Coaching the USA finally catches up to Bob Bradley!
By FF

It was bound to happen and against Ghana it did, perhaps a bit earlier than it really should have. Bob Bradley just fell behind one too many times and his exciting run worth a lot of praise came to an end against a solid Ghana team that deserved the 2-1 win in extra time.

Still, it's difficult to ignore the glaring problems that set Bob Bradley up for what can reasonably be seen as premature failure. He fought incredibly hard and showed amazing resilience, but in the end, many of the reasons that Bob Bradley is now out of the World Cup can be traced back to sh!t side USA.

Sh!t teams are often made into scapegoats and the targets of misguided frustration, but in the case of Team USA it's clear that blame is deserved. In the Ghana game alone, their mistakes were blatant and lethal.

In spite of changing the lineup that luckily and barely scraped by over Algeria, this sh!t squad showed no spine. He even strengthened the team by reinserting trini-born midfielder Ricardo Clark and forward Robbie Findley. He had no other choice. Nevertheless bob Bradley ended up allowing yet another early goal in just the fifth minute of play because the US defenders is all a bunch of labass dogs. Bradley tried all how to adjust the team to go for de win, but as dey say doh waste your pearls on swine.

These issues are hardly new, though. As far back as the World Cup qualifying campaign, Bob Bradley has been giving up early goals, a clear sign of trying to work with a labourer side. All the US players have been proving their shortcomings, and Bradley has had no other choice to stick with them time and time again. And so the early goals kept coming, and against Ghana -- a team that only scored off of two penalty kicks in the entirety of the group stage -- it ended. After the match, Chief Labass Dog Landon Donovan said the U.S. was just "too naive," which can really only be taken as code for their unacceptable level of talent and skill for a team coached by Bob Bradley.

The HATE FOR USA campaign has been around for years now and has only been dismissed by the U.S. federation because the team keep getting lucky and rolling along in spite of the masons and carpenters posing as football players and their chronically low skill levels. Now that the rolling has stopped and HATERS everywhere are left euphoric over a favorable path to a World Cup semifinal squandered, it's time to throw waist and party like never before and for Bob Bradley it is time to bring on a team who can fully realize the potential (which, to be clear, is far from limitless) that Bob Bradley has. Or at the very least won't constantly serve as a handicap to a coach ready to mature. (I propose Crab Connection or Wasa Clean and White)

LA GALAXY AGREE TO TERMS WITH MIDFIELDER CHRIS BIRCHALL

CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, July 8, 2009) – The LA Galaxy today agreed to terms with Trinidad and Tobago midfielder Chris Birchall. The 25-year-old received his P1 Visa on Monday and will officially be added to the club’s roster upon the receipt of his International Transfer Clearance (ITC), which cannot happen until the transfer window re-opens on Wednesday, July 15. Therefore, the first game for which Birchall will be eligible to play for the club is July 16 at New York. Per team and league regulations, details of the contract were not released.

“Chris is a player that I’ve tracked for a number of years,” Galaxy General Manager and Head Coach Bruce Arena said. “He is an experienced midfielder with good qualities on both sides of the ball who I feel he will be able to contribute immediately as we push for a playoff position.”

Prior to joining the Galaxy, Birchall had spent his entire club career in the England with the exception of a short loan stint in Scotland during the 2007/08 campaign. Born in Stafford, England, Birchall began his club career with Port Vale, playing nearly 80 league games. He made his debut for the club during the 2001/02 season and spent five seasons at Vale Park before being sold to Coventry City in August 2006.

Birchall went on to score twice in nearly 30 games during his time with Coventry City, while also enjoying loan spells with St. Mirren in Scotland and Carlisle United. In January 2009, Birchall signed a contact through the end of the season with Brighton & Hove Albion of England’s League One. He helped the club avoid relegation, playing in nine games in the midfield as Brighton finished three points clear of relegation to League Two.

An established international, Birchall has appeared 32 times for Trinidad and Tobago, scoring four times. Eligible to play for the country as his mother was born there, Birchall helped T&T reach the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, the country’s first-ever appearance in the tournament. He scored in a 1-1 draw with Bahrain in the first leg of the two nation’s World Cup Qualifying playoff in November 2005. The Soca Warriors won the second leg 1-0 to book their spot at the World Cup.

Birchall played in all three of his country’s games at the tournament, starting and playing the full 90 minutes in each. This year, he has played in four of Trinidad & Tobago’s five CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, starting three of the matches.

