Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has slammed Manchester United's methods of breaking up his side's play after they lost at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.

Wenger is angry after losing at Old Trafford

Wenger has spoken out after the defeat, claiming Sir Alex Ferguson's tactics were nothing short of "anti-football" - and he believes that is worse than Eduardo's alleged "dive" against Celtic in midweek.

The Gunners' boss launched a thinly veiled attack on United midfielder Darren Fletcher, who he claims is in the team purely to make tackles and is the chief culprit.

However, the match stats show that out of the seven players who committed the most fouls, five were from Arsenal.

"I have seen a player who plays on the pitch only to make fouls,'' he said. "For me, this is a point that is more urgent than diving.

"The players who are never punished, who get out of the game without a yellow card. I think it is more anti-football than a player who did what Eduardo did.

"Look at how many deliberate fouls some players get away with. That's a bigger problem because it cuts the flow of the game. And people pay to see football, not free-kicks.''

lol .

I am starting to  wonder how many  of u all actually interact with tobagonians on a serious level or have spent any time in Tobago.
As i have learned in this life ppl only understand certain things when they are in a similar situation.

anyways.......TRINI in no way and by no stretch of the imagination represents the fact that we are a TWIN island republic. trinbago or tnt or any such names does a better job. thats the point i trying to make here.

i still laughing at the uproar the express caused when they had the headline " Bronze 4 Tobago".

Why the big disagreement, like it or not, we are known as Trindadians or Trini's through out the world, not Tobagonians or Trinbagonians...I know people from Bago who does say they are Trini, cause that's exactly what they are. You self probably sung "Trini To The Bone".....Let me be quiet, before we argue over the name of that song too, people on here might want it changed to something that suits them rather than the mass public of "Trinis"

David Rudder's "Trini To The Bone"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VCYlLG8VR8 listen the words

So then y is there a trini dialect  and a bago dialect. or y   when trinis come bago some of them get the nickname trini whlie when  a tobagonian goes trinidad they get d nickname bago. ( ah jus being general to make mi point).
I am not trini .   I am from trinidad and tobago but I am a tobagonian and as a tobagonian  my identity is a bit different . my speech is the most obvious.  and for information purposes david  rudder did realise his error and there is a version of the song that  has tobago stuck in there some where with some scotch tape.

Its  interesting when foreigners ask ,where in jamaica is trinidad located. lots of  ppl get annoyed hmmmm.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has identified his club's pursuit of Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas as a ''special case'' and claims that it is ''no secret'' that the Spanish champions want to sign him.

The captain is a wanted man.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been unimpressed by the Catalan side's attempts to sign his captain this summer, with reports of a £30m bid surrounding the Spaniard for months.

And Laporta said: ''I apologise if I bothered Mr Wenger, because I respect him very highly and the job he is doing. But he knows perfectly that the case of Cesc Fabregas is special.

''He is a Catalan player from our youth team and it is not a secret that we love this player.''

Fabregas, who missed Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Manchester United because of a hamstring injury, was picked up from the Nou Camp academy for around £500,000 by Wenger in September 2003.

He has made it clear in the past that he would relish a return to his former club, but has also remained faithful to Arsenal and, most importantly, Wenger.

This is a plea for the trini in action thread to  be changed so that it represents the fact that we are  a twin island republic.  when   minister peter taylor can address a Tobago audience and say when he uses the word Trinidad that that includes tobago and actually try to defend that statement  when ppl made ah fuss. I realise  something is seriously wrong

Good drama, tempo and atmosphere but really poor quality game.

Easily the sloppiest performance I've seen from Man U in a long time, if not of all time.

Arsenal played in fits and starts, and Gallas was a monster. Diaby if not for the own goal coulda been a good candidate for man of the match.

Arshavin is not fit..

Man U has no creative spark and lacks real individual quality going forward- they never unlocked Arsenal until injury time when the quality of the game dropped to the level of T&T vs El Salvador.

That penalty call was garbage...If the ref made the call within the rules of the game, then the rule is garbage...Rooney was not impeded from doing anything- by the time the keeper touched him, he had already toed the ball into the stands....

Neither team looked anything like tops in Europe today- really shabby game overall...On to the Milan Derby.

kicker i have to agree with u. the quality was AWOL. yet at the  end of the game the commentator said that 96 mins of football is why the epl is d best league. huh?

lots of drama but not much quality. arshavin  hav a wicked bullet but  how can u give a man like that all that time and space?

New-look Real Madrid begin their bid to wrest the Primera Division title back off Barcelona on Saturday night when they host Deportivo La Coruna, with coach Manuel Pellegrini promising a season of entertainment for the fans.

For the second successive campaign, Madrid begin with a match against Depor, but the side that goes out at the Bernabeu will be barely recognisable from the one that entered the fray at the Riazor 12 months.

Of the XI that took the field a year ago, only Raul, Iker Casillas and Marcelo look to have a chance of starting this weekend, with Ruud van Nistelrooy, Mahamadou Diarra, Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Gabriel Heinze and Arjen Robben all missing from Pellegrini's 18-man squad for tomorrow's match through either lack of fitness, suspension or because they have been sold.

The two other starters from the Riazor, Gonzalo Higuain and Guti, have been included for this season's curtain-raiser, but they look set to be on the bench following this summer's big-money arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso.

With it being a totally different Madrid side that lines up against Depor, the capital club will also be hoping it will be a totally different result, having lost 2-1 last time around.

However, Pellegrini admits it could be a tough night for his side, with Depor keeping faith with the majority of the team that finished seventh last season.

"They have a similar team to last year's. It will be difficult to beat them and we'll have to give everything we've got,'' Pellegrini said.

After spending in excess of 250million euros on new faces this summer, much will be expected of Madrid this season, both in terms of performances and results.

And Pellegrini is expecting his expensively-assembled side to deliver, saying: "Real Madrid will fight for every title. We are going to see a very entertaining team throughout the year and we are going to enjoy it.''

Pellegrini is also backing world-record signing Ronaldo to show the fans what he can do following a fairly quiet pre-season that saw him score just three times - two from penalties - in nine appearances since his £80million move from Manchester United.

"I think that we are judging him at a stage of the season when nobody is at 100%. I think we are going to see a great Cristiano Ronaldo this season, starting with Saturday's game,'' the former Villarreal coach said.

Pellegrini's options for this weekend's match were reduced by two on Friday following the departures of Robben to Bayern Munich and Wesley Sneijder to Inter Milan.

Despite those two sales though, plus speculation of a possible renewed bid for Bayern winger Franck Ribery, Pellegrini does not believe there will be any more new additions this summer.

"I knew from the start that the club had to sell some players. They (Robben and Sneijder) are very good players but I can't complain. I have two players for every position and I think the squad is complete,'' he said.

Depor's seventh-placed finish last year was their highest since the 2003/2004 season, when the Galicians secured third spot.

The current team may not be on a par with that `SuperDepor' outfit, but coach Miguel Angel Lotina has brought stability and the club hopes to compete for a top-six finish this term.

However, striker Riki, who came up through the youth ranks at Madrid, concedes his side are definitely underdogs for their opening game of the season, saying: "They are superior in terms of their squad and their budget.''

Antonio Tomas, Adrian Lopez and Lassad Nouioui all miss out through injury for Depor.
