Did you fellas see the cut ass Honduras put on USA last Evening. Development program has both the youth and the senior team playing the same brand and a force to be recon with in Concacaf.
Just look at Panama. Steady . methodical and no quick fix. Now the Coaching staff is saying the players did not step up. Well , we need a scapegoat as usual. What's new?. Listening to Mr Corneal I really thought given his long exposure and hands on with T&T football , that we were in the world Cup mix.
When the USA  did not make it in this qualifier , the first Question was a Review and Questions about the teams failure. I hope it is not business as usual for The Coaching staff and the team .

Corneal has the best wuk in the footballing world...im convinced! One man can continuously fail at his job and still keep his job for so long is remarkable to me. He has the responsibility to groom young players into strong professionals that is supposed to feed into our national setup...how has that project gone thus far? Look at our current national team and you'll find your answer! Corneal and them is just one long cancerous part of T&T football.

Excellent highlights, Trini_2018! They really show the intensity of the atmosphere. I'm not so sure that these qualifying tournaments should be held in any nation involved in qualifying. I don't care how much prep Panama had, they had the benefit of being en casa.

Did you say the same thing when Jack was arranging these same qualifiers in T&T?

Anyhow as I said in an earlier post, Johan was exceptional and I wish him all the best.  :beermug:

Tim Kee and the ministry of Sport need to dump millions into our youth system and our coaching programmes.. We need to bring in a foreign TD with a sparkling resume and let him run the programme starting with alot of coaching courses and then meet with all the zones and come up with the fixture schedule which can be from Jan-July...  School Football runs September-November

Zones should have u10, u13, u15, u17 leagues to allow alot of players to play

Play Play Play..but under the guidance of certified coaches all using the National Philosophy which will be implemented by the TD and his coaching courses etc

Youth Pro league teams must be of the highest quality,  best youth coaches at u10, 13, 15 and 17 levels and a very competitive youth league... This will be the player pool as they would be the elite group while the zonal teams will allow the lesser talents to grow and improve with playing consistently until they are good enough to be drafted into a youth pro league team.

It will be a great effort to pull it off..but it is a system. Execute it correctly and the rewards will be huge. The National teams will have a team full of technically sound players and the gap in Concacaf will reduce..we wont catch USA or Mexico but we have to be on par or better than the others

They have to do it ASAP or we will be left behind....we cannot depend on natural talent anymore..those days are DEAD

Agree look how far panama has come people ....
Look how far Mexico has come! All of the Mexican teams are highly competive and that always wasnt the case, especially at youth level (I'm not talking Concacaf im talking on the world stage).

The boys played decent tonight in the first half. We were out coached I felt. The substitutions from Cooper were questionable in the 2nd half and Panama did a wonderful job of adjusting at the half and made Fortune a non factor 2nd half. Our keeper was good and kept us in the game, until his howler. His angles on one on ones is spot on and hopefully with more experience he can become a quality shot stopper. Fortune, number 7, 9 and 2 (before his card) I found were decent little players for the future. Tough luck boys on the loss.

Now I'll tune is to meh boy Shaqi tomorrow and see how he does!! :beermug:

Good victory for the youths tonight. You suppose to beat teams you better than and our team was better than CR tonight. Must say Sam and I believe Fortune played well. I most was impressed with our defensive recovery. I havent seen a T&T team recover on defense like that in a long time. That was the key for me. Congrats! :beermug:

Ah tired of this charade we have that we are calling national football at all levels. I feel sad for these young players. I am sure they will do better under a proper structure and well run administration . It is just a lot of fooling and reign of mediocrity . It is time  to put a stop to it.
Father commenting on game , son is Technical Director. Can we get unbiased opinions of the team's performance from any one else?
Jamaica with 9 players drew with Panama! Well done! I am sure this charade cannot happen in Jamaica! They are very serious and we just like it so!

And that right there is the main reason why we playing the same style of football for the past 20 years. The same losing idiots prepping these teams for the same failures. Its truly very sad!

