Oh and there is a big difference between equipment manager and team manager.
Funny thing about an anynomous board of posters that one can infer that another is inferring that another is clueless because the poster is unknown to you. I gave my opinion and you inferred that I am clueless! Well you've inferred correctly, I am clueless as to why so many of the things that are goining on with football in Trinidad is allowed to happen. With all due respect to you, no response is necessary as I will humbly dismiss my clueless self from this discussion. PEACE!

T&T manager says Soca Warriors can do well in 2013
By Roger Seepersad (T&T Express)

Trinidad and Tobago senior football manager William Wallace says the current "Soca Warriors" have the right attitude to do well in next year's CONCACAF Gold Cup and is confident they can put in some creditable performances to make T&T proud in 2013.

"What is crucial about this team is that it they may not be the most talented players, but it is a bunch of players with the right attitude," Wallace told the Express yesterday.

"They exhibit the attitude of winners," he said.

"They absorbed all of the pressure and they never one day complained...with that type of attitude I am sure this team will go a long way and really bring more joy to T&T next year," Wallace told the Express yesterday.

"Once that attitude remains, that really augurs well for getting good results (in the CONCACAF Gold Cup)...we are going to have creditable performances before and during the Gold Cup. I can only see the team going from strength to strength leading up to the Gold Cup, and I am certain we are going to see a performance we can all be proud of," the T&T manager added.

WHY DOES A TEAM MANAGER HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY??? I'VE NEVER SEEN A NATIONAL PROGRAM WHERE THE MANAGER IS A SPOKESPERSON...I'M SO SICK OF THIS DOTISHNESS...STICK TO DOING THE LAUNDRY AND FILLING WATER BOTTLES PLEASE...MAKE SURE PLAYERS GET THEIR PER-DIEM AND MEALS ON TIME ETC. :banginghead:

The title Co-Head Coach is more commonly used in US Collegiate Athletics, but it is for administrative financial reasons. The programs have a defined Head Coach with a first assistant coach given the title of Co-Head Coach due to salary bands or range as more commonly known.
For example: Coaching positions in colleges are designated under Administrative positions and these Admin positions have salary ranges so in order for an assistant to be paid within a certain salary range , the administrative title has to fit.
Head Coach : Salary Range ($50-100,000); so if the first assistan coach is making anything above $50,000 then the Administrative Title has to reflect Head Coach as well, thus the Co- Head Coach Title.

Also fully agree on the lack of contacts point. I also want to say that not getting a full ride is not necessarily a deal breaker.

Some posters probably wished they had a platform like this when they were coming up.

Good Points:
There are quite a number of Trinis in the US connected to many programs and coaches on a personal level and can assist. This fee is minimal today compared to if I had to find that kind of money many moons ago...but check this...plenty men spend more than that making trips with Alcons to get the same opportunities and plenty men still had to find there own opportunity if they weren't a real "Corneal Boy"
Plenty men settle for partial scholarship and live through much hard times (you know what it is to live off reused Lipton tea bags with no milk or sugar for weeks; or live in a house with no heat in the winter; or study under the street light outside your house because you have no electricity)just to accomplish their goals.
Years ago coaches took word of mouth recommendations from other players and coaches...today it's different; a video will get the interest of a coach, but for them to come to see players in person speaks volumes. I and other coaches have gone to other countries to see players firsthand...these days recruiting and scholarship awarding is a coach's bread and butter so they coming to make sure they see for themselves what they will be investing the university's money in.

He needs to leave Stoke - plain and simple.
If he leave now he most likely going Championship. His stock drop at Stoke.
He need to take this chance to impress and put himself in de shop window. Then see what he could get in de summer.
His stock should rise not drop if this is the role he is playing: Shawcross said: "Kenny was superb. At times he was playing by himself up front and running onto his own flick-ons.
Imaging having to run on to your own flick -on as a lone striker...wow some people have a wierd vision of the game :frustrated:

The Head Coach of a professional team should not be appointed as the national team coach..."Conflict of Interest" will always exist (percieved or not) when it comes to player selection. Bad idea :banginghead:

Very good point.

Buh ah man not going to step down from one position (less food) to acquire a position of uncertain prospects ... right?[/color]

Shabazz seems to have mastered how to maintain multiple portfolios even in the face of seeming conflicts of interest. It won't end here.
That in essence sums up so much of what is really at hand...football reflecting the society. Coaching requires a serious level of commitment to do a proper job with one team, so this makes it almost impossible to have any real chance at success. Whereever there is compromise, failure is sure to be the result. Compromise is the number one reason for failure in any walk of life...these coaches compromise; administration compromise; fans compromise; players compromise; the people of the nation compromise....failure abounds!

I agree with most here that a dead clean break is the best, but since yuh say de boy cryin an ting I strongly recommend the No.7 suggestion from Giggsy
OTOH I forget CK1 is a man strong with he bible ,, so dat kinda kinda slackness eh go fly in he house

I suggest you be a good dad and get the boy at least a date with a nice church girl…….with D cups and ah bad rep

# 7 would have been on my list too ;D but thank GOD I know better now and could be a good dad and teach my son some good things about manhood and decision making. I've shared these responses with him and it was fruitful for him to see the similarities of what I've already said; that along with the light hearted humor is a plus. He's been hanging with his boys and also working on his new CD so that's keeping him focused.

