Football / Re: Is Birchall really our "player to watch"?
« on: December 28, 2005, 05:49:26 PM »
whey boy Disgruntled I didn't think that somebody could bad talk Stern more than me and I even had to ask God for forgiveness when I see the man tackling in the game against Baharain. But you you take the cake.

And for real Whitley has been the most consistent player in the qualifiers. When the team looked down and out of it he never gave up and that persistence earned us two goals don't forget that fellas. So my player to watch is Whitley. I believe he is good and I hope he rises to the occasion.

All dis nice but what about who we playing? Is a deafening silence from d TTFF

I told you all along, try organizing a game vs Jamaica in Kingston!

 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

WHY  ???  ???

The question is, WHY NOT??

The answer is because teams are trying to play Jamaica in order to get a feel for Caribbean style football. Although it is arguable that our football styles are different the only reason why England is playing you guys is in order to prepare themselves for our game. Therefore Beenhaker is smart enough not to waste his time and money playing you guys when we could be playing teams that will better prepare us for the teams that we have to face in the World Cup. And Jamaica is not one of them.

i dont mean to get all morbid on you guys out here...but i just need to vent! i just think that sometimes it weird the turns your life may take and the things you go through. and for thoes of us that believe in God...it sometimes feels like he is ignoring you. anybody get me?

Hey chic I now exactly how u feel cause I used to think the same thing at times and from what I see you have a lot of support here on the site and people that are willing to cheer you up. Well with me this year things turned out alot better, Sometimes we as individuals expect results right away and I realized it is not that he is ignoring you is just that what is for u may not be for you right now. If u get what I am saying.

You just need to keep believing because your blessings are sure. And one year you will realize that everything is falling into place.

NEVER GIVE UP.  :)

Football / Re: How come Trini women doh know much bout football?
« on: December 22, 2005, 06:02:44 PM »
I was going to jump into this topic real hot and sweaty but I decided to cool my self a lil bit. Besides I see some of the fellas actually picking up for we women.

And some actually seem to forget that there are alot of knowledgeable women on this site. Women that have been here since before the first upgrade. So there are alot of trini women that know a great deal about football.

bUt to answer your question properly I guess from my own experience and what I could tell from my friends a guy would learn from small how to head or kick a ball their dads will take them to the savannah and take them to the games. I was a fortunate one my dad taught both my brother and I to do these things from the time I could walk. But to say that he was serious about me playing for a team well that really never happened, until he realised that there was a future for women in the sport.

Reasons being:

1. Alot of the women out there grew up in a generation when football "wasn't for girls" it was tooo rough. So girls really were not encouraged to play the sport at PE or other wise. Thank God times have changed.

2. Some fathers do not take the time to pass on their knowledge of the sport to their girl children. To the fathers out there do not have your girl  child growing up asking "why they does call hiam a goal keeper"in public it wrong and embarassing.

3. I guess some fathers underestimate the skill of women footballers and their market value now.

4. Some of them really just go intercol for the lime and be cause there boy friend playing.

What u could do to each his/ her own but u have to master the skill of gaping, being gaped at and knowing the sport.  ;)

Not so fellas :D

Football / Re: What do you think about a gay football league?
« on: December 17, 2005, 07:20:10 PM »
I think we've reached the all time low with the responses on this thead.......

unapologetic homophobia (as seen in this thread) and the stereotype that a homosexual is a pervert/molester is the reason why gays might feel they need their own league

I've played co-ed soccer with attractive women, and never felt the urge to make any sexual advances (during the game ;D)......yet we feel that a gay person would be interested in "getting off" while playing....strange.

With respect to the question, a gay league is uncalled for in my opinion because football is not a "straight" sport. It's just a sport...Anyone (including gays) is welcome so long as they can play.....

That's the impression I'm under. I might be wrong.

I like the way u think.

And to the fellas out there how u so sure that the man u celebrating with when the goal score not gay.

Steups at this thread but I did get some good laughs.

Right now I have a smallie that ah grooming, "Heston Small", he's 15 years old, he could real play, he playing like a big man, he's a midfielder going Piccadilly EC, ah trying to groom him because he have it.

