Was I the only person who read the article past the smoking statement?  I found latas had some very insightful things to say, including how he still regards November 19th as still one of his biggest games in his career and the reason for the burning desire he has for world cup qualifying redemption that has never extinguished in the last 15 years and is his prime motivation for returning to this campaign.

Let's focus on the positives guys......Germany Here We Come (well at least Asia first)

Football / R&B Concert or TnT v Guatemala Part Deux on Sept 3rd!!
« on: August 21, 2005, 12:01:02 PM »
I don't know what anti-soca warriors concert promoter decided to put the 'Biggest R&B Concert to Hit Trinidad' on the same day that we need Trinidad's support to beat Guatemala at Home!!!

I know the artistes, Jagged Edge, 112, and Joe, would appeal mainly to the ladies. But u know guys does follow the ladies and men mightn't want to fork out money for both events.

It also depends on what time the concert is set to start.

In any case, we'll separate the Real Soca Warriors from the Bandwagoners, although we do NEED that support

I'm glad everyone is starting to be realistic and stop sugar coating the poor performances that tnt have been exhibiting. We are a country of 'If Onlys'...but the fact remains if we master the fundamentals...maintaining possession....ball to foot passes, not taking chances in defensive.....proper marking on set places and crosses....taking more than one shot per half...we wouldn't have to ask 'what if'.  I'm a die hard tnt fan which is why i believe we need to start being realistic and shake off that lethargy which is ever presence in tnt football.

I can't believe I paying for this terrible coverage...we all know Selwyn AUTO Melville, but this David John Williams co commentator is very inarticulate and stuttering all the time. Not a voice for radio.

TERRIBLE MARKING!!!

Lack of urgency from the start, just like the last game we played them in Boston!!

Thanx Arrow......

That 1996, Gold Cup 3-2 loss is still a classic in my mind. If  all yuh look at the 3rd goal the US scored from a free kick.  It have 6 MAN in TnT wall NO LIE and he still get it past Ross Russell on the side he was supposed to be covering!!!!

That Boston WC qualifying game was disappointing. I was there, everyone was pumped and that goal in under 30 seconds just kill the entire vibe!! The Connecticut crew can't let that happen!!!

Football / Re: Beenhaker Double Standard
« on: August 14, 2005, 12:25:01 PM »
Quote
Glen's ommission had nothing to do with his playing time. Dis is what Beenhakker said:

"It was a choice between Cornell , Scott and Jason and once again it’s a fact that Scott has been playing every week and has been scoring goals."

Actually in the same article he said

Beenhaker: “There aren’t much changes in the team but as you know there are some players that are not with clubs at the moment.'

Shaun Fuentes: A notable omission is US-based striker Cornell Glen but again, the Dutch-born coach talked about selecting players in that particular position who have been active with their clubs.

Football / Beenhaker Double Standard
« on: August 12, 2005, 06:40:19 PM »
Is it just me who thinks there's a Beenhaker double standard for leaving out Cornell Glenn and to a lesser extent Jason Scotland, under the rationale that they haven't been training regularly with a club and has Sancho in his side who is currently unattached. I mean I agree Sancho is one of our better defenders, but as a reason for leaving out Glenn...Beenhaker needs to come better
