And hate the team because they support a rival or because they think we get away with stuff and Fergie is a bully, ect., ect.

I doh know. To be more hated than Royal Bank of Scotland, a company that ruined the lives of thousands of people, is one hell of an achievement. As is being even more smug than the players who actually wear the uniform and do the work.

Arsenal goalkeeping problems continue as Jens Lehmann has disaster of a comeback in reserves against Wigan
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/8414096/Arsenal-goalkeeping-problems-continue-as-Jens-Lehmann-has-disaster-of-a-comeback-in-reserves-against-Wigan.html

Jens Lehmann, on the evidence of his first game for Arsenal in almost three years, in the reserves against Wigan, is unlikely to prove the solution to Arsenal's goalkeeper problems.

Lehmann's lack of match practice was exposde throughout his first apperance for Arsenal since he was coaxed out of retirement to answer Arsene Wenger's emergency call.

A few mintues into the first half he was inches away from conceding an embarrassing own goal, miscueing the ball as he tried to clear a backpass.

Fortunately for him, the ball bounced narrowly wide of the post, but it was a less than auspicious way to resume a career which officially ended last June.

Lehmann was caught short again in the 52nd minute, when Callum McManaman put the home side ahead after racing clear of the Arsenal defence and slotting confidently past the keeper as he advanced from his line.

A few minutes later Lehmann was caught out of position in the area, allowed Jonathan Breeze to fire past him only to see the effort blocked on the goal line.

Joe Holt added a second in the 83rd minute from close range before Rhys Murphy pulled one back for Arsenal from the penalty spot on the stroke of full-time.

Lehmann was on the bench at the Emirates for Arsenal's Premier League game against West Brom 10 days ago, where a blunder from Manuel Almunia allowed the visitors to escape with a point.

That led to speculation that Lehmann might even replace the error-prone Spaniard - who effectively ended Lehmann's Arsenal career when he displaced him in 2008 - at the top of the club's goalkeeping pecking order in the absence of the injured Wojciech Szczescny and Lucasz Fabianksi.

On today's evidence, however, Almunia, whatever his faults, is still the best option Arsenal have.

Ramires has been pretty playing well from long before he scored that gem.  I wouldn't expect that sorta thing from him too often though- it's not his game.  He started off really shaky and everyone got on his back... but he settled a while ago, and has been putting in a good shift.  For Brazil I always found him inconsistent...and I guess it's the same for Chelsea, but he's getting better, and the fans are getting behind him...so it should only be upward for him...As a fan of Brazil I've been hoping for him to do well...

As for David Luiz - wow! He looks to have the full package of potential...with maturity he can be the next Lucio...(i.e. a complete and very skilled center back)...

Yeah ah real late...now come back from vacation ;D

is vacation yuh say dey? congratulations boss  :beermug:
Yeah, ditto and welcome back.  :beermug:

But Luiz have a way to go before he reach Lucio status. His tackling nowhere near clean enough.

Manchester United voted 'most hated company in Britain'
Manchester United are the most hated company in the UK, more so than banks, utility companies or budget airlines, it is claimed.

The results of an online survey of more than 1,000 people, conducted by Online Opinions, show that the side built by Sir Alex Ferguson is the most hated firm in Britain.

No other football team is anywhere near as detested as the Red Devils, which secured 26 per cent of the overall vote, as the success, power and huge worldwide following were cited as major reasons for aggrieving football fans.

Man United owners the Glazer family may not be happy to hear that they run the most hated firm in the country.

The American businessmen are already battling discontent from their own fans, with many upset that the club was plunged into nearly £1billion worth of debt when it was purchased.
.Second on the list of hated companies was Ryanair, with 23 per cent of those polled claiming to be fed up with the airline's 'money-grabbing' ways.

Utility company British Gas was named by 22 per cent of respondents as the company they really can't stand, after repeatedly raising gas prices.

Despite helping to plunge the country into recession with mountains of bad debt, government-owned Royal Bank of Scotland was further down the list, sparking rage in just 16 per cent of those taking part in the survey.

