Emotions are high after that USA loss, kev. Dwight's presence would probably have been a big help.

No excuse.

Theres no excuse for racist or xenophobic comments in any form.

Ah, I go away for a weeks vacation and its comedy hour on the forum.

I won't say too much about this as Filho and Kev have basically said what i wanted to say.

Yorke retired from international football. He said so, and its already been established that Sunderland had an agreement with the TTFF with regards to not letting Yorke play against the USA. Sunderland are just honoring that agreement. Warner wants to have his cake and eat it and the abuse he has received form Keane is justified in my opinion. Warner wrote a scathing letter, and rather than send it privately he put it in the public domain for everyone to see. Basically Warner has tried to treat Sunderland in the same manner that he treats his own people, by making agreements and breaking them.

Keane is not an ass, he's made a stand. A justifiable one. Just because Warner is surrounded by a bunch of 'yes' men at the TTFF doesn't mean that he should expect foreign coaches to act in the same manner.

I think the Warner fraternity on here are more irked at the fact that Keane has basically stood up to Warner and told him to go f**k himself. At least Keane doesn't BLACKLIST his players or refuse to pay them monies owed.

Think about that.

Quote
I'd like to see him respond the same way to Trappatoni or Capello should they come calling.

In the same way that Sir Alex Ferguson and Rafa Benitez have recently?

:rotfl:

Quote
The Man is the Vice President of FIFA and you bold enough to go public with a statement and call him ah “clown”. That insult was not only to JW but also our county

So, because Warner is Trinidadian any criticism he receives because of his actions is blasphemy against this country? Warner wrote the letter under the banner if FIFA not the TTFF. Get over yourself.

We gets no respect in the football world.

Hardly surprising, judging from the comments on this thread.

It was inevitable that he would sign.

Transfers between United and Spurs have never been straightforward.

Say hello to the new United number 9 bitches!
SSN showing him shaking hands wid Sir Alex, but Spurs didnt accept no bids yet....madness. If dis deal dont go through Man U in real trouble wid d FA...flagrant disregard of all dem "tapping up" rules  :rotfl:

You don't even know if thats the case yet.

Noone from Spurs has actually gone on record saying that Berbatov did not have permission to talk to United. The quote came from a source. With all the hoopla that Levy and ENIC have been making this past month, you'd think that they would be the first to go national and say that United were disregarding the rules. Instead we have a 'Spurs are said to be upset'. Noone has stated  who said what from their end.

Quote
but Spurs didnt accept no bids yet

Ah, but they did. The 36 million from Man City. Thats already been confirmed...but I'll get to that in a minute...

SkySports said a short while ago that the fee will be 30m. So are Spurs accepting a bid from a team whom they never gave permission to talk to?

Think about it. Why would United go and pick up Berbatov at the airport in full view of the media and then take him for a medical where reporters were waiting outside to take pictures. Surely if United had some clandestine agenda, everything would have been done on the quiet no?

Don't be surprised if City's 36 million pound bid was put in place to scare United into paying the 5 million extra that Spurs wanted.

The stats never came from Google. You ask for facts and I give them to you and now that you've been shown up for the noob that you are, you want to sarcastically dismiss it all.

Or maybe you're not used to dealing with people who present you with facts rather than opinions.

You've practically had your argument blasted out if the water by cold hard facts and now you want to say that you want to dismiss the quality of opposition that Cole scored against?

In any case, I'll provide you with answers to the following...

Quote
Notwithstanding the fact that he conveniently omits the less readily available and less empirical stats that would be more relevant to this argument.

Wow. I thought I just did. I proved that that what you said about Cole mostly benefiting from Yorke being in the team to be nothing more than biased hyperbole. So what relevant stats did you actually want? And what are these less readily available stats that you speak of? Do tell. Or should I not bother posting stats since that sort of thing is for Google lovers? Nevermind, we'll get to that later...

Not that it matters since the original discussion was about who supplied more goals to whom, and it turned out to be Cole...You can change as many variables as you like, you were proven wrong initially and rather than accept it you want to change things around to suit yourself...digging a deeper hole for yourself.

Quote
How many misses to conversions..

You're really clutching at straws now, you've already been proved wrong...give it a rest. If you can't find those stats then what are the chances of me finding them?

Fact:

"Cole profited more from Yorke than Yorke did from Cole"

Out of the 29 goals Yorke scored, 12 were provided by Cole. Of the 24 goals that Cole scored, only 10 were provided by Yorke.

Of the 29 goals Yorke Scored 24 were provided by both Beckham and Cole...

Now you want chances to goals ratios...

I mean, seriously...

Its desperation time in the house of Armadillo. Theres a stat for that sort of thing? If so, throw me an example...

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

So now you want me to watch every single game he played in 1998/99 and then report back to you on the forum with my thoughts?

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

This beggars belief, since you dismiss Cole as being not very good, you want me to watch every game he played in the 1998/99 season? You say he isn't that good, which means you've seen him play already. How can you offer an opinion on a layer if you haven't seen him play? Strange. You just don't know what you're talking about do you?

Basically, I think you're finding it hard to stomach that your opinions on this issue carry no weight and that THE FACTS have basically proven that you were wrong to suggest that Andy Cole was nothing more than a 'goat' during the Treble season. I keep stating over and over again that it was a team effort and everyone did their part in one way or another, but you didn't want to hear it and kept fighting it down. False pride at its best. Yorke scored 29 goals, and well done to him...but the player you dismiss as a 'goat' supplied 12 of those goals to him with another 12 coming from Beckhams right boot. In short, he relied on two players to provide the ammunition for him. Hardly the one man crusade you make the 1998/99 season out to be...

Here endeth the lesson.

We can do this for the 1999/2000 season tomorrow if you like?

Btw, you won't find those stats on Google. Its called the Manchester United Yearbook 1998/99 which was purchased from the United Megastore...Y'know, because facts come in handy when you need to have a debate...

Are you going to address the fact that between Yorke and Cole, Cole had more assists?

I didn't think so.

Heres another stat for you all.

In the following season (1999/2000):

Yorke 23 goals
Cole 22 goals

Between the two of them Cole still came out trumps, supplying assists for four of Yorke's goals during that campaign as opposed to the two assists that Yorke is credited with...

In 1999 and 2000, the man who had been credited with the most assists was David Beckham.

As for your reference re: him being marked out of the CL final, lets not forget the champions league is not just one game.. What about his performances against Barcelona and Juventus to get them there in the first place?!

Oh yeah, largely anonymous in the first leg against Juve...United had to rely on Giggs getting an injury time equaliser to keep them in it. Nowhere to be seen in the second leg until Keane pulled United back into them into the game, a game which was largely down to Keane marshaling Zidane and Davids on his own and putting in a truly heroic performance, despite the fact that he knew that he would miss the final.

Like I have iterated before, it wasn't all down to Yorke as you would all have us believe. You could rattle off five other players who made just as big a contribution as he did.

Real never put a Ronaldo shirt up for sale on their website.

No, but they consistently claimed that they had personally agreed a deal with Ronaldo when in fact, they hadn't...

Chelsea have basically done the same thing, claimed to have signed a player that they haven't.

but allyuh at least have to see the difference here...

A big club prises Real Madrid's best players away from them and makes them struggle to keep hold.

A feeder club struggles to keep their best players from being prised away by Real Madrid.

That should bring them down to Earth.
