Football / Other International Eng vs Arg
« on: November 13, 2005, 04:27:15 PM »
Just watching Argentina vs England a few things struck me. Rooney is the real deal and in Robinson they have a good GKeeper. Lampard though a good player is not in the class of Requelme, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Zidane or Ballack. He works hard and pops up with goals but his game lacks true creativity (for a midfielder). The other names above can score, create and dictate an entire game.

Football / Nothing warrior like about the performance
« on: November 12, 2005, 07:25:29 PM »
I will say this we have everything to play for. However, this is a time for leadership through action action, not talk. Latapy Dwight and Stern have to step up and guide the team.  The entire back line was poor and the overall performance poor (as a team). Otis played his heart out and he deserves respect but its time for our true leaders to step forward. Ah done talk.

lets go T&T No Excuses. All guns Blazing

Football / What qualification means to T&T
« on: November 12, 2005, 08:37:34 AM »
While we all wish, pray, walk with garlic in we pocket and use every other capiech to qualify for the WC. Consider this Australia news papers states that simply for qualifying for the final 32. teams receive 10 MILLION US from FIFA. Dat is real dollars. Ah only hope when we qualify we see some accountability for that kind ah money. Make sure it is used for preparation and to establish some kind of youth program for the country

Football / Uzbek, Bahrain ---& FIFA
« on: November 06, 2005, 11:03:16 AM »
Maybe people already discuss this but something fishy wid FIFA and Bahrain
Uzbek leading 1-0 penalty call for Uzbek. Ref blow for encroachment and make a mistake and give Bahrain the ball for an indirect. But Uzebek win the game anyway. So why FIFA step in and call for replay. It was Uzbek penalty, Uzebek get rob and they win anyway. So dem get punish twice.
Something Fishy---smells of a bribe from Bahrain  ;D

Eto is more than a poacher. He can drop deep and run at defenders and be creative. Overall a very good striker

Just for your likkle trivia when yuh liming. I was talking to a player from the 73 squad two days ago. he said Steve David only play about 10 games for T&T. Dem men in dat era hardly play international games. When they did they only brought back players from NASL for qualification (big match). Anyway I check on the stats (thanks Felx / Tallman).
Steve David actually play 13 games for T&T scoring 11 goals.

My trivia to you. what was the coach name who bring up dem youths in Point. David, Archie, Dele, Cave, Furlong, Cupid all of that generation??

His name is August Wooter and he is originally from Surinam. He was brought to Trini by the DOM himself, Dom Basil. He actually grew up and played balled in Surinam with Patrick Klieuvert and Ruud Gullit(sorry for the bad spelling) fathers. He now lives in Washington D.C metro area and yes I know him personally. By the way I was 10 years old back in '73, but ah know meh Point peeps and dem. Anything else????

VIBES IT UP!!!!!!!

Well Pointman yuh loss two tickets to the WC on that trivia :D De man who raise dem youths was Doyle Griffith, the Dom recruited them to St Benedicts. Wooter came to St Benedicts after a Hungarian named Brunner and many argue gained the reward from Brunner's work. In deLeons own words " Brunner tamed my game, made me play more intelligent football."

Top 10 from Point not in order

DeLeon, Archibal (Warren & Milton), Cave, David, Douglas, Brewster, Cupid, Furlong (Dick and Francis)  I also believe Quanvie was from Point. Other names I am not sure if they were from Point was Murren and Leonard
Players who came after  Bede Archibal, Trevor Federicks, Richard Sutherland

Doyle Griffith may have also coached Civic

You have to look at position by position. Lampard did not do as well in the qualifications. If I had to pick now I would pick Kaka.
Also on current form Juninho of Lyon he have everything

Football / Re: Stern John
« on: November 01, 2005, 01:32:07 PM »
Stern John can score on any team as long as he getting the proper service!!!

If this statement were true Stern would not be playing where he is presently playing

That is not exactly true either because there are many factors influencing where players play.