Arsene9 and the team may benefit from working with different coaches other than Pat Rice. A coach who may provide fresh ideas, a different point of view that may even challenge Arsene9's thinking now and then. Questions have been asked who challenges the players but who challenges/questions Arsene9? Say what you want about Fergie he has had various different coaches with different philosophies along side him since he has had that job. It has also reflected in the adjustments that have been made on and off the field. Arsene9 has had Pat Rice right tru; I doubt anybody is really challenging Arsene9 to try a different a different way of playing in an effort to get results or do things. Respect.
They will never get rid of Pat Rice. He is Mr. Arsenal. Player from 1964-1980. Captain from 1977 to 1980. Coach (at different levels) from 1984 to now. He go dead in Arsenal.

Not saying get rid of but add somebody with different ideas and fresh energy!
Yeah I hear yuh. With the skill in this side Arsenal shoulda be destroying this year. My opinion is that the back up players not good enough. Or maybe dat is de coach because Fergie does get he backups to perform when dey need to. Get an assistant coach to kick up Denilson and Rosicky backside yes!

Dwn...dah essay yuh type dey

Men just pulling stones and doing shit when it matters, doh try to spin it nah.

1) From Almunia weekend...and his blunders before that.

2) Scechny and Kosielny gifting Martins a goal...and a cup lost.

3)Bendtner control letting him down on the 1 v 1 vs Barca...dat goal woulda send us through

4)The shitty defending by Denilson/gibbs that just helpin leak goals vs Manu in the FA cup vs Manu.

Arsenal performances as good as they are come down to a handful of goats pulling facking stones and doing shit when it matters CONSISTENTLY ....dais the difference between champions and also rans.

ManU could play shit whole game and with 10 men...but when they get they half a chance it will count. Dais why they are winners and we left to cobweb empty cabinet.

Wenger is at fault too, he ent buying nuttin, he picking shit sides, using shit formation and making shit sub. Arsenal is a side of no balls, no belley individuals....maybe he bring Lehmann back in to hit men hard clout and cuss the underperformers he have in the team.

Is only a setta sorry, be better next time on twitter and shit from big hard stones men...instead they shoot the 4king ball when they reach the area or put in a good solid blade and stop playing tiddlywinks on the damn field.

everyone play their part but at the end of the day and wenger could take some blame. but it hard to blame wenger for the circumstances that lead to them 4 things you mention there.

1. if szczesny didnt stub his finger on a barca freekick almunia wouldnt a be in goal
2. cant blame wenger for szczesny and koscielny mix up against birmingham. koscielny not even supposed to be starting for arsenal. but vermaelen freak situation have him as a regular
3. bendtner control letting him down is not wenger fault. neither is van persie's red card in that game. which would have probably left bendtner on the bench
4. and again, denilson have no place in arsenal side if men was fit

the point i making is that alot of the things that happening to arsenal arent just because wenger did not buy a better player. he did buy better players but they keep getting injured! or to put it another, if wenger maintained his same policy but men weren't injured so much all of those things would a been avoided. solving the injury crisis is more important to me than changing wenger's player policy. cause imo arsenal roster have decent depth. it just always depleted.
dwn makes some good points. Problem is, why does this happen so much to Arsenal? A man point out to me that when they went to Stamford Bridge in Ocrober, the injury situation would be like Chelsea with no Drogba, Lampard, Essien, Terry, Alex or Cech (Since at the time Almunia was still the starting keeper). Has Chelsea EVER been that depleted? They missed some of those players this season and their record went off the rails. Arsenal created chances to draw, and maybe even win that game but they lost 2-0, even with a good performance. A full strength Arsenal has demonstrated what they can do, beating Chelsea and Barca. I am sure they could beat United as well because I think at full strength, Arsenal is the best side in England and the only other sides on earth who better would be MAYBE Barca and Real. Look in the last premier league game, Ignasi Miquel was on the bench. One injury to Koscielny or Squillaci and he playing in the Premiership. A man Wenger said outright is not ready for first team football. Look how depleted Arsenal was when Messi drop 4 on them last year? But everybody just say is because Arsenal not good.