Great interview Infinite. I am glad that someone out there is trying to motivate the man and not just keep him down. I guess that knowing that there are people out there that still believe in him would make him self motivated.

Anyway back to Heston Small. Question Piccadily EC is a Primary School????????? Tell me I wrong cause the youth man is 15 years old.

Please somebody tell me I wrong  :'(

Infinite answer meh question please nah it really disturbing meh.

If the youth man has so much talent it really sad to hear he still in Primary School maybe the age thing was just a typo right. :-\

tnt is a great team to watch, they are a good team, but come on u are over doing it just a tad.  just a smidge. i know its the fans job to be overconfident but dayum.

but then again its the world cup, anything could happen. as you said, "improbably but quite possible",   but "anything could happen" and "you never know" arent good arguments to say that trinidad is gonna (lol) knock england out of that group.

I might be on that train vibe if only for the unlimited travel options but I ent know if I ready for 15 nights on a train.

Plus what is the scene when man gone party? How do you stow your gear when yuh not on the train?

It probably have lockers for rent at the train stations.

The bathing part I eh too sure about and might be the only complication.

Maybe the camping sites would have good facilities for that??

I could see it now....Trinis marking out dey turf in the camping ground and we moving likey gypsies from Dortmund to Nuremberg and back to Kaiserslautern for the first round.   ;D
Nuff pot of peleau bubbling.
I wonder if they go let we use LPG tank to cook

PELAU boy I working studying and saving I was more thinking about CRIX.

The train idea wasn't sounding too bad until some men started to scare me. :(

NEXT TOPIC

First of all I am not a man  >:( second if you didn't read the whole post and didn't get my point I sorry yuh slow. Third and last point b4 I totally ignore you and your ignorant posts I asked u to name people that you think should be there, at least you read that part, and people could put in their two cents about those players. My point is that Julius should be nutured by his own and developed by his own and we should give people with his talent a chance and not be jealous of his skill ability or what he has acomplished.

If yuh talking next is us we have to make it not only a second time but we have to be a consistent fixture at the World Cup and we could only do it with some strong youth development and a GOOD COACH.

BEsides we have to knock the US out of a qualification. WhichIsland go be next?

being honest i really dont see any other island putting up any competition right now although

i really wanna see another island getting some recognition.

men from guyana and grenada and all them countries does be hurting when labor day come

nobody know them country exist

i does really feel sorry fuh them

Football / Re: End of season honours for US-based T&T college players
« on: December 03, 2005, 05:28:51 PM »
Julius James is not up to National senior level....its that simple....I see him play against St. John's ...he had a good game but he is not up to international standards nor we expect him to be...He would have to play competitive professional football to be picked...And i definitely think that Beenhakker's style doesn't suit him....He is a clean up man(Sweeper) not a player that has great control and vision in the back...He has pace and he is strong and reads the game relatively well..He is suited for the US college league where he just has to kick it out or head it out and do 'clean up'.....I don't even think he could make a PFL team because men like Jamerson,Toussaint, Marcano, Clement etc. will take him apart....But he is young and has time to improve into a great player...Anthony Noreiga and Fabien Lewis are miles ahead of James when it comes to playing it from the back, tackling, and reading the game...James just got into a good school...Its that simple....2010 is my best bet....GoT&T....

STEUPS
 >:(

Okay fine but are we going to leave it upto the US College league to train him to get to that level. You really think they would want to develop a player that in five years to come could make them seriously regret it. You think they really give a crap about Julius' development.

So why not have Beenie train him who else you guys want on the bench for defense no body answer that question yet.  >:(

We have to love and develop our own.

If Birch learn the anthem perfectly arredi it should have bullpistle waiting for any local who cyar sing the anthem word for word - in tune....

For real I really saw that Birchal didn't know the anthem but he sang it for the last two games I was very pleased.  ;D If there are Trinis that are born and bred here that either do not know the anthem or refuse to sing it then we need to ship them out to sea. >:(
