For a fella as sharp and talented as Warner you would really expect a much stronger  organizational culture than TTFF.
Ya know Zandoh,
Of all the negative things said about Jack, yours is the MOST damning and revealing

BY FRANCIS JOSEPH

THE international friendly dubbed A Score to Settle between T&T and England scheduled for June 1 is now in jeopardy.

This is because of a new dispute between the Minister of Sport Gary Hunt and the T&T Football Federation (TTFF) over the use of the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

The Minister of Sport has submitted a new draft lease agreement for the use of the stadium. But this has not gone down well with the TTFF, who insists there was a binding agreement made on March 15 that the TTFF used to negotiate for the June 1 encounter with the English Football Association (FA).

Lawyers acting for the TTFF have given the Minister of Sport until Friday morning to resolve this matter, failing which they intend to take the matter to the High Court to seek injunctive relief.

The cancellation of the T&T vs England match could also lead to legal action being taken by the English FA for losses incurred, sources said last night.

The match was organised to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the TTFF, and the healing of wounds between FIFA vice president Jack Warner and the English FA over comments made last year.

‘Same terms’

Om Lalla, attorney for the TTFF, in a three-page letter to the Minister of Sport yesterday pointed out that his client approached the Ministry by letter dated February 18 requesting the use of the stadium for the England match.

Lalla said a written response, dated March 11, was received from stadium manager Wilfred Stephen agreeing to the use of the facilities subject to the rescheduling of certain events at the stadium.

The TTFF, he added, was also informed that the rental charges would be forwarded at a later date.

TTFF general secretary Richard Groden met with Stephen on March 15 when it was agreed that the stadium was available for use by the TTFF and the only issue to be agreed upon was the rental cost.

Lalla said Stephen agreed that the terms of the rental of the stadium would be the same terms on which the TTFF had rented the stadium over the past 20 years for national and international matches.

The Guardian was informed that, in recent years, the TTFF was called upon to pay a rental of $3,000 plus VAT or ten per cent of the gate receipts, whichever sum was greater, plus $2,000 and VAT for electricity.

Having received oral confirmation, Groden entered into an agreement on behalf of the TTFF with the English FA on March 17 for the hosting of the game at the stadium.

According to Lalla, the terms and conditions of the agreement dealt with the use of the stadium for the purposes of advertising, tickets and access.

He said the TTFF also hosted officials of the English FA to the stadium in March and conducted an examination of the facility.

Lalla, in his letter, said the TTFF sent a letter dated April 12 requesting a waiver of the fees agreed to in March for the use of the stadium. He said the local federation withdrew the request by letter dated May 5 due to a lack of co-operation from the Minister.

‘Markedly different’

Lalla said the TTFF executive was shocked to receive a draft lease agreement from Stephen on May 15. He said the draft lease agreement contained terms and conditions that were markedly different to those agreed upon at previous meetings.

The Ministry of Sport, in a media release yesterday, said among the conditions contained in the draft lease agreement were:

n a rental sum of $150,000 plus VAT or ten per cent of the gross gate receipts, whichever sum was greater;

n a refundable deposit of $45,000 towards damage;

n provision of advertising space, at a cost, within the television arc; and,

n prohibition of alcohol and tobacco advertising.

Lalla said Groden sent off a letter yesterday to the Minister seeking an urgent determination of this matter. The TTFF attorney reminded Hunt that the contract entered between the parties on March 15, was binding.

“To renege therefrom would amount not only to a breach of contract, but will have serious consequences of loss, embarrassment and liability to my client,” he said.

“My client agreed to use the facilities of the national stadium solely on the basis of the agreement entered into on or about the 15th of March 2008.

“This 11th-hour draft release, which does not reflect the agreement between your Ministry and our client, with less than ten days before the scheduled game, is not only disingenuous, but will cause irreparable damage to the reputation of the TTFF and subject each and every citizen of T&T to shame and humiliation and will result in a breach of contract with the English FA and may result in a cancellation of the match.”

Lalla said the TTFF advertised and sold tickets locally and internationally for the match.

The Port-of-Spain attorney reminded Hunt that the match was scheduled to be televised worldwide.

“As a consequence, it is imperative that personal and political differences are buried at this crucial hour and the joint efforts of your Ministry and our client are mobilised in the national interest,” Lalla wrote.

Ban on alcohol ads baffles Carib
Colin Murray, sponsorship and events manager at Carib, said his company had entered into an agreement with the TTFF for billboard and other advertising at the stadium.

