Any thoughts on Sanogo's performance?

I thought he put in a good shift. Did well. Was insistent. Was involved in a pivotal moment. Let's see how he progresses? Too early to anoint him.

Agreed. Somebody pointed out to me his touch real raw which I didn't notice at the time but was just interested in seeing how he did since I haven't seen much of him. Decent start though.

Battling performance from the Gunners. Pool missed some good chances and really had a solid penalty denied for Ox's foul on Suarez. Of course Gerrard had enough fouls to be sent off twice so it evens out. Nice to see the Arsenal grinding out wins like this for a change.

Could always count on you to come with some excuse/b.s. justification in Arsenal's favor.  You seriously arguing that a red card denied "evens out" a penalty denied?  That doesn't even make sense.  Podolski had a cynical two-footed tackle on Flanagan from behind, with no attempt whatsoever to play the ball.  He was mad that in his mind he was just fouled 5 feet away and petulantly took it out on Flanagan.  Two-footed tackle from behind is a straight red... he get a yellow.  That doh even it out?  What about the mad man tackles that Flamini was pelting... yet he only get a yellow for taking out Gerrard on a contested head ball... that doh even out?  And what about Monreal raking down the back of Allen's achilles... and standing on the back of the man ankle.  He only get a yellow for that... none of that "evens out"?  I refuse to take you seriously.  Enjoy de win Webb give allyuh, but spare we de bullshit please.

Bakes, yuh like a cry baby... I remember being called that when worse treatment were meted out to our players.... We due some luck, and it could be karma ;D  ;D

Hey, that was a blatant PK when Vidic push your man to the ground. I am convince it would have been a goal scoring opportunity if he was not infringe on.
I thought so but I wasn't sure the ref could see it. Arsenal missed enough chances to win the game so I not going to complain about a possible penalty.

Two points dropped!! I don't get it with Wenger. Giroud needs help, Ozil is drained, and the game plan is to predictable for opposing teams. This side is beyond belief!!

I don't think Wenger's plan didn't work. Arsenal had enough chances to win the game. The players just didn't take their chances. Giroud continues to frustrate in the big games. The only UCL contending sides he seems to be able to score against are Sp*rs and Liverpool.

let's see y'all response. Don't forget Man United was wounded over the weekend too.

Yeah. This is a tough game, regardless of whether United is struggling, they have not become a bad team overnight. They still have some top class attackers who can hurt anybody. But anything less than an Arsenal win will be very disappointing.

All the top 3 have weaknesses this season. This race go be tight for a while. City's depth is exaggerated once you stop looking at their attack, Chelsea too dependent on Hazard and Oscar and Arsenal struggling in big games. That's why nobody can pull away from the rest.

"Maybe the teams not in the top four will be very influential in the league," he said.

"Normally, people are pushed to say Chelsea against Arsenal, or Arsenal against City, or Liverpool against City. These are the matches that decide things. But maybe they aren't. In other leagues, it is like that. Madrid v Barcelona decides the title. Benfica v Porto decides the title. It's not the same situation here. The title is decided match after match. Every game is important. If we don't win tomorrow, it's not just about the title contenders to jump to the leadership again. It's also about Tottenham to win, Everton to win, and closing also the gap. At this moment, every point is important."

The mid week games this week will make a huge difference.
Indeed. Arsenal has to respond against United. 3 points are a must. This title race is a dogfight.

That is by far the worst Arsenal performance I have seen since the 4-0 at Milan. The amazing thing is, Szczesny was Arsenal's best player today. Defence hang him out to dry today and he saved the shots he could. Oh well. Pick yourselves up. Still plenty points to play for. I think we will have to beat Chelsea and City now though.

 :rotfl: :rotfl:
Keep laughing. We get licks today but doh feel it cyah happen.

It could happen but probably not this season. Improbable?! With specific respect to City especially.

We have to be smarter about it. Play on the break in big games. Not push hard, especially at the start of the match. We only a point out of first. City will be coming to Emirates too. They are a totally different side from the juggernaut at home. Chelsea will be favourites at Stamford Bridge in March but all of the top 3 have serious flaws so there's still all to play for. All of Arsenal's remaining matches are quite winnable. Just have to handle their business.

if they continue to loose the "big games" that title gone.....to quote bitter alyuh getting bull by d other "big teams" ,dat cant be good...........the trend has been do well in d "big games", win the league...........how many of the those have u won.

We were top after losing to United and City in first half of the season. None of the other big teams is consistent enough for the big games to make the difference.

Chelsea has Beaten Man City twice, tied Arsenal, tied Man United, beat Man United and beat Liverpool. We have Arsenal at the Bridge and with our result at home it does not look to good for alyuh getting 3 points. Then we have Liverpool at Anfield, well that is up in the air right now.

So what were you saying about being inconsistent.
Consistent means against the smaller sides too. Drawing West Ham, losing to Stoke and Newcastle. I'm saying unless they improve their consistency in the league, the big games won't make much difference. Who knows, they have been on a run recently. If it continues they will make it. If it doesn't they won't. Plenty football left to play. Arsenal have struggled in big games but have been very efficient with weaker sides since the opening day loss to Villa. That's why they have been at or near the top most of the season.

might well be...but chelsea has seen a massive improvement in form we could pull away even man city might ketch back deyself

True. But so can Arsenal. After each of their 3 previous defeats they went on long runs of good performance.