Indeed but the better players in the World playing for the better teams in the World.
Who is Marc Lloyd Williams?
Ara Hakobian?
Andrei krolov?

Who? Exactly. All golden Boot winners for the top scorers in Europe over the last 3 years. the fact remain that they playing in Wales, Armenia and Estonia. So they win the award but none play for the better teams in the World. They all scoring goals for fun in their respective leagues. None actually good enough for the top teams. Stern was in the EPL & First division and if he was good enough he would have definately been bought by a big team or even a minnow in the EPL, Portugal, Spain, Germany ----------

killer yuh could only judge ah man from what he actually did and not based on what if's. just because men doin good in one league dont mean he go be able to cope with another league.we spoke about this a few weeks ago when men was saying that they cannot play with spanish men and so on.

Look we talking International football here. Players face different opposition but no one can deny that some opposition is way below a certain standard. It have man scoring seven goals against Soloman islands (as an example), we have to be realistic in assessment of the individual. That is all I am saying. I eh fighting down Stern achievements.

yeah pele would score about ah million on st kitts ent...... stupes face it you could only score on your opponent and pele had his and stern had his also

VICE PRESIDENT OF STERN FOR GOALS COMMITTEE

Dat is the most tata I ever read. So man in Intercol have a better goal scoring record than Yorke in the Premier, so he better???
Several people does argue that players have good records in one league eg. EPL but would not score with the same rate and consistency in Italy.
No one would argue with that yet, when it is a Trini involved the argument turn around. All yuh eh easy nah

Football / Roy Kean is real tears yes
« on: November 01, 2005, 09:59:53 AM »

the man lash out at his team mates in the squad, amazing that he would say something so in public.

The Keane Comments Saga – Part Two
11/1/2005 2:24:00 PM
It has now emerged that what Roy Keane said about Manchester United’s performance against Middlesbrough was pretty explosive stuff. The forthright Irishman’s comments were pulled by MUTV.
And according to The Sun newspaper, Keane ireportedly laced into Darren Fletcher, John O’Shea, Kieran Richardson, Alan Smith and Liam Miller, saying they are not good enough for United.

Keane was in the MUTV studio to record a “Roy Keane Plays The Pundit” feature for United’s own TV channel. The object of his analysis was Saturday’s humbling 4-1 defeat at Middlesbrough.

But a club insider apparently told the newspaper: "The criticism from Keane was absolutely incredible.

"It was described by one person at MUTV as unusable.

"The manager has put the blocks on it. He could not believe what he was hearing.

"Keane has been outspoken in his criticism in the past but this was absolutely off the scale."

The programme was scheduled to be screened at 1730 GMT on Monday on MUTV, but was swiftly substituted.

Keane has questioned the desire of some of his team-mates on more than one occasion in the past.

But manager Sir Alex Ferguson deflected questions about Keane’s comments ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League game with Lille.

Ferguson said: "That is the great thing about football - we have had a few days to recover from a bad result and hopefully we can put things right tomorrow."

Stern is a boss I will give him that. But one has to consider the opposition. Man like Ali Daeli / Stern and most of the others it simply is not the same. Imagine if Ronaldo, Romario, Pele Muller and dem play St Kitts, Netherland Antilles and Barbados. Leh we give Stern he props but doh go over board.

Good Job Stern all the same

Sealy, Glen and Scotland ahead of Zamora anyday.
The only way Zamora making that team is if he could contribute in a next position.
so tell me why dem   men cyah make no premiership side

i have seen him play three times now, wide left and he did a decent job. Considering our weakness down the left side he could be a plus. Especially since he is good in te air nd when Edwards crosse from the right he could be a threat.

Look Nakid was scouting coaching with Bertil and all that and T&T was playing poorly and losing. So what is the big deal.
Imagine he is a chief scout / coach and he does not even have videos of T&T. This is laughable. Just forget the Nakid issue and leave it for what it is, Nakid trying to distact and disrupt, something he has a history of doing. Nakid like to read abot himself. Name one organization Nakid was with that he did not cause shit. Shit he even on he second wife  ;D so there!
