Football / Heinze might be on his way out at Man Utd.
« on: July 16, 2007, 01:38:20 PM »
:praying: I hope this is true, I hope he gets his wish and moves on to another club!

Heinze keen to make Man Utd exit

Heinze joined Manchester United from Paris St Germain in 2004
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says defender Gabriel Heinze wants to leave Old Trafford.
The 29-year-old has been playing in the Copa America for Argentina and he has been linked with moves to Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle and Juventus.

Ferguson said: "Gaby's agent has advised us that he wants to move on.

"I am not too sure about that and we do not have a concrete offer but there is momentum regarding his next move, even if nothing is close right now."

Liverpool have been linked with Heinze for some time and Reds boss Rafael Benitez is believed to have met the £6.8m asking price.

However, Ferguson is not thought to be keen on the former Paris St Germain star joining one of their Premier League rivals.

Heinze will take an extended holiday after Argentina's 3-0 defeat by Brazil in Sunday's Copa America final in Venezuela.

He joined United from Paris St Germain for £6.9m in 2004.

Football / Chants for the World Cup
« on: May 30, 2006, 08:04:01 AM »
Well, sorry to say through my own decision I will not be in Germany.... Figured alot of my friends were not going and the experience would not be the same without them.... I may live to regret this decision! Also Germany is all to fimilar to me since I work for a German Company.... but thats just a justification in my mind for a potentially facked up decision on my part... haha

But back to what I am trying to say... alot of Nations/Clubs have their own chants, player calls, so on and so forth....

Arsenal have de old "Good old Arsenal"
Real Madrid have their "¡Hala Madrid!, ¡Hala Madrid!"
Spain have their traditional "O-lay O layo layo lay" which many have adopted
England has many.... "The great escape" and "No Surrender" just to name two
Portugal has one my favs "Allez!! allez!! allez!! Força Portugal allez!! allez!!"
Brasil have thier drums and half naked samba women, so who needs a chant..... Although they do have one for Robinho
And many more!

So my question is what are we going to do? Are we coming original?
Whats going to be our MO.... I like steelpan, but you need a large group for pan to sound good in a crowd.... Tassa is a possibility, that has been the trademark at intercol! Someone should organise supporter meetings and get some chants together... Wish you guys and gals all de breast (best) in Germany.... Have a great time!

I am pretty sure this thread existed before, but I am Interested in hearing any creative chants or ideas you guys have!

I was just curious as to how the lowest ranked teams have faired in the world cup, here is what I have found.
The data is encouraging, there are always upsets and surprises hopefully we can create the magic and be the cinderella team this time around.[/size]

Football / Trinidad trading at 1000/1.... you buying or selling?
« on: May 16, 2006, 05:19:11 PM »
today I took

England at 13/1
Portugal at 25/1
Sweden at 33/1
Czech Rep at 33/1
Mexcio at 50/1

In my mind the above odds were trading cheap

I sold

Argentina at 7/1
France at 10/1
Holland at 11/1
Spain at 12/1

I am also tempted to buy Germany at 9/2 and sell Italy at 8/1
Trinidad market was 1000/1
Although I want Brasil to win it all and I think they will, at 11/4 odds I didn't see an opportunity for gains. My whole strategy revolves around being able to flip my risk.

Anybody know if one of them players have ah online diary or blog?

It is very common these days for a player to be selected, often a reserve, to write a little sentence or two everynight to let the fans feel like dey have a personal link with de team....

Anybody out there have the connect to hook that up?

Football / Nahkid or Jack.... your choice
« on: October 26, 2005, 08:21:56 PM »
The lesser of two evils is whats being discussed?

Jack has gotten his fair share of criticism, but there is no doubting his allegiance to Trinidadian football.
There is not a living man, that has done more for trinidadian football off the pitch than Jack.
Year after year, he is there, not just when we are close to qualifying, he is there throughout.

Yes, he may use his platform for personal profit... Period!
However, I believe he would never do that ahead of T&T football.
It would have been so easy for him to forget Trinidad and our football, climb on top of his high horse and focus on his duties with FIFA. But no he has a dream... and I for one say thank you Jack.

Nahkid just by him being associated with Bahrain is unpatriotic, I cannot deny a man his right to make a living, but if I could I would deny him all rights reserved for citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. I would deny his entry onto our shores for perpetuity.

Yes it is true that Nahkid is one of our country's most decorated footballers, but there is correllation between his efforts on the field and his sense of nationalism. Its clear that while executing his god given abilities on the pitch he was being fueled solely by his physical attributes and not by what is required by a true champion.... who is fueled by his heart.

Thats my two cents, like it or not, thats your right!

SUBS - EVE, JONES, TEO, ROJAS, JACK

I would have liked to see jones get more sweat in the gold cup to gauge him..
I like Silvio on the dead ball situations...
And I think Teobold will be a good sub in the later half, coming on for a striker but playing midfield and oushing yorke into the forward position.
That my 2 cents.... I don't know what Leo is thinking because he still has stren starting, but I hope he is right... for the team sake...
I feel any coach don't matter what country should be kept under some pressure from the media or fans as the case maybe.... keeps them honest....
