Football / Re: ARSENAL PRE SEASON TOURNAMENTS
« on: July 28, 2007, 02:44:07 PM »
Not sure what to make of this new look Arsenal (mind you, i'll never stop supporting them) the squad at full strength looks great on paper but i think the game today REALLY showed that we really lack width. I mean, flamini and diaby out wide today..that's crazy. The smoothe quick style passing and counter attacking we had in past seasons is pretty much gone now.

At the very least we learnt that we're not the only team out there that can control a game and still lose. And of course, Alumnia has really improved.

Tommorow i expect a win if Theo, Rosicky and Ade do come back as said they would, if not, it's a coin toss.

P.S. The tourney i really am looking forward to is the Amsterdam, dwardo will have his chance to show us a lil more of his promise then.

whoa..way to have statistics at your finger tips, still with just those four, that's pretty good representation for a 'third world nation'. Who buying a sunderland shirt?

You see the media circle around that lil boy pre-kick-off? That's pure nonsense, i don't care about the grand scheme for him and all that but him on the bench with other players and every body circle him taking pics can't be good for the other players' morale.

You all realise that Sunderland has no been a catalyst to putting Trinidad on the larger map for a European market? That brings the number of trinis in the EPL to like what 5 or something? That's more than Asians(an entire region) and Americans..i think

I know Arsenal tracked this guy for 2 years or something and pulled out because of the asking price. The kid's good, no doubt but fact is he doesn't have the experience to justify a 9milprice tag. No champ league, never won SPL, that price is based on form and potential which isn't worth it when you can get a  Scott Carson for less.

All that takeover bid rumour flying around is just nonsense. The club doesn't really need that support, their long term financial future is already secure and besides, if there was going to be a takeover, it would happen before the season gets underway..just to minimize unrest and all that jazz.
