Pretty respectable time there for S.S.

I know its still easy in the season, but Ato i don't think the coaching change is going to affect Wariner at all. This is not what you would consider a regular coaching change, as he doesn't have to go through all the things an athlete normally has to go through when chnaging coaches. He doesn't have to worry about moving, new training partners, getting accustomed to a new coach and most importantly new workouts. The only thing that is really changing for Wariner is the time he has to show up for practice and the voice that will be yelling at him. You moust remember that Ford is the one that recruited him and was helping to coach him up until 2005, so I don't think you will be seeing a drop in performance and 43.18 is still on very shaky ground.

Keston Bledman just jogged 10.29 to win his heat, with Asafa right behind, who was also jogging.

Burns just got a bullet start and looked real good. Shuting it down to run 10.22 and coming 3rd.

Alright now, I am going out to take a  :beermug:. Hopefully i will be in a proper state of mind to give results when the q-finlas start at 7:15 a.m.

What about Track & Field / A proud day for T&T Track and field
« on: June 17, 2007, 10:01:59 PM »
Well this maybe old news to some, but i see that the NAAA finally has a respectable looking website. The site is still under construction, but isn't looking too bad, considering it is only 1 week old. If maintained and updated properly, it has the ability to become the best national track and field website in the caribbean.

So with no further ado, drum rolllll please............. http://www.naaatt.org/

P.S. Ato, I know your mouth have some power, so keep pressure on whoever has to maintain this site. Anytime you see it lacking just make a little stink in the papers and I am sure it will be fixed instantly...........lol. ;D

Look at the difference 1 year makes. Last year Brown was in the "B" races and Marc the "A". Now it switch.

P.S. Ato, Darrel might get dragged along to his "first" ;D sub-10 tomorrow. :rotfl:

Here is the start list for the 100m
100 METERS
Michael Frater (Jamaica)
Leonard Scott
Darrel Brown (Trinidad)
Churandy Martina (Netherland Antilles)
Marc Burns (Trinidad)
Bernard Williams
Trell Kimmons
Mark Jelks

Expect the  race to be close, with the first 4 people on that list. This is the race that marc has to show me that he still has his stuff together. Anything slower that 10.20 will be unacceptabe.

For those of you who are in the states or Canada the meet starts at 4:00 p.m. EDT, which is also the same time for Trindad. It is showing on NBC. Everybody in Canada and US have that channel, not to sure bout trini.

Semi-Finals

  2 Walter Dix                JR Florida State            10.13Q  1.8  2
  3 Michael LeBlanc           FR Syracuse                 10.17Q  1.8  1
  4 Richard Thompson          JR LSU                      10.23Q  1.8  2
  5 Orlando Reid              SR M. Tenn. St.             10.19Q  1.8  1
  6 Rubin Williams            JR Tennessee                10.27Q  1.8  2 10.265
  7 Greg Bolden               SR Florida State            10.22Q  1.8  1
  8 Travis Padgett            SO Clemson                  10.27Q  1.8  2 10.269
9 Michael Ray Garvin        SO Florida State            10.24q  1.8  1

Well Richard had to set a PR in order to make it to the finals, improving on his previous 10.27. He is the only surving trini besides Rhonda Watkins in these NCAA championships. Hopefully he can pull an upset Friday in the finals and get a medal, most likely of the bronze colour.

It seems that Kelly-Ann has not recovered from her injury as she only managed 11.43 in the semi-finals. Hopefully she has enough left in her tank to win TT Nationals, and the she could spend the rest of the summer getting healthy and possibly taking a shot at making the finals in Osaka. She has already made the IAAF "A" standard for the 100m
