Group A: Mexico, Honduras, Curacao/El Salvador, Canada, Belize

Group B: Costa Rica, Panama, Grenada/Haiti, Jamaica/Nicaragua

Group C: USA, Trinidad & Tobago, St Vincent & the Grenadines/Aruba, Antigua & Barbuda/Guatemala

The top two in each group then go to Round 5...

Not a bad group...This will be a marathon until the end, but with alot of hard work, dedication and a bit of luck, We can qualify for Russia 2018.

"CONCACAF THIEVES"

I understand that they are upset about the decision, but to go after the confederation in this manner is a bit childish.

If dey eh like CONCACAF, go join up with CONMEBOL and see how far yuh will progress.

Guardado claims he thought briefly about misfiring on the penalty. But then said, other teams have not treated Mexico with mercy in the past when calls were flawed. He said at the end of the day, he's a professional and had to execute as a professional.

What he didn't say is that no one in Mexico would have forgiven him for pursuing the first option. He would probably have lost the armband as well.

So he basically admitting that the ref gifted them a penalty and their team did not deserve to play in the finals...

If this score  holds, the Mexican coach getting ah pink slip on the way to the dressing room.
Also, as bad as Mexico has been, this will be a testament to show that Panama was a formidable opponent who only beat us by penalties....

I'll have to take a minute to let this one sink in.  I believe our strength In defense has made us into a formidable unit.  I don't believe we will be able to hold onto Schaeffer. He is a master tactician.

Apart from our goalie, I think we executed well in all departments.

I am pretty sure the Mexicans might be having second thoughts after that rough up they got vs T&T.

Congrats RF....Well deserved victory.
Remind the analyst that this is not the greatest victory by a JA team. If I remember correctly, you did beat Japan in a 1998 WC game...

How come all of a sudden, these US commentators are suddenly experts on the Goalkeeper 6-second rule???

The 6-second rule never ever came-up during the US commentaries whenever the US goalkeepers held the ball whenever they were leading in the 2nd half. Hmmmmmmm....maybe it's just a coincidence.    ;D

Stupesss....welp welp welp....all of a sudden dey complaining bout time wasting. Now when iz dem iz ah great tactic.

Looking for 2 red  cards and 3 penalty in the 2nd half....dem ref go get ah half time lecture.

Steups, that shit side looking for licks whole tournament.

Iz de first time in awhile that both Mexico and the US have sub-par teams that look beatable by anyone not named Cuba.
Bodes well for the WC qualifying rounds as there will be no easy games...

I had a feeling there would be an emotional and physical let down after the Mexico game. These are all important learning experiences.  Handling success is just as much of a learning experience as handling adversity.

Spot on!

Any one of these teams that advances will have a difficult semi-final because of this extended game.

Why are we forcing that long ball?

This team has flashes but too many mental lapses.

Not sure if it is the game plan to play the long ball up to KJ, but the midfielders need to be more involved in the  passing game and dictating the tempo.

Coach Hart's tactics were spot on. Absorb pressure in the first half and press dem in the second half.
Face it, we don't have the conditioning to press for 90mins. (3 games in 6 days).
The Mexicans had no chance to make any 2nd half adjustments in the locker room.  :beermug: :beermug: :beermug:

What are your thoughts on the moments when we seemed to fluctuate in absorbing pressure (almost needlessly?) Even with the own goal (KJ had absolutely no business!!! reaching for that ball with his body positioned like that), I still feel we conceded another goal unnecessarily because we were not seizing the advantage.
I  think that the team stopped playing and pressing to early. They were up 3-2 in the 82nd minute and guys were taking the ball into the corner to kill time.
KJ's own goal was unfortunate s he was trying his best to aide the defence on those cross balls.
If yuh include the unnecessary give away by him that led to Mexico's 2nd goal, he was responsible for 2 of their goals. Unfortunate but accurate.... Other than those two mishaps, I believe he had a great game upfront.