Sex-slave, Lady rapes man for three days

A hairdresser from the small Russian town of Meshchovsk has subdued a man who tried to rob her shop, and then raped him for three days in the utility room, Life.ru reports.
The incident occurred on Saturday, March 14. The working day was coming to an end at a small hairdressers, when a man armed with a gun rushed in and demanded the day’s earnings.
The frightened employees and customers agreed to fulfill his demand, but when the shop’s owner, 28-year-old Olga, was handing the money to the robber, she suddenly knocked him down on the floor and then tied him up with a hairdryer cord. The 32-year-old Viktor couldn’t have known that the woman was a yellow belt in karate.
Olga locked the unlucky robber in the utility room and told her colleagues that she was going to call the police – but didn’t do so. When everybody left home, she approached the man and ordered him to ‘take of his underpants’ threatening to hand him over to the police if he refuses to cooperate.

After that Olga raped her hostage for three long days. She chained Viktor to the radiator with pink furry handcuffs and fed him Viagra.
She eventually let the man go on Monday, March 16, saying: “Get out of my sight!”
Viktor went straight to hospital as his genitals were injured, and then to the police.
Olga was resentful when she was taken by the police.
“What a bastard,” the woman said about Viktor. “Yes, we had sex a couple of times. But I’ve bought him new jeans, gave him food and even gave him 1.000 roubles (around $ 30) when he left.”
After that she wrote a notice to the police claiming the man tried to rob her shop.
Both Olga and Viktor may now face prison terms. The woman could be convicted of rape, while the man of robbery.

Football / Is this our deepest player pool ever?
« on: December 02, 2008, 05:16:12 PM »
In my opinion, long time national teams almost used to pick theyselves... of course it used to have one or two men (Nakhid etc) who woulda get blank...

but now de board full up with one setta argument about who picking who and who cyah make and who should make...

I realise now that a combination of factors have possibly created in my opinion our deepest player pool ever...

1. More opportunities abroad
2. More football - The Pro League/Super League/Toyota Cup/120Y Cup/Passa Passa Cup
3. Concacaf competition
4. Past national coaches varied selections/policies
5. The Blacklist

I hesitate to add NCAA college football as a factor as lately this has been to the detriment of our National player pool...

However some might say while the player pool is wide... it ent deep, because we throwing a setta "donkey" to play leftback in horse race...

Injury-hit Edwards aims to soldier on in Sunderland's cause.
By: Simon Williams (Guardian.UK).
[/size]

Debut top flight season has been a disaster but winger believes that he is ready to return

A Sunderland reserve team game at a cold and blustery Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground in Hetton-le-Hole, County Durham, is possibly one of the last places you would expect to find someone from the sun-drenched Caribbean islands of Trinidad & Tobago. Then again, the Premier League is not a normal destination for former soldiers who volunteered for armed service before realising they had the ability to play professional football.
Carlos Edwards' journey has been a colourful one. It started in his humble home town of Diego Martin on the island of Trinidad, included two years in the army and has taken in a World Cup in Germany, as well as unglamorous stints with Wrexham and Luton Town.

"I don't want to make a judgment on the way other people's lives work out," said Edwards. "But because of the way my career has gone, the progress I've made and what I've got now compared to back then, I appreciate where I am perhaps more than anybody."

Sadly, at 29 and having taken so long to reach his destination, Edwards' first season in the Premier League has been a disaster with injuries limiting him to just five first-team appearances, his last at the start of December against Derby County when he broke his leg.

"I've been working all my professional career to get to this level, to experience the Premier League and to have that taken away when there was so much excitement at the start of the season was difficult," said the winger, whose run out for the reserves has put him in contention to face Chelsea tomorrow. "But you have to be strong and deal with it.

"Disappointing things happen in life, just like good things do and just like challenges present themselves. Before I got to this point with Sunderland, people would ask me whether I'd prefer to play in the Premier League or the World Cup. I used to say, 'well, you know, the World Cup would be great', but then that dream came true and then in the course of a year or so, I was doing both.

"Then the injuries happened. So, for me, playing in the Premier League this year just wasn't to be, but hopefully we'll survive, which I'm sure we will because I'm a positive guy."

His absence has been acutely felt by Sunderland, as their manager, Roy Keane, who paid Luton Ł1.4m to sign him last January, has admitted.

"It's only since he returned to training that you realise how much we have missed him," said Keane, who was there to watch Edwards' reserve comeback on Wednesday night. I'm sure we would have scored a few more goals because he is one of those players who likes to get behind teams. We've got a lot of players who look nice on the ball, but we haven't really been able to hurt teams. Carlos is a threat, even on a bad day. He has been a massive loss to us."

Edwards claims his army training gave him his determination to succeed, as well as the ability to deal with his manager's occasional outbursts because "there are scarier sergeant majors".

He added: "I'm a military man. It turned me into an independent person. It made me strong mentally, as well as physically, and they teach you things that mean you're always prepared, always ready and you're always 10 steps ahead of your enemy.

"Moving into football, I tried to put all that into effect and I always try to think a few steps ahead of the opposition we're playing against. Sometimes it doesn't always go to plan, but it helps having that mentality that you're going to try and do things in a positive way."