US leading Haiti 1-0 from a pen. Watching Shak Moore at RB for US. Nice player. Haiti, not bad. They have lots of injuries so far. Already made 2 subs.
Deeks I now come home and watching, TnT football sweet too bad yes!!!

Yuh mean Moore really had to still be the US CAPTAIN (!!!), like dey doing dat for spite or what.

De BOTH announcers have ah man-crush on Moore, dey spend ah lil period dey only talking bout how GOOD he is and mentioned Brazilian Cafu, and talking bout even though he had the captain armband, dey didn't know he woulda be THAT influential (or something like dat??)

Me? I only shaking meh head and smiling, There they go again talking about how he repping for he coach and he country and blah, blah, blah...nearly just had an assist to boot...it really eh easy being ah TnT football supporter nah.

LOL....Fyzo yuh make meh laugh with this post. Shaq played really well. Proud of him!! :beermug:

Agreed with the comments that these warm ups should of taken place a long time ago. While our boys were sweating in T&T, the US 17's were regularly traveling and playing against top opposition in Europe, Middle East and Central America since last year. And to add further insult to injury, one of the top US players was denied to play for T&T....reasons I wont discuss on this forum!!

In any case I hope the T&T team does well given the circumstance and preparations.  :beermug:

Really ..... at what level under 17? or senior .....

who are these players btw

U17. He went home to try out and was told he  wasn't ready. Some weeks later he was on the US U17 team and is currently a key member of their setup. Go figure.  :beermug:

How long ado was that bredda, and who make that assessment? Now doubting you at all, I kinda expect this sorta thing from we football.

Then again who knows maybe he really wasn't ready and improved considerably enough to earn a US call-up :)

Fyzo the youth got called up to the US team merely months after T&T blank him. They been looking at him for some time now but they knew his first preference was T&T. When they heard he got blanked they went in search for him. Now he is a mainstay on their team!

Who make the assessment? Thats a great question you asking. That right there is one of the problems with T&T football. Same idiots making the same idiot decisions time and time again. :beermug:

« on: September 21, 2011, 07:24:57 PM »
North East drew 0-0 with Defence Force in a "friendly" tonite. However, it was nowhere near friendly! Both teams gave 100% and DF in particular were throwing very heavy tackles. Think a couple of DF players got yellows. Watching this, you wouldn't think the season is still 6 weeks away. Both teams look ready to go now, except for hitting the net ! DF definately missed Josling & Carter. NE also looked weak up front, despite playing Sean Fraser and Akiel Guevera as attacking mids with Jaggys brother as lone striker. Later, Anton Wolfe took the lone striker role, but for both teams the supply to strikers was poor. Of course, much of this could be down to strong defence and midfield!

North Easts' next test is against Joe Public on Saturday.

Any of you guys overseas can help with this??

T&T football is now officially DEAD!! Dreadful, Embarrassing And Depressing!

We are now officially the laughing stock of CONCACAF and that is no joke!
Plus no Caribbean teams are afraid to play us anymore as most used to in the past!!

This is what we should do to save our nation further embarrassment!

Divert all football funding (taxpayers money) to athletics until the following is done!

1. We should withdraw all our teams from all international tournaments forthwith for a year to give us enough time to sort our problems out!

2. Forget about qualifying for Brazil 2014, that's a wild fantasy!! We can't even make the Gold Cup right now and deserving so!

3. We need a new federation, Oliver needs to step down and Jack needs to resign as special advisor! His advice is counter-productive!

4. We need to hire proper coaches at all levels.

5. We need a TD who can implement a proper player development programme at all levels.

Until we can win a Caribbean Cup, make a Gold Cup & compete well against the likes of Mexico, USA & Costa Rica we should stop fantasising about even qualifying for a world cup and wasting taxpayers’ money hiring quick fix coaches who mainly looking for a holiday in the sun and a retirement cheque at T&T taxpayers expense!

