Ok, this is embarassing.

None of those fighters were on my radar but you are correct.

I will just give you my three.

Mike Weaver, John Ruiz and Andy Ruiz Jr.

Weaver lost to Holmes and beat John Tate.
J. Ruiz lost to Holyfield but then beat him one fight later.
Andy Ruiz lost to Joseph Parker but beat Anthony Joshua

Add Jersey Joe Walcott to the list. Was robbed vs Louis, lost by tko to Louis.
Lost twice to Ezzard Charles then knocked Charles out in the rubber match.  ;D ;D

1. James "Bonecrusher" Smith lost by TKO to Larry Holmes, and then won against Tim Witherspoon

2. Frank Bruno got knocked out by Tim Witherspoon in his first title fight, but won the title by beating Oliver McCall

I shame. I completely forgot about those two.

Ok, three more to go. ;-)

Hint, I am aware of three.

One other fellow lost but was awarded the title without actually having to win it in the ring.

VB

I making it easy now. Only one was black.

All three are still alive.
None of them ever fought Tyson or Ali.

Trinidadian Ian Williams wins Canada’s top literary award for fiction

By Stabroek News November 19, 2019

TORONTO,  (Reuters) – Writer Ian Williams won Canada’s top annual literary award for fiction for his book “Reproduction,” the prize’s sponsor said yesterday.

“Reproduction,” published by Random House Canada, explores the bonds between family and how they are formed, through individuals in a Toronto suburb.

“You have no idea how special this is to me,” Williams told the audience while accepting the Scotiabank Giller Prize. The award carries a cash prize of C$100,000 ($75,901.33) while each of the other five shortlisted finalists takes home C$10,000.

The Giller Prize was founded in 1994 by Jack Rabinovitch, a Montreal-born real estate developer, in memory of his late wife Doris Giller, a literary journalist. Notable Canadian writers including Alice Munro and Mordecai Richler supported its creation, and Scotiabank began backing the award in 2005.

The six shortlisted finalists were chosen from a list of 117 submissions.

Williams’ family emigrated to Canada from Trinidad in the late 80s, according to an interview he gave to the National Post newspaper in 2013. Williams, who is an assistant professor of poetry in the University of British Columbia’s creative writing program, is based in Vancouver and grew up in Brampton, Ontario.

Notable previous winners of the award include Canadian literary giants such as Munro, Richler, Margaret Atwood and Michael Ondaatje. Atwood and Munro are both on the prize’s advisory board, which is separate from the jury.

Atwood’s most recent book, “The Testaments,” a sequel to her popular 1985 dystopian novel “The Handmaid’s Tale,” was long-listed for the award this year.

In selecting Williams’ book for the prize, the jury called it “an engrossing story of disparate people brought together and also a masterful unfolding of unexpected connections and collisions between and across lives otherwise separated by race, class, gender and geography.”

Williams thanked Atwood, who was present at the gala, and said the first book he bought with his own money was one of hers. He also thanked Rabinovitch, who died in 2017, for his support of the arts.

“If you’re wealthy and got tons of money… support whatever moves you,” Williams told the audience.

Discovered a critically acclaimed book by a Trini author here in Medellin: A perfect pledge by Rabindranath Maharaj.

Was curios as to other TT authors as I am presently working on a book myself.

Here's a list:

http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/countries/trinidad.htm

Well after years of procrastination, finally finished the book back in April. All 61 chapters of it. Have been editing and getting the Letter of Query ready. Today I start approaching agents. Fingers crossed. ;-)

Postcard Killer, decent movie. Ending was a bit dotish but anything with Jeffery Dean Morgan just seems to be good.

Bloodshot. Good action movie.

Ad Astra with Brad Pitt, decent Science Fiction Movie.

Just Mercy, damn good film. Recommend it to all. Shameful what they put African Americans through in the US.

I just watched 30 days of night. Good action, big hole in the plot but it''s a movie.

Extraction - good movie, again hole in the plot but go with it.

DO NOT watch the Brawler, based on the life of boxer, Chuck Wepner, no real effort for realism or accuracy better to watch Chuck based on his life and MUCH better.

Walkaway joe - good movie with Jeffery Dean morgan.

pull stones, in my reading, there isn't vacillation. It must be appreciated that  the matter is a fluid matter. There is no direct line.  As such, approaches will change. That's part for the course.
no pun intended big brother but some of those words you’re using are a little to sophisticated and I’m not familiar, so please give me in layman’s terms what you’re actually saying, as this ttfa and FIFA thing is driving me  to the limit, I really don’t know how much of this nonsense I could take.

Strap on the seat belt, bredrin. There's a lot more distance to ride on this rollercoaster. Many thought  it was destined to be a 110 m hurdle run. Zurich thought it would be an immediately done deal and it hasn't been.

vac·il·la·tion
/ˌvasəˈlāSH(ə)n/

noun

the inability to decide between different opinions or actions; indecision

Eh Eh ...ah learn big word today.  ;D

A more layman's approach here. ;-)

Y'all know about this fella?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atiba_Hutchinson

I know we like to follow Trini roots all over the world- never heard anyone talk about this guy.  Now watching him playing against Man City in the UEFA Cup (match played earlier this week I believe).... If I missed a thread about him, hard luck.....

I sometimes teach Eng.. on line. I had a student from Istanbul today. He lives in Besiktas and apparently ATiba Hutchinson is his neighbour
They live in different apartments but he can see AH from his balcony.
I had forgotten about AH but as he has played for PSV Eindhoven and Besiktas and still at Bes. at aged 37 he must be doing something right.

He say AH is  "a good father. Every morning at 9 am he comes out on the balcony and plays with his children."

Not really football related but I was so surprised to hear the name come up in my class and of course I was a Besikas fan when I lived in Ist.

I realize that there are a few TT movies on Youtube but certainly not all. I can't find them on Torrents and as I live abroad really hard to go a cinema in the few countries that they are in.

Anywhere on the net I can find these movies, any kind of stream available?

Although like many I questioned Denzil's constant starting on the NT. I always liked his story, he is an inspiration for the lower income youth.

I wish him the best.
