The part about the stadium and training facilities says that it's excellent, so Bayern Munich choose it asi their pre-season base camp twice in the recent years.  :whip:

Germany also won't be a bad team to play against. I rather prepare for them than Brazil, Argentina, Italy or Spain.

We don't want to end up in any group that has Holland or the Czech Republic.

I disagree, because except when you would play against Germany, the crowd will be all yours! Especially against Holland (but you are right, it's better not to meet them too early... 8))

COOPS yuh right about that, but think about this first.
Why do we have a foreign coach and not a local one?

JAH BLESS RASTAFARI

Interesting point rastafari, because if u look at it like that, benhakker is actually representing Trinidad and Tobago, and he is not from here and was not there from the start.

In spite of that, he was able to help improve our team, so how different is it for (just come) players to do the same.

Interesting, very interesting......do we have a double standard?

ah love it!!

To me the main difference is, that a national coach is a job in the first place, becoming a national player is a reward.

I have put this one in another topic already, but actually it belongs here...

I got an answer from the TV sation: They say they cant put it on the website  :cursing:  it's possible to buy a tape or a dvd of the whole show for € 40,-  >:(
If I find the time, I'll put a translation of the written story they've published in the forum...

Nuff respect lizard I know about Germany because i live in Germany before, so i am not disrespecting the place, i am just informing people on this forum.
It's the same as if you were coming to T&T for the world cup but then again the world cup is not in T&T is it, so there is no point  mentioning the crime situation in T&T in your post because everybody done know.

Anyway big to Sankt Paulli the true left wing football team in Germany.

hi rastafari,

i'm still not sure if i got your point (my english is o.k., but not perfect...)
i agree that there are problem spots in bigger german cities, but in general people can walk around without any problems. no reason to be afraid if people come over.
about the situation in T&T i don't know. haven't been there since 1993...
by that time my friends told me to be careful in certain areas in POS, but in St. Augustin, Curepe, San Fernando I walked around all alone, being the only white person, and didn't feel uncomfortable at all. i heard crime ha become a bigger problem since...? on tobago as well..?
any way, T&T and germany are safer than the U.S. and will always be.
cheers

Frankfurt has a grat and new 60.000 people stadium. in the middle of germany. 2 hours to munich. 2 hors to köln and 2,5 hours to netherland. red light distrik, international bars, ganja and the most beatifull women in germany, oh forget the best nude beaches.

It have de most bandit and drug addicts as well. I live in frankfurt before so i do not know if things are different now scene. Keep the people informed about the good and bad things. Keep ah smoke fuh meh if ah link yuh up.

JAH BLESS RASTAFARI

I agree (just my personal opinion). I've lived near Frankfurt before and I was glad to move to Hamburg.
On the other hand you have drugs and crime in every major city. BUT:
Compared to the U.S., German cities are as save as Fort Knox! Main reason is that it's not part of German society to walk around with a gun on your hip! Like I said I have lived in Frankfurt and Hamburg before, now I work in Hannover, and I have never been victim of a crime and nore have my friends been. :whew:

Hi,

as we have some germans here around, switch on you TV tomorrow around 17:15, program ZDF and watch the "Sport-Reportage". There is a report on T&T!

I was sitting in front of TV and waiting - they did show a story about chaos at 1. FC Kaiserslautern instead... :(
Maybe next Sunday!

Only one week delay - we doin Trini style already :rotfl:
Good story, nice pictures, interviews with Latapy, Yorke, Stern, Beenhacker and others.
Some information about the islands and its people, some history bout T&T football. Again: Good report!

No answer from the TV station yet (I asked them to but de clip on their website...), but here's the written story (you need to understand German though  ???)

anybody know if the Reeperbahn in every city?..or in a particular one?..i did see it in one of the videos.

Every city has a red light district. most are kind of grubby though. there's only one Reeperbahn, that's in Hamburg ("sinniest mile of the world") It's located in St. Pauli, right next to the "Millerntor" home pitch of F. C. ST. PAULI!!!
Besides for women its also known for music clubs (the Beatles started there career there) and musicals. :violin:

Hi guys, from the UK!

Yes, you'll be all over the place - not just in one city ... it's a stupid of way of doing it, but that's FIFA for you!

I'm a footy fan in Bristol (Bristol City's my team) and have also been over to Germany quite a lot.  I've checked out all 12 venues, with details of cheap places to stay, how to find the grounds and all the rest.

Have a look at my website The World Cup in Germany .com and see what you think ... I hope you'll find it helpful

Very good site. If you add the link to the "real" fotball club in Hamburg, F.C. St. Pauli that is (even an English section), to your site, I'd say it's excellent!  ;)

do we need to learn basic german to come to germany? or would english get us by?

As the matches will be in the big cities, you'll get by with English. And fortunately the German word for beer is bier and is pronounced the same way. chicken is haenchen, KFC is KFC, french fries is pommes (pommes rot weiss is frech fries with ketchup ans mayonaise), hotel is hotel, subway is u-bahn. that should make it

ya lieing!? u sure!?

I serious.
For Germany and TT that's probably what they hope and for Netherlands probably what they expect (not really liked by Germans but a lot of respect!!)

A warm welcome should be beyond question. German people associate fun and groove with TT. Tobago is stiil a popular holiday destination
