My sentiments exact. We should hire Arena, Preki or any good american coach out there. For there discipline and work ethic, also their inovativeness when it comes to physical preparation and match preparation. Even a Mexican. Mexico already know how to qualify from this part of the world. Why you think they have Ericcson? It is to have more success against the European world when they face them at the world cup. Thats why we should bring in the american(preferable for language) or a competent mexican.

I WROTE ON AN EARLIER PAGE THAT CUBA IS NOT GOOD. I STUDIED THERE AND SAW THEM VERY OFTEN. IF WE HAD CARLOS TO REALLY HELP OUR ATTACK IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A REAL DEMOLITION JOB. CONGRATS TO T&T AND MI BWOY KEON (AKA SCHILLACHI)

Dont let them agency rob allyuh. Check copa for your ticket. Travel cards visas are sold at the check in counter 4 $5US. In Cuba there is no professional sports so the ticket prices are 2 or 3 pesos. That is less than $1TT. There are places in havana to Stay that cost $30us and cheaper.

There is some mad people refreeing games in 2bago. Reaal horrible. Need training from qualified people cause those who training them r clesrly not. Theorically, practically and psycologically they need training. Especially in the aspect of sports psycology and psycology of sports arbitrating. It appears that the refrees leave there homes angry and with vendettas against players and it is affecting there performances and the efficient fulfillment of there jobs.

Dont worry my fellow fans. I have all the confidence that we will beat Cuba. If you all think we are playing badly you should have seen Cuba against Antigua a total mess I was there. Studied there 4 the past 5 years now graduated. But they may step up so we cant take anything for granted. I think we are much better technically and tactically. Maybe they can match us physically but we are generally better than they are. Carlos should have a field day on the right cause the left back i saw is huge but very clumsy, not footballistic. Dont worry bout ticket prices in Cuba. Its just about 2 or 3 pesos to see a game. If you believe dont doubt lived there for 5 years. Yes the game is at the estadio pedro marrero in Havana. A very dilapidated stadium with concrete to sit on and the cubans spitting everywhere. On the upside a lot of nice friendly girls.

We jus making analisis because is our team. We are nowhere on the map where football is concerned we would like to be but we are not. Anton says that they let the ball do the work but that was jus the small picture, the bigger detail was the constant movement and interchanging of positions by the ghananians that left us baffled. Yes I am an arsenal fan because I love fast and imaginative football. All we from t&t like is to see a man dribble but when will we have a team that has the fitness and intelligence to play with the necesary movement and tactical skill to become world beaters and not home alone stars. But the problem is limitations of our so called local coaches. The bottom line is that they need capacitation and training, but as I said before they are mostly all very academically dunce so they would not understand the rudiments and principles of modern day coaching nor the anatomical aspect which all successful modern coaches have. Hudson charles out there he dont know he head from he foot cyar pass no proper exam but he dey. Dog eat we supper.Good luck Anton you are our only local hope but dey will fire for a foriegner by time world cup.Don't get ant horrors is the only way we will qualify.

We should all respect refs both players and spectators but here in T&T we need some sort of evaluation for our refs. ESPECIALLY IN TOBAGO THEY ARE AWFUL, WITHOUT INTELLIGENCE, WOEFULLY INCOMPETENT. And they think they are world class.

I am happy that our boys are there trying a thing. But I hope that our so called coaches (without qualification or intelligence) see the level that the outside world reach the kind of movement and tactical awareness that is at an u-17 level. We played with the normal boring snail paced style that we are accustomed  to, absolutely no movement or interchanging of positions to create confusion in the minds of the opposition. We were seriously outclassed and will continue to be. I love my country but i am honest. To bad these boys going to come back here and everyone will let them feel like they real good and reach the pinacle instead of encouraging them to train harder become students of the game and not only players because there is where training begins in those developed countries. But the majority our coaches that we have were never good students so they will not be good coaches or teachers because a good coach must be able to impart knowlege. Those ex players that think they are automatic coaches are very mistaken. Anton is about the best locally we have but needs more tactical sharpening. The rest, their heads are so hard they do not inspire confidence.

I see them training and i think that they are doing like the qualification is a walk in the park, maybe against the other caribbean teams but T& T should look further down the road to the bigger opponents in central and north america. The training is of a very low and unprofessional standard, very unimaginative and if they continue like that we have no Bejing to see.

Football / Tobago United Just Win
« on: June 23, 2007, 04:35:30 PM »
First win in four years, Tobago Utd beat Petrotrin.
By: Opuku Ware (ttproleague).

