How does promotion and relegation work in this league? How will zonal balance be maintained next season?

At the 2006WC a Mexican fan traded his kit for my Yorke 19, and I does still sweat small goal in it sometimes... Added to that I worked a few months in Leon, Mexico some years ago, so El Tri is my second team in CONCACAF... But I agree with the others on the list

I guess as well the Mexican referee who sent off the Honduran last evening was biased against Trinidad...??? Or did this thread simply have its genesis from some Fans who were disgruntled with TnT's opening two games?

these spanish ppl is not to be trusted, they have no integrity and bc of their prejudices they could be swayed or bought easily.

1. Mods, isn't this a racist statement? Suppose I post "these black/indian/white people are not to be trusted because they have no integrity"?

2. Perhaps things may come into perspective if we calculate the ratio of the population of Central America and the Spanish-speaking Caribbean to the non-Spanish-speaking Caribbean.

Gold Cup draw: Warriors pull Haiti, Honduras and El Salvador
By Editor (Wired868)

There are 12 nations in the Gold Cup finals, which kicks off on 7 July 2013 at the Rose Bowl. But only three will be eliminated in the first round while nine teams will progress to the quarterfinal stage.

Tell me again how 9 teams can qualify for the Quarter Finals?

Football / Nice midfielder hander 11-match ban for tackle
« on: March 08, 2013, 02:35:49 AM »
Not Nice!

http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1366496/nice's-valentin-eysseric-handed-11-match-suspension?cc=3888

Nice midfielder Valentin Eysseric has been suspended for the remainder of the season following his horror leg-breaking tackle on Jeremy Clement of St Etienne last weekend.

Eysseric was shown a straight red card following the incident, which left Clement with a fractured fibula. The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) subsequently handed Eysseric an 11-match ban on Thursday evening, ruling him out of the rest of the campaign.

"Valentin Eysseric, who was sent off at St Etienne last weekend, was suspended for 11 games by the French Professional League's (LFP) disciplinary committee," a Nice statement read. "The player will therefore not play again this season."

Clement, 28, faces up to six months of rehabilitation after undergoing successful surgery on his leg. Eysseric has apologised for his actions and already confirmed he would not appeal the punishment handed down by the LFP.

In quotes reported by L'Equipe, Eysseric said: "I explained my feelings and my actions. They all listened. I have nothing to say about the penalty, it is their decision."

Are you still training in Pres College Chag grounds? They have a thriving Alumni who basically have the backing of the Central business community.. Why not partner with the College to help them improve their School team / take some of their players into your junior teams, in exchange for some Alumni funding?

Cristiano Ronaldo congratulates Lionel Messi on winning his fourth Ballon d’Or

Dear Lionel,

I am writing you this note to offer my congratulations on winning the Ballon d'Or. Again. As you can see by the look on my face, I am very happy for you. Please forgive me for not congratulating you at the gala, but since I am so tall and statuesque and you are so tiny and maintain terrible posture, I couldn't find you in the crowd. Also, since someone played a joke on you by telling you to wear that garish spotted jacket and tie, I didn't want to keep you from getting home and changing your clothes as fast as you possibly could. That's how thoughtful I am.

It was another tremendous year for me, and, supposedly, for you as well. You had to set a world record in order to score more goals than me. Of course, smart people know that team accomplishments are far more important than personal achievements and I helped my club to win La Liga in 2012 whereas you only helped your club win the Copa del Rey. The year my club only won the Copa del Rey, I did not win the Ballon d'Or. I suppose this just shows that voters hold me to a higher standard than you.

Anyway, you have now won the Ballon d'Or a record four times in row. I guess you're happy about that. Yet, Andy Gray, England's most respected sexist broadcaster, has questioned whether you could play well on a cold night in Stoke. After all, you have only won titles for one club, whereas I have won titles for clubs in La Liga and the Premier League. But very few players have the physical talent and mental strength to prove themselves on different teams and in different leagues, so you should only feel a little bit bad about that.

