General Discussion / Re: T&T 2015 General Elections Thread
« on: August 13, 2015, 02:08:38 PM »

^^ Most people in Trinidad not taking that Anika Gumbs story seriously because it not adding up and raise more questions about her and questions the validity of her allegations than anything else. Iz only meh boy pull stones in here kecthing a heart attack  :D
assuredly not. in all honesty i dont know anything about politics in trinidad and tobago other than what i heard at my dinner table or what i have read on social media and in the news media. it's only recently after the excitement of the gold cup came to an end and with the european football leagues still out i ventured into the general discussion only because this controversial bloke was on about PNM this that and the other so i engaged him, and regrettably so.

believe me when i say that i don't sweat anything that is going on in trinidad ATM. one day i will like to move to tobago and build a nice ranch if i get the land that is, and would like to see a stable government installed so i could invest my life savings in a stable economy, plus trinidad and tobago is my home so why wouldn't i want the best for the nation? i would like nothing better than to see it's leaders take advantage of it's full potential, and there in lies my concerns.
Dude do yourself a favor and stop posting..the nonsense you are talking is absolutely mind-boggling but you justify it with you don't sweat about anything in TnT my lawd go back under your rock.

for real...you don't sweat anything going on in Trinidad but you want to move back to Tobago?? ??? ???

You all could talk all the predigree this and foreign born that. At the end of the day all roads to major world tournaments leads thru Mexico. Yes they have had the close calls go for them, especially in this tournament. But when you see a Mexico team play, you see structure, discipline, flair, stamina and fitness. They lose very little, they win most. Maybe we just may need a Mexican coach.

you on to something here my brother.  i don't know what kind of studies coaches do but surely some TnT coach has done a case study of the Mexican model to see what we can glean from them structure wise.

Flame and Citron "Flammen & Citronen" (original title) A drama centered on two fighters in the Holger Danske World War II resistance group.

yeah that bad.

a good film is Headhunters...a Scandinavian film, starts off slow but is action-packed!

a next good one I saw last night was Water, a film set in India during the 1940s

A mixed bag of emotions, mostly unfavourable:
1. Happy in a way to see the aggressive proactive attitudes to getting out there on the shop window, but ...
2. Sickened by the seemingly exploitative tactics of the mercenary recruiters who prey on hungry little people ... from their own land.
3. Hurt by the frightening abondonment of youngsters made suddenly vulnerable in a strange land, trust betrayed.
4. Angry that these Mediterranean-like raft smugglers would want to go behind coaches backs and let the players drown and abandon them as the ship capsizes, and take their money, snacks and life-jacket to boot.
Heartbreaking, worthy of PTSD counselling for these players.

ent..why ppl like to do this to folks trying to make a positive step in life...it reminds me of the rackets in the 90s with ppl who would take monies from poor ppl under the pretense of going to "check out colleges in the US"  >:(

General Discussion / Re: Confederate Flag Controversy
« on: July 18, 2015, 11:45:22 AM »
I went to college and grad school in SC and in my undergrad years many of my classmates marched on the SC Capitol in 1999 (like most of the Trinis on campus I didn't know what was going on but I quickly got the sense that the flag was offensive). I lived in Columbia for many years as well and passed by the flag waving proudly in front of the state house. I am so glad that it has been taken down and sent to a museum which, in my opinion is the only place it should be seen.  as a friend of mine so eloquently put it, "if your only claim to fame is that some long lost ancestor of yours may or may not have fought in a war (and a losing one that that) then you are really pathetic"

What even sickens me more.. the Mexican players/football federation have yet to denounce the behaviour of their fans. Usually whenever supporters shout racial slurs, their team members always comes out and denounce the conduct of their supporters.. This is also a way of separating the team from the few ignoramus who resort to that.. In this case the Mexican players and football federation are accepting this type of behavior by turning a blind eye and not denouncing the conduct of their supporters..

quite right...i streamed the game through azteca deportes and besides from the fact that one of the commentator said "sigan tirando botellas" (i couldn't tell if he was being saracastic)  there was no mention made of the intimidating, reprehensible and childish behavior by those fans.  they interviewed one of the mexican players immediately after the game and he made ZERO mention of the bottle pelting.  let that happen in trinidad nah and they will lodge a complaint quick, fast and in a hurry.  i try to love my Mexican brothers and sisters but this ting is real sh!t

« on: July 13, 2015, 07:26:22 PM »
Thanks guys!
I almost had heart-attack in this game. The two best players walk away from the team  and return to France due to  disagreement with the coach.  One Key midfielder( current PSJ player and former Standard De liege, Jeff-Louis)  and key defense player( Jean Jacques Pierre). As you can see Haiti, had no midfield,  and couldn't play the way we did against the US. We really miss this due in the midfield. I was hopping that all 4 Caribbean teams made it in the second round but it looks like we're going to get 3 out of 4.

well done compere...I am sad that the two best players walked away from the team. In the words of comedian Majah Hype..."that's the devil!"

I was trying to watch this Ghana Panama game last night but I was too tired. Them Ghanaians could run boy waaaay. Had a nippy lil #11 with touches and pace on that wing. Panama held their own but a more clinical side would have run roughshod over them.   I noticed the speed of thought of the Panamanians was way slower than their opponents as well.

Look at football (tournaments, friendlies) all these countries playing and then we does want to show up with 2-6 weeks of local training to beat these teams. Unrealistic.   :banginghead:

Tough reality. Some nations have as many as three (3) separate teams up and running right now within the U20 and the U23 age band.

Mexico for one....but one could argue that they have a deep enough talent pool to field three sides