JC: The objective of "Spiritual Wickedness" is to steal, devour and destroy, so the Colonialist would have no integrity or obligation towards restoration or commitment to make whole anyone they have had their hands on. The wickedness still exists not in the form of obvious physical slavery, but in financial and psychological dimensions...graphed into psycho-socialization , global economic trade policy and governance. They still dictate to a certain extent through the educational system and its content which is designed to shape idealogy and loyalty. (That's why you often insists that Trinis need to educate themselves...literally!) Unless there is a renewing of the mind from top to bottom these nations will continue to be playing catch up. Freedom and Independence has to be understood on a very personal level for a nation to thrive and overcome the "fallout" residue of colonialism.

Someone mentioned in an earlier post the "Tragedy of The Broken Family"...this is the root of the issues on the African people globally. A by product of "Spiritual Warefare" from the beginning of time. The enemy destroyed Adam and Eve family...where there is no LOVE there is no unity which leads to corruption in every facet of our existance. The Jews and other ethnic groups have figured this out and we are still playing catch up. The families who have strong bonds internally show the qualities of good self governance, discipline and unity. If the leaders are void on genuine LOVE and filled with brokeness, they lead their entire nations into corruption, lawlwssness and destruction through selfish motives wrapped in policy and governance.

Football / Re: MoS and the future of football: Make your views known
« on: April 03, 2012, 11:43:11 AM »
I had the opportunity to attend the 2008 African Cup of Nations in Ghana and met with football leaders from several countries. The most important discussion of a way forward for those nations was on coaching education. Take a closer look at Venezuela and Spain and you'll also find that this was the focus to improve the quality of the game in those countries. Statistics shared at a Director Of Coaching Course I attended indicated that Spain had a significantly higher number of coaches with UEFA A and UEFA Pro qualifications , followed by Germany, France, Italy then England.
Of course, administration and governance has to be in place for anything else to take root and progress.

Football / Re: Corneal appointed TTFF Technical Director.
« on: January 31, 2012, 01:59:39 PM »
It should be noted that the TTFF made an investment in Corneal many years ago with the sole intention of having a very qualified individual to serve in this capacity in the future. That time has come,” the Executive Committee stated.

Corneal currently holds a Diploma in Physical Education, Sport, with specialisation in football which he earned at the Leipzig University of Germany and also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical and Health Education at Erskine College in South Carolina.

He has an advanced FA International Football License achieved in Trinidad and conducted by English football Technical Director Les Peacock, United States “A” Coaching Licence and the CONMEBOL’s Advanced Coaching Certificate in Paraguay.

Despite the qualifications, the Executive Committee still took time to determine whether there was anyone more qualified and eventually endorsed the appointment of Corneal for the position of Technical Director.[/b][/u] The Committee is confident that he will continue to dedicate his services to the overall development of the game over the next four years and pledges to give him as much support as is possible to help him to perform his duties,” the Committee explained.

1. When did the TTFF determine that they would select him for these specific development opportunities.
2. Were any other potential candidated considered, and if so why him as opposed to another candidate.
3. Who else, where else and how long did the process take for them to determine if there was anyone more qualified.

CK1 the man aint say nothing wrong.  That league have thousands of players in it, trying to get in it, being scouted, coming and going etc.  Trust me that team ain't sweating those comments.  Football is a business, everyone uses everyone.  That why u have contracts.
And he does not have one signed yet. The business is serious and what makes him so special that he could openly say that he wants to use them as a stepping stone?  Anyone looking to work in my business can't say that to me and expect me to be serious about them...I'm looking for employees who could possibly do the job and want to be commotted and loyal to my business. In this business that statement alone could cost him an opportunity because there are many players from around the world they can choose from...not just our little island-ask Brent Sancho!

“The MLS is a good league and we are seeing more and more international players going to play there. I think I will do well there but my interest is to use the experience as a stepping stone to play in Europe.   WOW ! really, is this how a person expects a Human Resource Manager to view their interest in working for their company. Some of these guys just don't get it. The club wants to offer a 1 yr. deal with possibility of an extention-(obviously they want to see if you can cut it), and you setting yourself up by making this statement public. :banginghead:
Someone  please help the players understand proper business and professional acumen...PLEASE!!!!!
The MLS is a good league and we are seeing more and more international players going to play there, and although they are initially offering me a 1 yr deal, I look forward to proving that I can be a major part of their long term plans" -:now that's how you let them rethink the 1 yr offer, because you are saying you want to be a part of their organization's future...not you planning to use them as a stepping stone.

I wonder if it's a ripling effect of what's going on with Football in T&T but is seems like all our foreign based players are suddenly being affected by it,they are all scrambling or having to adjust their positions with this transfer window in process,i guess this is the nature of the professional world of Football.

More reason, not that we need one, to get our house to be in order
Cosistency in your perffomance throughout the season is also critical. So considering his scoring prowess with Army and the national team , then only produce 3 goals??? It's difficult for a manager to get that lack of production and not look for other options. Wish him all the best!
