So lemme get this right, coache you believe you have to had played the game to be a good coach? So what about men like Mourinho and Furgie? And For the life of me I don't get why people talking about Beenie being a no show when it has been stated ad nauseum that the man position is director of football, not coach of the national team. He doesn't need to be at training sessions to do his job. As I see it his job is to help bring some sort of structure in place going forward.

FS you'll should contact Min of Tourism also with all that free UK press releases the tour getting.

Spoke to Tourism around 8 weeks ago, but they said they have no budget! Really disappointed with the response from Corporate T&T as well.

I now realise we should have organised to play Nikki Minaj instead!

The other will include only the salaries of Hart and Beenhakker and would allegedly be picked up by three unnamed sponsors—two local and one international organisation.
nah man, nah man, doh do we dat... who is dese sponsors?  :cursing:

Transparency please

EDIT: I hoping is because the deals have not been closed and inked yet

Why they have to say who the sponsors are?  Suppose that was a condition of the sponsorship?
My sentiments exactly. As long as they getting paid and is not via illegal means who cares?? When men wasn't getting paid nobody was asking who paying them now everybody want a commission of inquiry into all things TTFA.

Football / Re: Nick DeLeon declines T&T call-up.
« on: June 24, 2013, 08:58:41 AM »
Iny opinion he does not deserve a call up he has to earn the right to represent. He should be the one coming begging for an opportunity and willingly wanting to represent. We should not be slaves to opportunistic players with roots who as a last resort bouncing on to seek self glory. We have too many locals fighting for a livelihood and willingly complying to serve when called upon. Help these players get an opportunity. Players line skein Daniels has shown an ingratitude that no matter of urgency should have them wear the national course. Players with roots who have been declining invitations during our qualifying needs should not jut be able to waltz into the team on a big stage in my opinion.
I agree that any player should be called up based on merit but this "players with roots" talk is real rubbish, especially if you referring to players like Keon Daniel. Keon is a special case but just because a player gets a contract abroad some posters on here talk as if they automatically lose their passport. The fact is, our best players get scouted and sign for foreign teams, the ones who aren't there yet or haven't been so fortunate, still play for the Pro League. The reason foreign players get preferential treatment is because regardless of if they playing division 2 in England or MLS, they are in far more professional settings, and far more challenging leagues.

Members ..I openly apologize to all of you. I would like to say that I was unaware of the racist remarks I made however I have offended people and for that I am sorry.
Trinidad is a place of many races and racism in Trinidad is not a problem anymore like back in the old days. We are all one people with love in our hearts for all people. We used to have problems with classism back in the old days but here again we have grown into one class with one love.
May God Bless our Nation..Together we aspire..together we achieve.

Sarcasm much?  ::)

As usual the TTFF/TTFA expects wine from water in the last minute. Why not let Shabbaz/Charles coach the tournament, assess the outcome then make a decision on whether to bring in anyone else, and if so, give them the freedom they need to choose and assess players independently

Football / Re: Thread for the T&T vs Estonia Game (7-Jun-13).
« on: June 07, 2013, 03:43:00 PM »
Maybe i saw a different game because today i saw a few positives from the boys. they made attempts to pass the ball out of the back and the midfield when on the ball tried to string passes. Where we were lacking truly was in the final third where we looked clueless as to how to break down the defense and whenever we didnt have that ball we looked poor. Things to build on but I wouldn't say they have gotten worse.

I don't get how people could find KJ wrong, especially if he said he not on that from before. We don't know what kinda relationship he has with his team mates. What if him and Whelan beefing a while now? Man look for his break windshield if you ask me.

Man say weeks yes.
I meant he missed April 1 by a couple weeks

fitz The title of this thread is misleading .

I was advise that you should bring the evidence to support you claim.
Last few pages I read were only about who black and who white/ who vote for PNM and who didn't. I was under the assumption this thread would be about Jack Warner's sons and their arrest or lack thereof.

Skeene wants to empower the teams but what is his 10-15 year plan for the league?

I beg to differ, fazeer made some good observations, but he was way to cynical.

the team lost to puru twice, and any realistic person would not be too surprised by this. the object here was not to win or draw, but to get match practice against strong opposition, and to assess players to see who fits in where and who lack where, i'd much rather lose and have a clear scope on our deficiencies so we could close the gaps and make adjustments, than to win and have a false sense of security.

i say instead of crying we should reach out to the coaches and share our observations, i don't think hutson charles is soooo inaccessible especially to someone like fazeer.

i remember when jack and camps was in charge, we saw a friendly now and again and the coaches were hands off, but since they flew the coop the two federation presidents were very good to the football.

we had four friendlies last yr and this yr we already had four, and heading to the gold cup for the first time in six yrs, what the fack more they want, blood??

IMO it's too late to hire ah new coach, plus we don't have money to do so anyway. i say lets just support the coaches and say thank God we playing football again, be patient, rome was not build in ah doggone day ppl!!
I understand where you coming from, but after watching those games did u get a sense that the team was playing to a specific set of plans? The impression I got was that they were told, get the ball to Kenwyne/Cornell, Kenwyne/Cornell get the ball in the net. Even I could do that. Our team lacked structure, shape, ambition and ideas and sorry but I can't be glad to just continue watching what we are currently trying to pass off as football.

The reason why I brought this up..(and the points about those great coaches are well taken)..is that the game has changed so much over the years.
There is a lot more to coaching these days. Ten years ago til now we saw  possession football increase year by year, the number of tackles  decreasing, technically gifted players increasing. Italy is not a defensive team anymore ..my point is the game is continually changing.
Traditionally it wasn't too difficult to put a group of good players together and the outcome would  either be magic or bust..the coach didn't have to do much the players worked it out on the field.
Nowadays it's different the coach has to have expert knowledge of many fields e.g  leadership, management, psychology, and sports science.
Now when you take a player who has been playing most of his life, and  he takes a couple coaching courses ,when would he have been able to gain this valuable  knowledge in order to be an effective National Coach?
Many of the nonplayer coaches spend a longer time in the 'school of coaching' thus making that coach better qualified for the job. Some of them get masters degree in football.
Now I  don't put Shabazz in this category because he hasn't demonstrated that he's up to date with the most current coaching trends.
A friend of mine and I were debating what criteria our current coaches use to 1) evaluate players 2) evaluate games played since comments coming from both players and the coach after the last two games indicated that either we were watching two different games or that the analysis of those games were seriously lacking. Do we even scout teams anymore? Granted our budget constraints considered, I'm sure videotapes of our and our opposition games are available. Do we have any coaches locally that are seriously of international caliber?

you can also ask people here about Rafa benitez, Mourhino and others
:rotfl: :rotfl: Could always count on the Mag to keep it real. My 2 cents, since Beenhaker we haven't had many coaches that were given complete control of the football. Having said that, idk that we had the tools to play with at the time, and Latas being a novice coach didnt have the time or maybe know how on how to work around it. International coaching and club coaching is two completely different things.

Act like yuh know nah...

I don't think is a matter of stealing support, he contributes and has been contributing to this forum for some time, very valuable and interesting stuff too, I don't see the trouble in posting a comment on his site.
