Disclaimer - I just bought Rafael Van de Fart, so everyone should sell him, because if past history is a predictor of the future he will now surely turn into a shit snake or get injured.

2
Sign and Trade. I am a Man Utd. fan but most likely Rooney won't be a Red Devil within the next two years.

They had to sign him to a longer term contract to get the value in a trade for him. Ronaldo was more marketable than Wayne and I am sure he generated much more off field revenue, but he was dealt in the same speed.

Business is business, but with that said if Rooney actually left without the Glazers seemingly trying to appease him, they would have been under some serious pressure from the Red Knights buy out group.

The management of Man Utd. probably told him what he wanted to hear for now, to get him to sign, but when this settles and the right bid comes in for Rooney he will be sold.

Marcus,

If you played your wildcard, all transfer mades pre and post wildcard during the same game week will be free.

So to answer your question: Tevez out --> Bent In is now free!

Nice man... you read that in the rules? or you using Ad libitum?

Touches why yuh doh hull yuh tail lol? how things boi, yuh letting wifey beat yuh again this year I see.

Dinho yea boi, Stockdale too, steups Jääskeläinen red card, have no keeper either lol...

4
Question;

If you made 2 transfers already for next game week, so one transfer was free and one transfer cost 4 points...but decided to play wildcard after the transfers were made. Do past and future transfers for week become free?

Ex.
On Monday transaction
Rooney out --> Drogba In (free)
Tevez out --> Bent In ( cost 4 points)

On Wednesday Wild Card Played
Numerous transaction are made all free

But is it retro active to the Tevez for Bent trade?

The above trades are fictional

Ok these programmers or people who decide player value getting me vex. In the past you could back into the criteria and figure out what player was going to rise in value at end of game week, but is like they using a finger in the ear method this year. steups

How does paulo ferreria drop in value, when he only had 4000 sells, yea he had a down week and he is not a fulll time starter but at 5.5 he isn't overpriced.

figueroa from wigan at 4.5 had 14000 sells no price change, yet his teammate alcaraz had 1300 sells and he drops in price WTF! Both are starters valued at 4.5.

There are countless other examples, that just doh make sense. I doh mind man dropping in value, but yuh have to have it same way across the board. Them men cah be choosing random men just so.

Ok that off my chest lol

no critical thinking by the poster

explain in stead of casting judgement, lets hear why no critical thinking was involved? some people like to talk but have no argument to back up the insult or judgement.

Here was the emphasis to your statement I quote "If Uruguay with a population of 3 million make the semi, TT can do the bloody same thing." End Quote Actually the population is 3.5mm but thats beside's the point.

You made a statement which puts focus on population size and ability to achieve success in world football. You further narrowed that broad sweeping statement by looking at Uruguay and Trinidad & Tobago on a country by country comparsion. Now I can only judge you on what you say and imply thru your statement.

You completely ignored
1) Uruguay is still actually 2.7x larger
2) A greater percentage of Uruguay's population plays Football as #1 uncontested sport
3) Their Football Infrastructure is greater
4) Their Local Leagues quality of competition is better
5) Coaching and Technical staff is better
6) Fan support is greater on a domestic level
7) Local Leagues generate greater revenue which allows for more investment into the game
7) Player salaries are higher therefore players can focus on football as a fulltime career
8) Geographical advantage, players are easily mobile and play/develop in other leagues in South America
9) At all levels (U17, U23 etc) of regional football they are exposed to the highest level of competition

I cant guess what you are thinking, I can only judge you on what you actually write!

You also said
"I have been saying that for donkey years, the foreign based and locals need to believe with the right management, coaching and self belief, TT can reach very far in the world cup. Please don't say we don't have the talent because thats bull."

Yes it is a given that with better management, coaching and mental strength that we will be better, that is not rocket science. Rocket Science is figuring out how to finance and implement programs that will get us there. Rocket Science is figuring out how to increase the fan support of our local leagues so that we can generate greater revenue to reinvest into infrastructure, coaching and player salaries. It goes without saying that it is not a simple task, so when you boil it down to population size and make a broad sweeping statement without much else material fact, what am I to assume? If population was the be all the end all, then China, Russia, and USA should be all leading the the charge, and without question these countries have better athletes than Trinidad and Tobago has ever had. I think other posters have also made valuable points countering your statement as well. I hope you receive this with an opened mind.

The integrity of International Football is not questionable anymore, it is now clearly evident that football is corrupt.