I have read news stories about trainers criticising Arsenal fitness training and saying it causes a lot of injuries. There will always be freak injuries and those can't be helped (I think van Persie gets hurt so much because he tries so hard, like the CC Final goal and his injury in Netherlands v Italy friendly last year that took him out for most of the season). But Cesc constant hamstring problems, Diaby who can't string 3 games in a row?

At this point I would start Lehmann (DOH CARE HOW LONG HE'S BEEN OUT) ..... cyah take no more of this f**king Almunia boy anything is better than that piece of shit!
A man say put Eboue in goal since dey does use him everywhere else. Time to give flickin Almunia a blasted all expense paid trip to the Bermuda Triangle!

This is the same team where Almunia lost his spot and gave away two easy goals earlier in the season.. he's gonna want to make up for it this time around ..
I don't recall diaby being injured .. I believe he is fit now.
I f arshavin doesn't start I'm not mad at that because one day he'll do well against barca then play absolute lala vs Man U.
I doh think he played that badly. Maybe he needed to run into the penalty area more during attacks but that was true of all the midfielders. Remember Arsenal had more shots on goal at Old Trafford in this game than ANY team since 2003. Why you think van der Sar was MOTM? The only problem was 2 defensive mistakes from Denilson and Sagna that cost Arsenal the goals.

even though we all know the reffs suck especially certain ones

see you in may

5 matches are ridiculous...

Wenger and others say the same shit too yet they get nothing...  but its ok the FA and Refs favour United  ::)

They will try to give Arsenal the title and Arsenal will still f**k it up.. I'm expecting a Brom victory

well well well

its FA cup lunch time affair tomorrow

i think this is arsenal best team available.

          Almunia
Sagna Squill JD Clichy
Ramsey Diaby Wilshire
      AA RVP Nasri

manu may have injuries but vidic back and that helps alot

fergie wont be putting out no sorf side for this one at home and wil lhave them fired up

question is will arsenal players care about this game and give the supporters more shit to deal with? or will they play for more than pride
Best available side yeah. A week till next game. Pray for no more injuries. Remember Man U have their CL game in 3 days and have to win. Even if is l'OM dey playing.

Szczesny out 6 weeks, so might be back for Spurs game. We hadda face Pool with Manuel though. Djourou will have to play every game till the end of the season.

Milan out.. couldnt score against a team that leaks goals

they went there to lock Spurs down and forgot they had to score

 :rotfl:

Forza EPL
Milan, like every other team in Serie A besides Napoli and Juve, struggle against teams with wingers. Like dey cyah handle it because dey play too narrow. Serie A going backwards, which is why dey lose dey 4th CL spot to Bundesliga. Inter only manage to mash up last year because they have hardworking strikers who could play on de wings, but with injuries and Leonardo dunce formations dey right back to square 1. Is only because dey less shi++y and backwards than the rest of Serie A that Milan winning the league.

1011
steups..allyuh goin on about that second yellow as if it wudve made a fuggin difference...if arsenal woulda get thru wid 10 men bet yuh wouldna see all d essay and thesis men postin...barca was hungry
Not so sure bout dat one. Before de sending off it was 1-1 and Barca was gettin knock out for all the possession and shots they had. Anybody can tell you you can outshoot the other team completely and dominate possession and still lose. Look at the Carling Cup final. After the red card Barca score 2. At dat point even Abidal start to make runs into the penalty box. Not sayin Barca wouldn'a win it but definitely a game changer. They had 8 shots in the 56 minutes before the red card and 11 in the 34 minutes after. Plus ALL their second half shots came after the sending off.

1012
I don't expect any English to go far in this CL; they all have been very shitty this season! I would love to see a Barca vs Real final or any of those sides against Bayern. I think Bayern, Real and Barca are the three best teams in the CL.
I doh know bout Bayern nuh. Their defence has actually gotten worse. And that's after they sold Martin Demichelis. Yuh can't test Robben and Ribery but that leaky defence go kill dem.

We're not gonna meet another team that can possess the ball like barca including man u  ... the things we really need to learn from barca is...... the transition from defense to attack .... when you have the ball barca hounds you ... I've never seen a team that can win back possession as quickly as barca ... I mean never.
This is what these youths need to take and learn from playing this team .. closing down space this quickly with the midfielders and forwards doing that kind of work the defense will never be tested as regularly as it can be and it will never be under as much pressure as it could be.
The fact that Arsenal defense comes under so much pressure shows a defensive failing with the mids and the forwards.
Barca comes at you in two's, three's, they smother you, bother you, and support and movement is everywhere and despite this if you van lock down Messi you can still affect their offense significantly.