Shock waves ran through the sister isle as Tobago United scored an historic first league win for 2007 in the TT Pro League on Saturday evening at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Tobago.
The Peter Granville and Kenny Thomas coached Tobago United outfit scored a well-deserved 2-0 win over the South based United Petrotrin, which also represented their first league win in four years of professional league football.
In the competition five years now, Tobago United's last league win came in their first season in 2003 when they had a total of four league victories in 36 matches.
Saturday's game was a re-match, following a 1-1 draw that was protested by Petrotrin. The Pro League ordered a replay because it was deemed the referee made an error regarding the laws of the game.
This was the first game for both teams after a month-long break in League action because of the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament. During the break, the Tobago based team stepped up their training and employed the services of a trainer from the Defence Force to improve their physical fitness, while coach Granville instituted a firm regimen of discipline for the players.
These factors were quite evident in the team's play, as they displayed more energy and concentrated for longer periods.
As early as the ninth minute, the combination of Collie Hercules and Kayode Legall got moving as Hercules fed Legall a through pass inside the Petrotrin penalty area and Legall slammed a fierce right foot shot past Tristan Charles in the Petrotrin goal.
The South based Pro Team refused to lie down and mounted a number of attacks on the Tobago United goal, but they were thwarted by solid defence from Jamal Jack, Kevin Adams, George Dublin and the flying goalkeeper Andre Durant.
Tobago-born national player Keon Daniel and Devon Drayton were orchestrating numerous plays for Petrotrin. But their forwards failed to convert the chances created.
Tobago United went in with a 1-0 advantage at the end of the first half. Both teams sought the ascendancy during the second period, but Petrotrin suffered dearly when playmaker Devon Drayton was red carded mid-way into the second half.
Tobago United took advantage of the 10-man Petrotrin team by spreading their play across the field. They also added fresh legs by replacing Handel Manswell with Uriah Palmer and Tichord Joseph for Pierre Joseph.
The Tobago team mounted a series of attacks and their persistence paid off when Garvin McKenna blasted home a right foot shot after good work by Legall and Hercules.
When referee Lester Alleyne finally blew his whistle to signal the end of the game, the Tobago United players were given a standing ovation by their many supporters, having registered their first victory of the season.
Meanwhile, United Petrotrin Head Coach Brian Williams was circumspect after his team suffered a stunning 0-2 defeat to the Pro League table-proppers Tobago United last Saturday at the Dwight Yorke Stadium.
The former National defender told ttproleague.com that he was aware that the Tobago team was playing an improved brand of football and it was only a matter of time before they got good results.
“I did not want us to be the team which would lose to them, but this is a ball game and those things happen,” Williams said, “It was a hard fought game and Tobago United must be given credit for their win.” The dreadlocks coach indicated that his Team did not convert their chances but he said “We will have to lift our heads up and face the future games with confidence.”
Williams noted that a win would have moved the South Team to second place in the standings and he was disappointed at throwing away that opportunity.
Tobago United assistant coach Kenny Thomas took the win in stride. He said, “We really worked hard during the one month break and we got the result to show.”
He showered praise on Army physical instructor Marvin Brassey for the work he did with the team. “We are improving and we will seek to improve further,” Coach Kenny added.
Head Coach Peter Granville made it clear however, the journey has only just begun, “Now is not the time for us to forget our mission which is to build a team which could make Tobago proud and make a positive contribution to National football.”
Both Granville and Thomas felt that the Team’s first win in the competition will serve as an inspiration to the players to work even harder.”

Keon Daniel should be on this team if I am not mistaken he is 19 and will turn 20 next year.None or these players are in his class.Where is Javon Morton and Jerome Williams. That team picked there is not good enough.Just the same as I think about the under16.They are not playing nothing. And will not qualify for the cup with that half pick duck preparation.Cuba got a raw deal because its two caribean teams they are to pick and the best two besides Jamaica is Cuba and Haiti. If it was better organized its just what we would have seen.I saw the indian guy against Cuba both out there and here and he is not ready for international foot ball.

I am happy for the youngsters that they are going to get an education. Its right to say that we pro league will miss two talents and we will continue to lose more players to the american system.I believe that the gov't should try to help our talented  footballers with academics ability with some kind of scholarship right here to get their degree here and play football.

I know Tobago footballers and this team he have in the PFL only taking lick left, right, and center under the name Tobago is a shame.Ah mean even if it was truly the best of Tobago dey might not have won but it definitely would not have have been so shameful. We all know that when a Tobago team is in Trinidad they represent with some form of pride. It is not even a real Tobago team. Why he dont change the name.
