FK you probably right.

But I remember that when Anil said that we were weak in defense, somebody said he was referring to Cip.

I know he was RB for Fatima in 1985. I had no idea he went to Trinity and I dk what year it was.

So, I'll take ur word for it.

Peace,
VB

wing backs on that team were larry and netto
central defenders mamba and farhina
mid-findlay, lawson, ramdoo forget the 4th man but pretty sure it wasn't cip
scotty anil.
i recall Cip playing 1st eleven as a midfielder when i was in form1, was the year fatima teams wear umbro kits from giants right up

De bess youth team I could remember is de one wit Shaka dem.

Shaka, Kona, Dwight, Sherwood, Wendell Moore, Regis, Kevin Moze, Mutty Haynes etc.

Pressha.

Shaka would have been about three years before most of those fellas.

But it was still a helluva squad (I think in 1987) Yorke, Latas, Rocke, Faustin, Hutson Charles, Shaka, Sheldon Bennete, Neal Desilva.

VB

Actually neither Yorke, Neil DeSilva or Hudson Charles was on that team.  It was Latas, Colin Rocke, Sabba, Kurt Solomon, Sheldon Bennett, Ross Russell (Shaka and Clem Elder was on the bench), Clint Marcelle, Sean "Yellows" Constantine, Reny, Colvin Hutchinson, Carlos Lee, Ainsly Weeks etc...

Now that was a squad, only if certain men wasn't smoking weed and if only we had a better coach.....

No evidence to support that weed talk, no way latas was on that, actually must have been to be displaying skills like that.  So you possibly correct

Didn't know Sheldon was on that team  Faustin was on that one, That Solomon had a bad tournament had a nightmare tournament

THink people might be combining 2 teams here  the u-16 Maritime  financial team bennett, legendre, Kona Yorke Ivan sampson, Neverson, Arima Keeper name??
Then the u-19 was  latas, Marcelle,  faustin, shaka(bench) Ross Russell ,Hutchy, Yellow man, Rocke, saba as u mentioned wanna say Lee had a broken leg and sit out.

Wait sampson never play Sr team did he?
Nope, Ivan never played for the snr team.  No combination, what I stated is fact.  Sheldon was on the Maritime Life U16 tournament, scored all them damn goals and Jack, yes, Jack ordered him up on the U19 team for the Concacaf tournament.

You are correct regarding Dr. Carlos Lee.  He broke his leg in an exhibition with the national team in Aranguez Savannah but they did take him to the CFU tournament with the broken leg as a goodwill gesture.

FK, yuh know yuh football boy...

Well Ivan haffi be one of the first men mentioned here cause he truly was a very gifted dangerous  lefty
funny thing Najar playthe man at left back.
Dr. Lee yes- respect to tha man peeps always seem to mention Mutty and Kerry on that Arima team but to me he was the backbone the creative player.

Marlon 'Brady' Wiltshire
Louis Legendre san juan
Colin Rocke, Darin Lewis(maybe he play once or twice)

CK1,
I am familiar with Peterborough. Chicken Leotaud was their manager. I almost joined them. They had Norris Taylor(GK) before he went to the army. "Cedars" Murrell, Garvin Ochoa, "Spanger" Williams, Bell, Six. Kendall Walkes, Tom Phillips and Guyadeen. Nice squad. But The the club could not keep them.

shoot i forget bout Walkes he was real good, hell of a football player.

Superstar Rangers and Caledonia was around in the 90's

Incidentally up in the east Eddie Hart league had real teams playing U-14 right up.

Aston Villa,
Parliament
House of Dread
Trincity United

Dont forget the big side Brazil... form San Juan.... Even Trendsetters Hawks had a nice lil run at times in Eddie Hart.

Superstar Rangers was actually form the 80's... well they were called Rangers at first back then, played in all green

I remember Trendsetter Hawks from Eddie Hart, they toped the U-16 league the couple of seasons when I was at BBP

brazil no doubt was a boss team more in the youth divs
best team was upstarts,
also tringrove, spain, santos, el dorado had a good run for a while also

Then another comedy...the game was stopped as the net for one of the goal posts was loose in the back. Stern John then tries to climb up and fix the net. The crowd shouting "that is not your wuk" Then eventually the groundsman Ralphie appears and Whitley has to lift him up and put him on his shoulders to help tie the net.....( You ever see shit so)

Our own players chasing a goal hadda give man boost and help groundsman tie up goal post net with 10 minutes left to play.