As the official beer of the match, Murray said Carib had no agreement with the Ministry of Sport.

He could not understand the prohibition of alcohol advertising at the stadium, saying Heineken and Carling featured prominently in the English Premiership, while other alcohol companies were main sponsors for sport around the world.

Warner: No more matches at stadium
FIFA vice president Jack Warner said last night the T&T-England match on June 1 would be the last international game at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

Commenting on the sudden increase in rental at the stadium, Warner said Minister of Sport Gary Hunt wanted to put his back to the wall, “but he cannot do that; I am going after him, mark my words.”

Warner said the last sports minister Roger Boynes had waived the fees at the stadium for the World Cup qualifying matches for the 2006 campaign.

“Look at what this minister has done,” Warner said.

“He has asked for a rental of $150,000 or ten per cent of the gate receipts.

“This match is costing us $15 million. We have sold $7.8 million in tickets, that means he wants $780,000 for the rental of the stadium.

“Where is the rest of the money going to come from?”

Warner said the Ministry was charging $10,000 for each of the 32 advertising billboards within the television arc and $5,000 for other advertising.

“We agreed for the English FA to come with six boards, what are we to do now?” he asked.

Chris,

With one bullet you did two things:
1. Pulled yourself, your teamates and a whole country out of the  graveyard.
2. Buried the ghost of 1989 that haunted T&T football.

You did more for T&T football than T&T football did for you. People like Jack Warner, Alvin and Anton Corneal are not big enough to admit that fact.

UNITED PETROTRIN maintained its lead at the top of the T&T Pro League table when it defeated Vibe CT 105 W Connection 1-0, at the Palo Seco Recreation Ground, for win number four from as many matches yesterday.

Simeon Augustus was the hero for the “Oilmen” with the lone strike in the 63rd minute to push the Brian Williams-coached team to maximum 12 points, two ahead of defending champions Clico San Juan Jabloteh. Jabloteh hammered St Ann’s Rangers 5-0 at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, with five different players on target.

At the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya, the “Eastern Lions” bmobile Joe Public tore Ma Pau to shreds, 3-1 after a 0-0 first 45 minutes.

Kerry Baptiste was the architect of the Joe Public win with two goals, to up his tally to five while he also created the third.

Akhel Fairbain had created the best chance of the half for Ma Pau when his well-directed header came back off the underside of the crossbar. Baptiste sprung into action, with two strikes in four minutes. First in the 52nd minute, he picked up the ball just outside “D” and shot past the outstretched arm of Marshall for a 1-0 lead.

Four minutes later the nippy midfielder beat Marshall from a little close to double his team’s advantage.

In the 70th minute, the veteran Arnold Dwarika played a clever right-side free-kick to Bapitiste who then played a pass to an unmarked Keyeno Thomas who easily side-footed home from point blank range to put the match beyond doubt before Rennie Britto scored a consolation goal for Ma Pau in time added on.

In yesterday’s other match, Neal & Massy Caledonia AIA beat Defence Force 2-1 at Malabar, with Nigel Codrington scoring an 86th minute winner.

Kendall Velox had given Caledonia the lead in the 49th minute before Devon Jorsling levelled the score in the 80th minute.

BY GREGORY TRUJILLO

COACH Brian Williams was pleased as punch yesterday, after watching his United Petrotrin side maintain its unbeaten record in the T&T Professional Football League with a resounding 3-0 win over Neal and Massy Caledonia AIA at Larry Gomes Stadium in Arima.

“Last season we suffered too many losses by slim margins and draws but this season we have changed all that,” said Williams of his team’s three consecutive wins.

Vibe CT 105 W Connection rebounded from its 0-1 loss to Caledonia on Tuesday with a workmanlike 4-1 win over debutants Mau Pau at Mannie Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella.

After Jonathan Frias (15th) and Oscar Torijano (31st) gave the “Savonetta Boys” a two goal lead, Mau Pau played itself back in the game with a goal in the 39th minute by Sayid Freitas.

W Connection came out with more purpose in the second period and put the game out of the reach of the northern-based side with two further goals from William Oliviere (61st) and Clyde Leon (82nd).

Following its opening loss (0-1) to North East Stars and draw (1-1) with bMobile Joe Public, Defence Force came from behind to stop St Ann’s Rangers 2-1 at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Mucurapo.

The architect of the victory was striker Devon Jorsling, who scored in the 54th and 81st minutes, cancelling out the Rangers’ only goal scored by Keon Edwards in the 16th minute.

