I was homless, physically abused as a child, i came from a rough neighborhood. even growing as a teen ager i was pushed aside by middle class folks who thought they were better than me. i remember going to the race track with my older brother who was a groom to help him with his horses on race day. i saw all the rich white ppl, the serians and french creoles in owners & trainers living it up.they were mean and condisending to us the workers who did their dirty work and they treat us with scorn, we could'nt even go at the door for a brief second even if we needed the trainer, we had to wait out side like a couple of dogs who could'nt go into the house, and hoped that he showed up by chance.