I couldnt agree any further!!! :beermug:

Ive stayed away from posting for a while because Im disgusted with the state of trinidad and tobago football but watching those highlights confirmed for me we dont have a clue what it takes to be a power in world football anymore...and what is even more disappointing is that our administration doesnt have a clue either. I mean basic elements of the game were exposed in all of those five goals we conceded....and they going to move forward doing the same things on the senior level! pitiful is all i can say!!

Anyhow i wish them the best moving forward....where that is only time will tell. :beermug:

Bateau winner gives U-20s 2-1 win over Suriname.
By: Shaun Fuentes (TTFF).

Trinidad and Tobago’s Under 20 footballers dug deep to come from a goal down and finish the closing minutes a man short to secure a 2-1 victory over Suriname in the opening leg of their final Caribbean Football Union World Cup qualifier in Paramaribo on Friday night.

Captain Sheldon Bateau struck the winning goal in the 59th minute after Suriname got the go ahead goal after only 11 minutes. T&T found the going tough against a tricky Surinamese outfit that was eager to make good their home advantage in the opening match.

But T&T never allowed them to get too far in front and got a deserved equalizer on the stroke of half time from Joe Public midfielder Marcus Joseph.

But unlike their previous tie when they ran all over St Vincent/Grenadines, T&T had to pull out all the stops in this encounter. Eventually Bateau was on target but it was far from over as Ryan Fredericks was giving marching orders in the 82nd minute causing an intense closing to the keenly contested affair.

Defenders Joevin Jones and Akeem Adams who were making their first appearances for the campaign had it all to do at the back to ensure T&T didn’t give up the lead while goalkeeper John Thomas also held firm between the uprights.

At the final whistle, the young “Soca Warriors” were 2-1 winners and will be more than happy to have the final leg at home in the Marvin Lee Stadium on December 20.

Coach Zoran Vranes didn’t hesitate to credit his team’s opponents.

“I said before the match that I didn’t expect this game to be easy and Suriname proved me right. We had to work very hard for the victory tonight,” Vranes told TTFF Media.

“Suriname were very different to St Vincent and I’m pleased with the way we played to the end because this kind of match is important for my players if we are to go to the next stage in Concacaf because the competition there will be much tougher and tonight I saw my players hold on nicely for a victory.”

“We made it hard for ourselves in the closing minutes because of being a man short but this is how football is  sometimes.. .you must be ready to play under any circumstance and I saw us finish well enough to get the victory and that was most important for us here in Suriname.

Now we have to prepare for the next match in Trinidad and hopefully we will have a full squad available to prepare for it because I think it’s going to be another hard contest for us,” Vranes ended.

Once T&T come away victorious from this tie they will move on to the Concacaf Final Round in Guatemala next year towards the 2011 FIFA Under 20 World Cup in Colombia.

Final: - T&T 2 (Marcus Joseph 44, Sheldon Bateau 59) v Suriname 1 (11)

T&T Starting XI: John Thomas, Sheldon Bateau (capt), Akeem Adams, Dinell Lopez (Shahdon Winchester 70th), Kenaz Williams (Ryan Fredericks 64th - Red 82'), Akil Clarke, Joevin Jones, Dwight Ceballo, Marcus Joseph (Cordell Cato 78th), Johan Peltier, Jerrel Britto.

Unused Subs: - Jamaal Francois, Kevin Raymond, Weslie John.

Venue: - André-Kamperveen-Stadion, Paramaribo.

Remember that name! That youth Cordell aint no joke! :beermug:

TTFF needs an entire overall, from President Special Advisor come down. This Digicel tournament isn't entirely Latas fault! When GM collapse, they didnt fire the Managers...