Up against its toughest opposition following victories over North East Stars (3-1) and St Ann’s Rangers (1-0), Petrotrin got the start coach Williams wanted when Simeon Augustus netted in the first minute.

In form striker Jerrol Forbes wasted no time in getting on the score sheet in the 18th minute for the southerners to go into the interval with a two goal cushion.

Keon Daniel increased the Petrotrin lead with his team’s third goal in the 69th minute while Kester Jacobs pulled a goal back for the “Stallions” in the 75th.

Daniel rounded off the scoring for Petrotrin in the final minute for a well-deserving victory.

Coach Williams said: “We recognise that this is our fourth year at the Pro League level and we need to be more result oriented. Things are working just right for us.”

“There is no secret with Petrotrin in 2008. It’s just that we have continued doing the things that will improve our game. We always try to be result oriented and with the new additions to our team this season, we have the right discipline to win many more matches.”

Yesterday results of early matches:

DEFENCE FORCE 2 (Devon Joesling 54th, 81st) v ST ANN’S RANGERS 1 (Keon Edwards 16th).

NEAL AND MASSY CALEDONIA AIA 1 (Kester Jacobs 75th) v UNITED PETROTRIN 4 (Keon Daniel 69th, 90th; Simeon Augustus 1st; Jerrol Forbes 18th).

VIBE CT 105 W CONNECTION 4 (Jonathan Frias 15th; Oscar Torijano 31st; Willliam Oliviere 61st; Clyde Leon 82nd) v MA PAU 1 (Sayid Freitas 39th).

Respect is something you have to earn. Alas, the TTFF never misses an opportunity to lose respect and credibility.

Roy Keane is acting the way he is because the TTFF has clearly showed him how unprofessional, disrespectful and incredulous they are as an organization.

At this stage in Carlos Edwards’ recovery from major injuries - and still not yet fully recovered - he has no business coming back to play for Jack Warner and his puppets.

Fu#k the TTFF. They are a bunch of selfish greedy bastards.

By Randy Bando...

A scorching free-kick by Keon Daniel and another goal by Devon Jorsling both scored in the second period helped Trinidad and Tobago to a 2-1 comeback win over visiting Guyana on Tuesday morning at the Ato Boldon Stadium Training Field in a friendly practice match.

Despite T&T having the better exchanges of passing, it was Guyana who took the first half advantage when Tobago United striker Collie Hurcules buried the ball at goalkeeper Daurance Williams’ far post after latching onto a long pass in the 37th minute for the 1-0 score under sunny conditions with the 10am kick-off.

Three minutes before Hurcules’ item, his teammate Shawn Beveney had Guyana’s best opening opportunity but he fumbled wide of the upright after receiving a low Walter Moore cross.

T&T with Densill Theobald in captain role and Caledonia AIA midfielder Marvin Oliver in total control lasted out the remaining first half minutes in dominance but were short of the equalising item at the break.

T&T Assistant Coach Anton Corneal used the Guyana opportunity to allow players in national training that didn’t feature in their 2-2 draw against Puerto Rico on Saturday the chance to prove themselves ahead of selection for the Guadeloupe Friendly International on Ash Wednesday-February 6.

Guyana visiting Trinidad on a two-day trip are also coming off a 2-2 draw last weekend. The ‘Golden Jaguars’ were held by St Vincent and the Grenadines.

T&T making a couple changes following the break took some time
settling but again proved ahead of their opponents.

The fresh legs of Caledonia AIA forward Hayden Tinto and Joe Public’s Kendall Jagdesingh allowed T&T to attack more and a couple scoring chances.

T&T then equalized in the 58th minute when United Petrotrin’s lanky midfielder Keon Daniel saw the opportunity to go at goal from a dead-ball situation outside the area. Daniel left the Tobago United and Guyana goalie Andrew Durrant stunned when he whipped the brilliantly into the back of the net for a 1-1 score.

T&T continued to dominate and five minutes later Defence Force striker Devon Jorsling had the easy task of putting the home-team ahead 2-1 after a fumble by goalkeeper Durrant and defenders to control a Hayden Tinto cross-ball.

In the 76th minute Jorsling was close to completing his double only to be denied by the crossbar which vibrated after his powerful header from inside the area off W Connection’s Clyde Leon right sided cross.

T&T held out to the final whistle with their 2-1 win leaving the visiting Guyanese National Team in the agony of defeat.

