nachilus and coop to answer the question about ballers playing against in the 70`s ball players did not play against point fortin unless it was in the fA cup because as I recollect ball players was in the 3 rd division for the better part of the 70`s , one ball players product played coops Anthony Delpeche he was one best sweepers at one time but he was also one of the most under-rated, also Garfield Desilva was barataria ball players product

yes point fortin civic center was a very good team but like coops say back then they were a lot of very good teams and on any given night anyone could beat anyone it depended on who wanted it most. What made football great back then was the full community support that all they all enjoyed people took pride and felt good about there team win loss or draw..........I love when you guys talk about those teams I was blessed to be able to watch and play football from an early age teams like Creek he giant killers, Memphis, tesca, challengers, malvern maple, essex, point fortin civil, palo seco mayro, barataria ball players no matter where you went is was the community or village you had to beat

I would have KERN Simmons he use play in Aranquez Savanna with Stagg Bluffers, he also went to San Juan Govt Primary when Jap Brown used to coach them. To bad he when mad at an early age think he still a teenager when he became destitute but he kick ball with any foot, good theader of the ball, driblle and pass anyone from the area would no him, to be quite frankly a young kern and even better than young Latas

« on: March 14, 2008, 04:56:04 PM »
most people (footballers) of my era dislike Alvin because he had and push his own agenda, if you were not member alcons  went to st marys, qrc, fatima or any of those so call prestige schools it was pure fright down from alvin. In anton`s case he mostly got a bad rap because of his father he was a good player but hard his name not been corneal he may not have been given the amount of opportunities he has had, but to give jack he jacket Alvin was instrumental in getting for talented players a chance to get attend us colleges ..................................ah bet they hate David Nakid now that was their boy

Good credits one thing of sure Jack must have gotten him for cheap, on another note once again we about to change our style of play. Personally I always taught we should play a more south American style of play with mix of the British game this is the way we have played for very long time also our players are better suited for this that style of play, we just need to perfect it. Aldo it will be interesting to see what style the coach adopts

His weakness is Ball touch, composure and keeping possesion with no support      Those are key ingredients to becoming a sucessfull midfielder. The intercol game and top flight especially international is hole different game all together he is looking more and more like a foward to me........................................................................football is more a kick in the grass its life

Football / Re: National Football Teams!
« on: October 17, 2007, 05:05:39 PM »
there is nothing wrong with your post what system and style do we play is what was ask, well that depends on who is the present coach and which foreign team we are trying to emulate. I know back in the 70`s we played mostly 4 3 3 which most teams played at the time but we were able to had our own flair with players like steve david, de leon, sammy to name a few, as time went by we adopted the 4 4 2 system as did most of the world, our brand is mostly an attacting brand of football today under the current coach we play a very defendsive style of football.

the best has to be without a doubt maradonna, but Colllin Rock was also very good in my opinon he was even better than Lenson lewis and Nixon( Coops, Tallman ) what you guys think about that.

Football / Re: Joel Rahim TnT left back from late 70's ..early 80's
« on: September 22, 2007, 07:44:12 AM »
Nicolson nah I see nuff man use he. Now Suzie (Eliot) who play for ASL arguably a better player indeed. As for the Cosmos game (depends wich one) but all man look ordinary in that game                      If I remember right Clousel had one bright spot in the that game at the oval he pick a ball just outside the box shake right shake left beating the hold back line to include the great Franz beckenbauer then throw away the goal but is was sweet even Beckenbauer had to clap, as for sammy he share beat all day, rahim was a ball watcher all game , then it climax when the brazilian ah forget his name spit on the barbadian foward playing for pro pioneers and of course he the bajan cuff him in his face...........................................................I love to look back at those games

I remeber joel rahim he was good but not the best left back,Roderick (mandog) Nicolson who played with Vandykes, Challengers, Malvern and also pro Pioneers along with with Rahim was better, also the red man from Peterboro think his name was Elliot also was a better player. Not to take nothing away from Rahim he was ok but he did not look against New York Comos in the oval yes it nice to look back.........................................football is more than a kick in grass its life

Football / Re: The Russell Latapy Story
« on: August 17, 2007, 04:14:24 PM »
Latas accomplish somethings but he lacked discipline in his youth and as a professional. He could have accomplished so much more but he allowed a lifstyle that was not always conducive to him always being a professional. Just like Gazza did. Could have been so much more. So if you are going to praise him think about how much better he could have been and missed opportunities due to his undiscipline and unprofessional behaviors.  I doh care who vex wit meh. Just look at the big picture not what makes you fel good.
giggsy 11 success is also measured by what you overcame to get where you are today. We all know the story of latas younger days but can you truly say that he is not a great player or the greatest footballing talent that trinidad and Tobago has produced  who has puton that national team shirt I await your answer

big up to the producer of that video well done and thank you very much sir it brought tears to my eyes. Russell is a football genius and when he becomes coach of the soca warriors he will bring out the best in TnT footballers something which the present coach Wim can`t not do. Latas is the best we have ever produce not to take anything away from Dwight or any others but it is what it is latas is the boss .............................................