Arsenal should give Bacary Sagna a new three-year deal

It is an age which seems to set alarm bells ringing at Arsenal and particularly with Arsene Wenger. As soon as you get over 30, it becomes an issue.

The big question is whether Sagna, one of the best right backs in the Premier League, should be given a new long term contract. Arsenal have offered Sagna a new two year contract. Sagna wants three years as it is probably going to be the last big deal of his career.

In my opinion, Sagna is worth that three year contract. But, down the years, Wenger has shied away from giving 30-somethings long-term deals. Even the great Dennis Bergkamp had to go year by year in the latter stages of his career.

It was also the case for William Gallas and defensive veterans before him. In recent seasons, Wenger has softened his stance a little. He seems willing to bend and give defenders two years rather than just one.

But now comes another test. Sagna wants three years, knows he can get that elsewhere and is seriously tempted to leave the club. Galatasaray, clubs in the Middle East, Paris Saint Germain and Monaco are all interested in him and would be willing to give him a good contract.

Sagna has been fiercely loyal and consistent for Arsenal. When big clubs have come calling for other players, they left. The likes of Robin van Persie, Kolo Toure and Samir Nasri. Sagna had advances from Manchester City, but stayed put.

Sagna was overlooked for the captaincy, has been on similar wages throughout his Arsenal career and wants one last big deal. He has been excellent this season -- getting forward, defending well, showing a great level of consistency and also proving that the past couple of years and a few injuries are behind him.

The French defender has shown loyalty to Arsenal and now, in my view, it is time they repaid that loyalty.

Also, if the decision comes down to just finances, then how much it would cost to purchase a quality replacement, give him big wages and hope he can anywhere near as good as Sagna.

But if you do the math then Sagna -- even on a three year deal -- would be much better value than a big money replacement. Indeed, you won’t find a more loyal, committed player -- that, in itself, deserves to be rewarded.

So while Wenger and the money men work out the latest offer as they negotiate again, I hope they see good sense. Three more years.

Why don't they also say Wenger has shown loyalty to Sagna and he should sign the new offer? Loyalty is a 2 way street.

I like Sagna but if he starts to deteriorate physically then he could end up being a real liability. Last few seasons he was the only world class defender at Arsenal but he isn't irreplaceable. A 2 season deal is fair. Probably pay him more but 3 seasons for a 31 year old fullback is a big risk. Look how fast Maicon disappear into the wilderness.

So nobody address the Kim Kallstrom transfer?  Worst transfer of the window!!!
Wenger has to be a little bit crazy.
Wenger bawl Kallstrom is cover for Ramsey and Wilshere and whoever is injured now.
Only for the public to find out that Kallstrom is unavailable for around 6 weeks due to an injury that Arsenal knew about!
 :rotfl: :rotfl:

Didn't Wenger explain this in an interview already? Twice? *shrug*

Sacking Laudrup is craziness.

Apparently he and the board fell out before the season started. I don't think it is a performance issue. Man 5 best players injured. There must be recognition of that.

I think we have an easier run in once we could stay closeto the top thru March. And we will have enough options in midfield to cope. We got through the Group of Death ok. It go be hard but the most I worried about is going to Stamford Bridge. I wouldn't be too upset about getting knocked out of UCL by Bayern. We can go for that next year when we get the top class striker we need. League is my priority this season.

Allyuh gettin bobolize in de Bridge.  Is too bad Moyes strugglin so bad oddawize ah woulda say fear ManU especially after Jose put ah arm rong Moyes shoulder and give him Mata.  If we eh win ah wouldn mind seein allyuh misery end but dat eh go be dis year doh lol

Maybe. I think Chelsea will give us enough chances to put some space between them and Arsenal. Still more worried about City than them.

Just the way we like it.  I hope nobody eh scared ah we.  That title coming to the Bridge this year, watch and see.  People could talk any amount ah shit dey want, but the mor JM gets comfortable with the squad playing the way he likes the more he will let them loose.  I doh know what game man was watchin yesterday but it had no bus park nowhere.  JM likes his entire team to be defensively aware and that is exactly what occurred.  Matic did well to keep the engine under a lot of pressure and we used our pace on the break very well.  JM know's MP style so he had the perfect gameplan lined up and went into the mighty Etihad and walk out with 3 points and a clean sheet to boot.  Who eh like it fack dem!

Who said anything about park bus? I just said I more worried about City than Chelsea. Chelsea was the better side yesterday and deserve their win. I ent say nutten bout that. I just think over a season, City is more dangerous than Chelsea. That's why they have been favourites all year and they have been on our tails or until recently, in first. Chelsea is a good side. I just think that overall, City is better.

Nah dah bus tawk was ah general statement not attributed to you.  Ah shoulda separate it.

I doh mind dat outlook because city is the only team that raise my eyebrows an dem.  No disrespect to your team but with dat brutal month of March schedule allyuh have I eh worryin about allyuh bein ah obstacle to we winnin it.