Whats more disheartening, is that it is downright ridiculous the lack of recourse one has too incompetent calls on the field. Yet still I continue to watch! Slowly but surely I will start looking at Football like I do Wrestling and Basketball... Entertainment not Sport!

FIFA spokesman Nicolas Maingot said Monday that replaying the incident was "a clear mistake."

FIFA the real MISTAKE was the decision on the field not the replay, address the incompetent decision on the field not the replay. We need more replays not less. WTF!

FIFA executive is corrupt, whats to stop that corruption from filtering down onto the field. Trust me it does. Why bring in instant replay when FIFA will lose some measure of control of results. i.e. Look at FRANCE vs IRELAND ...Yet still we watch.

Understand what I am trying to say, when you and I play football or basketball yes it is a sport, but you only need to look at the NBA playoffs and look at how the Refs make calls and no calls. The Refs control the result, they change momentum. Yes the athletes are out their playing their hearts out, but the Refs are the ones that control the game.

I have seen it so many times, you sit at home wondering WTF just happened, how did he miss that! How did the Ref call that foul there was no contact! etc. Yes basketball is a sport, but the NBA is fixed, small calls during a game changes alot. Bad calls puts key players in foul trouble, it put guys on the free throw line etc. FIFA is the same thing, a foul outside the penalty box, a yellow card to a defender who is man marking etc. Refs have an agenda and when you have an agenda it is easy to find an infringement or to overlook an infringement. You understand what I am saying.

FIFA CORRUPTION at the top and on the field. You will see what I mean.

Probably not every game is fixed, but football in general is rigged. If it is corrupt at the highest level, what stops it from being corrupt on the field... I.E. France vs Ireland. You see it all time, with questionable calls that leave you scratching your head.

I eh see wha some of allyuh hurting allyuh head so for... it too freaking late anyhow for them fellas to make ah difference, WCQ 2010 over! Start thinking bout 2014.

Them 2 players have one more chance, both go be 32yrs in the 2013 the year leading up to World Cup 2014. We go have plenty of time to judge and see dem fellas character between now and then. But for now stressin over it eh really go make much difference. True them boy shoulda been here from the start, but seriously Zamora eh born here, he eh grow up here, he eh went to school here, he eh grow up gettin he heart break in 1989... so doh expect de man to have any strong emotions when it come to T&T, and to be honest yuh cah hold it against him. The man is an English Man. Plus with all de shit that was going on between the players and Jack/TTFA who can really blame dem men for saying fire bun that.

« on: June 16, 2009, 07:34:54 AM »
IF KJ was an Englishman:

He is good enough to get a random call up for a lower level friendly
He is good enough to be at the bottom of a very long list
He is good enough to have a good game once in awhile
But he is NOT good enough to be consistent on the international level in Europe
Currently he is NOT good enough to be a regular fixture in any England line-up

If he continues to work, hopefully someday he will be that good that we wont even have to ask this question.

And for those of you saying this is a NEGATIVE THREAD, you are totally wrong. We don't want our athletes to be content with playing at a tier 2 skill level. Any competitor will take these comments and use it as motivation, if they stressing and folding under pressure well that speaks for itself. When ah man sick doh feed him sugar, yuh need to give him some bitter Buckleys. Is allyuh same men that does be telling these buss girls they lookin sweet.

IF KJ was an Englishman:

He would be on the long list of players that are always mentioned with the squad.

He would get a random call up for a lower level friendly and then be judged on his performance at training camp and match day, but AT PRESENT I don't think he will ever be a regular fixture in any England line-up.

He has miles to go before he is good enough to meet the expectations of the England faithful.

He is good enough to be considered
He is good enough to get a call up
He is good enough to have a good game
But he is not good enough to be consistent on the international level in Europe.
Currently he is not good enough to be a regular fixture in the England line-up

He has room to improve and hopefully he continues to work and someday he will be that good that we wont even have to ask this question.

The fact of the matter is Maturana was shite and seemed like he really didnt care. So I glad he gone, at least now it have someone there who know the talent level of the players and will make the right team selection moves.

But to be honest I think latas has to play, we need someone with confidence who can slow up play in the midfield and control the game with the ball at his feet. We give away to many errant passes and which keeps our defense under pressure right thru.

“I would have preferred some more games because you want to play every game. I think I’ve kept myself extremely fit so hopefully my experience and the bit of playing time will take me through it,” Yorke added.

I acutally think is a good thing Yorke has not played much in Premier League this year, at his age freshness is vital.
I just hope he match fit or close to.

andre yuh could start pm-ing the men in here with the code for starters..

