As a Falkirk fan I would've loved to see Latas to play but Beenhakker aint no mug , he made a change after the sending off that most coaches would avoided yet he very nearly nicked a win out of it !

the shot of Beenhakker confidently smiling on the touch-line mid-way through the second half was one of the most endearing shots of a manager I have ever seen - RESPECT

Football / Dog for Falkirk ?
« on: March 23, 2006, 02:35:39 AM »
A Scottish newspaper mentions that Falkirk Manager John Hughes is keen to land Marvin Andrews when his contract runs out at Rangers in the summer . 'Yogi' sees Marvin as a possible solution to Falkirk's problems in central defence .

The Sun goes on to claim that fellow countryman Russell Latapy would play a big part in enticing him to Falkirk ... and I though Latas would retire after Germany  ???

The atricle goes on the state that Bleeder has a good chance of featuring on Saturday after impressing in the reserves .

3 Bairns at The World Cup , ah love it !

Latas scored today at home against Rangers - looked offside but took it well .

Bleeder and Dog both on their respective benches .

Bleeder wasn't even on the bench yesterday for our game against Hibernian , acording to our manager John Hughes Densill is still 'settling in'  :-\

Latas played well though  ;)

Latas is on the bench ... and about time too .

Bleeder not even in the squad , word is he had a poor game against Rangers reserves ... maybe Real Madrid should wait a bit longer  :-\

he didn't play yesterday , the team played out of their skins - Latas played better than he has been but missed a good chance to settle the game late on , I reckon Bleeder would've featured if we had gone behind -

our next game is at home against Ross County (from Division 1) in the Cup , I'm sure Bleeder will get a run out then .

incidently - I met Bleeder in a Falkirk bar last night , he was out with some of the younger guys from the Falkirk team - he's a really nice fella although I know he didn't have a clue what I was talking about . pretty sure he wasn't drinking  ;)
wait wait would drinking have helped him understand you  at all?
to be honest I was probably pretty incoherent to most people

Put it this way. If a Trinidad international said he was more concerned about something like....I dunno maybe playing for their club rather than their country I'm sure you would be pissed. Just in the same way that a die hard Falkirk fan would feel betrayed by comments like that. It's not the most offensive thing ever but it is quite ungratefull to a good club who are offering him a chance at a decent level. The SPL isn't all that bad.
like I've already said , Densill's comments have largly been put down to nievity on his part by myself the majority of fans I've spoken to about the 'incident' .

having read through the comments can I just add a bit of background to the clip -

There's a very popular Saturday morning football programme on British TV called SoccerAM , one of the regular features is the Crossbar Challenge which features a different British team every week .

How many of allyuh actually went and read the comments of the Falkirk fans before mouthing off?

Ned...what do you think?

Is this the end of Densill's career as some are forecasting?   :rotfl:

Anyone I've spoken to about it has just shook their head in mock disbelief , I think it's being seen as a bit of nievity on his part .

Apparenty he made the comments at a press conference which was held to welcome Falkirk's three new signings - Bleeder was sitting in the middle of the three and when he said the bit about Falkirk being a stepping stone the other two guys hid behind their hands . I've also been told the comment about straight back to Trinidad was made by someone other than Densill .

Hey Brother- Let the Foot do the talking , then everyone will be talking.
Keep ambition under cover- English fans can be cruel, and will call your play RUBBISH very early as after that interview they will be looking for something special.
do you have any idea how big an insult that is  :-\

Football / Re: Theobold sets sights higher

I'd like to have heard Bleeder say it rather than read it , he could've said that with a bit of humour and it wouldn't carry over to a written quote - he saves a lot of face by adding "or I could be straight back to Trinidad."

Densill's made the right move , he'll get a game at Falkirk and if he's good enough he'll earn a move we know that , I'd much rather he said "hopefully this will be good for both myself and Falkirk , I'd like to do enough to earn a move to England"

incidently , in addition to the link to the Falkirk board above you'll get a fair bit if info here Pie and Bovril it's an SPL board but the locals are outnumbered by Falkirk supporters .

there are a few relevant threads , including - Denzil Theobold, work permit........

Falkirk are screaming out for a decent defender - has he been involved in any of the recent International games ?

i think he is better than falkirk
no disrespect to them but then so is latapy
Latapy had a stinker at Dundee Utd but he's enjoying his football at Falkirk and this has resulted in a return to form - on his day he's still one of the most influential players in the SPL but he still has off days - especially since T&T qualified for the WC - I reckon he has benifited from playing at this level .

This from the Evening News - 10 minutes ago

Quote
FORMER Manchester United star Dwight Yorke could be set for a dramatic switch to Falkirk.
The Champions League winner will head off to Germany this summer with Trinidad and Tobago and needs to stay in shape for the tournament.
The 34-year-old is currently contracted to Sydney FC, but is believed to want competitive football before the World Cup Finals begin.
His close friend and international team-mate Russell Latapy is already a key player with John Hughes' side. Club Chairman Campbell Christie admitted that capturing Yorke is an ambition. A delegation from Falkirk saw Trinidad's World Cup play-off and spoke to a number of players, including Yorke.
"Other clubs may have more money to spend than Falkirk, but we are very close to the Trinidad football scene," said Christie.
"It will be up to John Hughes, but Dwight Yorke is someone I am sure we would be interested in bringing to Falkirk. I certainly would not rule it out.
"Chris Waddle and Mo Johnston signed for Falkirk, so why not?"
One player who will be joining the club in January is 23-year-old Trinidad midfielder Denzil Theobald.
Hughes doesn't envisage any problems securing a work permit for the player who is expected to sign an 18-month contract.