Given that they are just two points above the drop zone, Sunderland need to stay positive and Edwards, like any good solider, will fight to the end. "There are many players at this club who have worked their way up to this point," he said. "I don't know whether that gives us more drive or determination to stay here, but what I do know is that it gives an edge to what I'm doing; I don't want to go back to the Championship, I don't want to go back down. I won't let it enter my mind that we're going to get relegated. I'm just going to try my best to keep Sunderland floating in the Premiership."

Football / Nastiest players to ever kick ah ball!
« on: February 27, 2008, 03:44:19 PM »
That thread that gone off-course about Eduardo have meh thinking who is the nastiest men to ever play the game...

Let we hear allyuh thoughts and stories

I going with "Doctor Death" Pablo Alfaro!!

Check he finish... "WILDNESS"  :rotfl:

Partner in crime to Javi Navarro, Alfaro is probably the cleverest football hard-man in football history, Yes, whilst self-confessed 'hardest man in Britain' Robbie Savage was concentrating on how he could make himself look any more ridiculous by getting that Armani tattoo, Alfaro has busy getting qualified as a doctor. So what's a pleasant, intelligent doctor doing in this list ? Well, whilst he may be a friendly bloke off the pitch, like many other rational men before him, just put a football jersey on him and send him out to defend and he becomes a different beast. And the tag he's earned from media and fans alike may give you a clue as to his style of play... "Doctor Death". Alfaro was best known for his 5 years at Sevilla from 2001 to 2006, where he forged a fearsome partnership with Javi Navarro. His fierce aerial challenges, with flailing elbows everywhere, were his speciality, and by the time he left Sevilla for Racing Santander he'd amassed more red cards than other La Liga player. Such a reputation led to him becoming public enemy number one with opposing fans, with the Spanish media always keen to dig up an old Alfaro story before his matches against the top clubs. And the best of these stories will always be from 2004 and a Copa del Rey tie between Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, where Spanish daily sports paper Marca famously showed a photo of Alfaro with his hands shoved up an Atletico forward's bottom. Now that's what you call tight man-to-man marking.

He give the man a colon exam oui!

La Liga Africans no longer occupy foreign berths

MADRID, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Africans playing in the Primera Liga will no longer occupy berths allocated for non-European Union players after a change in regulations approved by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

The RFEF gave the green light to the change after consulting with FIFA and UEFA following inquiries by Real Madrid and Getafe as to whether their African players could be treated as European Union workers in accordance with an agreement signed in 2000.

The Cotonu accord, which was signed in Benin by the EU and the 77 members of the Association of African, Caribbean and Pacific states in 2000 and ratified by the Spanish parliament in April last year, agreed to treat workers from those nations as EU citizens.

At present Primera Liga clubs are limited to three non-European Union players registered in their squads, but the new move will free up a number of places occupied by Africans.

The move would also apply to future signings from the Caribbean and the Pacific.

'From now on players from these countries that play in Spain will be considered as coming from the European Union as will those that sign in the future,' RFEF spokesman Jorge Carretero was quoted as saying in sports daily Marca on Saturday.

Players affected by the move include Real Madrid's Mali midfielder Mahamadou Diarra, Barcelona's Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o and Getafe's Nigerian forward Ikechukwu Uche.

Allyuh could believe Abedi Pele even appealing??

Pele set up FC Nania back in his homeland 10 years ago and last month the club stood on the verge of reaching the country's top flight for the first time. Going into the last day of the season, Nania were level on points with Great Mariners, with both sides knowing goal difference could be crucial in deciding who gets promoted. Mariners duly found the net 28 times without reply in an obviously above-board victory over Mighty Jets - only to be pipped to the top by Nania, who squeezed past Okwawu United 31-0. Both matches had been 1-0 at half-time.

Somehow sensing foul play was afoot, the Ghanaian FA launched an immediate investigation and quickly concluded that money had changed hands at half-time in both games. It demoted and fined all four teams and suspended 46 players and officials for a year. All have protested their innocence and vowed to appeal, not least Pele, who insists that his side's second-half rampage can be explained by the simple fact that Okwawu were down to seven men following genuine injuries to four players, including their first- and second-choice keepers.

"My contention is that while the scoreline may raise eyebrows, it doesn't provide irrefutable proof that the match was fixed," he howled. "I've never even met the Okwawu chairman," continued Pele, who also claimed he'd left the stadium long before the match's curious denouement - which, of course, means that when his brother, Solar Ayew, described him being carried shoulder-high across the pitch by jubilant fans after the final whistle he was gravely mistaken.