Head Coach of the Guyanese National Senior Team Jamaal Shabaaz told ‘ttproleague.com’ afterwards, he wasn’t interested in the result.

“It was all about getting the opportunity to see a couple new guys in my squad,” said the Caledonia AIA Coach. “It wasn’t just about winning or losing. I am still preparing the Guyana team and I have to keep looking at all the players I have also making room for new ones. This is what these matches are about.”

The Guyana Team will leave Trinidad tonight(Tuesday) accompanied by Shabaaz to prepare for back to back friendly matches against Cuba on February 22 and 24. Guyana are preparing for upcoming 2010 World Cup qualifying action in June against the winner of Suriname/Montserrat.

On the performance of his team which included players such as North East Stars’ Randolph Jerome, Tobago United’s Collie Hurcules and Caledonia AIA’s Walter Moore and Howard Lowe, Shabaaz said, “The match wasn’t at high intensity. T&T played well and we(Guyana) had periods of good football, with good holding and passing. I think the match had its worth.”

T&T Squad against Guyana
Daurance Williams(Tristan Charles 46th)(GK), Dwayne Jack, Terrance Mc Allister(Kerron Smith 46th), Nigel Daniel, Jason Springer(Kern Cupid 46th), Marvin Oliver(Keon Daniel(46th), Densill Theobald, Andrei Pacheco(Clyde Leon 46th), Kerry Noray(Hayden Tinto 46th), Devon Jorsling, Richard Roy(Kendall Jagdeosingh 46th)

Although I am partial to Wim and I would always believe in my heart that he got a raw deal, I could live with the fact that the two parties had to part ways.

What I have a hard time grappling with is they have abandoned the Dutch influence that got us to the “promise land.” I would have been happy with Maturana as senior coach and a Dutchman in charge of our youth development, not Zaron Vranes.

I am not surprised though. Jack Warner has proved once again that he is impetuous, short sighted and he has no vision for our football. I long for the day when he is no longer in charge.

But the players on their national team are not known to be fundamentally sound and their team almost never play as a unit.

Colombia would lose to both the US and Mexico 90% of the time!!!!

Colombian footballers are not fundamentally sound??? Breds, Colombia's top footballers are usually technically gifted and fundamentally strong. The US will get they a$$ wash playing Colombia in Colombia every day of the week. Colombia has played the US 15 times and won 11 (2 on pk shootouts). More importantly, check recent results. They've played 4 times since 2000 with Colombia winning 3 and USA winning once. None of those games were played in Colombia (altho 2 were in Miami..) and one was really a tie that Colombia won in a pk shootout. This year, Colombia tied Brazil and beat Argentina in WC qualifiers. Colombia beat Mexico in the Copa America final in 2001 and knock them out of Gold Cup 2005. Since 2000, Mexico and Colombia have met 7 times and Colombia has won 4 times with 2 ties and 1 victory for Mexico. So recent history is quite different than you think. They have beaten Mexico the last 2 times times they've played in 2005 and 2007. I kow this was not your main point, but you kill your credibillity when you back it up with this kinda nonsense.

Nice post!!

Based on the stats you have cited, I guess we would be in good hands if we hire a Colombian coach and he would be quite cable of addressing all of the technical deficiencies of our players.

By the way Filho, I have never professed to be an expert nor do I try to impose my values on anyone on this forum. Personally, I would prefer to have Dutch and Argentine coaches in charge of all of our national teams. That's my opinion!!!!

Also, don't get to excited, I believe the Colombians are underachievers and the US and Mexico have better techincal players than they do. Again, my opinion.

Finally, I don't have to prove anything to you!!!!

Merry Christmas!!

Personally, I would stay Dutch; but if the TTFF are going to hire a South American coach, why would they leave Brazil and Argentina to go to Colombia?

TTFF!!! Remember that our players are not fundamentally sound, and you have to pick coaches that have the ability to address that issue.

If you watch Colombia closely and objectively you would find there is a lot of passion for the game in that country and they have talented players. But the players on their national team are not known to be fundamentally sound and their team almost never play as a unit.

Colombia would lose to both the US and Mexico 90% of the time!!!!
In case allyuh forget, the US and Mexico are the yardsticks.

IF ALLYUH DONE WITH DEM DUTCH PEOPLE GO TO ARGENTINA, GET A GOOD COACH(S) AND BUILD WE PROGRAM FROM THE GROUND UP.

The goal has to be to fix our players fundamentally and have all our teams play as a unit at all times.

JOSE PECKERMAN comes to my mind!!!!!!!!

