him go aound you.

Nah, at all... Almunia going down too quickly would have been him diving at Pienaar's feet.

He actually held his ground, and in that situation the keeper will be looking for the player to shoot to the right or left of him, or take it around him so he must stay low. The chip would be the very last thing the goalkeeper would expect which is why he couldn't react.

i find all credit hadda go to Pienaar for that one.
I agree that it was a great finish by Pienaar, however, the chip was on because he was far enough from Almunia. In a situation like that I believe the keeper should react rather than guess.

cant believe allyuh men really rating Song..

he is a poor man's Obi Mikel.
Obi Mikel can't hold a candle to Alex Song this season!!!

Why, because Song gettin' more playing time on a team of schoolboys "this season"?  Look, learn the difference between form and class eh!
Stop just running your mouth nah!!!

Obi Mikel is not as good as song this season. When Essien is available Obi eh sure to get a run. I also wouldn't boast about a Nigerian team that barely make it to SA.

You obviously don't know the difference between form and class so i'll explain.

The problem with most Chelsea fans is that you are actually fans of the way Arsenal plays but you find the fans to be obnoxious hence your intense dislike for the team. That also explains why you all are always checking up on Arsenal. Study your own team. Arsenal, Man U and Liverpool fans don't run around checking up on each other or Chelsea. You guys referring to Wegner as a vouyer is like the pot calling the kettle black!!

You ever wonder why the Chelsea Forever thread is one third the length of the Arsenal thread? You guys probably post more on here than in your own thread. The fact is, allyuh had a good run in the past few years but allyuh eh really do anything to be considered amongst the great English teams yet. Besides winning Champions League, we have!!! In the History of English football the pecking order of greatness is Liverpool/Man U, followed by The Arsenal. Allyuh far from the conversation.

When allyuh win a few more English championships or CL come back and we will talk. Until then, allyuh eh no Big Side. In the grand scheme of things this is a Blip in the history of Chelsea, and that bubble will burst too. The same is true for Arsenal in the opposite way, the run of no silverware is a bubble that will soon burst also!!!

Now focus on your team and we will focus on ours Vouyers!!!  :beermug: :beermug: :beermug:

I thought yuh woulda come back wit sumting at least a little witty, smart and/or funny.  All this emotional ranting would only spoil yuh Christmas.   Yuh talk so much shit though that everything you wrote is self-decaying without me having to stick myself in it any further......I would wait still to hear you explain the class and form ting, since is only a pack ah ass yuh talk so far but I eh have all dat time on meh hands.......
but hear dis......Essien is only one of the top 10 footballers in the world, so, for JOM to be squeezed out of a starting spot by him is no shame.  What is embarrassing for you to know after yuh talk all dat pack ah ass is that, if JOM were playing fuh allyuh shit-side-with-a-history, Song would be on de bench gettin' he little sweat in Carling Cup Competition.  Now THAT is the difference between class and form.