In Mourinho's book he said he knew his team was gonna get a guy sent off so in practice he played his team a man short to deal with the added pressure .. overload!
Walcott's pace is an outlet defensively and he gives you something you can't coach ... speed to at least put distance between the mid and then give time for our midifeld to catch their breath and link with him we need him back... badly and his wingplay creates the majority of Van Persie's goals ... we are a different team without him!
I'll be honest I was disappointed with Arsenal's effort they didnt play to win.
I don't think  they didn't play to win. I think they couldn't get out of their defensive third. All season Arsenal has struggled against teams that press in midfield and Barca are the gold standard at doing that. Trying to pass through the Barca midfield means you gonna keep getting the ball coming back at you. Since Wenger makes his tactical changes on the hour mark, van Persie's sending off completely disrupted his adjustment. Arsenal plan B uses 2 strikers and sacrifices a ball playing midfielder. With the striker sent off it is messed up.

1014
I think Arsenal played poorly because they defended too deep. The only times Arsenal has played well v Barca was with a high defensive line to squeeze the space for Barca to pick out through balls. They also couldn't get going because they ...kept trying to pass through Barca's midfield, a game they were never going to win. Fabregas couldn't get on the ball and would have needed to sit deep and play longer balls to the strikers and flanks. He didn't look fit anyway. Taking off a central midfielder and playing Bendtner and van Persie in a 442 might have worked (that ploy led to Arsenal's only realistic chance in the game anyway) but by then van Persie had been sent off. So their standard plan B was wrecked. Barca played a nearly flawless game but Arsenal could have done a LOT better with more tactical awareness. At least it wasn't a total embarrassment like last year. They still had a shot in the tournament until that sending off destroyed any hope of a recovery.

Hard luck there fellas you all we undone by some excellent goalkeeping and convenient refereeing.

It's really interesting to see how ref decisions does help Man U whether they playing or not  :-\ Anyways...Arsenal still shoulda at least put away 1 of their many chances.

Big Up!

The goal was not offside.

I know, plus that was a clear penalty about 5 minutes before that...but say what...that's the way it goes sometimes...Gunner Stunner would come and give his rant about refs in the PL soon  ;D

Big Up!
Hard luck there Gunners. Well the gap closed, but not to 1 point, unfortunately. 3 points is still 1 game though. I can't really blame the team though, the ref was horrible and Mignolet real save. At least Wellbeck didn't poison we in de closing minutes. Wenger say he disgusted. He damn right!

Dat is 2 hard games in a row and honestly, much as I like de games, I doh give a fishes tit bout no FA Cup. I say play a B side, let Man U take it if dey want and lewwe wine on dem for de Premiership. Years now Wenger scorn FA and Carling Cup, now he get so desperate he want anyting dat pass, and it cost us van Persie, the best striker in England when he fit. The club so taking on de media and dey chupidness dey trying for all trophies and de team fallin apart. Who gives ah ass if dey ent win in 5 years, dey knew when dey leave Highbury dat dis woulda happen, now dey let de short term thinking shoot us in the foot when Arsenal playing the best football in England and top 5 in Europe. Goes to show that football is about match ups and not always "aggregate superiority" (for lack of a better term).

Arsenal is superior to Birmingham in aggregate...but Birmingham put their size advantage to good use on the day.

Barca is superior to Arsenal in aggregate, but Arsenal put their speed and discipline to good use on the day

Arsenal beats Barca then ties with Leyton Orient and loses to Birmingham...

The beautiful game....

Doesn't feel so beautiful today. But same as I said with Barca game. Barca is better on paper, but they play football on grass. Same with Arsenal and Brum. They were disciplined and took their chances. Fair play to them. And their keeper was better than ours. Szczesny was due a bad game though. He has been excellent before this. Oh well, pick yourselves up Arsenal. Still 3 pots to play for.