People are always trying to compare you and I, but there really is no comparison. Yes, we were both named after Americans -- I was named after Ronald Reagan, a talented actor and two-term president, whereas you were named after Lionel Richie, a man who sang about dancing on the ceiling. Which is both impossible and patently ridiculous. I impregnated a woman and created a child in 2010, but it took you until 2012 to figure out how to do those things. I grew tall and strong naturally and you needed enough growth hormones to make even Lance Armstrong feel guilty in order to be neither of those things. Also, I wear proper tuxedos to formal events while you wear a suit made out of clown pants. So comparing us is both silly and unfair.

In conclusion, I congratulate you, Leo. But remember: No matter how many Ballon d'Or awards you win, I still won it first.

Confidently yours,

Cristiano Ronaldo

P.S. My apologies for writing this letter in English, one of several languages I am able to speak, when I know you only speak Spanish. Maybe Gerard Pique will translate it for you.

Warriors into Caribbean Cup finals
Published:
Monday, November 19, 2012

T&T’s Soca Warriors advanced to next month’s Caribbean Cup finals without kicking a ball, after the first match of the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet, double-header, yesterday resulted in a 1-0 victory for Suriname over St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Despite the win, which came as a result of a converted penalty from Suriname’s captain and custodian Ronny Aloema in the latter stages of the first half, neither team was able to advance, leaving the other two teams in its group T&T and Cuba to scrap for top spot in the night’s second match, despite both teams progressing. T&T lost 1-0 to Cuba, who topped the group with T&T finishing second.

Cuba’s goal came in the 28th minute through Artulo Guerra.

Congrats FS, let's hope through the Sharks we may see a resurgence of fans at domestic games

Thanks. But I really at a loss at how to stimulate interest. Maybe it will come in time, but with W.Conn playing as well, this really should have had 2,000 plus at the stadium. But, hey, yuh gotta keep trying!!

Have two-for-one drink specials in the stadium and advertise it as an after work lime...

Sad day indeed! But anyone here really thinks T&T was going to win the Digicel Cup, or much less make a note in the Gold Cup if qualified? Obvious politricks aside, from a Business standpoint it makes sense... Why throw half a million down the drain? Let Gov't and Corporate T&T pump money instead to an Under 17 program...

By Dermot Corrigan, ESPN, Sanchez Pizjuan

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/feature/_/id/1176000/corrigan:-everything-falling-into-place-for-barca-boss-vilanova?&cc=3888

The anger at the final whistle inside Sevilla's Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan was palpable. While Barcelona's players celebrated a last gasp 3-2 comeback victory on the pitch, home coach Michel grimaced in disgust from the stands, unrepeatable chants aimed at referee Mateu Lahoz rang around the ground and Sevilla's players lamented two key late decisions that they felt had gone Barca's way: a red card for a supposed head-butt by Gary Medel on Cesc Fabregas at 2-1 in Barca's favour with less than 20 minutes remaining and a possible handball by Barca's Thiago Alcantara that was ignored by the officials before Barca's 89th minute equaliser.

Sunday morning's local papers echoed this rage. 'Nervion does not give up points, they were robbed,' screamed the cover of Sunday morning's Estadio Deportivo. 'From scandal to scandal,' was El Correo de Andalucia's front-page headline.

Barca midfielder Fabregas was at the centre of the storm, not for his two finely taken goals but because TV replays suggested that he at least made the most of what contact there had been from the Chilean midfielder's forehead. When pressed to explain live on Spanish TV by Canal Plus reporter Ricado Sierra, Cesc retorted: "If you want, I'll do it to you and you can tell me if it's a red card." This looked the reaction of someone who knew he had done wrong but did not want to admit it.

Just to add some fuel to this interesting debate - Central FC has negotiated to use Presentation College Chaguanas as their training base... Hon. Jack Warner's alma mata!

Considering the investment that He has made directly and indirectly over the last few years at the College, can we say that Central FC is using Minister Warner's facilities?  ;)

Well, I'm not sure that anyone, including a Minister can take ownership of the College, but suffice to say that Mr Sancho and Central F.C. are pleased to be benefitting from Mr Warners generosity and fully intend to reciprocate by refurbishing the changing room facilities.