A slight correction

Thanks Deeks for the correction! LOL! :beermug:

87
fordy,
I understand and share your frustration. However, a boycott/protest must have some sort of goal. There are all kinds of things that can be done

An editorial can be written and sent to all of the T&T media outlets
An ad can be created and run in the T&T daily newspapers and on radio
Videos can be created and uploaded to Youtube and sent to media outlets
A Facebook Group/Page/Cause/Petition can be created
Signatures can be collected
Billboards can be created
A placard protest can be held outside the TTFF, and continued at all national team games

De question is, what do you really want to achieve? Do you want change, or do you want to agitate, or both? If there is no commitment, then it would not be effective. If you do not have people on the ground in T&T participating, then it would not be effective. Basically, if a protest/boycott is not thought out, it would be easily dismissed, unless yup just want tuh cause ah scene.

Doh get tie up. Is only ah few people who really care what going on. Most people does jes respond tuh if we win or lorse ah game. So part of any effective protest/boycott in T&T football is educating de masses.

Tallman yuh talk real sense there, that's why I suggested we solicit the support of the general public. As far as my motive, I want change. I'm not wanting to do this just to stir stuff up. TTFF needs an entire overall, from President come down. This Digicel tournament isn't entirely Latas fault! When GM collapse, they didnt fire the Managers...they got rid of the CEO and banished the board of directors because of inept leadership! That's what accountability is about! Our football in the toilet since 2006...and even before that...and the same people running the show for 30 plus years now! As I said I'm prepared to do whatever I have to from my end...financially and otherwise! Someone made a good point earlier talking about finding investors....all well and good but I think the first course of action needs to be a unified campaign of supporters.....like us on this board as a starting point...to show enough is enough! Total boycott of everything TTFF and its sponsors!

88
I've been a member of this wonderful website for a number of years now and in my time here, I've seen so many positive things done through this site. From the different Christmas drives and donations to organising charity fete matches among members, thanks to Tallman and Flex (and many other contributors) this site has grown from strength to strength and has become a staple in the footballing fabric of T&T.

Having said that, I need to ask the moderators a very serious question. How serious are we, as die hard T&T football fans and football enthusiast (as well as players and coaches), about really affecting change in how the football is governed in T&T? Do you think this great Soca Warriors website is ready or in a position to or wants to be placed in a position where it becomes the vessel for change in how T&T football is currently being governed? Is this website strictly for venting our emotions when we as a public are continuosly disappointed for the better part of 4 years when decisions are made by those in power to drag our proud tradition of success in this sport we love through the mud? Or is this forum ready to be a champion for change and actually do what's necessary to affect some sort of change in the landscape that is T&T football?

The reason why I ask your stance on this is because we as proud supporters, and proud people of T&T don't deserve what these "elected officials" at the TTFF are doing with our beloved sport. If you don't believe me just take a glance at the threads currently dominating the board and also review our National team performances since our lone venture in the prestigous tournament known as the World Cup. It's embarassing to say the least and a slap in the face of proud citizens (both supporters and players). I would like to see this well respected and influential website and its members to actively begin a SERIOUS campaign to effect change in the TTFF.

One main suggestion would be to engage in a campaign of a total "blacklist" of all support for all T&T national representative teams...both male and female...from youth to senior level! When games are scheduled in T&T, the stadiums should be empty. All the corporate sponsors, their funds need to be withdrawn on all levels. This action should be in place until the TTFF President, its Executive Officers, its "Special Advisor", Head National Team Coach and is entire coaching staff resign from their respective posts effective immediately. No more will good citizens be footing the bill and fattening the pockets of these officials when they hold the success and pride of our beloved sport and National Teams at hostage!

So my question to the Moderators...is the Socawarriors.net website the vessel to champion this cause or are we going to continue to just sit by, come onto this site everyday and read about all the injustices that plague our football federation and subsequently affect negatively our respective team performances and type up our daily rants and vents as a result of frustration?

I'm willing to do whatever it takes, whether it means a financial contribution, physical contribution or whatever is necessary to see this out. However, it will take a unified effort hence why I await your response.

Thanks in advance for any consideration!

I cant get a response from any of the Moderators? What alyuh saying?