Quote

This real jokey-Is Ralphie yuh call dey.  Long me ain't hear that man name-he about 60 years old by now

How does dat work exactly?

Den after he leff, Dwight decide he tekkin everyting.  Free kick, corner......ah even see he tek a fleckin goal kick and all.

a goal kick, that funny, who was that keeper?  Ah hear yuh wha yuh saying keon doing them well but technically that kick was better suited for a right footer.

Football / Re: Thread for the T&T vs England Game (01-Jun-2008).
« on: June 01, 2008, 09:02:49 PM »
the defending was poor, way too much room england get and we get punished for it.  after a while they stop even trying to attack we left side with beckham and just went after cupid, men wasn't marking tight in the box, not attacking the ball in the box.
I assuming cupid have some kinda skills or else he wouldn't have been on the field, he definitely get some hard lessons today. Say what maybe it go help him in the long run.  Julius James need a run in the squad asap, he shoulda been there long tim ago.
Hope KJ ain't hurt too bad
Hyland is a good player, clean 1st touch, confidence(spanner) trying to get on the ball and make things happen,  hyland and whitley only men stand out to me
Cupid also-keep ya head and keep working hard.

84
Hutson Charles, rush, Mcgrath and dalglish

Football / Re: allyuh educate me....re: football styles
« on: January 05, 2008, 10:54:27 AM »
what are the different football styles  that exist and what is the underlying characteristic of each individual style

Each individual style bro. Wow!  ;D

Style may be delivered (or viewed) in a variety of ways.

For example someone may be speaking about the simply short passing with combinations & movement.

Someone else could be talking about possession of the ball, but without any real penetration.

Another may be discussing looking to win the ball (defending) immediately as the ball is lost and in the opposition half.

Others defending deep and counter.

Some teams are known for looking to attack (push forward) once in possession and their attack may be varied (long deep passes, short quick passes, dribbling etct )

Jack Charlton may say his team played deep into the opposition half towards a big man who knocks down or flick on for supporting players. If that not on play to corner flag and fight for it down dey.

Style in football means many things to many people and different things to different people.

Some teams does just play plain shit  ;D

the above by Observer i think answers the question.
-ball possesion--keep it, move it, triangles , players moving, make the opponent head spin and kill em with a  deadly thru ball
-direct-win it fast as possible, get it forward close to the opponent goal and battle it out
-and then yuh get behind the ball stay compact,  and catch the opponent on the break

well playig shit-see Arima Snr Comp, Tringrove, Gustine,-just a quick friendly shot at some fellow forumites. ;D

Palos yuh sayin if Gally did select Nakhid we was goin Italy?

Nakhid yes.  Nakhid AND Skinner....even more so.

Agree with this-i like gally but not playing nahkid seem real strange to me at that time, he shoulda been on that team without a doubt.

Anton was the youngest person ever to play for TT at 16 (or was it 15?). That record was broken in the mid 80s by Clint Marcelle, also 15.

Most ppl dont't  know but Anton and Dexter Skeene were training with the Strike Squad for quite a while. They probably should have been on the team. However, the team was made up of mostly Def. Force and Trintoc players(they tended to snub the "College Boys.") Nothing new, Colin Rocke and Graeme Rodriguez.

One day whilst at a training camp in Puerto Rico, the fellas went shoppng dowtown. The bus end up leaving Dexter and Anton. (Actually they were just late).

Them fellas come back and buss some good cuss on everybody. They also cuss up Gally. Rumour had it, that Anton thought his father should have  been Coach. Anton let Gally know what he thought of him as a Coach.:-)  Well needless to say, these players were consequently dropped. They did however play for TT post Gally :-)

I saw Dexter play for CIC and FK, I believe he was on the national youth team with Ronnie Simmons. One of my regrets is that I never saw Corneal play.

Peace,
VB

yeah both were on that team, although i never really rate skeene that much, pollonais was way better. ah go give tanna he due the fella coulda flat out play.