This convo go set it up nice.... fellaz and ladies tell meh if this not true

Sally: We are just going to be friends, OK?
Harry: Great, friends. It's the best thing...You realize, of course, that we can never be friends.
Sally: Why not?
Harry: What I'm saying is - and this is not a come-on in any way, shape, or form - is that men and women can't be friends, because the sex part always gets in the way.
Sally: That's not true. I have a number of men friends and there is no sex involved.
Harry: No, you don't.
Sally: Yes, I do.
Harry: No, you don't.
Sally: Yes, I do.
Harry: You only think you do.
Sally: You're saying I'm having sex with these men without my knowledge?
Harry: No, what I'm saying is they all want to have sex with you.
Sally: They do not.
Harry: Do too.
Sally: They do not.
Harry: Do too.
Sally: How do you know?
Harry: Because no man can be friends with a woman that he finds attractive. He always wants to have sex with her.
Sally: So you're saying that a man can be friends with a woman he finds unattractive.
Harry: No, you pretty much want to nail them, too.
Sally: What if they don't want to have sex with you?
Harry: Doesn't matter, because the sex thing is already out there, so the friendship is ultimately doomed, and that is the end of the story.

We are pleased to introduce a new feature to the blog. Each and every Friday from now until the start of the World Cup, we will rank the 32 teams in the tournament. This week’s rankings were determined by a highly distinguished panel that included, well, just me. In the coming weeks we hope to produce polls that reflect the views of our 30+ bloggers. We might also get crazy and do some reader-based rankings. Stay tuned. Feel free to agree or disagree with the initial World Cup Blog Power Rankings. These rankings are likely to change from week to week and fan input can impact our future selections.

Friendly internationals show threats posed by England's World Cup Group B rivals

Sweden

Tactics The coach Lars Lagerback used a 4-1-3-2 formation. But with the full-backs reluctant to come forward and the midfield narrow except when Christian Wilhelmsson went towards the touchline, there was little width to their play. Much seems to rely on their strikers - Barcelona's Henrik Larsson, pictured, and Juventus's Zlatan Ibrahimovic - making things happen, and Ibrahimovic was missed after going off injured.

Star man Ibrahimovic showed in the 35 minutes he played that he can pose a real danger. Before getting a minor thigh injury he had set up a chance for Larsson with a lovely dinked pass, cleverly turned away two opponents before hitting a weak shot, and had another effort. Sweden were basically poor, though.

Beware England This was more a case of England seeing where they might profit. Sweden looked unusually vulnerable at the back, especially to pace, and the right-back Alexander Ostlund, of Southampton, was shaky. Robbie Keane caused them problems by dropping deep and they did not match Ireland's aggression. Keeping control of Larsson and Ibrahimovic - not an easy task - promises to be the key.

Threat rating On this showing only 2/10, but England v Sweden is never like that.

Paraguay

Tactics A British-style flat back four behind a four-man midfield and with two interchanging runners up front. That should be familiar enough to Sven-Goran Eriksson and his charges, and Paraguay's defensive line plays so high that it will be extremely vulnerable to the passing of David Beckham and the pace of Michael Owen on the counter-attack.

Star man Roque Santa Cruz; fortunately for Wales the Bayern Munich striker was not available to partner the effective Nelson Haedo Valdez, pictured, up front last night. That promises to be a

partnership more capable of challenging England's centre-backs than César Ramírez and Valdez were against Wales. The coach Maño Ruiz refers to Santa Cruz as the "compete footballer".

Beware England The long-range drives of Roberto Acuña. The Deportivo La Coruña midfielder has a ferocious shot and is confident enough to use it even when 35 yards out. He attempted three such efforts even in the first half last night, each increasingly close to Paul Jones's net. This is a technique employed by several Paraguayan players, with the left-back Delio Toledo as adept from distance as Frank Lampard or Steven Gerrard.

Threat rating 6/10.

Trinidad & Tobago

Tactics Lined up on Tuesday in a 4-4-2 formation though their Dutch coach Leo Beenhakker, pictured, hopes they will have more tactical flexibility after intensive coaching in the five weeks before the World Cup. They attack down the wings, where Dundee United's Collin Samuel was the chief threat. Dwight Yorke and Stern John offer craft up front.

Star man As with Greece, winners of the last tournament England appeared in, T&T's most important figure will be not on the pitch but on the bench. Before Beenhakker replaced Bertille St Clair they were hopeless, taking one point from the first three matches in qualifying. Galvanised by him they stormed past Guatemala to fourth place in the Concacaf group and a play-off against Bahrain. He tempted Yorke out of international retirement and the former Manchester United striker is his mouthpiece on the pitch.

Beware England Eriksson's men will consider themselves good enough to beat T&T quite easily, but whoever mans England's right wing should be prepared for a difficult evening. Even if Samuel can be kept under control the forays of the left-back Avery John will need to be monitored. T&T are not short of technical ability and can exceed limited expectations.

Threat rating: 3/10