Anyway, hire allyuh Colombian coach or make Anton Corneal the permanent coach. That is allyuh decision.

This thread is nonsense! Those men are corrupt, and if you can't see that they are, you're smoking crack!!! This decision is a joke, and the team needs a coach with pedigree not Anton Corneal! Those of you who think this news is positive have got to be totally outside of reality! The team will be a bunch of Anton's favorites now, and it will be one set of shit until he is replaced! I really cannot stand the fact that the whole of T&T, players and fans included haven't boycotted the damn TTFF, and get all of them the hell out!! Sickening man!!

rick titus,

I would love to see the people of T&T, especially all football fans, do two things:

1. Identify the ten businesses Jack Warner revealed he owns during the    general election campaign and boycott every single one of them.

2. Boycott the 2010 world cup campaign. Don’t attend any home matches, and picket each game, demanding the TTFF rewrite its constitution in order to have open and democratic elections every four years.

A lot of us on this forum have justly called Jack Warner every name in the book. He has never and will never respond to us. However, if we start to mess with his means of INCOME - legally, peacefully and in an organized manner - you would see how fast he responds.

This is the only way we the fans can get Jack Warner to take us seriously and bring him to the negotiation table.

As a die hard Trini football fan, I am allowed to dream.

Merry Chirstmas to our moderators - Flex, Tallman and palos - and every single poster on this forum. All the best to every single one of you and your loved ones!!

T&T football pay dispute to end soon.
T&T Guardian Reports.
[/size]

LONDON–The dispute between T&T football authorities and senior members of their national squad could be resolved soon.
Jack Warner, special adviser to the T&T Football Federation (T&TFF), said the matter, which has torn T&T football apart, was expected to go to arbitration here shortly. The players are suing the T&TFF over monies allegedly owed them, arising out of the World Cup in Germany last year. The T&TFF have maintained the players have received their share of the profits.
The Concacaf boss and Fifa vice-president said whatever the outcome, he believed the T&TFF had taken the right stance on the issue.
“The matter with the players goes to arbitration in England very soon and whatever the outcome, I am still convinced that the Football Federation has been correct in their dealing with the players and in the end common sense will prevail,” said Warner.
He was speaking en route to South Africa where he will attend the preliminary draw for the 2010 World Cup.
Warner said while there, he would meet with Fifa president Sepp Blatter to discuss several Concacaf issues.
“As of now I will head off to the draw which I hope will be a very good one for the teams in Concacaf and especially T&T and even England,” Warner said.
“I also intend to meet with Mr Blatter and discuss with him several matters affecting Concacaf including the poor state of refereeing.” (CMC)

Investigations into $30m spent on elections by UNC/A

Government, in one of its first corruption probes will order a forensic audit of the finances of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) to see whether if football funds were used to finance the  United National Congress/Alliance  (UNC/A) campaign in the general election.

UNC/A deputy political leader, Jack Warner is advisor to the TTFA and is in charge of financial affairs of the Federation.

Sources say that the Federation has about $250 million in its account from contributions made by the Government for the Soca Warriors campaign “On the Road to Germany” for the Football World Cup last year.

The private sector also pumped money to assist the Soca Warriors and Government has put money into the Federation for the development of football in the country.

Questions are being raised as to how the UNC/A was able to raise close to $30 million to finance the party’s campaign in a bid to remove the ruling People’s National Movement (PNM) from office.

Warner, who was the main financer of the UNC/A was accused by Diego Martin MP Dr. Keith Rowley of using Fifa’s money for the election, which he has denied saying that he owns 13 companies and the funds spent were from his own pocket.

The UNC/A in a bid for power spent twice the amount of the other opposition party, the Congress of the People (COP) and some are arguing that the money could have also surpassed the amount spent by the PNM.

The UNC/A spent millions on the international artistes, erecting stages at venues where they held their rallies, bringing down two civil rights activists from the United States, chartering a jet to South Africa to try and persuade freedom fighter Nelson Mandela to come to Trinidad to endorse the UNC/A in the election.

However, Warner, Panday and his wife, Oma who made the South Africa trip was unable to get Mandela to come here for the party’s rally last week.

Reports are that Warner, who for the first time was contesting a seat in an election, spent close to $3 million to win the Chaguanas West seat, where he was victorious.

Millions were also spent on entertainment for food, drinks, and transportation, jerseys for supporters at their political meetings and motorcades.

But in the end the UNC/A only managed to go back into opposition with one less seat as the party won only 15 seats with the PNM taking 26 seats in the 41-member Parliament.

