I find that list should include

David Villa..... He just dred

Diego..... Voted best player of the bundesliga last season and Klose and Lahm make that list.... What de ass

Kanoute / Daniel Alves....  Leads Sevilla to another Uefa Cup and they win Copa Del Rey

Ibra..... When Inter had there historic run he was in form

Totti..... Totti was top-scorer in Serie A and he was European Golden Boot Winner ....don't understand  how Torres, Tevez and Etoo can be shortlisted but not Totti. Henry Injured most of last season and i can't find any judgement how Marquez make that list.

I know Buffon is a world class keeper but he was in Seria B and Cannavaro had a awful season  last year.

If he takes a few penalites can see him bagging three otherwise not likely he might score more than one this season he continues to play the role he is playing so far.

Fergie Hints At Loan Departures

Sir Alex Ferguson has hinted a number of his budding Manchester United stars will go out on loan following the club's Carling Cup exit to Coventry.
The Red Devils boss had earmarked the competition for a number of squad players to garner additional first-team experience.
However, following the 2-0 defeat to Coventry at Old Trafford, Ferguson believes some youngsters will have to depart due to the competition for places at United.
Ferguson has stated the likes of Gerard Pique and Danny Simpson could be utilised by the first team, leaving the likes of Jonny Evans, Chris Eagles, Lee Martin and Dong Fangzhou open to leaving.
"They've not had enough football as a team," he said on Sky Sports News. "We looked at the League Cup as an avenue for these players to play in.
"Now that's gone I think we'll have to review the situation with one or two of them going on loan, because they do need football.
"With (Gary) Neville and (Owen) Hargreaves coming back we've got a good strong squad. There'll have to be some that we have to keep.
"Pique was excellent on Wednesday. He was our best player along with Anderson. We'll probably keep Simpson as he can play both full-back positions.
"But I'm maybe looking at the rest going on loan as they need to play football." Meanwhile, Ferguson believes his side's 2-0 success over Chelsea last weekend was overshadowed by referee Mike Dean's decisions.
The Blues found themselves a man light following John Obi Mikel's dismissal, however, Fergie thinks Carlos Tevez's goal before half-time was the game-breaker.
"I don't think that we got the press that we deserved really," he continued.
"I think it was clouded by the fact that the sending-off seemed to cost them the game. I don't think so.
"I think the goal at half-time cost them the game. Thereafter we were in complete control of the match.
"To my mind they had one shot at goal from (Andriy) Shevchenko which was about a yard over the bar

General Discussion / Shock at archbishop condom claim
« on: September 26, 2007, 11:53:31 AM »
The head of the Catholic Church in Mozambique has told the BBC he believes some European-made condoms are infected with HIV deliberately.
Maputo Archbishop Francisco Chimoio claimed some anti-retroviral drugs were also infected "in order to finish quickly the African people".

The Catholic Church formally opposes any use of condoms, advising fidelity within marriage or sexual abstinence.

Aids activists have been angered by the remarks, one calling them "nonsense".

"We've been using condoms for years now, and we still find them safe," prominent Mozambican Aids activist Marcella Mahanjane told the BBC.

The UN says anti-retrovirals (ARVs) have proved very effective for treating people with Aids. The drugs are not a cure, but attack the virus on several fronts at once.

The BBC's Jose Tembe in the capital, Maputo, says it is estimated that 16.2% of Mozambique's 19m inhabitants are HIV positive.

About 500 people are infected every day.

'Serious matter'

Archbishop Chimoio told our reporter that abstention, not condoms, was the best way to fight HIV/Aids.

Condoms are one of the best manners of getting protection against catching Aids

Aids activist Gabe Judas

"Condoms are not sure because I know that there are two countries in Europe, they are making condoms with the virus on purpose," he alleged, refusing to name the countries.

"They want to finish with the African people. This is the programme. They want to colonise until up to now. If we are not careful we will finish in one century's time."

Aids activists in the country have been shocked by the archbishop's comments.

"Condoms are one of the best ways of getting protection against catching Aids," said Gabe Judas, who runs Tchivirika (Hard Work) - an theatre group that promotes HIV/Aids awareness.

"People must use condoms as it's a safe way of having sex without catching Aids," he told the BBC.

Archbishop Chimoio, who made the remarks at celebrations to mark 43 years of independence, said that fighting the disease was a serious matter.

"If we are joking with this sickness we will be finished as soon as possible.

"If we want to change the situation to face HIV/Aids it's necessary to have a new mentality, if we don't change mentality we'll be finished quickly," he said.

"It means marriage, people being faithful to their wives... (and) young people must be abstaining from sexual relations."

Our correspondent says the archbishop is well respected in the country and the Catholic Church played a leading role in sponsoring the 1992 peace deal that ended a 16-year civil war.

Some 17.5% of Mozambicans are Catholic.

Football / Carlos targets Blackburn
« on: September 22, 2007, 11:40:43 AM »
Carlos Edwards hopes to be fit for Sunderland's home test with Blackburn next week.
The influential winger has played only once this season but was healthy enough to take part with the rest of the squad in their midweek activity day.
Today's Tees-Wear derby was just too soon for the Trinidad & Tobago star – a major force during last season's rise to the Championship title – and he's busting to take out his frustration on Rovers next Saturday.
Edwards said: "At this stage, I would like to think I might be ready for the Blackburn Rovers game. Hopefully I will, but we just have to wait and see – and be careful.
"I won't force myself to be fit when I'm not 100 per cent fit. I don't think that is going to do anyone any good.
"I want to make sure that when I do come back I come back well."
Edwards was hindered by hamstring trouble in pre-season and it returned as he featured in the Black Cats' 2-2 draw at Birmingham in the opening week of the campaign.
Though Roy Keane's side has looked solid and competitive in the last couple games, there is no doubt that the former Luton winger's creativity, energy and eye for a goal has been missed.
He added: "It is good to see the players performing the way they are without me. It shows that they can fill the gaps which can arise when players like me and Dean (Whitehead) are out of it.
"I was really looking forward to getting involved in the Premiership and felt I made a decent start in the first couple of games, but these things happen.
"It is frustrating, but it's just part of the game and though it is hard to do, you have to get the right balance between coming back safely as well as coming back quickly."

Both goals sounded explosive...

and kj get the credit for the assis on miller, as he headed the ball down to him before he blast it in

He get benched just so or he injuried?

Naps real good, i wouldn't lie and Benedict's is real shit. We need to get more physical players, stop playing players out of position and a solid goal keeper who especially know how to set a wall. I heard a former player coaching benedicts so i don't know how good he is as a coach.

Football / Latapy at centre of racism probe
« on: September 16, 2007, 07:42:47 AM »
Falkirk midfielder Russell Latapy hopes that anyone who racially abused him during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Hibernian will learn from their errors.
The club have confirmed police were investigating an incident, although there has been no further comment.

"We have to take it in our stride and hopefully the people involved will learn from what they did," said Latapy.

"We have to try and make the situation better and try to cut out the whole racial situation in football."

Reports suggest five people were questioned by police officers.

And a club statement read: "An incident occurred which is currently under investigation by Central Scotland Police.

"Falkirk Football Club along with other SPL football clubs have published a code of 'unacceptable behaviour'.

"The incident was dealt with in accordance with this code."

Latapy, 39, is a former Trinidad & Tobago international and has played in Scotland for Hibs, Rangers and Dundee United before his move to Falkirk in 2003.

"It is unfortunate in this day and age that things like that can still happen but it's all part and parcel of the beautiful game," added the veteran playmaker.
