If you go to any secondary school game now, it seems to have lost the edge it used to have. The teams only getting big support when they on top and if they not on top is only small crowds. I was in QRC during the golden age of 70-77 when we never win a thing ! But yet we produced some food players like Michael Grayson, Delandro,Thomson, Howard etc. During that time Tech had a team even as big as the team with Latas, Leonson, in fact they get ban because they use a over age player one year. The thing is regardless who playing who the crowds were massive. People want to see the best palyers and the best teams.Check it out SSFL is really the only under 19 football league it have, so why some of the best youths in the country should be excluded because of some snobbish rules.
The lack of crowds is because of the  best not being in the league. College football as it was called then was more than that, men and women from the villages and towns used to come out and support because the nieghbour son playing an he is a favorite on the local savannha ground.
Our whole society breaking down today because we like to exclude each other for selfishness.
Bring back John D bring back Tech bring back any other school that have players who could make the grade, after all is still boys under 19.

It's not that bad. This country was ex-soviet, so you spend the first months adjusting to the fact that few people here have ever seen or heard anybody like yourself. Little things piss yuh off, like at the airport even when going out, they would take yuh passport and spend half hour looking at it because they never see it before (the same thing happen to me in Istanbul and Vienna). You spend a lot of time saying yuh from Trinidad and Tobago close to Jamaica (that really hurts) and Dwigth Yorke is a Trini (DEY LIKE YORKIE TOO BAD).
This place is corruption every where yuh turn. They big into football and dey fans is de most ignorant in de world (all the balance of their qualifiers at home is in closed stadium ). Ah play some sunday morning futsal type with them an is dig, elbow, cuff etc. Ah went an watch a Euro qualfier two years ago (rep ireland vs georgia) and dey spit an pelt bottle an knife at anybody who look different.
De woman good looking if yuh get get past de big noses an make sure dey bathe an dey available (hiv incidence one of de lowest in de world).
It have two other trini across here, dey working for un in the trouble region abkhazia ( civil war place), so ah only get tuh meet them twice, an of course we get rell drunk.
When yuh in places like this, yuh want to see and here about anything trini, all de things yuh does take fuh granted when yuh home yuh mising like crazy. It eh have no place in this world better than TT. When ah go back home on mih rotation, all mih pardners does check mih like ah mad, because ah doh want tuh sleep, ah on de beach in de morning, going tuh any and every kind ah sport game ah could see, den is rum shop until dey run mih.
De biggest ting in my life rigth now is de fact dat mih daugthers pass dey exams an Trinidad and Tobago go to Germany.
So tha is the best ah could do right now.

Football / De best game yuh ever see
« on: September 09, 2005, 11:56:03 PM »
After de roller coaster week leh we go back down memory lane and remember de best LOCAL game yuh see. Colleges, club, international (Trinidad vs somebody, at home). For me de year was either 78 or 79 John d vs Fatima intercol replay.
John d had man like, Clayton Morris, Hamon lucas,Peru Anderson, Brian Haynes ah full team ah starboys, Fatima had man like Graham Rodriguez, Anton Corneal ah nex Corneal in goal. Was the second game on CIC ground, Fatima leading 3-0 with about five minutes to go , place dark about two thousand John d supporters trying to fit on the sidelines, police on horseback get run off, next thing  Pugh score, game start back 3-1, referee cyar even see de linesman an dem again, bam de red man score (ah now remember he name ,castellano). Game start back Fatima supporters still laughing an giving man picong, two lil fight break out, Casty score again.
Referee start game again, yuh cyar even see de house Hasely Crawford living in now.
Whistle blow game over draw , people walking out de ground forget which side dey supporting, jus talking about de red man an de bullet Rodriguez had score in de first haf.
An ah only pay a dollar tuh see dat game !

Ah hope allyuh eh making de mistake of feeling dat people new to dis forum is "wagonnists".
Jus because ah man now join. Ah fretting now.
Ah sure it have old people like me who just join because we now have de time to.
Ah ent going tuh get in to a life history, but I sit down on de cycle track in skinner park an watch TT play ah wc qualifier back in de seventies, rain pouring bucket a drop, Phillipe Vorbe running rings around we defense an only spanner (who was de captain) playing lke he understand de game. See in de oval rudy howell hit spidey a bullet from point blank range which he save with he belly flip an den trow out de ball and den he collapse ( FA cup final Caroni vs TECSA)
BE CAREFULL WHA ALL YUH SAYING

Football / Re: Warriors Scenario Thread
« on: September 09, 2005, 06:07:56 AM »
 OCT 8th

   CRC 1 vs USA 1

   MEX 4 vs GUA 1

   PAN 0 vs TT 2

   MEX  22

   USA  20

   CRC  14

   TT   11

    GUA  8

OCT 12th

   GUA 2 vs CRC 0

TT 1 ( Jack Warner goal) vs MEX 0

   USA 3 vs Pan 0

   USA   23

   MEX   22

   CRC   14

    TT   14

    GUA 11

Now this is my scenario, best case for me, in fact only case.
Worst case is we remain on 8 pts.

Jack Warner for president of FIFA !

Football / Re: Do we expect too much?
« on: September 09, 2005, 12:43:08 AM »
How do you base expectations.
What is this team's international record ?
When BStC had the team we played the preliminary qualifiers , the gold cup qualifiers and three final games. You had to be a real optimist to think at that time that we had any hope.
Prior to that we did not have any quality international games played, friendly or otherwise, so how could we rate the team against any good opposition.Beenhaker come and we in with a statistical chance of 4th place.
But look at the games we won Panama at home and a blood and guts victory over Gua.
What I am trying to say is that this team still going through the developmental process and expectations have to be based on the last performance and I guess your own patriotic feelings.
Finally remember unlike the other teams that have most of their starters playing at home in good professional leagues, we grab most of our players from away , throw them together and give the coachs little or no time to get them playing together.
That is why we see sheer individual brilliance sparking this team to victory (latas for i nstance).
Ah still think Jack go win this for us

Forget Gua vs Mex game, the Mex dun win.
Trinidad will beat Panama in Panama, de Panamanian crowd in that stadium go be friends and family of de players and stadium staff. I cyar make it because of work but anybody who could go to support the team should go and make the difference.
Ah serious, we will beat Mex at home.
This eh go happen again. Ah listen to TT vs Haiti at home on mih fadder phonograph radio an den see de game in black and white on mih nieghbor tv later. De ref and linesmen get ban for life and Papa doc give all the players gold watchs.
By de way ah think that was de greatest team TT ever produce since I watching football.
1989 we decide to travel from forrest de rest is history.
Dis year no choice if Jack have to start de qualifiers over again he go do dat.
I buying beer an rum an bringing russian vodka for everybody on dis forum to drink when we qualify .

J Warner for next president of FIFA. Could only justify putting himself up if the country he from has played in a finals. Panama 0 vs TT 2.  TT 1 ( a J Warner goal) vs Mexico 0.  Uzbekistan vs TT H and Away  1-3 overall. Hey presto J Warner FIFA president.

A little something i seem to remember (I could be wrong), when TT qualified for u19 WC final in Portugal, the qualifing tournament was in CR and I think Dwight scored 2 goals against CR for TT to win the game and qualify ! So turn back the years Dwight.

Do not have the luxury of playing for a draw, people forgetting guatemala have a chance of beating the states, especially as the states playing a set of new players