Had the UNC/A won the election, there are reports that Warner was bidding to become Prime Minister.

Warner, who is chairman of the UNC/A, defeated COP candidate Manohar Ramsaran, the former Chaguanas MP. Millionaire Warner has stated that if he should win his seat, he wants a salary of one dollar a month and if he performed well that would be increased to two dollars.

He also said that he came from humble beginnings and the money, his riches, would be shared with the people and some given back to the poor communities.

Sources say that Prime Minister Patrick Manning would be focusing on corruption and intends to carry out several investigations into allegations of corruption within his Government and Opposition MP’s.

TT Proleague Facts

Number of teams = 10
Number of rounds played = 4
Number of matches played each year = 36
Number of matches played as of 10/23/07 = 24
Percentage of matches completed as of 10/23/07 = 24/36 = 67%

I don’t have a problem with the people who dislike Wim, to each his own. Personally, I think he is an excellent coach. I believe, however, Wim should quit and leave Trinidad immediately. This marriage is not working out, and I am not seeing any evidence it will improve in the future. The leader of the TTFF is dense and most of our Pro League club administrators are just as dense.

Imagine our local players have completed 67% of the games in the domestic league and most of them cannot pass a fitness test conducted by coach Wim Rijsbergen. This is an indictment on the players themselves and on the coaches and trainers of each Pro League team. Red flag!! Red flag!!

Would the Mexican players fail a fitness test conducted by their national coach after completing 67% of their domestic league matches? Would the Costa Rican players fail a fitness test conducted by their national coach after completing 67% of their domestic league matches? Would the American players fail a fitness test conducted by their national coach after completing 67% of their domestic league matches?

To many people in the football fraternity would rather castigate Wim Rigsbergen for providing us with relevant and irrefutable information instead of making a conscious effort - with or without Wim’s help - to fix the deficiencies that are so obvious in our football.

To the TTFF and Pro League administrators:
I don’t care if allyuh like Wim Rigsbergen. Fix the technical and administrative problems that are hurting our football.

I want to cut the US ass on a regular basis. I want to cut Mexico’s ass on a regular basis, and I want to cut Costa Rica’s ass on a regular basis. Hence, I want to qualify for the world cup on a regular basis. Fix the problems or get out of football and give someone else a chance to fix the problems.

Wim is working for a jackass boss, period.

Wim should tell Jack Warner to take the four year contract they both agreed to and put it where the sun don't shine. Then he should get the hell out of Trinidad.

The more of this shit Wim puts up with the more respect I lose for him as a person.

LYNDON ANTOINE scored a first-half brace, as ten-man Grenada defeated host T&T 3-2, in the final match of the Caribbean Football Union Second Round Group G qualifiers, for next year’s Beijing Olympics at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya, yesterday.

Antoine, who also netted in his team’s 2-1 loss to Concacaf Final Round qualifiers Cuba on Thursday at the same venue, opened the scoring with a header from a corner within the first ten minutes.

The lively Antoine doubled Grenada’s lead in the 34th minute when he tapped in a cross from Ariel Jacob for his team to take a comfortable 2-0 lead into the interval.

Five minutes into the second-half, T&T defender Devon Drayton was adjudged to have brought down Marcus Julien in the penalty-area by Mexican referee Marco Moreno and from the resulting spot-kick Shane Rennie beat goalkeeper Andre Charles for to extend the visitors advantage.

However, in the 72nd minute, Grenada was reduced to 10-men after defender Stephen Peters was given his marching orders for a sliding tackle from behind on T&T’s Matthew Bartholomew.

Six minutes after the sending off, Aaron Downing almost pulled a goal back for T&T, but his long range effort slammed into the cross-bar.

However a minute later, substitute Carlyle Mitchell did found the target for T&T when he was on spot to tuck home from close range after goalkeeper Denroy Richardson failed to hold onto a cross-ball.

Bartholomew then set up an interesting final ten minutes when he chested down a left-sided cross, turned on his marker and fired his shot across goalkeeper Richardson and into the far corner for a 3-2 score-line.

But despite coming close on a few more occasions, Grenada defence marshalled by captain Marc Marshall was able to hold T&T at bay and pull off a shock win, which left the host bottom of the standings without a point.

Cuba, the other team in the group secured the lone spot available to the Concacaf Final Round Qualifiers with a 2-1 win over Grenada and a 3-0 shut-out of T&T on Tuesday.