The Andre Samuel League 2008 Honour List

CHAMPION - JDB, Tu Mama

SECOND - Omar, Sporting Pelau FC

THIRD - Kasim Geroge (de antiguan), King Ballers

HONOURABLE MENTION - Manuvelona (2 cents), Maniacs (Cowen), Freakazoid exp (ayaj george), Soca Warriors (andre samuel), real madness (VM), Flamengo (marcus) and FC Juma - Rest of Top 10.  These players all placed in the top 20 in Trinidad and Tobago.

BIGGEST MOVER - This has to go to Omar, one of the bravest moves i ever see was the Gallas Captain move.  Omar came from nowhere and reach up with the big boys after a poor start.

BIGGEST POP DOWN - $#0++@ (or shotta for short) - he was in the top 15-20 in the first half of the season giving everybody talk and then ended up in 69th place....lol.

BIGGEST MOVER/POP DOWN - This award is for the person who did a combination of both awards. This award goes to Touches.  He has a poor start and was on the second page, made some moves and reach in the top 10-15 and then pop down to 39th.  Jub-Jub does melt in de heat, lol.

BIGGEST DISAPOINTMENT - Mr Berris!! After a big season in 2007 in the ASL, i expected big things from this player, but he disappointed greatly.

MOST CONSISTENT - Soca Warriors (andre samuel  ;D) and Tu Mama (JDB).  Ah know some ah allyuh does call meh side a panty man side, but myself and Juma are the two players who stayed near the top for the majority of the season.

BIGGEST MOUTHMAN - Omar........geez and ages, it ent have ah man ah wanted tuh beat more with all he talk.  He expose ah man side on the page, he calling out men, and playing Mourinho by explaining what he do every week.....lol............ah love it!!

LEAST TRANSFERS - FC Gold Street.  This player only made 17 transfers for the whole season and still finished in a commendable 12th place.

MOST TRASNFERS - AC Cerlanji (Cern Hector.....a relation to Cheyanne or Gary??).  This player had a whopping 98 transfers and finished in 58th place.

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED AND FEEL FREE TO ADD/SUGGEST ANY MORE CATEGORIES/AWARD WINNERS THAT U THINK SHOULD BE THERE.

THANKS FOR MAKING THIS LEAGUE THE 274th BEST LEAGUE OUT OF OVER 113,000 IN THE WORLD!!

Quality player with suberb finishing.
He desparately needs a season void of injury to show his goods.

Combination of Torres and Keane looks good on paper, hope it turns out well for Keane, always liked him.

Wish Jan all the best!!! close family friend, coached me when I was young.

He is a very good coach, who got the best out of underdog teams. Recently known for his resurrection of the Naps squad in the late 90s and their continued success (steups by the way). He also speaks his mind, wish he had gotten a chance to coach this level of football or higher sooner or even a national junior team or somethin... this man doh deal with BS at all.

congrats boss! from de Carvalho family!

This guy is the zen master when it comes to taking ordinary teams and making them competitive on the world stage. He did it with South Korea, Australia and now Russia. He has  coaching down to a science. Jack Warner should pull some strings to get this guy to be the coach of Trinidad as soon as his contract end with Russia in 2010.  I am just thinking about the future.

Before this game over i just want to give our Coaches some credit for having the guts to to leave Stern/Scotland on the bench,as a Coach i like to see when Coaches take charge and responsibilities into their own hand, when all is said and done they are the ones getting fired,so far it's working because what Stern/Scotty did in a whole game these guys already did in half the game, what going on in this game is not different from the last game and it's basically who the Coach thinks can get the job done,we have to start forgetting names and put guys who will perform for us when they put on that shirt.

credit too the coaches, yuh mad or what...?
it have no silver lining even if we pull this off today..
even if we win and go thru, get rid of these coaches.

« on: June 21, 2008, 12:38:06 PM »

I am already tired of this news. I have accounted for Ronaldo's departure. I am sure Fergie is already in front of the game with auxillary options.

To lose a player of CR's ability is a major loss for any team in the world. I think we should try to keep him but it has gotten to the point where it maybe pass that healing point "if the media reports are correct". The bridge is close to being fully burnt down.

Wish Ronaldo the best, I just hope we are well compensated, I would rather Sergio Ramos, than the other names being mentioned. Don't think Robinho will suit the English game and the dutch man is riding a high wave, but I rather push for $$ or ($$ and Ramos).

CR however is an exceptional talent and will do well where ever he goes... But some how Fergie gets the best out of his players.
