It would help if you actually had a clue about what you're talking about.  Sancho knows well what he's doing with that request for "accounting."  When the MoS agreed to pay the coaches last year there were no such conditions attached to the agreement by Rupert Griffith.  All of a sudden Sancho wants to see financial audits.  Audits have been prepared for 2012- present, the period since Tim Kee has been President, and made available to Sancho.  But Sancho not satisfied with that... he wants Tim Kee to provide audits for the period 2008-2010 as well.. coincidentally, the period when players allege most of the 2006 money went missing.  Not only is this a period for which Tim Kee isn't responsible (so why punish football unnecessarily by holding up the coaches' pay?), but Sancho and his cohorts took the computers which had the financial records stored on them.  Sancho on shit... and either you too dotish to connect the very obvious dots, or you trolling.  Smart money is on an equal helping of both.

This is how you respond to people? And when provided with answers you continue down the same path. Leave that stuff aside man. It is distracting when following the thread and trying to get up to speed with whats going on.

I like the appointment. Sancho is someone who is more 'one of us' and less of the establishment. He would be a good candidate for keeping the TTFA on its toes.

Football / Re: Who should take over for the TTFA
« on: November 18, 2014, 01:31:55 PM »
TTFA has no money.  They are at the mercy of the government.  They need a development department for strictly raising funds, but even at that, I do not know who is going to put a large amount of money into TTFA.  The big difference between this current administration and the past is the issue of ethics.  I do not see Tim Kee and Sheldon Phillips as dishonorable people.  They just have a lot of limitations in what they are dealing with.  It does not matter who is running TTFA, they are going to be faced with a lot of financial challenges.

I dont think the TTFA needs to be disbanded or that they are corrupt. Maybe they are inept, but theyve had such little funding to work with. They were in a position to fail from the outset.

I wonder what areas are the immigration dept. canvassing.

:frustrated: this is they bright plan?

I think its a good plan. One-month window for illegals to come forward. If not, then no one can complain when they get the boot.
Immigration into the country should be promoted and encouraged considering our lackluster population growth projection.

From DIRECTV W Connection Facebook page. Interview with U16 Coach Brian Williams.

Leading up to the U16s Italy Tour we will be posting a series of interviews featuring staff and players.
This week we are featuring U16 Head Coach Brian Williams. Take a look at what he had to say.

1. How long have you been with the U16 team as well as WCFC?
-I have been with the U-16 team for the last (2) years and a member of the WCFC coaching staff since the year 2000 with a (5) year break at United Petrotrin.

2. What do you think contributed to the success of the team this season?
-There are many factors which contributed to the success of the team but most important was the equity in discipline shared by the coaching staff and the commitment of the players.

3. What is the main objective of the youth program at WCFC?
-Producing young players to represent the club at senior level and by extension our National Teams both Senior and Youth level.

4. What was your coaching philosophy for the 2014 season?
-For the players to develop good working ethics, proper game understanding and to be result oriented.

5. What are you looking forward to most about the upcoming tour?
-To measure the ability of our kids to that of the European kids and also to see how our players would perform in a different environment.

6. How do you think this tour will benefit your players?
-Mainly by giving them the necessary exposure in playing in a different country and if possible attract any interested scouts from the Italian clubs.

7. Was there any reason behind the timing of the tour?
-Not really, mainly the availability of the players at this time.

8. What expectations do you have of your players for this tour?
-Simply to give a good account of themselves during the tour.

9. What do you hope that your players gain from this tour?
-Good exposure and having the opportunity to play against foreign opponents.

10. What will make this tour a success?
-The team having good performances and also attracting the interest of some of the clubs' scouts.

I've heard that Brian Williams is one of the top coaches on the islands - the squad is in good hands in that case :)

He may be a good coach but damn hes a boring interview and salesman. Sell the tour to the public! Give some real insight!  :banginghead:

Football / Re: James Rodríguez
« on: July 10, 2014, 09:36:59 PM »
The day T&T kept Colombia's star boy off the scoresheet.
By Shaun Fuentes (TTFA).

He won the hearts of many for his exhilarating performances at the 2014 World Cup Finals and is certainly going to be among the stars emanating from these finals. But many may not recall that James Rodriguez, scorer of six goals at the 2014 World Cup, has in fact played against Trinidad and Tobago.

On August 28th, 2007 in Cheonan, South Korea, Rodriguez was in the starting line up when both countries met at the FIFA Under 17 Men’s World Cup.

Colombia were 5-0 winners but Rodriguez didn’t find the net and was kept in check by the T&T defence which included present day T&T senior team defenders Sheldon Bateau, Robert Primus and Daneil Cyrus as well as the deceased Akeem Adams and midfielder Marcus Joseph. Orlando City midfielder Kevin Molino was a second half substitute on that day.

“Those are experiences that make you. You can look back, reflect and compare everything,” Bateau said.

“You look at him now and he was a star at the World Cup. We as players have to believe that we can compete and do just as well. Now you realize that we were on the same stage at the Under 17 World Cup and reach World Cups is not beyond us but it takes a lot more hard work and effort,”

Molino, set to take the field with Brazilian Kaka in the American MLS next season, says T&T can afford to believe that it can hold its own on a world stage.

“We just played Argentina and okay we lost the game but we can compete. James was on the same level, the same field with us in 2007. That was my first World Cup and it’s the same for him. If we can have the right things in place and our players can get the right support then nothing is beyond us really.

I think we as players have to realize what it takes and believe it’s all possible as well,” Molino said. Current World Cup player Toni Kroos was also in the German squad that defeated T&T 5-0 at that 2007 Under 17 World Cup.

Costa Rica’s World Cup hitman Joel Campbell also played against T&T at the CONCACAF 2009 Under 17 qualifiers, scoring in a 3-0 victory in Mexico.

Good post. In end, what we need is for our players to be playing good competition week in and week out. Full stop. Finland and Vietnam leagues can only take you so far. I remember when we had numerous players playing in the English divisions/MLS. We also need for the Pro league to continue to stregthen, and for youth/reserve teams to become a key part of Pro League setup. Otherwise, its just treading water

Good point on the 2nd nationality players - having competitive opponents who raise their game will be a draw certainly, although I think favouring players who played in the bad-old days would be my personal preference.
Ummm just play the best 11 available. This is not rocket science.

Personally I think that you shouldn't do that for national teams - I'd prefer national teams full of players who embody the nation, i.e. haven't made a choice for career decisions. Obviously I'm in a minority, but I'm cool with that :)

I'm with you on picking those who really have shown loyalty. But, being the small nation that we are, and not scheduling premier matches like this every day, I'd like to see TTFA really maximize and sell the hell out of these fixtures and use it to try and cap a player or two.
