Aside ---- Prior to todays revision

Uraguay #17
TNT      #53
Australia #54

And people boldface to state that if Uraguay play TNT is a "no-brainer"...... i doh know about that... on any given day TNT could produce the magic....  :chilling:

How come in Trinidad, police never have to surround any team no matter if we win lose or draw???

Hog say to Pig.... " wait an' see, your turn soon come"

Trini version,

I Love Football.  Sadly, Football doh love me.. :'(

Ah play it plenty but was never able to get past de water cooler in a real match.  After a while ah finally figure out it wasn't because all dem different coaches didn't like meh...it was because ah was a blasted SHITHONG!!  ;D

Dat doh stop meh from supportin meh teams 1000% and talkin bout de game doh.  In oddah words..all de SHITHONG I is...ah still love de game.

Palos ah have to disagree...

Consider if Ronaldinho lose ah ACL...(knock on wood)... he cyah make dem nice spanner etc... he aye no sh*thound... he jus cyah do what he want to do on de field... he would have reached a high level of skill buh cyah perform... no less a footballer is de one who for some other reason could not reach the level of skill but who love de game in his heart.... de man who fight the soccer fight sometimes understands and sees so much more than the man who had a lil' skill an never develop his talent to the fullest.... Football need skilled players, fans to support, waggonists to jump on an off, and young kids to dream. Play on the field does not the footballer make....... that just makes for good entertainment...  :chilling:

Football / Re: Bring '74 Team, Strike Squad & '05 Team Together
« on: November 21, 2005, 04:11:33 PM »
Tntians shouldn't worry.... getting the teams together would be great... maybe before leaving for the world cup (timing is everyting)..... but the truth is that we build on the foundations of those who passed before... and this team has laid a foundation for those to come... an' each generation form a link in de chain.... so twenty years from now we'll be wanting the next few teams that make de world cup to get together.... this is a happy time to be alive...  :chilling:

Football / Re: Goal Keeping
« on: November 21, 2005, 03:57:27 PM »
Carenage Boy things to consider...

2) Jack is in form

3) Shaka is a bench warmer for his team while Jack is a starter.

4) Jack is seeing more action right now in all depts.

Hislop, just back from World Cup qualifying celebrations with Trinidad and Tobago, and preferred to the fit-again Northern Ireland star Roy Carroll, looked stunned and his positioning had to be questioned, but his entire defence had dropped off, leaving him cruelly exposed.

I actually wrote a page in reply to some of the comments then lost it ..... so this will be much shorter...

Touches, you could really write,  :applause: :notworthy: :applause: so when you put it down people does take note...

1) Shaka has made a career of going from backup to "preferred" .... not a word used lightly. I offer several criteria to judge goalkeeping talent - (very different from efficiency and or effectiveness).
**** skill
**** ball sense
**** speed
**** timing
**** experience
If both keepers are judged on the above i think the argument is a short one. it's like someone saying Spann or Edwards better than Latas.... believe me its that bad....

2) Pres. south alumni so we doh big up north men jus so... from de first intercol i see de man play, then to play against him - you have to understand that yuh doh go against a Shaka Hislop thinking is ah easy day wuk... yuh say yuh prayers, try all kinda smart ting and yuh know yuh bringing yuh best. Dey call it an intimidation factor.

3) I like the inlangibles that Shaka brings... eg. no ball pass... de man diving for offside goal.. anything... forwards like to see dem kinda ting... happy forwards make happy goals---- i like the symphergy... (synergy in symphony).... because the second half of the Mexico game was the best i've ever seen TNT play.

4) Think crescendo! Porous, porous, First goal TNT USA - last match...... crescendo builds..... Goal in de Mexico match .... Ah hear it coming.... Bahrain goal......... getting louder........... Miscalculation in de Bahrain on the high incoming....... crescendo complete.

Still, Jack get us here and we thankfull, an if Shaka could take de bench in good spirits ah could surely stand by and accept de coach's decision ....

disclaimer... mi wife see jack in action against de usa an figure he save us from a real licking....

Football / Re: Shaka Hislop prevents Robbie Keane from scoring
« on: November 20, 2005, 08:02:41 PM »
where the hell he was going on that first goal, all the way to the top of the box to do what!!!!

de man was closing de angle...his back three were wide and square, an dem fellas turning an shooting wind... it was a good ("clever") goal but shaka look bad cause he get caught in no man's land... then Shaka show some real ball sense in going up for de corner in de last play of de game... de goalkeeper misjudge de corner an goal score.... shaka make real highlights wid dat one... now if yuh have any more chupid questions or yuh jus want soccer 101 keep posting those idiotic questions... :chilling:

pretty bad reaction from bahrain..... no excuse.... on tv one saw projectiles flying across the screen.... for a small nation it was a bad example of fan behavior and control.... what they needed to do was apologize instead of protesting the match.... wrong and strong.... clearly football didn't come out on top in this one... buh who cyah hear mus' feel....  :chilling:

I said Birchall is a League two player..... maybe a lower Championship player because certain basics of the game at his age he more than likely will not master  :shameonyou:enough to make significant improvement.Good heart but a spade is a spade :salute:

a toe is a toe buh if you look at birchall mexico & honduras goals you may want him for premiership.... de man could score.... no debate on that :chilling:

doh think short term .... but believe that a couple kids still in college will be scouted... these guys way ahead having given camps in the country etc both at the administrative and playing levels...  :chilling:

Football / Tough Road on & off Field..
« on: November 18, 2005, 07:36:36 AM »
The following article highlights,
1. Opposition to TNT qualification through the award of 3.5 places for Concacaf - It ignores the fact that the last place has to be fought between an Asian representative and a Concacaf representative.
2. Although acknowledging (grudgingly) that Mexico is a world soccer power it fails to address the fact that TNT beat Mexico 2-1 recently. Instead insinuating that Uraguay would have almost certainly beat TNT head on.
3.Certainly shows that the powers that be have helped the entire Concacaf region through the qualification process.
4. Also shows that we still have a tough road ahead in getting the respect off the field that we deserve...  :chilling:

Taken from TriniLimeManual.... Section 14 subsection 4.ii.3a

... All disgruntled supporters who have watched the socawarriors advance to the world cup should be 1) offered a carib, red strip or heiny in that order
              2) tolerated to the point of ad nauseum
              3) treated as normal fans who will forever check on the future progress of de socwarriors even if dey have to carry de licks to de grave. .... :chilling:
